Playlist made on iPad don't show on apple tv3

I have an Apple TV three and when I make a playlist on my iPad it never shows up on the playlist on my Apple TV why is this and how do I correct it?
I have match and home Sharing all turned on everything else works.

Ok, the email option isn't quite an option due to file sizes, but might work for others with smaller files.
On the other option, I had to use the file menu-->devices-->transfer purchases
i don't  have A "sidebar" in the version of iTunes I am using (11.3.1) so I couldn't figure out where to control click. The ipad name shows up on top, and didn't do anything when clicked except 'eject' the ipad. (Not literally).
the only thing was these weren't purchases, so I didn't think that would work. They were downloads (like the owners manual for my minivan, they don't give a true users manual anymore and the cd version was horrible).  Odd behavior in my opinion. It should do this automatically when it syncs I would think.
anyways, it did work using that method. Thanks alot

These errors are typically resolved by performing one or more of the steps listed below:
Perform USB isolation troubleshooting, including trying a different USB port directly on the computer. See the advanced steps below for USB troubleshooting.
Put a USB 2.0 hub between the device and the computer.
    Try a different USB 30-pin dock-connector cable.
    Eliminate third-party security software conflicts.
There may be third-party software installed that modifies your default packet size in Windows by inserting one or more TcpWindowSize entries into your registry. Your default packet size being set incorrectly can cause this error. Contact the manufacturer of the software that installed the packet-size modification for assistance. Or, follow this article by Microsoft: How to reset Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) to reset the packet size back to the default for Windows.
Connect your computer directly to your Internet source, bypassing any routers, hubs, or switches. You may need to restart your computer and modem to get online.
Try to restore from another known-good computer and network.

What can I do, iPad disabled/lockout and iTunes keeps asking for password, I cannot restore...iTunes grays out backup and restore but my iPad and iPod shows on Apple etc..???

Try and force iPad into Recovery Mode:
    1. Turn off the device: Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button for a few seconds until the red slider appears, then slide the slider. Wait for the device to turn off.
If you cannot turn off the device using the slider, press and hold the Sleep/Wake and Home buttons at the same time. When the device turns off, release the Sleep/Wake and Home buttons.
    2. Connect USB cable to computer, leave the other end alone
    3. Press and hold the Home button down and connect the docking end of cable to iPad
    4. Continue holding the Home button until you see the "Connect To iTune" screen
    5. Release the Home button
    6. Open iTune
    7. You should see "iTunes has detected an iPad in recovery mode"
    8. Use iTune to restore iPad
Note: You need to be patient and repeat the above many times to recover your iPad

  • Iphone and ipad don't show up in left column of new iTunes

I recently installed the new iTunes version.
I don't understand how to "manually manage music and videos". How do I copy a file of music or an ap from iTunes to the iPhone or iPad? They don't show up now in the left hand column that lists the playlists. I don't see how to drag something to the device.
Both the iPad and the iPhone appear in the upper right corner of the iTunes screen. I can click there and see the summary of memory use and options on the device. I can also see both of them as disk drives in "my computer." I can drag photos from the folder that shows up there onto my computer.

They don't show up in the left sidebar or you don't see the left sidebar? Press Ctrl+S
Where you say you can see the device click the device name to open the settings page
    Hope that helps

  • .pdf files in iBooks on my iPad don't show in iBooks on my iMac. Why?

when i installed iBooks on my iMac, only my purchased books show in the library.  PDF files I stored in iBooks on my iPad are not showing. Any ideas how I sync the pdf files?  They use a common Apple ID and I use iCloud for the iPad backup.

Did you try using the transfer purchase feature of iTunes? I know that these may not be purchased PDF files, and it is only supposed to work with iTunes purchases, but I have done this myself with PDF files in iBooks.
iTunes Store: Transfer purchases from your iOS device or iPod to a computer
This feature works only for audio, video, and apps that you purchased from the iTunes Store. Any items that you imported from audio CDs or acquired from other sources won't copy from your device to the iTunes library. However, copies of all PDFs and books from your device's iBooks app will transfer to the computer, regardless of whether they were purchased from the iBooks Store. • Subtitles don't show on Apple TV 3

I'm using a Apple TV for a few years now and I never had this problem before.
I play mp4 files from my macbook pro to Apple TV 3. I mux in the subtitles myself using programs like Subler and MP4Tools from SRT to Tx3g.
But when I play the file on my Apple TV the subtitles don't show. I have selected them in Captions, like always, but nothing. With one file only the first few lines were shown but later disappeared. Some files play without problems.
If I play the files on different media the subtitles show without problems
Does anyone have the same issue or a solution for this problem?

I noticed if I play the file in iTunes I get the same problem

  • The iPad screen only shows an apple every 3 seconds. what is wrong?

Screen shows apple every three seconds.I cannot turn it off. the iPad2 is recognized by itunes when connected to computer. Will not start up or shut down.

If it keeps showing the Apple Logo every few seconds, then it is continuously trying to reload the iOS, but somehting is making it restart.  Normally, a failure should make the iPad boot into recovery mode automatically, but you may have a hardware issue that needs service.
    Try this before getting service:
    1) Plug the iPad into the computer and open iTunes.
    2) Hold the Power Button and Home button simultaneously for 10 seconds, then release the Power button but continue holding the Home button for 20 more seconds or until the iTunes symbol shows on the iPad's screen.
    3) Restore the iPad using iTunes on the computer.
If you do not get the iTunes symbol on the iPad and continue to see the Apple Logo over and over even while trying these steps, your iPad will need service to get it fixed.

  • Books on ipad don't show in ibooks

how do you move pdf items  downloaded from the internet into ibooks on an ipad into ibooks on the mac? Can't seem to figure it out, and don't see any posts about this when I search here on the forums.
I can see the books I downloaded online while on my ipad, in iTunes on my mac. But only under the "books" section in iTunes. Not in the "sync selected books" section.
When I use the "import books from iTunes" in ibooks, it doesn't move any of my new pdf books over, it says it is moving a bunch of stuff, but it is only the original books I moved over when I first used ibooks on this new computer,
i have tried syncing the ipad to the computer (normally to icoud). But that doesn't do anything To what ibooks can see.
    Thanks

  • Playlist created in iPad but not showing on iPhone?

I have had iTunes Match for couple years now and no issues till today -- purchased a new tune on iPad and then created a new playlist with new song and others already purchased - the new song shows up on iPhone, but not the newly created playlist ? It is only on my iPad where I created it ??

    Welcome to the Apple Community.
You can re-download content purchased from the app store using the purchased option which is revealed by tapping the updates option at the bottom of the screen of the App store app on your iOS device.

  • Sent items from ipad don't show up in entuorage

I noticed that when I send mails from the ipad they would not show up afterwards in the sent items of entourage. At the same time once I use entourage all items from the inbox on my ipad disappear. Does anyone know what I need to do to get this work?

POP by definition doesn't "share" folders. Sent messages from one machine are invisible to another. Messages deleted on one machine are gone, period. IMAP, used by MobileMe and Gmail, may be better for your needs. I don't use Yahoo mail, but I'd be surprised if this weren't "working as intended" (by them, if not by you.)

  • IPhone and iPad don't show up in Windows 7 iTunes

Using iTunes 10.6.1.7 on my Windows 7 machine I can no longer see my iPhone or iPad when directly connected via USB (I can't see them wirelessly either but that's not the issue).
I wish I could say when this started, but it's been at least a month and I don't normally connect either device to iTunes (because most of my music is already on the iPhone and because I use DropBox to transfer files to my iPad).  It doesn't appear related to anything new I've done in Windows myself (might have been automatic updates but nothing I've installed or changed in Windows).
I DID try completely uninstalling iTunes using the procedures outlined by Apple (even manually editing directories to remove traces) and then installed the latest version of iTunes which works well (sees all my Airtune devices, for example) otherwise.  I can see the iPhone in Explorer all right, just not in iTunes.
I've also tried disabling MacAfee AV and Firewall (there is no Windows firewall) with no luck.  I *did* install a new router a month ago but since my PC does see the iPhone in Explorer I can't see why that would be an issue.
Any clues as to what to try next?  My fallback position is to use my Macbook Air to connect to iTunes (of course it always works) but since all my music is stored on the PC (with no way to store all that data on my Macbook Air) I'm rather screwed if I go that route.

Sigh.  Now it seems to be working.
The *only* thing I did was to go to the router and open up port 3689 (for iTunes sharing) and reboot my machine.  Now, I'm skeptical this had anything to do with "fixing" anything because my wife's computer (also using the same router) syncs just fine with her iPhone and always has.  Now, it's true she's on Win XP, but opening a port on a router (following a VERY old article that Apple said was no longer supported) for iTunes sharing doesn't seem like it would do much in the way of letting me see my iPhone (except that it did).
(I opened up the port because I was thinking that perhaps my Macbook Air could sync my iPhone IF I could link it to my PC iTunes library -- that's when I found out I couldn't share it until I did the above and then suddenly all started working fine).
All of this crap makes me feel like the very old man I am (it really shouldn't be this difficult).  But thanks for listening.

  • Playlists made in iTunes do not show up in iPhone

Do not tell me to reboot, restore, or delete anything from anything.
I have had iTiunes since forever, and have had no trouble syncing things from here, there, hither and yon. By cloud, desktop, from my backside. But lately - I mean in the last two months, and no I will not talk about software versions because that truly is not relevant, my software is all up to date everywhere - my iTunes playlists (on desktop) will not sync, be mirrored to, or even be recognized by my iPhone.
Yes, the network is active. Yes, I've tried it with match on and off. Yes, I'm sure it's all on the same login and account. It works on my Apple TV, but not my phone. It worked on my old iPhone, but I upgraded, and since then, I have sh*t for aught on my new device. I've tried it with match on and of, show hidden on and off, every damned thing on and off.
I'm interested in hearing from people who've had something similar and solved it, not potshots such as 're-register' or 'delete' or 'restore'. I've tried that. It doesn't ******* work. That's why I'm asking.

Not sure why this solved it for me but I clicked the "+" button at the bottom of the side bar to add a New Playlist.  When the new playlist was created all of my previously existing playlists reappeared.  Hope this helps.
