Playlist shuffle help please!

OKAY! So before, I used to press Shuffle on my Playlist, the songs would become randomly listed. With me so far? I hope!
NOW! When I press Shuffle on a Playlist, it just start playing songs randomly instead of listing them as well.
For example, I start with:
Alice in Chains song
Alice in Chains song
Alice in Chains song
Breaking Benjamin song
etc.
Pretty much with all my Artists in alphabetical order.
Then I would press Shuffle while listening to my playlist and it would be:
Gorillaz song
Blue Oyster Cult song
Flyleaf song
Metallica song
etc.
So now, do I have to MANUALLY move my songs around it order for it to be random? Please tell me there's something that can be done. I really don't feel like manually moving 500+ songs around.

Right-click the Playlist name, and choose "Copy to Play Order."

Folks, I have put together a playlist for a party and it is ~3 hrs long. I would like to move some of the songs around, perhaps listening tracks earlier, fast paced then dancing tracks later. I thought it would be easy enough to just drag tracks up or down. Unfortunately, not so. Is it possible from within the playlist? I have also filtered on the song title column so I cannot understand why it is not letting me. The "Apple Genius" at the Chermside, Australian Apple store was unable to help either and gave me this forum detail.

Nano and Shuffle help please

Hi I have new nano and and shuffle. I have registered tehm both on the same PC (XP) I registered the shuffle first...I can do everything with this...BUT with the Nano I can only sinc with my music library. How do I remove music from the Nano...all is listed BUT the page is not active? Thanks Imo

I've somehow managed to have in my party shuffle the start of my music content, this is showing the albums starting in alphabetical order, i'vehit the shuffle button anf nothing seems to work
anyone have any ideas?

Shuffle was working fine.
Next thing I know... it doesn't work.
It charges just fine. But....
1. Is not recognized on Windows or iTunes.
2. Not recognized by updater.
3. Doesn't Play songs.
4. Amber light flashes on front and back all the
time.
5. Amber and Green Lights flash when I try to turn it
on.
Some one, anyone, let me know how to fix this

Not recognized by updater? Hmm...try restarting your PC. If that doesn't work, try uninstalling iTunes and iPod software and install them again.

I just gave my daughter my 8 year old daughter my shuffle and i created a new playlist on itunes 10. I transfered it over and it was great. I upgraded the iTunes software to 11.0 and made changes to her kid friendly playlist on MacBook and deleted the playlist on the shuffle and wen to transfer and I could not transfer. It was very easy to do on iTunes 10 and now I need some help in figuring it out. Thanks for you help.

Un-sync all your music to remove it from the device, then restart (hold down the home button along with the sleep/wake button until you see the apple, then let go). Now re-sync your music.

I tend to make my playlists right on my ipod. This did not happen for the last 2 years. Just started recently. Did get a new computer recently.

That is because you got a new computer. You can only sync all media from one syncing computer. You can sync from any computer to iPod using the manual method but that does not sync from iPod to computer.
To make this your syncing computer:
Syncing to a "New" Computer or replacing a "crashed" Hard Drive: Apple Support Communities

Hi! My "Touch" has gone haywire since a botched up date. The colour has gone from my music menu Page (eg "songs", "artists2 etc. and my Touch will now not shuffle my tracks so I have to move on manually. Help please.

An update to my Touch went haywire and I lost my music and apps but luckily I had subscribed to i Cloud and they were reinstated but my music contents page - "artists", "songs" etc. no longer has any colour and the shuffle will not work. Help please?

Yes, the color has been deleted iOS 6.
You have tried turingin on shuffle, right?
Try:
- Reset the iPod. Nothing will be lost
Reset iPod touch: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
- Reset all settings
Go to Settings > General > Reset and tap Reset All Settings.
All your preferences and settings are reset. Information (such as contacts and calendars) and media (such as songs and videos) aren’t affected.
- Restore from backup
- Restore to factory settings/new iPod.

Sorry to here, i have my 4th Shuffle in a year time so best in that situation is to go to serveice and let them send you a new one. I must say that's the best part of the IPOD, the service

Music in my Ipod but playlists missing. Help please?

When my ipod is connected to Itunes under the "on this Ipod" menu it shows all my music.. However when i look for my playlists on the left side, the playlists do not appear. It's as though they've been deleted.All i see is the "recently added" folder. How does it go from being fine to all of a sudden no longer being able to edit my playlists that i've had for so long. When I go into the "On this Ipod" menu, i cannot edit anything.. I'm frustrated and really don't think i'd have to restore my ipod unneccesarily.........I keep getting emails from you telling me to hit SHift and S etc that does not bring back my playlists..Help! thank you! (i've attached some pics to better show you my dilemma)

You have now started four discussions on this subject, two of which have been responded to.
In both responses, by different people, you were advised to turn on the sidebar in your iTunes Library. If that doesnot help you, please consider rresponding to one of the responses you have had. That way, you can enagage in discussion (converstaion) which might then give you the answer that you are looking for.
But constantly starting new discussisons isn't going to get you very far.
By the way, an easy (and perhaps easier) way to manage your Playlists is to manage them in iTunes, but without the iPod connected. Then, once you have finished modifying your iTunes Library (for now), connect the iPod and allow a Sync to put the modified Playlists onto your iPod.

Type "move itunes library" into the google search bar for directions on moving your itunes library from one computer to another.
