I have few questions.
Is the zen mp3 player compatible with winamp playlists? Can you modify those in side the player?
IS there a FM modulator add on so that the player can play on your car radio by tunning to a certain frequency? I know the ipod has that type of a functionality.
Does a car charger come originaly with the zen player so that you can recharge the battery while driving?
Does the zen software always sycn the files on your compuer? For example, if I have 000 songs and I have downloaded them on to the player and then deleted 500, will the zen also delete 500 on the player next time I hook up the player?

Sounds like your car stereo has a problem, perhaps in terms of the reception within the car. I'm kinda surprised that these internal transmitters work at all based on the Faraday Cage principle, but I guess there's at least some aerial wire (or connecting wire) within the car.
So perhaps you want to take the car to a dealer, or a car audio specialist.

Problem Inserting Euro Symbol and few others

We are using java application with oracle 8.1.6 as the db with the charset as WE8ISO8859P15. ALl the forms are using multipart request. We cannot do away without that. When trying to insert euro symbol and few other western european characters, they get converted to something else before getting stored in the db and so we are not able to display them properly on retrieval.
Can anyone please help in this direction?

Just set the nls_charset.zip in classpath and then try to insert into db.I think it might not be a problem with database.(note. if u insert euro character it will be reside in db, as some format but u retrive it and stream it thru servlet it will be displayed in the browser properly, if u write using printwriter then it might give "?" / "O" in browser. refer http://www.inter-locale.com/faq/blacksquares.jsp).

Zen V playlist and line in quest

Making a play list must be easier than I am making it. I can make a playlist but it only has the contents of one album, I would like to pick and choose. How can I take a couple of tracks from here and a few tracks from there and where ever?
I like the line in but it records in a weird way, it is a wma file,which is not that bad, but breaks the recording up in chunks, not sure how it calculates that. So I have a bunch of recorded files that I have no way of moving or identifying. I like this feature because I can make recordings from records directly, which is very nice but the files are not very to use and I can't name them or put them where I want them. I would like to record an album and then just make it another album on the player.
One other thing, I am running win2000, so I am working with the driver workaround and not the software that comes with the product. I am using Media monkey and the windows media player will work as well, but not as easy to use. I am not opposed to using another program as long as it isn't too much, like $20.
It is a nice player but the documentation isn't anything to write home about.

i tried this but media player saves the playlists as *.wpl and the playlist files on the player are *.vpl
but I found another way.
windows vista can open the zpl-files. there a windows appears and I can manage the playlist. just creating a new playlist does not work.Message Edited by daveking on 07-29-20070:37 PM

Printable PDF and few other issues

I am using BIEE 11g and experiencing few issues and looking for advices for issues below :
1. Printable PDF format
- When i download dashboard and answer to printable PDF, the PDF's format doesnt seem following the format of dashboard. It maintains overall format, but it becomes uneven. And gap between sections and columns of dashboard are quite different with it of dashboard on the screen.
- Image included inside columns of table for conditions, It looks fine on the dashboard and answer, but it gets misplaced if i download them in PDF or PPT. Sometimes the images are outside the table. However, it works fine with Excel.
2. Mobile Device Management
- For addition of new mobile device, I go to Administration => Manage Device Types. When i try to create a new device, it gives me error message saying "This Device Type cannot be deleted/updated as it is a pre-configured system device". Is there anyway i can add new devices?
3. MS Word. Direct download impossible for dashboard and answer
- This one is simple. Is it possible to download answer or dashboard directly as MS Word format. I heard that security of MS Office blocks users for direct download.

BB in Russia and few other questions

Hello! Having few troubles about my new device...Plz, help ) 1. I've got BB Z10, here, in Russia, mostly mobile operators doesnt have any troubles with BIS and this pic of BB in right corner is shown all the time, but my operator (Tele2 Russia) doesn't have that service and actually they don't understand what am i talking about. So i can use BBM only with wi-fi. What should i tell them to solve my problem? 2. Feels like BB is not that popular here too, so we have only one official shop in st-petersburg, so feeling stuck with official accessorises (only one type of battery and only one type of holder), but battery is very weak...u know.. 3. Will be there in os10.3 appear delete button in fast mode? not that useful to delete anything in few clicks... 4. Will be there in os 10.3 fixed problem in viber (shows russian letters in unreadable mode) 5. Is there any ways to choose the way where to install and download apps? 6. in few apps such as VK (russian version of FB) smthg is wrong about saving pictures. 7. MSI P6N SLI V2 does not boot up from cd/dvd and few other problems

I just bought a computer P6N SLI V2 + E6750. It has following problem. It does not boot from cd.
I have Sata HD. CD/DVD is installed to IDE as a master.
I have done settings in bios so that First boot is cd/dvd and second is sata HD. Anyhow it still goes to the hd and stars windows.
I was only able to boot up from cd when I disabled hd from boot sequency. Meaning I left only cd/dvd there.
Hopefully you pro's can help me.
Then there is another problem. Windows is telling me that it found new pci device. I do not know what device. I have only Graphig card (geforce 8800 gts) installed into pci-E. Drivers and software are also installed, I assume proberly. How to find out what windows thinks it found.
Third problem is onboard soundcard. I cannot get any sound out from the machine. I have downloaded driver from realtek, but still no sound.
Unfortunatelly I do not have original software for motherboard. Only the latest from MSI website.
Hopefully someone can help me.

About bootup, i dont know yet.
To find out what windows found, look in devicemanager.
To go there go to controlpanel, system then choose devicemanager.
There you can see what's installed.
Last, your soundcards needs to be enabled in bios, under integrated peripherals there should be a line with "onboard sound", enable this and sound should work, unless its broken.

IMac 21.5" performance on COD4 and few other general questions from a newbi

I'm a current and long time PC owner who is sick of messing with registry problems, performance issues and viruses.
I am strongly considering the purchase of a 21.5" iMac, but have some reservations as to whether I may have performance issues playing Call of Duty 4 using Parallels or Boot Camp. Will the 21.5" machine with the upgraded 256K video card handle this and other games OK? Other than that, I am a light user who mainly surfs the web, sends email and tracks finances with quicken. Games and some video are about the heaviest applications I use.
Currently on a 3 year old Pentium Duo Dell with 2GB ram, 512mb Nvidia video card.

I'm just extremely concerned that the 21.5" iMac won't have enough juice for multi-tasking such as playing COD4 while surfing the net. Even my hopped up gaming PC (older dual core with 512K video card) struggles at times. I'm wanting to make the jump to Mac, just afraid of spending almost $1500+ and winding up with worse performance than I already have.
Unfortunately, the nearest Mac retailer is over an hour away from me so there isn't a real chance to put one through it's paces in person.

ok, hi... im sorry if this is a novice question...
but i have scoured google search results for way too long... you are my last hope.
i can create a new playlist, and it shows up in itunes. i can sequence the songs to any order i please within that playlist and i love it -- but for the love of god -- how do i put the PLAYLIST (song order) on the shuffle itself so i can sequence songs for it?
as i said, im sorry if this seems like a stupid question... i suspect im over looking something simple. but here i am...

Not a stupid question at all...I am looking for the answer to that very question myself!!! Only difference is that I have a 1st generation shuffle. Would someone please help? FYI, I'm working on a new MacBook with the latest version of iTunes loaded...Does that have anything to do w/ my not being able to get the playlist copied (in the correct song order) onto my shuffle? Also, can I have more than one playlist and random other songs on my shuffle at the same time? Please help us both!

Smart playlists and manually selected playlists

I transferred my itunes library into my new computer. A tech phone person suggested using the smart playlist feature to get all my genres (mine are sorted by the dances which are done to the music)into the proper playlist quickly. It worked like a charm.... BUT...
I have a cha cha cha smart playlist. I want to put some of the slower cha cha chas into a teaching playlist, which I call "ccc teaching." In my new itunes the smart playlists and other playlists have different icons and absolutely refuse to line up alphabetically. So my "ccc teaching" playlist is down below my west coast swings. Is there any way I can get them to mingle without just doing it all manually? Thanks.

Thanks so much. I guess I'm not being as clear as I would like. I want two separate playlists, and I want them to line up alphabetically under "c." One is a smart playlist and the other is not. The icon next to the smart playlist has that gear on it, and the icon next to the other playlist has an 8th note. The playlists are lining up all gears first, then all 8th notes. Since I now have smart playlists of all the dances I teach, as well as the dance party music I have compiled in the past, there are presently 33 other playlists separating the two that begin with "c." I have tried dragging one to the other to line them up, but no dice. Can anything be done short of remaking the playlists?

ITunes for Windows freezes when importing a library. I have a large but not huge library of mostly iTunes purchased music on two authorized computers and would like to sync the files, export the library as a playlist, and import it on the other computer.

I am running iTunes for Windows 10.2.2 on Windows 7 Home. I have my iTunes library on both this computer and another authorized machine running Windows 7 Professional. I have a large but not enormous library, as I'm one of those people who doesn't pirate, use torrents, borrow from a dozen friends, or whatever other shades of gray you might imagine. It's mostly iTunes purchases with my old CD collection imported. I have started using the following technique to sync my libraries between my two authorized computers, an ability which you can probably all agree should one day be added to iTunes -- that would be different from Home Sharing, because the music would be stored locally and thus available on the road. With the added benefit of the entire library being backed up on the other machine in real-time. Anyway, when I switch from my desktop to laptop and vice versa, I use the following technique:
Connect both machines to the home network. One machine is the "Active" machine, which has most recently been used for iTunes media, purchases, ratings, etc.
On the "Active" machine, File-->Library-->Export. Save the file as "Library.xml" on the shared drive of the other machine.
Right-click "Library.xml" where it's been saved, and open another file that has two lines in it: The root path of the iTunes library on one machine and the root path of the iTunes library on the other machine.
Do a find/replace all in Notepad to make the library XML file point to where the files will be saved on the "Inactive" machine.
Run Microsoft SyncToy to synchronize the files between both music libraries; the most recent files win. This avoids copying the entire multi-gigabyte library over the network.
Open iTunes on the "Inactive" machine.
Go to Music, Select All, Delete. Keep files.
Do the same for Movies, Music Videos.
Go down to Playlists, select the top one, hold down the delete button until they're all gone.
File-->Library-->Import Playlist. Choose the "Library.xml" file you saved.
First a status bar comes up that says, "Importing library." It has the continually-scrolling progress bar, not the one that starts on the left and steadily creeps right. Then after about 30 seconds, that clears out. Wait. Typically a few minutes. Eventually a status bar will pop up saying something like, "Evaluating gapless playback information," or something like that.
The "Inactive" computer is now the "Active" computer. I can now play my library, it has all my playlists and metadata from the other machine.
Delete all the duplicate playlists named "Music," "Genius," "Purchased," and "iTunes DJ."
Well, I just upgraded to iTunes 10.2.2 a few days ago and tried to do this again like I've done it dozens of times before. Now, iTunes just goes unresponsive after the library import. It got through the "Importing library" bar to the long wait and stopped. I can still multiprocess and use other programs, but iTunes is hovering back there not responding to clicks. Task Manager doesn't seem to think iTunes is using my CPU, and I don't see my hard drive rattling. Any thoughts on why iTunes might hang up when importing a large library?
... Also, please help lobby Apple to come up with a network sync tool built into iTunes for a user with multiple authorized computers. Something different than Home Sharing so I can pull my laptop off the network and still have the synced library with me. And all my metadata changes will sync. The technique I use seems a little kludgey, don't you think?

iTunes isn't an editor. You need an app that's intended for editing audio files, like Adobe Audition (http://www.adobe.com/products/audition.html) or Audacity (free in the App Store).

My Audio Books are in my playlist and the chapters are all correctly arranged in my I tunes. I watched it sync to my nano but after it was all done... A few of the chapters were out of order in the nano.

IPhone plays only one playlist and won't others

Hi guys,
can anyone help me; I have my iPhone for so long time, always updated with latest version of software, but recently after latest update 3.1.3. iPod plays only one playlist and won't play any other. Also can't enter any other artist file or videos. When I try to, Ipod closes! The rest of phone works fine.
Could it be problem with latest update? How can I reset latest update?

The latest update works fine for most people, but your's might not have been applied correctly for some reason.
Try the standard troubleshooting steps in order:
Restart your phone: Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button for a few seconds until a red slider appears, and then drag the slider. Then press and hold the Sleep/Wake button until the Apple logo appears.
Reset your phone: Press and hold both the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.

I think I fixed this problem a few years ago by literally copying and pasting all my audio content into the iTunes library folder. I can't remember what is called of the top of my head and I don't know if this will still work.

Smart playlists don't sync onto iPhone 6, and some other serious problems

Am syncing my music library via cable from a Mac Book iTUnes library onto the iPhone. The songs are on the phone, but
- many songs are duplicated and greyed out
- some songs don't sync at all and have a "download from the cloud" symbol next to them
- some songs are greyed out AND have a "download from the cloud" symbol next to them
- none of my roughly 30 smart playlists and one regular playlist are synced, There are only two standard entries "Genius Playlis" and "New Playlist".
- have tried manually syncing playlists by deselecting "sync all" and just checking one to be synced, but it won't sync either
- there is a mismatch in song count. ITunes on the Mac has 1415 songs, iTunes n the iPHone has 1024 songs

Tried all the solutions but later found that the problem was related to iTunes being unable to find the link to the original file.
In iTunes, click on the Music icon at top left of screen, which should bring up the list of your music, artist, album etc.if you see an exclamation mark next to each file, it may be that the link to the location of your music file is lost. You need to right click on the track name and click GET INFO, then search through your computer to find the location of the missing file. I did this for a few tracks and then iTunes helpfully (?) asked if i would like it to do the rest of my music for me.
Then went back t iTunes and SYNCED as normal. I am not a techo type but hope this is helpful for others. Happy New Year
