Playlist on Zen Mi

I have recently purchased a Zen Micro and am completely in love with it and the fact that I could find a non-iPod mp3 player that is great. Anyway the only problem Ive been having with it is that when I go to listen to one song, or add one at a time to a current playlist, it likes to add the entire album instead of the selected song. If anyone knows what mightbe causing this your help is greatly appreciated.

Can you describe the procedure you are using to add the files?

  • Creating playlists in ZEN M100

Hello, I have a problem. I want to create a playlist in zen m00, but I have no idea how to do it. When I choose 'Playlist' in menu, there's a massage: 'Please sync play list to the player'...

"Re: Creating playlists in ZEN M00?No, it doesn't. I've tried creating playlist with Winamp, Playlist creator and m3udropper. I've followed the instructions to change encoding from a ansi to unicode. Every try results in "the playlist is empty", although?when I open the playlist with notepad I can se all the songs. This is really anoying since I use the player to listen to audiobooks as well. To listen to the chapters played randomly is obviously not an option! When is the firmware update coming?

  • Creating playlists for ZEN To

Just got the 40 gig Touch and love it. My problem is that creating playlists on the Zen is very cumbersome and I would like to create plylists on my PC as I can run a mouse faster than work on the zen. My zen is loaded with songs and I want to make playlists from those files. Can I make them on the synced up zen through mediasource or do I have to make the playlists and then load the songs? Hope someone understands what I'm getting at and any help would be great. Thanks in advance, Brad

It's easy. First You connect Your Zen Touch to PC, then create playlists through MediaSource, Winamp, Audio Catalyst or whatever software You wish. Of course, You have to add songs to playlist from Your Zen Touch, not PC hard dri've (otherwise how did You consider to create playlists before plugging-in Zen Touch)
For example, if You use MediaSource, follow this:
.first of all open it & find the "View" option on the Toolbar. Click on it & put the mark on "Show Right Panel" - this will give add. window to manage your playlists.
2.Find Your Zen Touch in browser, click on it & find "Playlist" sub-catalog. On the playlist toolbar click "New" to create new playlist.
    3. On the right window, that You opened in Step , find Your Zen Touch again, click on it & You will see all songs that You have in Your player.
    4. To add songs from Your player to the playlist use arrow buttons between the windows.
    I hope that will help

  • Creating Playlist On Zen Micro - Adds Entire Album, Not Selected S

I'm attempting to create a playlist while in my Zen Micro. I have a song playing and go to the song and select "Save as Playlist", and I assign it a name. When I go look at the playlist it has included the entire album in the playlist, not just the selected song. Is there any way of adding single tracks rather than entire albums (other than creating them externally using Creative's software)?
    Thanks....

You have to go to the main menu, select Now Playing, a song should show there, then use the bottom right hand option button (right click) and there should be a selection to clear all from Now Playing. I don't have my Zen Micro here with me so I can't tell you exactly what it says in the menu. Once you have done that you can create a play list and individually add songs to it as above. I did this before the gym yesterday and it worked nicely.Message Edited by bhype23 on 0-9-2005 09:36 PM

  • Playlists on Zen Mi

Even though my Zen Micro is showing 774 songs in the general info page, when I choose the option, "All Tracks" it is only showing 698 songs. I have tried several configurations to have the Zen recognize all the songs to no avail. When I go to System Information it does show memory used etc as well as 774 songs in the content. However when playing all tracks it shows for example Song number 56 of 698 not 56 of 774. Can someone please advise me?
    Thanks

  • How to manage playlist for Zen with Windows 7?

After upgrading to Windows 7 (with WMP2), I noticed that I can no longer make or edit playlists for my 32GB Zen with either WMP2 or the Zen Media Explorer. Anyone know if there is a solution to this, apart from installing another third party media manager?

    I have this problem too.
I can see my playlists, but cant modify them or add to them. I have been using winamp to create and modify new ones, but winamp doesnt recognise old .zpm types. Hopefully someone has found a fix for this... or better yet creative could release a windows 7 compatible media explorer.
I would gladly use another 3rd party media manager if it works with playlists properly on my Zen, but have tried many with no success.

The Media Explorer for the zen micro is not compatiable for Vista I have the same problem.

  • Backing up playlists in Zen Vision M?

So I have a Zen Vision M, and have ended up with a wide variety of duplicated tracks on the device. I've decided, at this point, that it would be simpler to delete everything and copy them back over from my computer. However, I am afraid this will mess up my playlists, which I would rather not re-create. So I am wondering, is there some way I can back up my playlists on my computer?
    Thanks!
    Kaiti

    Hello all:
I have an idea for those who are looking to add album art:
I have yet to see if it works with the Vision:M (mine will be here next week), but I used mediamonkey to add album art to my mp3 catalog (,200+ songs). Its easy to do and you can add art to an entire album of songs at one time. It uses Amazon's database for album art. As long as you have things properly tagged its completely automated (It took me ~.5 hours to ad album art to my entire collection). It will also ask you if you want the picture to be embedded in the id3 tag (which as far as I know you do for the Vision:M). Finally, mediamonkey is a great Mp3 management tool. Its free and you can get it at www.mediamonkey.com.

  • Backing up playlists in Zen V Plus play

Hi all - please does anyone know how to make a backup of the playlists in a Creative Zen V Plus player? Backing up the music is easy - simply copy to the PC and reload once ready. But the playlists? Drag and drop does not seem to work; the playlists will not save to PC like the songs do.
    Any ideas, anyone?

So there is no option in the Zen itself to simply play them in order then.. Crappy. How does the monkey thing work? And do i have to do that to every cd while its still on the computer?
It's just an .mp3 player- it can't be expected to automatically 'know' the order of every CD ever recorded.
If you don't tag it properly, it will sort them in the default order- by number or alphabetically.
ID3 Tags 'tell' it the correct order. You need to tag your .mp3 files correctly if you want the songs in the right order.

  • How to sync playlist in Zen X-Fi?

    Zen X-Fi 32GB
    Software version .04.08, recently installed
    Running Win XP SP3
I need clarification on the proper procedure to sync playlists. I had several playlists on the player that got duplicated. For example Jazz was duplicated during sync as Jazz() and Jazz(2). Rather than edit the playlists I deleted all of them using the delete key on the player. I then tried to transfer current versions of the playlists from Creative Centrale via the Sync Manager. None of the current versions of the playlists will transfer to the player.
I've performed player cleanup per instructions at: http://forums.creative.com/showthread.php?t=208/page/3

After much effort and frustration I've figured out to "transfer" playlists from Creative Centrale to the Zen X-Fi. The problem was that I thought playlists would sync on "automatic sync." Wrong.
Instead, one has to transfer playlists from Creative Centrale manually, apparently one at a time, using the procedure at: http://203.2.42.97:80/srvs/cgi-bin/webcgi.exe/st=273,e=000000000087002422,k=9677,sxi=0,varset=ws :http://uk.europe.creative.com,case=52954
(copy and paste this convoluted link)
I find it very unintuiti've that playlists don't transfer with automatic sync (or even manual sync), especially since the sync manager displays "playlist" as a file category in the file comparison dialogue box.
I hope this and my previous post save someone experiencing this problem hours of frustration that I've endured with this issue.

  • Making playlists in Zen Micr

Can't seem to figure this one out yet...
I've tried creating a playlist on the Zen Micro itself by choosing the 'Save as Playlist' option as a song is playing which is fine until i want to a add a second and more songs to a list i've just begun/named... how do you do that?
Tried uploading a list i already had in WMP0 but nothing showed up under Playlists on the player ?
    Any help appreciated.

With the first issue, there's no direct answer to this. All you can do is queue the existing playlist, then add the tracks to the queue, and save the playlist again. You will have to enter the same name, and you will get a prompt to overwrite the tracks.
For information about getting playlists to sync with WMP0, see this post here.

  • Importing playlists from zen TO

How can I do this? I have a 40gb zen xtra and I would like to put some playlists I have on there to a SD memory card I have for another mp3 player and PDA. I don't see any options for this in the import wizard so I am confused if this can be done. Thanks for any help!!

Launch Creative MediaSource and transfer the playlist from the MP3 Player to MediaSource's PC Music Library. After that, transfer the playlist to your desired media storage. However, the playlist information will not be transferred; only the actual MP3 files are transferred to the desried media storage.

    ps.
Successfully backup all the music files and playlists on the hard dri've but cannot get Creative Media Source to recognize the Vision. XP, device manager acknowledges it and shows up in the windows directory but can't synch there. Media Player sees it as well but it doesn't acknowledge/see my backup playlist files.
    Who's the hero out there?

    - Well I never owned a Touch, but all my other Creative players did show up in explorer.. even when I used MediaSource on windows xp sp2.
The support site also lists it as a possibility.

  • Playlists on Zen Nano or MuVo TX FM using 3rd party softw

    Hi everyone,
I know that the Zen Nano / MuVo TX FM / MuVo N200 do not permit the creation of playlists. But if you use a third party software program like Notmad Explorer, can you create playlists? The features page suggests that you *can* create playlists...
    Thanks!

Somebody recently helped me with this here. With the Nano Plus, anyway, Creative gives you Zen Nano Explorer software. You set up your music on the player in folders, and this is how you navigate to albums, artists, "Playlists" or however you have your folders set up. You can create a folder containing the tracks you want in a "playlist", then this software has a utility that allows you to arrange them in the order you want. It appends the track filename with numbers in that order so your tracks play in the order you picked. It acts exactly like a playlist, except it is another regular folder with another copy of your song in it (it cannot create a pointer to the track elsewhere on your player like a REAL playlist can). These little flash players have very simple menus and structure. They can display the title from the ID3 tag, but can't do anything with genre, album, etc. unless you organize folders this way.
The bottom line is that if you want a selected bunch of tracks to play in a specific order, this can be done, and they include the software to do it with the player.
