Playlist Folders are gone

I have a 4th gen iPod Nano and used to be able to create playlist folders in iTunes with sub folders (i.e. Bryan's Favorites folder>Country folder, Rap folder, Riding folder). When I would sync my iPod, the same folder structure would exist in my iPod. Now, it's gone. Only the individual songs appear within the "Bryan's Favorites" folder, not the sub-folders. HELP!! Thank you.

  • Reimaged computer...now all Playlist Folders are GONE!

I had to reimage my computer recently and I reinstalled iTunes and all my songs. But when I imported all my songs they all went into the music folder and all of my playlist folders are gone.
Do I need to recreate all the playlist folders and resort every song??? Or is there an easier way of doing this???

    Whatever you did, reverse it.
What instructions did you read that said to enable root to do this?

IOS is the operating system for an iPhone, or an iPad, I assume you mean OSX as this is a Mac forum.
What version did you update from, and to.

Mail application is still there. All of my emails and folders are gone since iCloud. How can I get them back using Snow Leopard? Or can I? Do I have to wait for Mountain Lion?

I need to check a few other things...
Click on 'Mail' in the upper left corner next to the Apple ()
    Click Preferences
    Click the 'Accounts' tab
Make sure your iCloud account is highlighted in the column on the left.
In the account information section what does it say next to:
    Incoming Mail Server?
    Outgoing Mail Server?
Also, did you use MobileMe before the iCloud?

  • Playlist folders are supported on the new Nano! (and Classic)

    Hi folks,
You may have noticed that in iTunes 7.4, playlist folders now show up when selecting which playlists to sync to your iPod. Originally, people thought this was just cosmetic on the iTunes side.
I am here to tell you now that it is not just cosmetic. The same folders that you create on iTunes will be ALSO shown on your new Nano (and Classic I assume). Previously, the navigation was:
    Playlists->Playlist
    Now it is:
    Playlists->Folder->Playlist
Which also means you can hit Play on the Folder and it will play every playlist within that folder!

Anyone able to figure out how the ipod sorts playlists within folders?
On my itunes I have a folder of playlists for audiobooks. Within that, there's another folder for each nano and then playlists for the books on that nano. In ITunes, they appear in alphabetical order by playlist name, but on the Nano, it seems random: Here's a sample:
    Beaton
    Bond
    Brett
    Fletcher
    Lippman
    Robb
    Stout
    Crais?
    Wren
    Truman?
    Any suggestions would be appreciated.

  • I changed my main username. Now all my folders are gone. I have timemachine. Can I undo what I've done?

I followed the mac instructions using root user to change my home username - it's like the computer reset. All my files are gone, but are in timemachine. I know I can reset them one by one, but would rather revert to the old username, Is that possible. I really need to get a hold of my Logic files. Thanks

    Whatever you did, reverse it.

  • IMail folders are gone from "On My Mac" section?! HELP!

My "On My Mac" section is turned on in my iMail so that I can drag some folders into there to archive my emails. I had a ton of folders in there. But recently, I just noticed that under "On My Mac" section now, there is a folder that says "Recovered Messages" and when I clicked on it, NOTHING is in there. Where are all my archived folders??? I saved alot of archived mail in there, where did they go and why did this happen?
Any help or tips would be SO helpful.

    Hey Kappy,
I don't think I communicated this properly in my original post.
The 5 mailboxes I deleted from the "On My Mac" section of the sidebar where in fact deleted by Ctrl-clicking each one and selecting Delete.
After closing Mail, I took a look in the Mail folder an found that 2 of the 5 were in fact totally gone but the remaining three are still listed but now empty.
I then opened and closed Mail a couple of times and restarted my computer once and they were still present.
After you last message, I moved the 3 empty .mbox files out of the Mail folder to a temp location and since then after several times opening and closing Mail and 2 computer restarts they have NOT returned and Mail seem to continue to function and all of the other mailboxes in the On My Mac section are still present and populated.
I was just curious why after deleting 5 mailboxes, only two were completely removed and the other three were only emptied.
Thanks for you assistance by the way . . .
    John

  • Some of my folders are gone and I don't know why

It's just like any other day, I turn on my computer and its seems like everything was restored to factory settings, but my applications are still here. The only things I've found that were wiped out are my music and pictures folder. Is there anyway i can get my songs and photos back?

I have to agree with Al, however should you get into a fight tell anyone else that "I" won!
Just do not tell anyone that "Me and myself just got the tar beat out them and I win"...

  • I changed my user name on Yahoo, now all my folders are gone.  How to fix?

I use ipad mail for 4 email accounts.  In Yahoo, I created personal folders with things I cannot afford to lose.  I changed mu user name & password with Yahoo, so now all those folders don't show up with new user name.  I contacted Yahoo, they said they were able to restore this data.  When I checked on ipad, nothing.  But my iMac showed all my mail accounts correctly, and under Yahoo, my folders were all there.  Now somehow, I've messed it up again.  Can't see those folders on iMac or ipad.  How can I fix this?  I'm not familiar with iMac as much as ipad.  Any step by step instructions would be so appreciated!

  • How do I restore playlist folders from iPod classic to iTunes? The library is intact, but the playlists are not and I don't want to rebuild them from scratch!

After reformatting my HD and reimporting all songs back into iTunes succesfully, the playlist folders are gone and I don't want to rebuild them from scratch. How do I restore playlists from iPod classic to iTunes 11.1.3 without resorting to 3rd party options?

I actually tried that in "my computer" by renaming the drive and then got this:
    g-raid (F:) (H:)
then after reading your reply realized I should try renaming it in "disk management" and hey! it worked.
Thanks a lot for the advice.
Now I don't understand why my back-up drive isn't automatically adding the files when I import into the Ex-HD but I'll figuree it out.

  • I burned iPhoto to a folder and now my folders/albums are gone in iPhoto

I decided to burn a folder of all my photos in iPhoto as I was having a problem with iPhoto creating new, untitled subfolders everytime I put photo's in a folder. I thought that I should back everything up and then take the next step to reloading iPhoto. I have had a problem with iPhoto since I bought my computer and took it into the genius bar twice and they they remotely came into my computer. It seemed to stump all of them, although the remote session was the best help. Since I have over 32,000 photos, I think it is time to find out what is really going on with this particular iPhoto. I have been using iPhoto for a very long time on previous computers and never had a problem. I need help before I regret doing something I can't reverse.

I am asking what happened to my folders and albums after backing up my photos by burning a folder to my desktop.
Part of the problem is confusing use of language - since we only have words to communicate with it is critical to use the correct words properly
In iPhoto are you speaking of folders and albums in the source pane on the left? Those are for organizing and are not places but albums are ways of viewing yoru photos and folders are ways of organizing your albums
Not sure what you mean by "burning a folder on the desktop? You "burn" CDs and DVDs - you "export" photos to finder folders on the desktop - is this what you did?
Then exactly what did you do next?
    This makes no sense
Just went back to iPhoto and all of the albums and folders are gone. All the photos are present.
Exporting photos does nothing to a finder folder does absolutely nothing to the source photos within iPhoto
And export (if htat is what you did) is not a way to backup iPhoto - it does backup your photos but not yourorganization
So to help it is critical to know exactly what you did do
And do you have a good current backup of the iPhoto library - you may very well need to use it

  • My folders are no longer showing up in Mail

Since early this morning, I have had issues with my iCloud mail account. As of now I am able to send and receive mail fine, but the folders I used to organize messages are no longer showing up on Mail and my iPhone. Has anyone else been having issues similar to this?

I have a macbook pro 10.6.8, that cannot upgrade to Lion. My folders are gone, and now I cannot send or receive email I've tried doing what this page recommended to no avail. So far, mail is working on my iphone and my ipad, and imac, just not my old macbook pro. I keep getting a prompt to log into my mail. When I put in the password it says it doesn't recognize the password even though I'm putting in the correct password. Somebody help.

  • I just installed ios7 on my iPhone 4s.  It seems to be working fine but all of the apps I had previously installed are gone.  They show up in my app store as purchased, but the shortcuts are gone.  Does anyone know how to get the shortcuts back?  Thanks!

I updated via my iPhone 4s.  The apps were on my iPhone 4s.  That's all the information that I have.  The update to ios7 seems to have gone smoothly - everything else is working, phone texting, email, internet, etc.  But all of the apps I had installed over the past year are no longer showing up as shortcuts.  No facebook, no twitter, no espn, etc.  They are all still listed in my app store as purchased, but the shortcuts and my folders are gone.  Thanks.
