PLAYLIST order and SEARCH option

how do i get the playlist to play songs in a specific order
i have renamed all filenames and idtags and still they come in chaos
and another thing: SEARCH option
newer ipods come with the search option (as i read at apple site). i updated my 30G 5th generation ipod to the newest software and didnt get that option. is it possible to get that?

If you are really referring to a "Playlist" then simply physically move the music into the order your want it played. If you are really referring to a "Album" here, then assign a "Track" order in which you want them played.

Sure, buy one of the new iPods. This is a new hardware featue -- not a software feature.

No Security Manager is set to my FSDB repository.
It is not related to viiew. In the KM content when I navigate to details->Settings of my repository, I am not getting the Permission and also Manual Order option.
May be I need to set the Security Manage it seems.

I just read this thread, and maybe someone here can answer my current trex question:
I have created an ordinary CM repository, and created an index with this repository as source. Now the problem: I would like to exclude files in the repository with specific mimetypes from the TREX indexing process.
I have verified that the TrexValidMimetypes.ini does not contain any reference to the Mimetypes I'm creating, but never the less, the document titles are searchable and are returned when searching.
How do I get around this issue?
Is it possible in NW04 or EP6.0 SP3 PXXX??

How to use auto-increment and search option for MS Access DB

Dear All,
I have configured our invoice in Adobe Livecycle and connected it to MS Acess 2007 as per http://forms.stefcameron.com/2006/09/18/connecting-a-form-to-a-database/.
All is working fine, I can insert, retrieve data from DB to invoice and vice versa.
Now I want few things to be implemented on our invoice.
When ever I open our invoice, it populate the first entry from DB, Is it possible to populate the last entry ?
Auto increment invoice number from MS Access DB every time we open our invoice after save.
How to implement search option from DB for invoice number ?
Please let me know if someone can provide me help on my scenario, so that I can share more stuff related to invoice and DB.

As far as I know there is not any auto increment data type in Oracle. Instead of this you should create a sequence and get the next value of the sequence while creating a row in your table.
CREATE SEQUENCE Test_Sequence ;

Editing tools and search option stopped working after IOS Update

Hi All,
Since the last IOS & Adobe Reader Update I have been unable to edit or search within existing PDF using the Adobe Reader iPad App. I have noticed the document now shows as protected on the Iphone Adobe Reader App but does not give me any option to unprotect it. Please bear in mind I have been editing this document for over 6 months now and the document shows my previous annotations.
Any ideas on how to resolve this issue?

I can confirm the following:
Your PDF document is not encrypted or locked by password.
This is a defect in Adobe Reader for iOS version 11.6.4 (or possibly all 11.6.x versions) for the particular type of PDF documents like yours. (The problem does not happen with all PDF documents.) The tools/areas that are affected by the defect: Search, text selection, text markup annotations (highlight, strikeout, and underline). However, you can still add other types of annotations, namely sticky notes, free text, and freehand drawing, to the PDF document.
The defect has already been fixed in our internal build for a future release. (I was able to add highlight/strikeout/underline and search text in your PDF document.) Unfortunately, I am not able to speculate on the next release date.
Sorry for the inconvenience. We hope that you switch back to Adobe Reader for iOS once the defect is fixed.

ITunes 9 Mini-Player and search option

Before I downloaded iTunes 9 and was running all my music through iTunes 8, I was able to search for keywords and that became the playlist. I switched to Mini-Player and it continued endlessly through this selected search. I am not able to do that with iTunes 9, I search for songs, switch to Mini-Player and the search somehow escapes itself and starts playing my whole Music listing of songs.
Is anyone else having this problem?

I have this issue, both on my computer, and on my girlfriend's Macbook Pro. Prior versions of iTunes would constrain its Shuffle to within my search results when using the Search function in the upper right corner of iTunes. 9.x basically ignores the search results, and shuffles within my entire library. There doesn't seem to be any way to fix it, as there are very limited "shuffle" options in the Controls menu.

Thumbnail titles and search options help

Is the following possible? On the thumbnail sections, we have small thumbnail and thumbnail title. Is there a way for the title to display in full rather than only when we hover over. Right now I can only see one line of the title. When we hover over, we see the rest of the title.
Also is there a way to change how the search works. By default, it searches everything inside the powerpoint. Any way to have it just search a particular section like title or notes. I know I can edit the XML manually but that would tedious to edit all the content.
If its not possible yet, then I hope Adobe can come out with a patch. The first one should be easy to implement as it already practically done. The only difference now is I have to hover over to see the title in full. Why can't it just show the full title by default or at least show as much of title possible based on the space that the thumbnail creates. That's the biggest user complaint is they have to hover over to read the full title to determine if they want to look at that slide

How to enable categories in iCloud Outlook contacts and search option to include contacts notes?

So, I've seen various threads about iCloud not supporting categories as we know them in Outlook. Categories are kept in iCloud contacts (in Outlook) but they just don't work as they did when contacts where in Outlook's PST folder. I haven't seen that someone has found a solution to work this out without having to create groups one by one. The other problem though is that when I search iCloud contacts in Outlook, I type in a keyword and the contact with the supposed keyword in its categories does not display if the contact has more than one categories linked to it. Prior to iCloud I was able to pull up contacts by typing in a word in the search bar. For instance, I'd type in a keyword of one my categories and Outlook would display all contacts that contained the word I searched (be it if the contact contained the keyword in its contact fields, categories, or notes). Now, when I search a keyword, iCloud does not pull up the contact(s) with the specific word if the contact has more than one categories linked to it. It also appears that iCloud contacts in Outlook does not search keywords that are in the contacts' notes. Does anyone know how to get these features to work? I basically need iCloud contacts to be able to search contacts along with their categories and their notes and display all contacts that contain the word I typed in the search bar.

What's changed in Nano world, my playlist order?

A few weeks ago my 8gig mini nano thing with clock and all the stuff you could ever want messed up my playlist. I have "copy playlist order" and even copied my playlists to see if that would work but no, the ipod just plays like it's in shuffle mode. Shuffle is off, shake to shuffle is off.

Well I fixed it, ONLY by restoring back to factory settings. My guess is that the lastest iTunes update has a bug in it. So i won't be updating my ipod for a while. Why break something that works.

Keeping my itunes playlist order after I sync to iPod Nano 7th Gen

So I created a playlist but I am having trouble keeping the order of songs after I sync. I have tried rating them as well but as soon as I sync, Alphabetical order is what I get. Any thoughts?

In iTunes, go to your playlist. On the playlist, click on its column header row at the far left end, above the column with sequential numbers below. That sorts the playlist by playlist order, and you can change the song order by dragging songs around on the list. You may have done this already.
If you sync this playlist to the iPod, it should appear in that order on the iPod.
If it does not, you may not be looking at the playlist on the iPod. If you select the list of All Songs on the iPod, it will be in alphabetical order. Even if you only have one playlist synced to the iPod, the All Songs list is not the playlist. If you select the playlist on the iPod, it should be in playlist order.

For that i've created a custom Search component Set and Search Options Set. I've enabled the Standard Properties on the Search Options Set. Is it possible to edit the layout for the Standard Properties.

what do you mean by 'change the layout of the standard properties'?
What you can do is change the properties that are displayed. Have a look at this: http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04/helpdata/en/cc/f4e77ddef1244380b06fee5f8b892a/frameset.htm and the description for 'predefined properties'

From Shuffle to Playlist Order

If I am listening to my Shuffle in random/shuffle order and come to a song from an album I want to hear more of, can I switch it to Playlist order and hear the rest of the songs in order of the playlist?

Search option in tracklist/playlist in nokia 5310 ...

I am having nokia 5310 xpress music.
I am looking for the search option in playlist. sometimes playlist is too long and you are looking for a particular song to be player then I need to scroll down the whole list to find the related song.
I am having nokia E51 also and I found that search option is there in that.
I dont think it has any dependency over s40 or s60. and it can be provided with just firmware update..
Please confirm and suggest.

If you disable the Search Entire Library option (available in the dropdown to the left of the search box) iTunes 12 will not show the search results in a dropdown but will immediately go to a filtered version of your current view. With the Search Entire Library option enabled, you can still get to this filtered view by clicking on the first entry in the drop down, which will say "Show <search string> in Library" or "Show <search string> in <playlist>" depending on where you start the search from.
There are some inconsistencies in the search behavior, most notably that where you have the Search Entire Library option enabled and search within a playlist the dropdown will show all matches in you complete library (whether in your playlist or not), whereas the first entry in the dropdown just takes you to the filtered playlist view.
You can use https://www.apple.com/feedback/itunesapp.html to provide input to developers about bugs, enhancement requests, etc.

Playlist order sorts differently from music library and ipod

When I resort a playlist in iTunes and transfer it to my iPod I notice the songs take on a different order. Any one know how to get the desired playlist order to "stick" so it's preserved on the iPod?

If you manually manage music... on iTunes 11, go to the top left corner and there will be a pull down bar. Click "show menu bar". From there, go to view, then show sidebar. Magically, it looks like the previous versions of iTunes. Took me 3 hours of trial and error and searching through forums to figure out. Tried calling Apple to have them walk me through it and they said they wouldn't help me since I don't have Apple Care. Whatever. Hope this helps!!

That's just the sort order. It's displaying the media alphabetically because you have clicked on the NAME column near the top of the iTunes window.
Click on the little triangle above the column of numbers (usually on the far left side of the main iTunes window) and the media will sort in the order in which you added each item to the playlist.
You can easily reorder songs within a playlist: Click and HOLD on the song you wish to move, then drag-and-drop it wherever you like.
