Playing vlc movies on ipad2

Hi. Can anyone help me? I have a load of vlc movies on my pc and want to play them on my iPad. Not too sure how?
Any advice gratefully received. Have looked at vlc for iOS but not too sure and don't want to download anything dodgy!

Unless your device is jailbroken, that app is unavailable. A VLC app was available for a short time until a jerk decided to press a technicality of the open source license and the app ended up being pulled from the store. It was an issue of form over substance but the jerk won. The app you are looking at may or may not be the real VLC app.

Can you play multiple movies in keynote on the ipad2 at the same time?

I have an ipad2 with keynote, and am trying to play my presentatin with 2 movies on one page at the same time. But it only seems to be able to play one movie and then you have to tap the next movie to get it to play. Now I have set up the build to play with the other movie and it works fine on the MacBook Pro, but on the ipad it refuses to work. Anyone know how to resolve this? Also keynote doe'nt seem to support video borders.......

Play a movie in an ipad2 from a shared computer then send the movie to my apple tv to watch the rest of the movie.

is it possible to play a movie on an ipad2 from a shared itunes (on a windows computer) then when i want to send the movie to my apple tv? Seems like i should be able to do this, but when i choose apple tv on the ipad2 only the sound gets sent to the apple tv, i don't get any video. I do however get video for everything else (i.e. if i watch youtube, etc).

Try the following steps, check whether things are working after each step where appropriate, before trying the next.
Restart the Apple TV (Settings > General > Restart).
Restart the Apple TV by removing ALL the cables for 30 seconds.
Restart your router.
Reset the Apple TV (Settings > General > Reset > Reset all settings)
Restore the Apple TV (Settings > General > Reset > Restore)

I have been successfully using my Apple TV with my iPad2 to access Netflix through airplay (mirroring) and suddenly it won't work. It says "the connected display is not supported" What's up?
Also when I try to stream Netflix through my Apple TV menu on my television it says "An error occurred loading this content. Try again later. But trying again later doesn't work any better.

I can no longer play quicktime mov files from a canon firestore

I can no longer play quicktime mov files from a canon firestore from an HDV camera that play on other macs and play in vlc. It happened all of a sudden. Files that I could play before no longer play. It seems to be something wrong with the quicktime codec management because the files do not play in premiere and final cut pro. In FCP it says: File Error: 1 File(s) recognized, 0 access denied, 1 unknown. These files work on other computers. I have four drives and it doesnt matter which file i attempt to open on each drive, these files are unreadable on this system. Please help. Possible issues might be a corrupted index, but i dont understand how that can go across four different drives.

Apple kindly updated Quicktime and rendered Firestore files unplayable. I think a recent update of iTunes was the culprit.
Solutions: What I did. Wipe the system disc. Re-install Snow Leopard. Re-install FCP7. Don't update Quicktime or iTunes to anything after Jun 2011. QT v7.6.6 is the last good version. That'll get your files back.
A colleague tried a different approach. For this you need a pre-July 2011 version of the file QuickTimeComponents.component. It is in the system/library/QuickTime folder. Delete your current one and drop in an old one.
However if you're working with Final Cut X, I think you screwed until Focus and Apple work something out. My address is on my contacts page at teevideousadotcom if you need any further help.

Movies on iPhone 6 plus won't play on my tv with the adapter. Device not allowed to play protected movies. It worked before the update

I Just tried to play a movie off of my iPhone 6 plus ios 8.1 on my tv using the hdmi adapter, the movie plays for about 2 secs and then tells me the device is not authorized to play protected movies.. I have power rebooted my phone closed everything out and it stil isn't working.. I can do anything else like view web pages and Netflix just not purchased movies from iTunes.. Oh and it worked before the update I used it several times..

The more data you give us, the easier it is to help us help you to diagnose your problem. Your disk space would be very useful. Contrary to some, I advocate iDefrag to assist VLC and MPlayer, which you were a little hard on.
GNU/Linux's free offerings
MPlayer was developed a decade ago, and I prefer it for viewing DVDs (for 'DVD Player') seems too dark. VLC (legally) copies many CRM-protected DVDs of yours, so you can play only the burned copy. When I'm having a problem playing a DVD, the VLC log tells me all: only perfect DVDs play well on VLC.
There are two ways of viewing everything.
Streaming MPEG-4
+H.264/MPEG-4 AVC+ is a fancy codec based upon MPEG-4: it requires a powerful processor to de-compress it. I watched an MPEG-4 movie from a G3 iBook in 2005. It played flawlessly.
Your Problem
Quicktime 7.X applications can not play +H.264/MPEG-4 AVC+ streams. It was a bug Apple never fixed. Frames are dropped because H.264 is so slow that it requires special hardware. You, I'm sad to say, don't have it.
To quote the Wikipedia on Quicktime: 'QuickTime 7 lacks support for H.264's Sample Aspect Ratio .[67] QuickTime X does not have this limitation; many Apple products (such as iTunes and Apple TV) still use the older QuickTime 7 engine.'
My Quicktime Pro on a PPC PowerBook is 7.6.4. You can either use a Linux transplant or upgrade to Quicktime X. Those more familiar with Macs may have better ideas for you.

VLC plays anything you throw at it. At least 99.999999%. What type of file (suffix) is this movie file? Where did you get the movie from?

You need to determine from the vendor if the player is compatible w/Maverick. Have you done this yet? If not, why not?

Stopped playing quicktime movies

Out of the blue it seems I can't play any quicktime movies. QT opens but no pic or sound. mpeg movies play fine in qt. I have qt pro, latest updates on a macbook pro w/ leopard. Get an error message directing me to 3rd party updates.

I can't play iTunes Movies in 5.1 surround on my surround sound system

I like to download iTunes movies to my MacMini from iTunes store. Recently I gave up doing so because I can't play iTunes movies in 5.1 surround on my surround system. My MacMini is connected to my Marantz 6007 SR via HDMI cable. However I can get DTS or 5.1 surround sound from my system with other players such as VLC player.
How can I fix this problem as I really want to buy or rent movies from iTunes store?

It sounds like your Mac Mini is able to output 5.1 audio to your surround sound receiver, but iTunes purchases do not play in surround sound.
When playing iTunes purchases, first see if iTunes is set to output the movie you're playing in surround sound:
Set up iTunes to play content in surround sound
Movies you purchased or rented from the iTunes Store may have stereo audio and digital surround sound tracks. ...
In iTunes, click the Speech Bubble icon to view your audio choices, such as English (Surround). If the surround sound choice is dimmed or the icon doesn't appear, make sure you are using the appropriate hardware and that the content is encoded with digital surround sound.

Macbook freezes when I play 720p movies

I bought my macbook back in early 2008 and now it runs on OS X Tiger.
Recently, I find that whenever I use realplayer to play 720p movies....my macbook would free at some random spot and I'd have no other ways of closing the program other than physically pressing the shut down button.
I have tried using VLC but its worse. It would play for a bit and when I try to fast forward it (I press pause then fast forward), the whole app would just crash and give me an error message. This happens everytime.
Does anyone know what the problem is?

IDVD crash on play a movie

From some day when i play the movie in iDVD '08 (7.0.1)it crash.
When i insert a movie button the icon show the preview of the video, but when i click the button the iDVD crash. The slideshow button not have problem.
The video with quicktime o vlc correctly run.
