Playlist in Walkman based on a path

Does anyone know how to easy create playlist based on path in SD card? or just select directory to play?
My MP3s/WAVes/FLACs are not well tagged so creating playlist based on metadata is very unusefull.

The phone supports playlists i m3u format which is really based on files so you could create playlists in your computer using for example Winamp or similar software.
Another solution would be to install another music player in the phone. Poweramp can for example display and play music based on files/folders.

  • Empty playlists in Walkman version 8.5.A.0.6!

    Hi
    I recieved the walkaman update about a month or more from now..but i have been facing some serious problems like the 'most played' playlist, 'recently played' playlist, the 'walkman favorites' are always empty no matr how many songs i add or play!
    Although i can create a customized playlist if i want to. And also the sense me is empty too.
    This is very annoying..please fix the issue as soon as possible or tell me a way to deal with it.
    I would also like to bring to notice that i tried uninstalling..reinstalling..clearing cache and the like a million times..still that glitch is persistent even in the factory version i.e. 8.4.A.4.4 which came with kitkat version 4.4.4. Please settle this issue.

    Sorry to hear that you're having issues with playlists.
    I've forwarded this for further investigation. I'm however not able to replicate this issue here. Which phone model and software version do you have Sonu_dash? You can check this under Settings -> About phone.

  • Cannot delete playlist from Walkman

    Hi - Just got a Z1 compact and went to put my micro sd card from my old phone into the sony. Everything is fine except i cannot delete playlists from the My Playlists section of Walkman. The playlists have no content in them, i can't add content to them, and i can't delete them. How do i get rid of them???? Suspect they have to be on the SD somewhere but cannot find them by searching the name or the file type .m3u. Any idea how i find and delete these ghost playlists?? thanks in advance!

    Hi, I'd just like you to know that havin already tried EZ File Manager and manual deletion via USB I still couldn't delete certain non-working tracks from the Walkman app, and although I thought your advice seemed potentially dangerous, I tried it as you're a moderator so I trusted it was some 'combination' that was safe. Anyway, long story short I wiped all the media on my phone and SD, of which there was plenty, amassed over a lot of time (the music in particular). If I can't retrieve backups of the music, I'll be very angry with you. (The photos and videos were mostly backed up recently). I don't know if this was some weird, cruel joke for frustrated clueless phone users (not thinking straight late at night, in my case) but if it was, you've caused me to delete everything, and I hope you're happy with yourself. -Feargal

  • How to update xml content based on resource_view path?

    I am using resource db to store xml documents. I can ftp xml documents into a specific path within resource db. I have a xml schema registered and setup with a xml table. I would like to update a xml document based on a specific resource_view path.
    For example:
    /some/path/mydocument.xml
    I would like to upddate this document using the path "/some/path/mydocument.xml"
    How can this be done using SQL?

    Typically the best way is if you know the name of the default table that contains your document. You do the update on the default table as follows
    update yourTable  t
         set object_value = updateXML(...)
    where ref(t) = (
                     select extractValue(res,'/Resource/XMLRef')
                       from resource_view
                      where equals_path(res,'/some/path/mydocument.xml') = 1
                          )

  • How do I make my radio play a variety like the playlist it's based from?

    I have one main playlist that is my go-to playlist. I have about two hundred songs in this playlist right now, and until two days ago, the radio station that I started from this playlist has played a far-reaching and eclectic mix (just like the playlist) of songs. Over the past couple of day, whenever I go to either the radio section where the radio station is OR start a radio station from that playlist it's playing the same 5-6 bands over and over again. There are around 120-130 artists in the playlist that the created radio station's music is being drawn from, and I am LITERALLY getting The Pixies, Sonic Youth, Radiohead, Smashing Pumpkins, Velvet Underground, the Smiths, and the White Stripes rotating, with a random other artist playing every half hour or so. Now, don't get me wrong, I love half of those groups (no matter how many Smiths songs I 'thumbs down', you won't stop playing them), but there are 120 OTHER artists in this playlist, almost all of which are under Spotify's umbrella of available music. I have found a bit of a workaround by just creating a new playlist with all of the same music, but I will be using that playlist from now on, so the people who have subscribed to the original playlist will no longer be updated when I add new songs. I don't have the time to (and more importantly and obviously, shouldn't have to) inform all of these people of these issues that are being created. How can I continue to use the same playlist and have the radio station go back to playing selections based on the entire catalog of the playlist?

    I feel your pain on this one, I have to do the same thing as you.
    I keep an updated overall playlist but anytime I want to start a radio station I duplicate it and use the new playlist as it appears to give better results.
    I'm not aware of any solution or way to "reset" the radio station unfortunately.

  • Report and navigation tree on same page, report based on navigational path.

    Dear fellow htmldb developers,
    in my application I have one page where my client need to see a report based on the selection they made in the navigational tree on the same page. The tree has this this structure:
    Products
    ---Monitor
    ----- 19"
    ------21"
    When the client clicks Monitor, 19" a report should be generated which shows all the 19" Monitors, so the sql statement for the report should be something like:
    select * from table where pgroup = link1 (monitor) and sgroup = link(2)
    How do I achieve this? Probably by using bindvariables. Can't figure out how to set it up though. Please help.
    Sincerely,
    Peter

  • Can't find Playlists folder to help me stream with Subsonic.

    HI there.
    I’m runnun iTunes 11 on OS 10.8.4.
    I’ve used iTunes constantly for many years and do tons of library organization, have made hundreds of playlists, have a massive library with relatively few problems (in recent years at least) and use home sharing to stream to Apple TV, controlled with iPhone and iPad.
    I want to use Subsonic for long distance streaming, and setting it up to find the music files was no problem, they are on an external drive, the the rest should be on my main drive.   But I’ll be dang - diddley - anged if i can find the folder containing my playlists.
    Subsonic’s default suggested path is /Users/Shared/Playlists.   (Shouldn’t it say iTunes in there somewhere?)  My Users/Shared folder has folders for other app’s like Adobe, but nothing for iTunes or Playlists.
    Under my own Username there is Music, and iTunes within that, but here’s where it gets weird and messy. The only folder with a promising name within, iTunes Playlists, contains only about a dozen xml files of specific playlists I exported to use with a label maker, and co-responding folder called Playlist Acoustica Labels, with a handful of similarly named files.
    Searching in Finder, the only folders with Playlists in the name are within the location: Username/Music/beaTunes/   Besides a few that were obviously custom named by me within BeaTunes,  there is one called iTunes Library (biglong#insidebrackets), and another simply called Playlists.   This final folder has a copy of what looks something like my libraries playlists, but from 2 years ago, when I last even tried to really use BeaTunes; the playlist .m3u8 files are all dated as last modified in 2011, with folders and playlists I’ve since deleted, and nothing new created since then.  (The only files that are updated for this morning are de-highlted .DS_Store files, whatever the heck those are.)
    By the way, the reason I stopped trying to use BeaTunes was it never worked for me, not once.  After taking like, seriously, hours to load my library, I had it generate a custom list based on a sample track, and it produced other tracks from the same album.  That was $40 or however much well spent.  Anyone with a  huge library ever have any luck with it?  What a waste.
    Anyway, those are seriously the only folders I can find anywhere called Playlists.   I’ve been surfing Apple Support Pages and various forums for answers, and nothing is clearing anything up.  (Of course there is the red herring hits from people referring to the Playlist Folders *inside iTunes you create to group actual playlists,*  but nothing else than similar dead ends regarding system folders with playlist files.
    Some of the typically mystifying Apple genius/whatever pages seem to be directing me towards a file within iTunes Media called iTunes Music Library.xml (and with Backup in the name just before .xml, and some other variations of old versions of the same.   The doc’s and some posters seem to indicate that these contain all the iTunes metadata.  I tried directing Subsonic to this file, and to the folder containing it, but nothing ever changes; Subsonic’s Home Screen always shows all my artists, but nothing under Playlists.
    I saw something about another file called iTunes Libary.itl as a companion to .xml, and I tried that one too nothing.  The iTunes Media > iTunes file I’ve found much of this in DID, by the way, have what looked like all of the apps that I’ve bought, probably all my iPhone Voice Notes, and a group of E-music mp3’s I downloaded when my external drive hook up was not working, redirecting my library to the Main HD before I switched it back and copied all those files to the correct music location..  So the evidence say this iTunes location is running the  media on the external drive, and can’t find anything for iTunes on the external except for the music files.
    I’m just stumped.  I wish there was a way to right click a playlist name, like you can a song in iTunes, and select “Show file in Finder.”  But I tried it, right clicking does nothing.  So I’m out of ideas.
    Oh yeah, I also have an app running that makes invisible files visible.  That didn’t help either.  Man I’m just out of ideas here.  Something so simple, but then I’ve seen Mac complicate simple things before with no warning or disregard, so I’m hoping someone knows something to help me find where these things live.  This thing has devoured my Sunday morning.
    Any and all help and assistance is greatly appreciated.  Thanks all.
    Best,
    Brian

    Dear Brian:
    Create a Play List in iTunes.
    Control-Click and open "Export" in the highlighted Playlist in iTunes.
    With "Export" opened:
    1. Click on "Format" and choose "M3U";
    2. In "Save As" name your "WhatEverNamePlaylist.m3u"; and
    3. In "Where" tell the program where to send your "WhatEverNamePlaylist.m3u".
    You are done creating the Playlist.m3u in iTunes.
    Open "Subsonic Web Page".
    Left hand column open "Import playlist".
    In "Import playlist" click "Choose File" and open the "WhatEverNamePlaylist.m3u"; you created in iTunes.
    The "WhatEverNamePlaylist.m3u" should now occupy the space between "Choose File" and "OK".
    Click "OK".
    The file should now be in the "Playlist" on the left.

  • Sort by Path and Filename - What does a guy have to do?

    Hello all,
    First post here and such, but as the title reads. I have been using iTunes since early versions of 7 when I aquired my used 2gen Mini.
    In a past incident where people were attaching viruses to the ID3 Tags (see: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Talk:ID3#Virusesin_ID3tags) I took the liberty (stupidity) of stripping all my ID3 tags from my music directory due to that security fault at the time, but also because all of them (the tags) were horridly inputted to the files.
    As iTunes users we can see the bad mistake I made, so now when I add a folder/directory to iTunes they just get sent to the bottom of the iTunes 'music list'.
    'Sort by path and Filename' would do wonders in organization of these untagged files. When adding an entire genre or folder, all **** breaks loose and there are the typical 40 tracks of '01 - songname' '02 - songname' and so on.
    This is where the rant part comes in. Here we are on Version 7.4.3.1 and Apple still hasnt added this minute feature to iTunes.
    I have to use Yahoo! Musicmatch (yuck) to sort and rename my files, only then to re-import them back into iTunes. I dont really care for that software (yahoo) for anything except sorting. Because it adds the actual folder to the viewable list and allows for batch renaming of directories and ID3 Tag renaming of entire albums/directories. I am not so concerned over the actual filename itself, but at least sorting by Path in iTunes would be nice so that I could give the files their proper ID3 Tags.
    Cmon Cupertino, this one isnt that hard.
    Thank you for your time.

    You have several options -- two of which I'll outline below (neither built-in to iTunes, sorry)
    1) Use an external program to write ID3 tags based on the path/filename. One such program is "MP3Tag" (http://mp3tag.de/en)
    2) I wrote a program that with put the path in the Description field. You select the playlist -- then for every track in the playlist it changes the Description to the path. NOTE: I do NOT recommend that you select the "Library" playlist because it will overwrite existing descriptions for TV Shows, podcasts, etc. You can limit it to music by selecting the "Music" playlist.

    hi, i was wonderin if i can set up my itunes sortin columns SORT BY LOCATION or FILE PATH(like windows media player), ive just started using itunes but all my songs are being organized by folder in different location. if someone can tell me how i can sort my songs by location it would be great!

    In order to update the Artist and Album names efficiently
    Oh, why didn't you say so? That's a different problem There are several pieces of software that will automatically update the ID3 tag of files based on their path. Personally I like Mp3tag:
    http://www.mp3tag.de/en/
    In any case, I do not know how to use the script file that you so generously provided, and will appreciate some instruction.
    If you still want to use it, all you have to do is download the script (i.e. save it to your local computer), then double-click it to run it. You'll be prompted to select a playlist. You can select the "Music" playlist to do all your Music, or select a smaller playlist if you just want to test it out. The script will then update the Description of that playlist to the filepath.

  • Search c:\ drive and return file path for winword.exe and save as variable

    Hi all, here is what I'm trying to do;
    1. Search C:\ drive for winword.exe
    2. take the file path and save it as a variable.
    3. Then based on the path value, use the switch statement to run "some command"
    Essentially I'm trying to find what the file path for winword.exe is, then run a command to modify the registry.  I already have the script that will modify the registry like I want but the problem it, the path is hard coded in the script, I want to
    now look for all versions of word and set the right file path so I can make the right registry changes.

  • My Windows 7 laptop had to be reset to factory settings and iTunes was wiped. I have all my songs and playlists on my iPod. Is there anyway to transfer the songs back over, but storing the number of plays I have and carrying across my playlists too?

    My laptop had a few problems and it had to be reset to factory settings. Meaning my iTunes was wiped clean and I had to reinstall it. My previous iTunes (and current iPod nano) has 13 playlists, over 2000 songs and a record of plays going back 2 years (which i would like back since a lot of my playlists are play based).
    I've followed guides online, and i've managed to get my songs from my iPod to my computer and thus onto iTunes again. But neither the play count, nor the playlists are transferring with these methods.
    Considering when I first bought this laptop I had to redo all my playlists and I KNOW how time consuming and bloody annoying it was I'd rather not do it again.
    Is there anyone that can give me a step by step guide of how to do this?
    I would GREATLY appreciate this, as at current i'm refusing to sync my iPod again as I am so desperate to cling onto the playlists and plays I have, which means no new songs...
    Please help if you can.

    The Ipod works fine.
    Battery charges regularly with the occasional glitch.
    Running iTunes 11.1.1.11
    I figured a Nano would probably connect in a simpler way than the touch, but only have a couple computers and cables to test.
    I've reinstalled iTunes, but not the full suite, and not all traces. I will attempt this, but I suspect its related to my touch. I was able to connect other iphones to my itunes without issue, using the same cable.

  • How to get the local file system path of an image that loaded into the image component in cq5?

    Hi,
    I'm having hard time uploading image from filesystem where as drag and drop works.
    I'm not getting a path of image selected from filesystem.
    here is my code..
    private String populateImage() throws Exception {
                        if (currentNode != null && currentNode.isNode()) {
                                       Node ImageNode = JcrResourceUtil.createPath(currentNode, "image",
                                                                          null, "nt:unstructured", true);
                                       imageUrl = ImageNode.hasProperty("fileReference") ? ImageNode.getProperty("fileReference").getValue().getString() : "";
           imageUrl = imageUrl.trim();
            log.info("MANAGE PROFILE BEAN IMAGE URL INSIDE IF IS: " + imageUrl);
                        } else {
                                            imageUrl = properties.get("fileReference", "");
                                            imageUrl = imageUrl.trim();
                                            log.info("MANAGE PROFILE BEAN IMAGE URL INSIDE ELSE IS: " + imageUrl);
                        return imageUrl;
    So if I drag and drop..
    ImageNode.hasProperty("fileReference") is returning a valid path
    but if I upload an image  it is returning Null.
    So how to get the path? any suggestions around would be appreciated...

    When you say path you mean you want the path to print out in your HTML? Is that accurate? If so you generally need to constructe that path based on the path to the current component. So if you component is located at /content/mysite/en/about/mypage/jcr:content/parsys/image then the path to the image would generally be something like /content/mysite/en/about/mypage/jcr:content/parsys/image.img.jpg/1283829292873.jpg. The .img. selector triggers the servlet associated with the foundation parbase - /libs/foundation/components/parbase/img.GET.java. The reason you reference it this way is that there is no filesystem path to the image - it is stored in the repository not on the file system, and it requires a servlet or script to ge the binary from the repository and steam it.
    Normally the way you'd construct this is to use the out of the box Image class - so look at /libs/foundation/components/image/image.jsp. Now this example assumes that your component where you loaded the image extends /libs/foundation/components/parbase. If it doesn't then you either have to change your sling:superResourceType to /libs/foundation/components/parbase or some other component that does exten /libs/foundation/components/parbase.

  • Smart playlists not updating to iPod in iTunes 7

    I've just upgraded to the latest iTunes 7 on my home PC - which runs windows XP. After completing the upgrade, and synchronising to my 3G ipod, not all smart playlists have come over. This seems to be any smart playlist that are based on some kind of date - such as date last played, or date added. Has anyone else experienced this? Any ideas on how to fix this?

    Patrick,
    I listened to "Chocolate Jesus" by Tom Waits on my way home from school tonight. I just synced up to my desktop. In iTunes I see the "last played" field has been updated with tonight. It isn't showing up in my smart playlist, but it is still on the iPod and on the iPod selection playlist in iTunes.
    I don't know how to paste an image onto this posting, so I'll describe what's on the smart playlist window when I'm editing GenInfuser.
    [Checked] Match [all] of the following rules:
    Play Count is less than 5
    My Rating is not **
    My Rating is not *
    My Rating is not ***
    Playlist is GenCore
    [checked] Limit to 1750 MB selected by least recently played
    [] Match only checked items
    [checked] Live updating.
    Here's what I see for GenStation (the smart playlist that is supposed to be synced to the iPod):
    [checked] Match any of the following rules:
    Playlist is GenInfuser
    Playlist is GenSprinkler
    [] Limit to ...
    [] Match only checked items
    [Checked] Live updating
    I just tried checking "Limit to" 1750 MB least recently played on GenStation and it didn't start copying over new music. Actually it copied over 9 tunes. There's at least a couple hundred tunes that have been recently played on the iPod and several times that many on iTunes that have never been played.
    I guess the other pertinent info is that I've got a 4 GB nano and I'm running iTunes 7.0.2.16.
    Thanks for your help, Patrick.
    Mad Dave

  • Do Auto-Updating Smart Playlists really work?

    I followed the old thread about auto-updating smart playlists not updating automatically on the iPod. Apparently the 2006-1-10 update fixes it, but some smart playlists still aren't updating for me. The simple rating-based playlists work (they update), but more complex smart playlists such as this don't work:
    Match All Following Rules:
    Podcast is true
    Playcount is 0
    Time is less than 11:00
    Kind contains audio
    According to this support document: http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=301910 smart playlists should update based on any criteria, but I'm not seeing that. Am I doing something wrong? What types of smart playlists have people gotten to work?
    Thanks.

    I've posted a better version of this thread in the "Using the iPod with color display" forum.
    APPLE DISCUSSION ADMINS: Please delete this thread. Thanks!
