Playlist editing/creating on the go

I have a brand new iPod Touch. How do I add a full album to a playlist without touching all the individual songs? I could easily do this on my Nano 7th gen before I would go out for a run. I don't want to do this in iTunes on my computer and then synch I want to do this on the iPod. Pretty frustrating when a lessor device does this easily.

Scratch that I figured it out. You have to set it to manual mode in iTunes on the computer first.

I just did the iTunes update to 10.4 (80) from 10.3 on a MacPro OS X 10.6.8 . I am extremely nervous and saddened by a subtle change to the smart playlist editing features. I have 178.26gb of music, and a very extensive array of playlists and smart playlists taking full advantage of all the wonderful features and complexity someone has taken the time to develop. I have taken years of time developing my library, and this one little change will set me back substantially. The change? Removing the ellipse as the 3rd button option along side the adding or removing a parameter. The button allowed one to create levels or groups of parameters within the dialogue window that could act independently within one smart playlist. For example, songs from artist "A" needs at least 2 stars to be included, while songs from artist "B" need three stars, and they both can be in the same smart playlist which has its first level of complexity. I have lists that go dozens of layers beyond. And dozens more that cross reference. Is there any way we can get the hierarchy back, ie. Reintroduce the ellipse button? Or is there something new I do not know about? Thanks!

I would like to second this.
This subtle yet life-changing removal is a total loss for advanced users that (used to) take full advantage of "logical and hierarchical" playlists. It tremendously impairs the "smartness" of the feature, effectively removing the possibility of mixing "and" & "if" parameters—which was the real beauty of the whole concept of "smart playlists" à la iTunes.
Here's a simple example. I would like to create a playlist combining two genres (rock and electronic) with only songs that have a rating higher than 3. I cannot do that anymore. I need to create two playlists:
a first playlist (A) that displays [Rock] OR [Electronic] (note that this playlist will never be played, it's an intermediary step required for B)
then a second playlist (B) that displays [songs from playlist "A"] AND [with a rating higher than 3].
It's a pain. And it clutters up browsing lists on my iPad/iPhone a lot.
Smart playlists should get the ellipse button back!
Moreover, the possibility of creating / editing smart playlists on iOS via a nice menu would be just… awesome. I would have thought Apple was going in that "smart" direction with iTunes. In hoping it's just a delay… until iOS 5 maybe?

Yes, you can sync podcasts. Except in this case it's KEXP.org's song-a-day podcast that are just songs. I want them to work the same way as any song in my library from any other source. I do not want to manage them as podcasts. And for whatever reason it won't send them to my iphone as songs unless I right click and convert to mp3. And yes, they already are mp3s. Before I convert them, they don't ever show up in iTunes DJ or in Music either. I don't know... ask Apple.

By syncing. The users manual says:
New and changed playlists are copied to your iTunes library the next time you sync iPod touch with your computer, or via iCloud if you’ve subscribed to iTunes Match.
You have to sync, not manage music manually in iTunes.

I noticed this was missing too- I use some apps on my iPhone for running and when synced over bluetooth in my car, where the new "random button" and "up next" isn't a viable solution. I have to save a randomized playlist ahead of time since those uses don't support randomization through iTunes- they can only play in the playlist order.
I like to have 5 copies of the same playlist each randomized weekly ahead of time and synced so that each time I go running, it's not the exact same order. Can't find how to do this in iTunes 11.

Viewing is ok by adding the calendar's group link using alt+command S (my iCal is in french so I give you the shortcut)....

Good news is there is a work around.. Bad news is it is sloppy at best. This should have been supported from day 1. I seriously hope they come out with a fix.

PO was created with reference to PR for two line items under external services.
then service entry sheet was created for the line 1 item.
line item 2 in PR still shows not edited , when there is already PO raised for that item.
what criteria should be checked,how to make second line item edited in PO.

SRM CCM 2.0 Not accessing the edit/create/approve page etc from home page

After doing all configs/user roles and activating services , the catalog home page is being displayed . But unable to navigate in Approve/Edit/ Create/display/Edit supplier cat/ Trex admn tool/ . In short when we try to open any of the tabs getting 'page can not be displayed' error.
Please address the issue.

So, your iPhone (and new shuffle) still work properly with iTunes, correct?
Your 1st gen shuffle... It's the white one with USB plug, that looks like a USB flash drive...?
Are you able to see it in Windows, and maybe change the drive letter back to E:?

If you are having unusual sync issues with your iPod nano, you may want to try restoring it to factory settings, then syncing again, as outlined in the following article:

I read on http://www.radioandtelly.co.uk/zenmicro.html that files created on the Micro using the built-in microphone are sampled at 64kpbs, 4 bit, my recordings appear to be sampled at 256 kbps and a unknown bit rate. However, these files cannot be edited using Wavelab or Steinberg Clean, as the require a bit rate of at least 6 bit.
How do you guys edit these files, what tools are you using?

For me they're described by Windows as 64kbit/s, 4 bit, channel, 6Hz, IMA ADPCM.
The freeware Audacity can open and edit them.

In the Elements 12 Organizer, how do I edit/create tag notes for the people and places categories?

I upgraded from Elements 4.0 to 12.0, and everything seemed to upgrade correctly except the tag notes I created for people and places under the People and Places categories. Thankfully, the tag notes I created under the Events category transferred over, but I'm not looking forward to manually transferring over the info in the People and Places tag notes, so any suggestions would be much appreciated.

PSE13 introduced a new thumbnails display : the adapative view. It's active by default. The thumbnails are resized to fill entirely the Media section; the plus side is that it shows more thumbnails or bigger ones; that is very useful for visual browsing and searching. But it hides the texts (file name...) and the version sets icons.
Simply revert to the old 'detailed view' from the view menu or keep in mind the shortcut: Ctrl D. Your choice will stick next time.
