Playlist Order With Numbers

I just picked up a new 120GB iPod Classic (after my trusty iPod Photo finally croaked) and there's a change that I wanted to query.
I have a fair few playlists set up for various occasions - running,parties, etc. - and to keep those lists together, at the top of the list, I number them: e.g. '1 Running', '2 Party', '3 Spotting Trains', '4 Banging Head Against Wall', etc.
I have about 25 of these lists, and in iTunes, as well as on my previous iPod, that order was totally numerical. Ten came after nine and was followed by eleven.
On the new iPod, numbers 10 to 19 are listed between 1 and 2, and number 20 to 25 come between 2 and 3. Which is to say: back how file names used to be before this problem was solved.
Does anyone know if there's a way to fix this issue? It seems odd that iTunes and the iPod would do things differently.
(On a separate issue, the Classic is running a little slower on start up, etc., than I'm used to - due, no doubt, to the images constantly being processed in the display. Is there a way to switch this mostly-useless facility off?)

It would seem I have a similar problem, I have a new iPod Classic (120GB) for use as an Audio Book, but when I load it with MP3 books, that have been split up into chapters, they appear on the iPod not in the order that they are in in iTunes, ie the chapters are mixed. As also with the movements in a classical piece of music. I know that in pop music each piece is independent and they can all go together in a hundred different way. Is there no way of insuring that the order of the individual items in an album in iTunes, is maintained when it is downloaded into the iPod Classic? The parts of the whole are in individual folders/albums and the Shuffle option in the info box is set to ‘skip’ which I took to mean that they would all stay where I put them.
How about an answer Apple, as also for my iPod Touch Cover Flow problem on that forum.

Playlist ordering with 4G shuffle NOT possible

It's not possible to sync the order of songs with the 4. Generation of the iPod shuffle. THe shuffle is playing always ordered by Artist.
Changing the order in iTunes and re-sync the iPod doesn't affect the order on the iPod shuffle.
Is this a bug in the firmware of the 4G shuffle or a problem with iTunes?

You can sort all the music that is not in a playlist on your shuffle. It inherits whatever sort you have selected for your entire music library in itunes. To see what I am talking about, do this:
1. Under Library (on the left side of iTunes) click "Music"
2. You now see on the right your entire music library. At the top, click the top of the column you want to sort by. You can right click to add more columns
3. Sort by something different than what you are currently sorting by.
4. Connect your shuffle and wait for it to come up
5. When your shuffle appears on the left, open it and click "Music" and note how it is sorted. The column it is currently sorted by will be darker in its heading and their will be a triangle in that columns heading
6. Now click on the name of your shuffle and click sync.
7. Go back to your "Music" entry on your shuffle and you will see it is now sorted by the column you changed your iTunes music library too.
So, your music on your shuffle will inherit the sort order you have set for your entire library on itunes, when you sync it.
Does that make sense?

When downloading updates from iTunes to my iPhone my playlists appear in reverse order with least played at the top. I just want the playlist to appear in the same order as my iTunes library. This seems to have changed after downloading iCloud

Therefore I cant play my favourites in the order that I like to hear them.

Is this temporary cache accessing my data when I play songs from it? As I mentioned in my previous post, I'm still able to listen to these songs even when my phone is in airplane mode and the download icon is still present next to said songs. This implies that the songs are already downloaded onto my phone even if I didn't opt to download them directly from the cloud -- they're on my phone because my phone was shuffling my library on a wifi network.

To create SD Sales Order with Serial numbers

Hi Experts,
I want to create a Sales Order with serial numbers info attached to the items.
The way, i m following is:
1. Creating the order with BAPI_SALESORDER_CREATEFORMDAT2 function module and save it.
2. Then add the serials to the already saved SO.
3. The delivery document is automatically created through some customizing settings.
This approach has a problem: After SO being saved, because the delivery document is automatically created through some customizing settings. This means i need update serial numbers in both SO and delivery document as well.
I'm looking for a way to add the serial numbers to the SO before actually saving it. By this way the serial numbers would be actually added in delivery document too. I think BAPI_SALESORDER_CREATEFROMDAT2 is of no help, in this case.
Is there any function module?

I have checked that link which you provided. The link actually tells about how can we add serial no after SO being saved, but i want to add serial nos before SO actually saved.
The same FM given in the link, i m using and its working fine.
Can you let me know, how can i add serial nos in SO before saving it?
Is there any FM exist, that could achieve this? OR How can we achieve this by CALL TRANSACTION, if there is no FM exist for this.

How can I get my Recently Added back to how it was before I reset? Also, is there any way to sort a playlist by the numbering (i.e. 1, 2, 3)?

Basically, I reset my computer (not rebooted; reset, as in wiped it clean) and backed up all my music. After putting the songs back onto my iPhone, the playlists like My Top Rated and Recently Played were empty, of course. For Recently Added, all of my songs were in there. I imported my playlists and most were back to normal. However, the first 13 songs in my Recently Added were the same as before I reset my computer, which I found really odd, so I figured that they were sorted somehow for that to happen--they had to be. The rest of the songs were all of my other songs.
Anyways, I can't find a way to get my Recently Added to just have those 13 songs and it's really irritating me. Is there a way??? Yes, I've tried limiting to 13 items. I've also tried sorting by name, and the "most recently/least recently added" options didn't work either. How can I sort it by numbering, as in the actual numbers next to the Artist name???
Also, notice how the first 13 songs are sorted by Name and after those songs, the rest are sorted by Artist Name. So, I'm thinking this issue is fixable. It's peeving me!

A smart playlist like "Recently Added" is based on the date that a track is added to your library. Since you erased your computer and re-built your library from scratch, all your tracks are considered "recently added" because iTunes assigned a new date to each song as it was re-added to your library.
Instead of re-building your library from scratch, and re-importing certain playlists you had saved, it might've been better to have simply recovered your "iTunes Library.itl" file. That is the index that points to where all your song files are, and contains all your playlists, and has properties such as ratings, last played date, and date added. As long as the native files for your songs are in the same place, you could re-use your "iTunes Library.itl" file if you saved a copy before you erased your computer (always back that file up along with your native files, the .itl file IS your library).
As far as why the Recently Added playlist starts with 13 particular songs, then proceeds with the rest of all your songs in alphabetic order, it is possible that either you (or iTunes) started adding the songs back with the 13 most recent songs you had previously added to your library before it was erased, and once those were added then things proceeded by artist in alphabetical order. Not sure, but there's really nothing you can do about that other than replace your .itl file with the original version if you still have it somewhere.

Problems gifting playlist - order randomized and Error 1008

I can purchase music fine, so I know my account is indeed working.
But when I try to gift a playlist via the iTunes Store, 2 errors keep occuring:
1. Track order gets randomized. (Not that it'd matter, but I don't have shuffle checked.) Each time I try clicking the "Give Playlist" button, the list opens in the Store in a different random track order, numbered incorrectly. It's only an issue because these tracks need to play in order.
2. More important, I can't finalize the purchase. I get all the way to the last screen, after entering my password, but when I finally click "Buy Gift" I get this error popup:
"*We could not complete your iTunes Store request. An unknown error occurred (1008). There was an error in the iTunes Store.* Please try again later."
This has been happening all day -- even though I can purchase songs for myself just fine.
What should I do? This is time sensitive. I'm doing this through iTunes rather than burning a CD and giving it away because I feel strongly about paying for music. Bummer not to have any info on this.

BTW, does anyone know why the playlist order gets randomly changed when I try to gift a playlist? It's confounding, I keep having to cancel and try again until, randomly, the order is right -- which can take quite a while with 5 tracks!

Keeping my itunes playlist order after I sync to iPod Nano 7th Gen

So I created a playlist but I am having trouble keeping the order of songs after I sync. I have tried rating them as well but as soon as I sync, Alphabetical order is what I get. Any thoughts?

In iTunes, go to your playlist. On the playlist, click on its column header row at the far left end, above the column with sequential numbers below. That sorts the playlist by playlist order, and you can change the song order by dragging songs around on the list. You may have done this already.
If you sync this playlist to the iPod, it should appear in that order on the iPod.
If it does not, you may not be looking at the playlist on the iPod. If you select the list of All Songs on the iPod, it will be in alphabetical order. Even if you only have one playlist synced to the iPod, the All Songs list is not the playlist. If you select the playlist on the iPod, it should be in playlist order.

Inconsistent playback order with MuVo S

I'm noticing an odd issue with the alphanumeric playback order with the muvo. If all my file names start with the track number (e.g. "0 A Hard Day's Night.mp3"), the playback order is what I expect it to be. The odd thing happens if the file names begin with a character string.
For example, if I have:
The Two Towers - 0 - Foundations of Stone.mp3
The Two Towers - 02 - The Taming of Smeagol.mp3
The Two Towers - 03 - The Riders of Rohan.mp3
In this case, it plays back in exactly *reverse* alphanumeric order (i.e. track 3, followed by 2, then ). When the files are on the harddri've, they appear in the correct alphanumeric order (both in Windows Explorer and MediaSource). Strangely enough, if I use MediaSource to transfer the files, the order appears to be correct at first when I look at the device contents, but becomes reversed if I refresh the folder. (The reversal doesn't seem to happen when the string preceding the number is short.)
Anyway, I'm not sure if this problem is due to a bug or a defecti've player. Anyone else have a similar problem?

The MuVo slim sorts the playlist by the first 8 alphanumeric characters in the filename. In this case this would be "Thetwoto". My suggestion would be to move the numbering to the front of the filename as this will assure that it is correctly sorted.

Report for Production orders with name of Customers

Dear Expert,
Kindly suggest to view the production orders with customer numbers for which the sales orders is created.
I tried in MB51 with layout settings but the customer number comes out be blank despite the sales order number is populated for an production order.
Kindly suggst a way or any report in the system to get the corresponding information of production order number and corresponding customer name mentioned in the sales order .

MB51 is a Material Document list. Many production orders exist that have no entries in this report, so it would be an unlikely candidate to be a solution for your requirement..
The standard production order reporting tool is COOIS. The output for MTO orders can be configured to display Sales order and Item and Soldto.
Obviously, displaying even the customer order number in COOIS is impossible in a MTS scenario.
In addition, a user experienced in using SAP Query (SQVI or SQ01/SQ02/SQ03) could also create a production order report without having to know ABAP, by properly linking tables AFKO, AUFK, AFPO (production order data) with VBAK (sales order header data) to get customer number, and KNA1 to get customer name..
If you are not expert in SAP Query, I suggest you discuss this requirement with a local ABAPer.
If you are feeling like educating yourself in the wonders of SAP query, try this doc. Although old, SAP query hasn't changed very much since this document was written.

Hi,
I have to create sales orders with reference to a contract. When I do the recording on lsmw the line items in the sales order are assigned a number from sap. I need to keep the line item numbers the same as per the contract.

We are using product cost by sales order with valuated stock. In addition we are not using COPA
We also consume some materials at sales order level and at the end of month we want to do the result analysis and settlement for the same amount. In this case can any on explain how system will behave regarding settlement of sales order cost and what entries will get pass in the system.
In our case we have done below activities...
we have created sales order,
All production order activities completed till final GRN including month end activities
Material consumption against sales order
Result analysis executed
At the time of sales order settlement, system throwing error (Sender doesn't have valid receiver, please create settlement rule for sender object)
Then i checked in sales order there sales order settlement rule not defined.
I guess this settlement rule need be generated by system automatically. If not, please let me know the process of it.

the reason is that sale order always carry the revenue and production order and production period carry the cost .
cost you can settle to the Material and even management want to be settle the cost to material only in production order OR period
but in sales order when u sell the product it carry the revenue not the cost and management want see and analysis based on profitability segment are profit center level .
Prerequisites
If CO-PA is active, the system generates a settlement rule when you create the sales order. The settlement rule determines whether data is settled to other objects or other areas in Controlling. In accordance with this settlement rule, the relevant data is settled to CO-PA.
If CO-PA is not active, create a settlement rule. This settlement rule that you create manually normally contains a G/L account as a receiver (such as 399999). You can also settle costs and revenues or results analysis data to objects with revenue.
You can also settle the cost of sales calculated in results analysis to a fixed asset or a cost center. To do this, you must add to the allocation structure the results analysis cost elements under which the cost of sales is updated to the order.
The settlement rule includes a distribution rule for the sales order item. The distribution rule is made up of a settlement receiver, a settlement share, and a settlement type:
The settlement receiver (such as profitability segment or G/L account) specifies the object to which the actual costs and revenue of the sales order item are settled. The settlement receiver can be proposed through the settlement profile.
The settlement share defines the percentage or the equivalence numbers used to distribute the costs to the individual settlement receivers. The settlement share for sales order items is usually 100%. A settlement share of 100% is preset in the system.
The settlement type specifies full settlement of the sales order item. This ensures that all the data on the sales order is available for results analysis.
Settlement still takes place in each period. The revenues and the cost of sales are transferred to CO-PA by period, and the work in process and the reserves are transferred to FI.

i fill the fields for items: itm_number, material, target_qty and TARGET_QU.
i don't know if i need to fill any more fields for items.

fill the ORDER_ITEMS_INX. Give item numbers like increments of 10 or so.. and try..
ORDER_ITEMS_IN STRUCTURE BAPISDITM OPTIONAL
ORDER_ITEMS_INX STRUCTURE BAPISDITMX OPTIONAL
These have to be filled to reflect the line items..
Also ensure that you are using BAPI_TRANSACTION_COMMIT.

How can I get my ipad to reflect the same playlist order that appears on my computer? My computer has the exact desired order of playlist, but once the system is synced, the ipad does not reflect the propper order.

In iTunes with your playlist shown in the correct order, right-click on the playlist name in the side-bar and click Copy to Play Order. Enable the side-bar with CTRL+S if necessary. Sync. Note also that the column you are sorting on should have the small triangle pointing upwards, otherwise the songs will play in the reverse order. You may also find that you need to first remove, and then add back the playlist to the device if syncing doesn't update it properly. See this post for more.

Searching for tracks with numbers?

most of my music is classical in nature, and occasionally I will search for a specific work, and forget that the ipod classic doesn't have numbers as a search option, or am I missing the numbers? It's far easier to look up a Bartok work by the S# than looking up "concerto for orchestra" it takes awhile to type out in the search function, is this my only option? or is there some way i can search with numbers?

Answered my own question:
Highlight the playlist or playlist folder
Put the track in the seach field
Uncheck Search Entire Library in search box
Search
Right click > Show in Playlist (will show all playlists featuring the track within that folder)

Playlist order on Nano

I notice that I can set a playlist order in Itunes in various ways (using the arrows at the top of the columns). Howeverm the order in Itunes does not transfer to the Nano. Anyone know how to do this?
p.s. I think the order is governed my the Music folder directly. But does this mean you must select a "global" order for all plylists?

Well, I have done that - pretty intuitive actually and it is easy to manipulate in iTunes. That is a strength.
But now I can't seem to get a playlist onto the Nano. I select 'Music' on the iPod in iTunes, drag a playlist from iTunes (which was created and named on iTunes as discussed), but end up with only the songs - no playlist - on the Nano .
I have the latest SW on iTunes and iPod.
