Playlists are all lost after Updating iTunes

About a week ago I updated my iTunes to the latest version and after my iTunes didn't recognize any of my songs and playlists that I had in my iTunes everything is fine on my iPhone still but all of my playlists are wiped on my iMac. My iTunes doesn't even find my Purchased songs which I had before as well. Help me!

all of the links there are just saying that I should go at the purchased list /tab and redownload it... but the ringtone i bought before is not on my latest purchased list .. thats my problem i dont know why .

try to reinstall again. They had a message last night that there was an error, the download wasn't available for awhile, I was able to download and reinstall this morning.

I followed all the instructions on the suggested page. Many files in C:\Program Files\Common Files\Apple\ and C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Apple\ could not be deleted. Message said ""Cannot delete files: It is being used by another person or program"' but could not find iPodService.exe in task manager (also, the "Cannont delete ... " did not mention iPodService.exe).
Deleted all that I could. Reinstalled iTunes. Still same result. iTunes and computer both recognize my old iPod. Only the computer recognizes iPod Touch.

This seems to be most common with lower resolution pictures. You can go into settings > general > accessibility and turn reduce motion motion off and then try to rescale. Or user a higher resolution picture, which works better with the new OS.

This error occurs when the device unexpectedly loses its USB connection with iTunes. This can occur if you manually disconnect the device during the restore process. It sounds like you bough the song only, not the song and the ringtone.
Ringtones via itunes are available in the U.S. only.
In the U.S. to make a ringtone you:
Buy the song with a bell - 99 cents
Find the song in your library and click the bell
This bring up the editor.
You edit the song to the portion you want.
Then click buy to purchase the ringtone - another 99 cents.
Then it shows up in ringtones and you can sync.
As I said, this method of creating ringtones is available in the U.S. only.

Home Sharing no longer working after updating iTunes

After updating iTunes on both my computers to version 10.7, the home sharing feature is now not working. One computer can see and access the other's library but the other cannot see its. I have checked the sharing preferences on both computers. Both have 'Share my library on my local network' and 'Share entire library' checked and neither are set to require a password. I have turned on home sharing from the 'Advanced' sub menu in the menu bar and both use the same Apple ID.
Any thoughts on how I can fix this. I think it is just a bug and should hopefully get fixed but maybe it's just me.

I'm up and running. Spoke with Apple and they had me go to : preferences, network and create a new location. That seems to have reset something. I had to reset all my devices back to my main network that had stopped working. The guest network will not let Home Sharing work, only the main network.
Others have been able to use Home Sharing without clicking "Done" after typing in their password. After you click "Done" the Shared disappears in iTunes.
Apple help people were GREAT!

Cant view multipage tiff files in browser after updating ITUNES

I can't view multi-page tiff files in my browser after updating Itunes. I am not sure why an Itunes update would stop the viewing of Multi-page Tiff files, but it did!
Is there a fix for this?

That's unfortunate. Are you stating that you have no backup of your media which is ultimately your responsibility?
Sorry, but if you have lost media and data and have no backup then the ONLY place to place blame is with the user that failed to backup those files.

I have the usual playlists for Music. rock, disco, classic and some techno etc.
These are all full with the sounds i chose to be within these folder on my computer and also on my iPhone,
As expected they are all within my Music app on my iPhone. they are after all music.
As unexpected the 5 or 6 Movie playlist folders were also there,
Here i could access my tutorial movies for varoius subjects. yes from the music app.

video1 for photoshop is now with video1 for all the other subjects and i no longer have the ability to group my films.
i can see my movie playlist folders in the music app but all these flders are now showing nothing inside.
i would think this to be logicaly true but then the folders should not show either..... these should, now show in my videos app,
But they do not.
whats going on?
am i missing something
or has Apple just missed something?

Although it’s immensely popular, repairing permissions is a waste of time unless you have a specific indication of a permission error involving system files, which is rare, or a boot failure. It is not a universal rite of healing for computers. It has traditionally spewed bogus warning messages that mean absolutely nothing.
The built-in help for Disk Utility reads in part:

After updating itunes ti wont work anymore

hey, i hav had my ipod scince the end of july and hav never had any problems with that or itunes until recently. After updating itunes a message came up when i tried to use it after the instalation saying files are missing and to reinstall itunes, which i have done repeatedly which have not worked, i hav tried many various strategies to rectify the problem with no prevail, could someone please help me with this as i dont know a lot about computers as i am only 15.

Delete the file "C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Apple Computer\iTunes\SC Info\Sc Info.sidb"
If you don't know how to get there, then go to Start, then Search, and search for "Sc Info.sidb", then delete it from there.
After deleting that file, restart you computer and then try running iTunes again.

It sounds like you are unable to connect your iOS devices without it becoming unresponsive. That would frustrate me too. I would use the following article about that very issue to help you resolve that:

Start with these 3 steps to make sure the other devices are up to date as well, and there is additional troubleshooting to be done in the article if needed:
Install any available software updates for your computer.

For Windows: Refer to the documentation for your computer for instructions on using Windows Update to update your computer.
Update iTunes to the latest version.

Test with automatic syncing disabled.

After updating Itunes to 11.0.4.4 my sync will not work as it says there is insufficient space when nothing else changed?

I recently updated my iTunes to 11.0.4.4. After doing this, my ipod touch 4Gen will no longer sync as it gives me a statement about the system not having enough memory left to sync ["The iPod...cannot be synced because there is not enough free space to hold all of the items in the iTunes library (additional 2.73GB required)"]. It has 7.96 GB free on a 32GB iPod. It synced just fine prior to the update and I did not add more than 7.96 GB of files to the library after updating iTunes. Please Help! This is a fustrating situation where I can not sync my music, or anything else for that matter, with this issue. Thanks in advance for all your help.

I tried the manual method. I was able to set the music/video to manual and then restarted the entire system. After restart, I re-attached the ipod touch to the computer. The sync automatically ran for everything that wasn't set to manual and it completed without a problem. I then reset the music/video to automatically sync and restarted the entire coputer/ipod set again. This time when I re-attached the ipod, EVERYTHING synced and there were no problems reported. I've never had to do this before, but I will keep it in mind if something like this happens again. Thank you for pointing me to the manual sync.

I also get error code 7 (Windows error 1114), saying itunes wasn't installed correctly. It appears that I am not the only one with this issue. what is wrong with the latest update?? These days it's quite normal to get a long list of 'errors' on doing a permissions repair because Disk Utility has not been upgraded to allow for some changes made to the system.
As long as at the bottom of the list it says 'Permissions repair complete' you can safely ignore them all.
