Playlist stops after each song or podcast

I have podcasts on a playlist, and for some reason, sometimes it only plays one song or podcast, then doesn't go to the next one. I have to go back and click on the next one to play it.

Are there check marks beside all the items in the playlist? Unchecked items have to be clicked on individually to play them, checked items will play one after the other. If you hold down the CRTL key and click beside any song in your list then all the check boxes can be toggled on or off: iTunes - Keyboard Shortcuts for Windows

  • Playback stopping after each song

Everytime I try and play a playlist, or album from the library, the songs do not continuously play. After each song I have to restart the next song. They all play fine, they just no longer continuously play. Did I hit a button or something that I shouldn't have? I have looked all over trying to find the answer to this one, but could find no topic that addressed this.
    TIA

  • Creative Muvo stops after each song

My creative muvo has begun to stop play after each song. You have to scroll to the next song manually. Has anyone had this problem? (The battery is fully charged)

If the Play Mode is set to normal then that shouldn't happen. Could be a problem with the files on the unit, you could try formatting it and then transfer some new tracks over (rip them from CD for example). It might help aswell to update the firmware.
You didn't mention which MuVo it is exactly, but if there is a firmware update available for it, it'll be in the Downloads section (Support > Downloads).

  • Stopping after each song has finished

Is it possible to set up the iPod shuffle so that when a song has finished playing it stops/pauses. Instead of continuing to the next song?

Haven't tried it on a shuffle, but here is an idea.
In iTunes, set up a playlist of the stuff you want on the shuffle. Now UNCHECK all the boxes in front of those songs. Also select all then do a get info and check the box to "skip when shuffling". I am not sure if that setting will effect how the songs play on the shuffle or not, but worth a try. If the shuffle does use that setting, then when you play a track, it should stop after that track since all the songs on the shuffle are unchecked and will be skipped.

  • Stop after each song

I have an older iPod and I can make it play one song in a Playlist and then stop, manually starting the next. I just got an iPod Touch and the same trick (skip when shuffling) doesn't work on it. How can I make it play a song and stop?

If you're really determined to do that, set each song in the Playlist to Skip when shuffling and then play the Playlist in song shuffle mode. Because every other song in the list is set to skip when shuffle is used, there would be no other songs, in the list, to be played.
    However, a word of caution;
you set Skip when shuffling in your iTunes Library, so set each song (highlight the song and select File/Get Info/Info/Options>Skip when shuffling and then connect the iPod to iTunes so it can Sync (synchronise) the changes. If you cannot see the File menu, right-click each song to see the context menu.
once set to Skip when shuffling, it will apply whenever the iPod is in shuffle mode. Those songs will not play in shuffle mode.
if you use Manually Manage, instead of Sync, then you will need to remove each song from the iPod, make the changes in your iTunes Library and then put the song back onto the iPod.

  • Playlists stop after one song

I am having a problem where my playlists stop playing after one song in Itunes. This does not happen in my IPOD lists just Itunes.
I ran the setup and repaired - same problem
    Reinstalled - same problem.
Deleted playlists and created new ones - same problem.
Highlighting several songs and playing - prob remains.
Any help would be appreciated. If it is a settings issue, not sure why it doesn't affect the IPOD songs played through Itunes. Only the Itunes playlists stop playing.
    Appreciate any help.

i was hoping it was something simple. (after a hard day in Installations & Upgrades, it's nice when something goes fairly smoothly.) glad to help!

  • "Random" play doesn't work, stops after each song; multiple plays of same

One of the more annoying things happening: random doesn't work.
I've gone through the Zen Media Explorer, reformated the Zen player, so there were no songs on it.
Went and built a list of 37 songs and uploaded via Zen Media Player to the Zen player.
Went to "Music" and selected "All Tracks"
Set my "System" "Audio Settings" for "random" play.
I had to pick the first song to start it off.
It played the first 5 or so songs correctly.
    Then it stopped.
I used the bottom arrow key to "play" the next song. Then it stopped AGAIN.
Now I'm manually making each song play! This goes on for 4-5 songs, then it starts playing automatically - but repeating the songs it has already played. It does not go near the other 28 or so songs that I have not heard yet!
I go back to "Music" and re-set to "All Tracks"
I go back to "System" "Audio Settings" and re-set to play "random"
And it does this annoying routine all over again.
Went back to "System" "Audio Settings" and picked "normal" this time. So of course, its playing all the same songs I've heard over again.
I have to manually cruise the "All Tracks" to pick what I want to hear.
Can anyone help me with this? I can't stand it anymore.

If you installed any software to work with the mouse, remove it according to the developer's instructions, then restart the computer and test. Back up all data before making any changes.

  • Video Playlists, which setting to check to make it not stop after each song

Ipod classic 120 gig that I got my Dad for Christmas. I have the video playlist all set up. I want him to be able to click the ">" button and it go to another song. Right now it just stops and returns to the main list of songs.
Example of what I want: He is playing a music video and decides he wants to move on to the next song. He pushes the ">" button and the next music video starts playing.

Oddly enough, this has to do with the SHUFFLE setting.
Go to Settings > Shuffle > Set it to Off
If the Shuffle is on at all, Video Playlists don't really work. This has been a problem since the release of the iPod Classic and Apple really hasn't made any moves or promises to fix it ...

  • Why can't I get a playlist on ITunes on Ipad to stop after each song?  I can do it on ITunes on my PC.

On the PC, when you un check the selections and transfer them to an IPod they will not play until you choose them.  On the IPad2 they continually play.  We are trying to use this for church, and it will be a waste of money if it doesn't work as we need it to.  So we need to create a list of songs for the service, and only play them when we want them to play....not continuously.

  • Movie playlist stop after each movie

    Hi all
I thought I'd use our iPad as in-car entertainment for our daughter (2y 7m) but found that the iPod app does some rather unexpected things. After playing an episode - I'm using to play TV episodes - it stops and shows a page with thumbnail of movie.
Only button is for Movies page, but going there is not what i want and then there are no buttons on that page either,
How do I get a playlist of movies to playz with stopping at end of each.
    Cheers
    C

One way is to assign a track number to each related video via iTunes and then resync the iPad to the computer.

  • Itunes 12 stop after each song?

in iTunes 12 how can I stop it automatically playing the next song?

Time to learn the "Up Next" feature.
If your music is paused, use right-click (ctrl-click) on a song to "Play Next" (puts on the top of the queue) or "Add to Up Next" (add to the end of the queue).
Go to the "Up Next" Menu in the View Menu (or click the icon in the control bar that looks like three horizontal bars).
    Select your song.
In some conditions, the rest of the your playlist will show up below your addition.  When you scroll down the Up Next list you may see "Back To: " at the end of the list.  Press CLEAR to be sure your selection(s) are the only songs played.

I have notice that it's only on songs that is lighter (not the Bold songs). I do have iTunes Match and iCloud, does that have anything to do with it?

  • Ipod stops after each track ends in a playlist?

I have a problem: Suddenly, my ipod stops after each track ends in a playlist.  This happens with every playlist and every track, all of which worked fine until this week.  All tracks' settings are "yes" on 1) part of a compilation; 2) remember playback position and; 3) skip when shuffling.  I have not updated any software or added any new content to my ipod.  I imagine that some setting has been switched on or off, but I am unable to identify which one.  Please help as these are my audio books!  Thanks!

I have an iPod Classic (I am fairly new to the medium) and when playing music the Pod goes smoothly from one song to the next but, when listening to a book (brought in from a CD copied into iTunes) it plays one track and stops.
See below for a link on how to copy a CD into iTunes if you want an Audibook.
I have tried checking the gap less album box (what is that for by the way) but it makes no difference.
If you've heard of Dark Side of The Moon by Pink Floyd then it's used there when you want no break between tracks. Or any DJ mixed continuos play CD. Or some classical music. Take your pick
Third question, can I make a book copied into iTunes an Audiobook? How?

  • Itues 11. How do you make Podcasts play continuously. Right now they stop after each selection

In iTunes 11 my podcasts stop after each selection. How do I play them continuosly as I was able to in iTunes 10?

I second this motion of shenannigans.
Upon updating to iTunes 11 I was unpleasantly surprised by the fact that my podcast smartlists no longer played continuously.
    So,
Dear Apple, perhaps you want to fix the section on your website describing how to use a smartlist for continuity of podcast play, because it is not working as described http://www.apple.com/itunes/podcasts/.
and yes, I too would like to know what's going on and how to fix it.

  • Stop after each track?

Is it possible to set the nano so after each song is played, it stops playing and won't go to the next song unless you press play again?

Selecting a single song MAY do this already. Just make sure "repeat" is turned off. But are you talking about from within a playlist, artist or album list? I think it will automatically advance to the next song.
Edited: I just tested it. The single song trick works only if there is one song from an album or artist. If the artist or album has more than one song on your iPod, this may not work.
