Playlist with mixed songs and videos

I'm trying to use a Nano to play music and videos with a projector system. I'd like to play a playlist with both mp3 audio files and mp4 music videos.
Setting up the playlist is no problem. In iTunes (Mac) it plays fine, switching between audio and video modes.
However, on my Nano, if I play the list from the Songs menu, I only get the audio from the video files. OK, fine, I understand the logic of that. But when I select the playlist from the Video Playlists menu, I only see the Videos and it won't play the music-only files.
Is there any way to get the Nano to play the mixed playlist like iTunes does?

You can't do it with the iPod nano, but I have been doing it with a 5th gen for several years. I was shocked to find out this feature is now gone in the new nano. I'm guessing (but would like confirmation) that the same is true for the iPod classic since they use the same GUI/OS.

I currently own a Powermac G4 Dual 1.42 Ghz running in latest OS X Tiger, I just saw the new iMacs with Intel and would be very interested in purchasng it asap, but the only thing keeping me away from buying it because I wouldn't know how to transfer all my songs, music videos, movies, playlist, album art, etc. in actual order I have it now... And would it have all the information the way I have it by having titles, artist name, album, year, genre, etc. since I have a whole bunch of songs and videos(from CDs, DVDs, downloads & purchased) almost 8000 altogether and also other softwares I currently have on my Mac...
I just hate the process of reinstalling them all over again to my New Mac if I do get it... So if there's a way to do it can someone can tell me if it's possible, show me step by step on how to do it, and I will be on my way to the Apple Store and get my New 20" iMacs... thanks in advance....

have you done this before and it kept all songs in the playlist in order?? coz i have like 50 playlist and like 8000 songs i dont want to put them in order of the playlist all over again... it would take me a long time to put it back together the way it is right now... anyway all i can do i guess is find out by buying the new iMac and transfer the iTunes Folder... if you have any other suggestions please let me know, thanks...

I deleted all songs from the iPad multiple times. Each time I reconnect and sync all of these songs sync instead of the chosen playlist. Settings on Summary page are Sync Only Selected Songs and Videos. Music only the playlist is checked.

How to I stop iTunes from reloading what was on the iPad instead of what I have selected? Summary screen shows "Sync only checked songs and videos" Music has only the selected playlist. All songs were deleted from iPad by swiping them to the left and hitting delete (very time consuming). Sync is set to manual. However whenever I hit Sync, the old music gets put back on the iPad. I have had this happen at least 6 times.

Solved it. "Automatically fill free space with songs" was checked on the Music page. Worked perfectly once this was unchecked.

Copy the entire itunes folder from the old computer to the new computer.

Can't Recover All Songs and Videos with new computer

well i used the check for purchases thing with my account when i got my new computer and itunes. but it only downloaded half the songs and videos like on the videos i bought 3 seasons of videos and it only gave me the odd number videos like 101,203,305,etc. so can someone help me and tell me how i can fix this because it won't let me use it again since i already used check for purchases.

The "Check for purchases" only works for items that have not already been downloaded. If the "missing" tracks and videos are ones that you successfully downloaded to your old computer, you have to copy them from the old computer to your new one yourself.
If the items in question were never successfully downloaded, contact the iTunes Music Store customer support department through the form at the bottom of this web page and explain the problem to them.

So, I accidently deleted Itunes from my cumputer. I downloaded it again but my library "Charles" was now "Itunes" , so it wasn't my Iphone's "home" library anymore ... And the case " Manually manage songs and videos" wasn't selected , but when I clic on it and put "Apply" a windows appear and tell my I have to Sync. with the new library because I can't do it with more than one library ... The result is : I can't manually manage songs from my cumputer to my iPhone with Itunes, If I sync I loose every songs and videos I have on my iPhone ! By design, the iphone will sync itunes content with one computer at a time. Any attempt to sync such content with a second computer will result in ALL itunes content being first erased from her phone & then replaced with the content from the second computer. This is a design feature and cannot be overridden. Because you are replacing your GF's computer, her phone will see this computer as a "new" computer. The itunes content sync is one way: computer to phone. If you have photos that were synced to her phone or music ripped on her own that were not backed up, you will first have to extract them from her phone using third party software, before you do anything else, as Apple makes no provision to do so:

Once you've done that, do the following in the order specified:
1. Disable auto sync when an iPod/iPhone is connected under Preferences>Devices in itunes(under the edit menu if using Windows).
2. Make sure you have one contact & one event in the supported applications(Address Book, iCal) on your computer. These entries can be fake, doesn't matter, the important point is that these programs not be empty.
3. Connect her phone, iTunes running, do not sync at this point.
4. Store>Authorize this computer.
5. File>Transfer Purchases(To make sure all purchased content on her phone will be in her itunes library).
6. Right click in the device pane & select reset warnings.
7. Right click again and select backup.
8. Right click again & select restore from backup, select the backup you just made. When prompted to create another backup, decline.
9. This MUST be followed by a sync to restore her itunes content, which you select from the various tabs, You'll get a popup regarding her contacts & calendars asking to merge or replace, select merge.
You should be good to go.

Sync with vista doubles up some songs and video

when I sync my iphone 5 to my vista computer it makes copies of some of the song and videos even if i dellete on phone and computer they come back on next sync why?

Sounds like you may need to re-download the entire albums from iTunes. See this KB article for how to download past purchases: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT2519.
I'd suggest doing it one album at a time. Delete one, download it from your purchase histor, then the next, etc.

Per your description, this should not be a problem from within iMovie '08. Adding slideshows created in iPhoto (contain "Tween" tracks that iMovie '08 doesn't like) or dropping too many photos on top of a single video clip (iMovie '08 can be touchy about initial placement of dropped photos) can, however, create potential problems.

Songs and videos grayed out and missing items.

I've had my ipod for a year with no problems and all of a sudden hundreds of songs and videos have little exclamations marks in circles next to them and an error message pops up that says they can't be found. Also, other songs are all grayed out when you go to info and you can't make any changes. Can anyone shed some light on what is going on?

I have the same problem. Mac OS 10.5.3. Intel iMAC core duo. When I upgraded to iTunes 7.6.2 all of my playlists went grey. Both Music and Movie Playlists.
I installed the latest version of quicktime which did not fix the video playlist greyed out issue as noted in other areas of the support forums.

Renaming songs and videos

I recently lost the drive that contains all of my songs and my video files for my collection. Thankfully I have everything on my 5th Generation iPod. I know how to transfer all of the songs and videos off of the iPod and onto a new computer. My question is when you look at the files they are all named with a series of 4 alpha numeric characters. Is there a good way to mass rename these files? With all of my songs and vidoes there are over 9000 files and going through and renaming them manually would be a very time consuming headache. Any tips on how I can get these renamed?
Also on a side note is there a place on the iPod where it stores playlists so I don't have to completely rebuild them?

First off, try resetting your iPod. To reset an iPod:
Press and hold the Menu and Select (center) buttons together for 5-10 seconds.
Thia may take several attempts. For more effect, try connecting your iPod to a power source, like your computer's USB port (or a wall charger, if available).
If this only happens when using your iPod (or accessing its songs through iTunes), then I would suggest that you try restoring your iPod to factory settings.

How can I gift a playlist, with the songs in the order I choose, to a bunch of other people? Since iTunes won't allow me to burn a song more than a few times to disc, and I have to share playlists with my cover band (so we can learn songs), I need the capability to do this.

Drag them from where? I've tried to drag them from windows explorer and it won't allow me. It seems the only place I can drag files from is from the iTunes library list. The problem is there is no way that I can find to just see the songs from a specific folder on my drive in the iTunes library list. It sorts them by artist, album, genre, etc....but not by folder.

Getting songs and videos back I've already purchased

I have the 2nd generation iPod touch. I just upgraded my old software 3.1.1 to the new 4.1 software. It took about 5 hours to back up my iPod do all this other stuff. Apparently it restored it to factory settings so I lost all my videos and songs. 5) Tried running Itunes in 'safe mode', running itunes as an administrator..nothing.
Was that iTunes' safe mode as opposed to Windows' safe mode? iTunes safe mode is invoked by holding down CTRL+SHIFT immediately after clicking the icon to launch iTunes and continuing to hold until this message pops up:
Click continue, then close iTunes and reopen. With luck iTunes now opens normally every time.
