Playlist Shuffle Shuffles to Other Playlists

Since I've upgraded to iOS 6, when I shuffle a playlist (I push the shuffle button while a song is playing in a particular song or, while looking at the songs within the playlist I push the shuffle button) the playlist will shuffle into another playlist instead of to another song within that playlist.
Does anyone know how I can prevent this? Would really like to shuffle my songs within my playlist and not my playlistS.
I have a iPhone 4S 16GB.

<<When I copy a podcast into another playlist, it goes away as soon as the original is deleted>>
The files are on your HD once. Every file is in the Library. What's in the Playlist is a reference or pointer to the file in the Libary. If the file is deleted from the Library then it's not available to the playlist. If this makes no sense to you. consider the waste of disk space if a file was duplicated everytime it was added to a playlist.

  • VoiceOver for iPod Shuffle and Other

.Terima kasih. _Muchammad Bagoes Setyawanto_ [email protected]_

An iPod shuffle can only contain content from one iTunes library at a time. Content placed onto it through the Finder or Windows Explorer doesn't count toward the limit but can't be played on it.

  • Not showing "transfer" option for iPod Shuffle to other computer

I have two authorized computers-a Windows XP (the first) and a Windows Vista I just authorized with iTunes 8. My iPod Shuffle works with the first computer (the XP) and will connect with it, but with the Vista, it only shows the "erase and sync" and "cancel" options in the pop-up box when I plug it in to my computer. How do I fix this problem?

If it helps, the computer it is not working on is a Toshiba Satellite.

I had older ipod shuffle that broke and purchased over two hundred in songs and dont have that email and dont remember password. I just bought the new shuffle and want to see how I can access those songs without having to pay for them again.

You'll need to contact Apple then for help on resetting some of that account information.

Once the sync process is complete with one computer, can the iPod Shuffle be used to copy music from other computers that have not been synchronised with the it? And can one only work with the Shuffle with the computer with which it has been synchronised?

  • Can I designate what specific playlists I want to play in order or shuffle?

With either the newer or older version of iTunes, is there a way I can designate a specific playlist to play in order or shuffle? I have specific playlists that I want to play in a particular order. I also others that I wouldn't mind shuffling them. From what I've seen, it's an "all or nothing" arrangement.

Do I turn-on/turn-off the shuffle on the PC (iTunes) or on the iPod itself.
It depends on which you're listening to. The shuffle settings are completely independent of each other.
Now, if you're talking about an iPod, then I don't believe there's any way to have some playlists shuffle and others not. To the best of my knowledge, shuffle is for the entire iPod. But you may want to ask about that in the appropriate iPod forum; it may be different for different models of iPods, or someone may know of a workaround.
How do I keep the play order intact for those that I don't want to shuffle?
For iTunes, just don't set the playlist for shuffle. For an iPod, see above.

  • Cannot Shuffle Music Playlist from Apple TV

When I go into my homeshare libray from the apple TV, then go into Music->Music Playlist and then choose any of my playlists that my music videos are in, I can play my music videos one by one. There is always the option to shuffle at the top, however when I pick "Shuffle" it displays a yellow triangle with exclamation mark in it and says "no content was found." Any idea why I cannot shuffle a playlists of music videos from the apple TV?

I'm having the same issue. For some playlists, I can shuffle, but others, it won't and I get that "No content was found". I haven't figured it out yet. Has anyone else?

  • Playlist shuffle for Ipod Nano?  or am I stuck with same order of songs?

Is there a shuffle option for the nano where I can vary the order of the songs played? It gets really onld knowing which song is going to come on next.

In the settings menu, make sure that shuffle is set to "songs". Then select any playlist/album/artist/genre etc, then press play (not select). The songs within the category you selected will be shuffled.

  • Playlist shuffling problems.

When hit shuffle on playlists or even all songs its skips over a lot of songs. The song count will go from 50 to 12 making it impossible to listen to an entire playlist on shuffle. Is there a way to fix this or do I have to live with this until the next bug fix?

iTunes will set each Podcast to Skip when shuffling as the Podcast is downloaded. So I suggest you triple check.
One important point to note: if you look at multiple items at once, you see a different tab displayed, and if there is a mixture of Skip/don't skip, then the option will mislead you and say that Skip when shuffling is off:
You will see this even if one item is set to Skip when shuffling, so the display above is wrong! Check each item separately, because I still think that is your problem. Why? Well...

  • Shuffle within a Playlist?

So when you set the control to shuffle, will it shuffle within the playlist selected, or just shuffle everything on the unit like the old shuffles do? As soon as someone gets one, or if an Apple moderator is monitoring this, let us know.
    Thanks

Just watched part of the +Guided Tour+ again, because I'm now curious about the answer myself now.
At the part that explains how playlist selection works, the first playlist read by VoiceOver is the current playlist. The second playlist read by VoiceOver is "all music," which I assume means everything on the shuffle and not a playlist called +all music+. Then it reads off all the other playlists.
So the answer seems to be YES, to you original question. You can shuffle within any one playlist or shuffle with all of the music on the shuffle.

  • ?How do I shuffle "songs" in a playlist?

Hi out there! I have an I pod classic 80gb. New as of the last 3-4 months. My question is...How do I get it to shuffle "songs" within a playlist? It seems to only give me the option in the settings to set the shuffle to "albums" within a playlist. Am I missing some software update? iTunes on my computer has the option to shuffle songs in a playlist so why doesnt my ipod have the same option? HELP!! Thanks!!

In the settings menu, make sure that shuffle is set to "songs". Then select any playlist, then press play (not select). The songs within that playlist will be shuffled.

  • Why is my playlist shuffling when I don't want it to?

Apologies for posting to iPod touch, but posting here since this is an iPod software functionality issue despite my having an iPhone4. I have playlists, and I like the songs to play in order. For some reason, the songs shuffle anyways. The "Shake to Shuffle" function turned off. Additionally, the little shuffle icon at the top right of the screen isn't visible for me to select it "off". Sometimes its there, sometimes it's not. Any feedback is enormously appreciated!

Go to the now playing window. Then deselect the shuffle icon
