  • Playlists not transfering to ipod

I have a 4th generation ipod and new music is transferred from itunes to ipod no problem. But new/modified playlists are not. Don't see any settings to modify on itunes or ipod. Any advice? Thanks!

    Selet the iPod in iTunes.
Click on the Music tab at top and select Sync all playlists.

  • Smart Playlists not updating on iPod

    Hi,
I have a couple very simple smart playlists, basically one for each podcast i listen to the smart playlist picks out the podcasts of a specific name that are unplayed.
if I look at the smart playlists in the platlist pane of iTunes they contain the proper contents (say 3 episodes of TWIT I haven't listened too) but on my Nano they will be empty or cotain only a partial list of correct content.
I have Itunes set to auto sync, even tried manual sync still no luck.
    Any ideas?
BTW, I'm using the latest version of iTunes and OS X on a dual 2.0 GHz G5

    Well -
    - I was being polite. It's not only "not cool", but its goes against Apple's Terms of Use. It is also not necessary to bump after just two hours. This is a worldwide forum and it's possible that someone with the answer to your question is asleep on the other side of the world to you at the time you posted and repeatedly bumped.
If you had browsed throught the other threads here, you would have noticed that you're not the only one to be having issues with Playlists changes not transferring to your iPod. In fact, the number of posts about it suggests to me that there is a problem as a result of iOS7.
So you can do two things, should you wish:
    Look through recent discussions about Playlist update problems (rather than the "more like this" section, which will give you results prior to iOS7) to see if anyone has figured out a solution;
Wait for the next update to iOS7 and see if that fixes it.

  • Playlists not copying to ipod?

okay. so i had a bunch of playlists i created on my ipod for the longest time.
and just recently, after adding some more music onto my ipod, a memo came up saying it could no longer sync playlists to my ipod, due to the large amount of music etc. on itunes/my ipod.
i tryed a few things [deleting some older music, restoring the entire ipod, deleting a few playlists..] nothing worked.
itunes created one playlist..called Seasons Ipod Selection..and in that playlist is approx. 820 of my 890 songs.
so now, the only songs that copy over to my ipod are the ones that are in that playlist.
theres an extra 70 songs on itunes, that will not copy to my ipod unless i manually put them into that playlist.
is there some sort of option or something that allows me to get my playlists back on my ipod?
    help?

Are you using the autosync function? If so, check and make sure that the one playlist that keeps syncing isn't the only one that is set to sync. Look at the music tab (on the iPod name section that includes the summary page) to check this. If that is the only playlist showing a check mark to be synced then that is why it is happening. If that is the case you can set it to sync playlists (specific ones if that's what you want or just autosync playlists without choosing specifics). You can also choose to manually manage your iPod so that you can manually add the playlists that you want.

  • Playlist not transferring properly to iPod

Can anyone tell me why my playlists from my computer are not updating on my iPod? Specifically, I have a playlist "Christmas". There are two songs on my computer list that are not showing up in the same list on my iPod. I have tried syncing numberous times but the songs are still missing. Anyone know how to fix this? The songs themselves are on the iPod, just not in the Smart List.

D'oh! My fault. I was doing a backup instead of a sync. Never mind.

  • ITunes purchases not showing in iTunes and not transferring to iPod shuffle

I Have been using ipod shuffles for several years as they are small and convenient for running. I have purchased 175 songs on iTunes and been forced to purchase FIVE iPod shuffle devices because the battery life in all five devices degrades after approximately 40 re-charges to the point that I only get 15 minutes battery time after a full charge. This is occurring on every iPod shuffle I have bought inclusing the latest one which is only two months old. A couple of weeks ago, I purchased several applications for my iPad and several new songs. I receive emails after each purchase. However, when I looked at my iTunes account, it showed all the items as a single item purchase and the songs were not even showing up as purchased or in my play list. This tells me that someone at Apple accounting is manually adjusting purchases and not itemizing them and the songs were not even given to me. I had to reinstall my entire iTunes program and they had to reinsert the new songs into my purchased playlist. That is why I couldn't transfer my songs onto my iPod shuffle. Now, with the latest IOS 8.3 update, I am getting all sorts of service problems like it says each time I turn on my laptop that I have inserted a CD or DVD, select the times I want to burn. It was never doing that before. It is also giving me all these warnings too:
BookmarkDAV_client.exe - entry point not found
The procedure entry point objc_exception_try_enter could not be located in e dynamic link library objc.dll.
    icloudServices.exe entry point not found
The procedure entry point objc_exception_try_enter could not be located in e dynamic link library objc.dll
Apple photo streams.exe entry point not found, etc,
I purchased four new iTunes songs yesterday and only one of them transferred into my iPod shuffle. I am so tired and frustrated with the endless defects in Apple Products, that soon I am just going to say ENOUGH AND COMPLETELY STOP USING ALL APPLE PRODUCTS.

The "Purchased" playlist you see on the right can be a little misleading. It's not mean to show all of the purchases you've ever made. To download (or just see) what a particular has previously purchased used this resource. http://support.apple.com/kb/ht2519

  • Smart playlists not updating to iPod in iTunes 7

I've just upgraded to the latest iTunes 7 on my home PC - which runs windows XP. After completing the upgrade, and synchronising to my 3G ipod, not all smart playlists have come over. This seems to be any smart playlist that are based on some kind of date - such as date last played, or date added. Has anyone else experienced this? Any ideas on how to fix this?

    Patrick,
I listened to "Chocolate Jesus" by Tom Waits on my way home from school tonight. I just synced up to my desktop. In iTunes I see the "last played" field has been updated with tonight. It isn't showing up in my smart playlist, but it is still on the iPod and on the iPod selection playlist in iTunes.
I don't know how to paste an image onto this posting, so I'll describe what's on the smart playlist window when I'm editing GenInfuser.
[Checked] Match [all] of the following rules:
Play Count is less than 5
    My Rating is not **
    My Rating is not *
    My Rating is not ***
    Playlist is GenCore
[checked] Limit to 1750 MB selected by least recently played
    [] Match only checked items
    [checked] Live updating.
Here's what I see for GenStation (the smart playlist that is supposed to be synced to the iPod):
[checked] Match any of the following rules:
    Playlist is GenInfuser
    Playlist is GenSprinkler
    [] Limit to ...
    [] Match only checked items
    [Checked] Live updating
I just tried checking "Limit to" 1750 MB least recently played on GenStation and it didn't start copying over new music. Actually it copied over 9 tunes. There's at least a couple hundred tunes that have been recently played on the iPod and several times that many on iTunes that have never been played.
I guess the other pertinent info is that I've got a 4 GB nano and I'm running iTunes 7.0.2.16.
    Thanks for your help, Patrick.

  • Smart playlists not updating on iPod Touch

Smart playlists based on "Play Count" or "Last Played" don't seem to work on my iPod Touch. I've got a smart playlist setup to list the tracks of an audiobook that have a play count of 0. On my iPod Classic, I could listen to this playlist and when a track finished, it would be removed from the playlist, making it easy to get back to where I was on the audiobook. On my iPod Touch, the smart playlist doesn't update until I sync with iTunes.
    Anybody else having this problem?
    Scott

I have a smart playlist of podcasts syced to my iPod Touch that has worked with iOS 3 and works with iOS 4, using the settings described here: http://bit.ly/c9GoOF . The key is to check "Live updating". Once the podcast finishes playing it drops off the playlist as expected.
I had the "bright" idea of also including a playlist identical to the first but with "Live updating" not checked (see http://bit.ly/922a2L ). I did this so that I had a playlist containing the already-played podcasts in case I wanted to go back to listen to them again.
The trouble is that this playlist doesn;t sync properly with iTunes. The only fix I found was to sync twice: Sync once, right-click, edit the Smart playlist, make no changes and press OK, and sync a second time.
    Has anybody seen this behavior?

  • Music in iTunes not transferring to iPod

The music in my iTunes library isn't transferring to my iPod. The smart playlist titles are on my iPod, but the music itself isn't going over there. How so I tansfer it over manually since the automatic iTunes-to-iPod updates aren't doing it?
    Thanks for any help.

I just went through and tried both updating and authorizing my computer to play the music. I have the most recent version, and even after authorizing my computer nothing has changed.
If this helps, even on the iTunes screen, while the music files show up in the iTunes part of the library, the smart lists are empty of the same music files under the iPod listing.
Thanks for the help, perhaps you can provide more?

  • ITunes Genius Playlists not synchronizing to iPod Classic

Does anyone know how to synch a saved Genius playlist to an iPod classic? Since iTunes 9, the saved Genius playlists are appearing under the Genius heading, not the playlist heading. Now, when I synch my iPod, these newly created Genius playlists are not synchronizing to my iPod. Am I doing something wrong, or will I now have to manually create a new playlist and copy the genius playlist into it???

Ok. I found that when it puts the newly created playlist under the genius heading and you want to save it under your playlists, you just click and drag it to the playlist heading and it will copy it there automatically, then synch to the iPod.

  • Video Playlist not available on ipod anymore????

I haven't synced in a few months, I tried recently and all my video playlists that play fine in itunes do not even show up for me to check off to sync when i connect my ipod. The individual video files show up under the movies tab but why can I no longer sync my organized video playlist?

    Have you sent Apple feedback?

  • Photos not transfering to iPod nano 1Gb

For some reason the photos I want on my iPod will not transfer... I have them in a folder, and the iPod options are set so that when I update my iPod, the photos will transfer from their folder. The thing is, whenever I update my iPod, an error pops up saying that I don't have enough space on my iPod to transfer the files. But that makes no sense because the total memory of all the photos is less than 2mb, and my iPod has about 30mb left. Anyone have a clue what's wrong?

Hi, have you enabled Disk Use inside iTunes pref.?

  • Music Not Transfering To Ipod

I was having trouble transfering music to my 30gb Ipod Video. I updated the software to the new Itunes 7.0.2. Tried it again and still having the same problem. The music is on my itunes but isnt transfering onto my ipod. All the old songs are on there, it is just these 2 songs im trying to transfer onto my ipod. Never had this problem before. Please help.

make sure that your ipod settings arent on 'manually
manage music and videos' because if that
is on then when you click 'sync' then
none of the music will go to the ipod, you have to
drag it manually to the ipod
I have checked this and the box isnt checked. The music still isnt transfering to the Ipod.

  • MPEG-4 video file not transferring to iPod

First off, here's a screenshot of the video info: http://a.imageshack.us/img638/9269/lilb.png
I don't know why, but these HD (720p) videos that I save from Youtube will not transfer to my iPod (120GB Classic), I usually get an error saying that the iPod can not play those type of files, but from the looks of the video info, it looks like everything is fine, last I checked, iPods were capable of playing MPEG-4 videos.

    Hello there,
    And welcome to Apple Discussions!
Sometimes your iPod can be pretty picky about what videos it syncs even if they appear to be in the correct and compatible format. Try using iTunes built in converter to convert them to an even more iPod friendly format. To do this, highlight the video in iTunes, and choose *Create iPod or iPhone version* from the Advanced drop down menu. When it has finished converting, try syncing the new version to your iPod and see if that helps. If it does, you can go ahead and delete the original.
