Playlist syncing not working on iTunes 12

Hey guys,
I noticed when trying to move playlists from my computer, now on iTunes 12, to my iPad. It SAID it was overwriting the other playlist named the same name (which I wanted), but then I go on to my iPad and it's just not there. Is anyone else having this problem?
Thanks!

Had same problem and found this answer is another thread.
A second trial with the following steps changing the Computer’s name replacing with a short one and off / on on both Mac & ATV makes home-sharing works again.
> Turn Off Home-Sharing on MAC;
> Turn Off Home-Sharing on ATV;
> On MAC:
- Go to: System Preferences;
- Go to: Sharing Tab;
- Change Computer Name;
> Re-Start the MAC;
> Re-Start ATV;
> Turn ON Home-Sharing on MAC;
> Turn ON Home-Sharing on ATV;
Singing wishing song during the above process seems to be extremely helpful.
Yes, I even sung a little song.... Thanks everyone for sharing

  • Right-click add to Playlist shortcut not working in iTunes 11.1

    Since upgrading to itunes 11.1 I find that the right-click> Add to Playlist option is not working. I go through the steps but the selected song is never in the playlist I selected. The only workaround I found is to Edit the Playlist and then drag and drop songs to the playlist. Selecting songs from another already existing playlist? Forgot about it!
    Is this a bug? Is there a setting somewhere I am missing? This is really annoying as this is how I built my playlists for years. Two days ago I spent a half hour right-click and adding to playlist only to find the list was empty after all my work. (And I really wouldn't have to be doing this if the stupid upgrade hadn't blown away all my playlists in the first place). Sigh.

    did you get this fixed? I have the same problem - thanks for saving my bacon though with the edit playlist tip
    Apple, please make this easier - it used to be dead simple with tunes on the right of the playlist lists and you'd drag, now, seeing playlists and songs at the same time is a pain, you have to use to edit option or the NOT WORKING right click method.  Is this fixed in a later version? I have v11.05 - I am fed up of keep upgrading at 80Mb a go and 20 minutes out of my life hence, I am not up to the most recent.  If it still is a problem with the latest, I'll have to wait til the next
    Thanks, Matt

  • "add song to playlist" is not working in itunes.

    I recently replaced my laptop with a new one, and I cannot copy (by dragging or using "add to playlist") a song from my itunes library to my iphone 5.
    Also, how do I copy the playlists of my iphone   to the itunes libraries? I synchronized and backup-ed the iphone in itune, but this didn't do it.
    My os is Microsoft windows 7.
    Thanks for your help.

  • Playlist Sync not work

    I just received my Zen Micro. I downloaded all my music to WMP and then synced it onto the device. However I then made playlists on WMP and tried syncing them onto the micro zen. I did this by connecting the device to the computer and then going to sync and going to the name of the playlists on the scroll down menu and selecting each one.
    When I looked on the micro, it listed no playlists. Am I doing this wrong? Can someone please suggest the way to do this.
    Other than this, I love this machine. Thanks for the assistance.:smileytongue:

    I didnt log in to see the response and now it appears cut off. Would someone mind answering my original question? I tried again today to make a playlist on WMP and then syncing it to the micro zen and it doesn't work.

  • Sync not working with iTunes since new update 11.1.1.11

    I'm not sure what Apple are playing at, Since the new update I have not been able to sync anything to my iPhone 4. I tried every single thing I could think of and also been reading on the various discussion boards.
    Also has anyone else noticed that the iTunes store has been incredibly slow and sluggish for the past few months. I been on various windows machines and also my Macbook, the whole store has definitely slowed down, when you try to search or buy music. Finally I think the latest iPhone update looks and handles horribly. Shame Apple you are losing your mojo.....

    Hello dmartins1977,
    Thank you for the details of the issue you are experiencing with installing the latest iTunes update.  I recommend following the steps below:
    1. Remove iTunes and related components from the Control Panel
    Use the Control Panel to uninstall iTunes and related software components in the following order. Then, restart your computer:
    iTunes
    Apple Software Update
    Apple Mobile Device Support
    Bonjour
    Apple Application Support (iTunes 9 or later)
    Important: Uninstalling these components in a different order, or only uninstalling some of these components, may have unintended affects.If you encounter an error while uninstalling, try repairing the affected component:
    2. Verify iTunes and related components are completely uninstalledIn most cases, removing iTunes and its related components from the Control Panel will remove all supporting files belonging to those programs. To fully resolve these issues, manually remove any remaining iTunes-related folders listed below.On 32-bit and 64-bit systems:On 64-bit systems:
    3. Reboot your computer.
    4. Download the iTunes installer. When prompted to select what you want to do, choose to save it to your computer.
    5. Install iTunes.
    Right click on iTunesSetup or iTunes64Setup.
    Windows Vista, Windows 7, and Windows 8: Select the 'Run as administrator' option.
    Windows XP: Select the Open option.
    Finish installing iTunes.
    I understand that you have already uninstalled iTunes, but it is important to uninstall iTunes and the related components in the order listed in the link for that step.

  • Wifi Sync not working on iOS 6 and iTunes 10.7 with iPhone 4S

    I am running Windows 7 64-bit but WiFi Sync is not working on either my iPhone 4S or my wife's iPhone 4S.  Worked fine before upgrading.  All settings look correct in iTunes 10.7 and on our iPhones 4S's.  Already tried uninstalling iTunes and all associated Apple programs (Bonjour, Apple Mobile Device Support, Apple Application Support, etc) and reinstalling iTunes but no help.  Temporarily disabling Norton Firewall did not help.  If I hook up either of our two 4S phones via USB wire, they Sync and Backup fine.  Just WiFi Sync not working.  Can't initiate sync from iPhones because button is ghosted stating it is waiting for PC to be present.  Phones don't show up under Devices in iTunes unless hard-wired via USB cable.  Any suggestions?

    I am getting sync issues too (although on OSX) - seems like others are getting issues too:

    I had already re booted, but I rebooted again, the phone, router, comp (iMac)
    I changed the name of my phone, I had a lot of hope riding on that idea, it sounded good, but (sigh) no go!
    finally I got it working
    this is what I did, I hope it works for you (at least on a Mac)
    open
    system preferences - Sharing
    I clicked on internet sharing, but did not 'tick' the box (mine was off & is still is off now)
    I 'ticked' the Wi-Fi tick box

    However, after your remove the Apple software components also remove the iCloud Control Panel via Windows Programs and Features app in the Window Control Panel. Then reinstall all the Apple software components

  • ITunes RADIO is not working.  "iTunes could not connect to the iTunes Store. Make sure your internet connection is active and try again." Try as I may, as many as ten attempts, trying to connect after restart, after shutdown, nothing works. Just so -  iTu

    iTunes RADIO is not working.
    “iTunes could not connect to the iTunes Store. Make sure your internet connection is active and try again.” Try as I may, as many as ten attempts, trying to connect after restart, after shutdown, nothing works. Just so …
    iTunes STORE not “connectable” with my otherwise perfectly-working internet connection, viable, up and running for all other uses.
    Simply put, firstly, I can't connect to the internet when I click on Radio.  People are quite suspicious that this is Apple incompetence or your company's famous arrogance for this commonly-suffered problem that you won't or “can’t” fix.
    Read the many web comments and you won’t be pleased with yourselves: the suspicion is that if you ruin internet radio on iTunes, Apple will somehow make more money on music downloads, etc. Bull.
    Also, thirdly, my old playlist of 20 or so internet radio stations in the Ambient category STILL PLAYS !
    Then fourth, I installed the latest available version of QuickTime Player 7.app Version 7.6.6 but it didn’t solve the problem either. I had QuickTime Player.app Version 10.2, but substituted what Apple website said was the latest, LOWER NUMBERED QuickTime Player version of 7.6.6
    Fifth, I can't connect to iTunes store no matter what I do or what user group's advice I try. So I can’t buy or download anything from iTunes. Bad for business.
    Sixth, I updated to the latest version of iTunes but this weird problem remains. All suggested Apple fixes or user group fixes are useless. Where is Apple’s famous technical competency, vaunted customer support?, and user-friendly product reputation? Get it back, please.
    Solve this problem of yours ASAP for us, your numerous disgruntled, dissatisfied customers of iTunes. You can do better, should, and really –in all fairness- must.

    NOTE:  no password for iTunes exists in my Keychain. Is this a problem?
    Apple ACCOUNT ID, and iTunes ID password, works but not to access iTunes with my healthy internet connection.
    Apple store id It works via direct internet connetion but not through iTunes.  Very strange.

  • Overdrive Media console not working with iTunes when transferring audio books.  Any suggestions?

    Overdrive Media console not working with iTunes when transferring audiobooks.  Some parts don't transfer.

    Robin, I have the 4S too. Here's wha I've been doing. Well, I am downloading wma books, but it is super time consuming and annoying. First, shut off genius in your preferences in iTunes. Also change to spoken podcast for speed. Then, you start to transfer from Overdrive. It will create a playlist with your book title. Open up books though because you need to keep an eye on it. It may download like three parts and then you may have a grey one. When you get the grey, cancel the transfer, delete the greyed part, exit iTunes, re-enter iTunes, and then try to download the remaining book parts. I usually have to re-enter iTunes three or four different times during a book. When your book is downloaded, all black and none grey, open up the playlist folder and double check that all parts made it in there. If not, carry them from the books folder to the playlist and then move it into numerical order.
    Re non bookmarking problem. I now have a new habit of checking what part I am on before i shut off my phone or switch to another book. It does save where you were, it just doesn't show you. For instance, if I start part three and then play music, and then go back to the book playlist, it will appear as if we are back to the beginning, but if I go to part three, it will start up from where I was. So, just start checking and then it is easy. I am flabbergasted that no other proper solution has been offered by Overdrive. This has been a problem since October. I also wish they would acknowledge the problem on their website as well as post what version number of update they have. I have 3.2.1.0 and think that's current. Does anyone have newer than this. Good luck, and happy commuting!
    An easy, quick workaround is to plug external speakers into your laptop and take it with you in the car. A bit unwieldy, but I can't commute without books.

    When fist setting up your new iphone you will be asked to log in with an apple id and password. If this did not happen you can then do as you suggested going to settings to itunes and app store and add your apple id login. This apple id login must have already been created for the iphone to accept it. If this apple id is already created but is not being accepted by your iphone you then should shut down your iphone and restart the device.
    Good luck.

    Why is my Apple ID not working in iTunes or App Store on my iPhone? When I try to buy apps or music it asks for Apple ID so I enter my info and nothing happens. When I go to settings/iTunes App Store my Apple ID is not there. When I enter my ID and password it does not save or link to account. I do not have this problem with iPad ID is stored and can be used in App Store and iTunes. I have just upgraded to 5c and it's still a problem.
