Playlists from Zen Touch to Zen Vis

ps.
Successfully backup all the music files and playlists on the hard dri've but cannot get Creative Media Source to recognize the Vision. XP, device manager acknowledges it and shows up in the windows directory but can't synch there. Media Player sees it as well but it doesn't acknowledge/see my backup playlist files.
Who's the hero out there?

- Well I never owned a Touch, but all my other Creative players did show up in explorer.. even when I used MediaSource on windows xp sp2.
The support site also lists it as a possibility.

Can't Sync Playlists from iPod Touch to New Library
I just upgraded from an old Pentium computer to a new Dell XPS 18 running Windows 8.1.  Downloaded latest version of iTunes to the new computer, then successfully transferred library content from the old computer to the new one via the external hard drive method.  All material -- iTunes purchases, music ripped from CDs, a movie, even MP3 files purchased long ago from another source -- transferred successfully; everything plays on the new computer just fine.
My problem is that the "old" playlists didn't transfer over.  After connecting my iPod Touch to the new computer, I verified that the iPod has the latest version of iOS, and its content (including the old/original playlists) displays in the window on the left-hand side of the iTunes screen.  The really frustrating thing is that I can find no way to transfer the old playlists to my new iTunes library.  I've tried dragging and dropping, selecting and pasting, and exploration of all the options menus, but no luck.  Creating a new playlist in the new library and then clicking on the "Add To" button opens up a window into which to drop dragged songs/folders from the new library listing, but simultaneously closes the left-hand display window with all of my iPod's current playlists depicted.
I appear successfully to have backed up my iPod to the new computer, but all the sync menu options are grayed out.  When I tried clicking on the Sync button, I got a warning that syncing to the new library would erase everything from the old library -- presumably obliterating my playlists with it.  I have about a dozen different playlists, some of them with several hundred songs, drawn from a library of a few thousand individual items.  Is there some means of importing/transferring the old playlists to the new computer/library, so that I don't manually have to drag and drop hundreds and hundreds of songs into a new set of playlists?  Am I overlooking something really obvious or simple?  Can I safely turn on Home Sharing and then import or paste the old playlists into the new computer's library.  I don't think I'm too much of a Luddite, but given the size of my library I'm very leery of turning on Home Sharing (to the old Pentium computer) after I've successfully transferred over many GBs of content from the old machine to the new.
    Thanks very much --

  • Which would be a better purchase, Zen Touch or Zen Mic

Okay for christmas this year I am asking for an mp3 player. Ive done my research and decided between the Zen Touch or Zen Micro so that I may take advantage of Napsters music downloading service. Now my delima is which would be a better purchase. Ive read reviews on amazon, epinions, and cnet. As far as the Micro goes its a love/hate type of thing while i've read only good reviews of the Touch. Now the Touch doesnt seem as popular and for what reason I dont know. Also i've noticed the Micro has a great number of more accessories than the Zen Touch. Now taking into consideration accessories and durability which would you say is the better LONG term purchase?
    -Thanks

If you are planning on using subscriptoin music, I would go with the Touch, as it is a 20GB player and you have unlimited music to download (more space=more music )
Don't get it wrong, the Micro is awesome, I would have got it if I didn't have so much music.
And my guess as to why the Touch is not as popular as the Micro is that people don't like the way it looks and it's size (which is understandable, because of it's 24hour battery).
The Touch is also a great value, because it comes with an AC power cable (the Micro used to come with this when it first came out, but now it is sold separatley), and a carrying pouch (I replaced mine with a better because you can't aceess the MP3 player while it is in the pouch, making it a bit inconvenient). On top of it all, the 20GB version sells for around $200. And with the new firmware, the "over-sensiti've" touchpad that many reviews claim is now taken care of, and it is as easy to use as the Zen Micro's touchpad .
All in all, it is down to what you want:
a 5GB MP3 player that looks cool and comes in 0 different colors
or a 20GB player that comes with a few extra acessories. Both are around the same price (the Micro may be $20 cheaper, if it is on sale).

  • ZEN TOUCH or Zen Micro? Which is bett

I'm interested in buying one or the other but am unsure which to purchase. I like the fact that Zen Micro has repeat, resume and random play as well as a stand and belt clip. I also like the fact that it has fm radio and comes in lots of colors. But I love the fact that Zen Touch has a larger storage capacity and is already compatible with WMP 0 without having to hopefully download additional software. Which has a better sound capacity? I have quite a bit of songs with a heavy bass from club songs as well as
hip hop/r &b tracks. Also does either player play songs longer than 4 minutes? I have a couple of songs that are about 9 minutes long. I'm looking for one that is the most user friendly and will not be something I'll have to replace anytime soon because I've run out of space. Does anyone know if the the Zrn Touch will be coming out in various colors like the micro? Any insight into a good choice is greatly appreciated.

Many things are taken into consideration between the touch and micro. Here are some.
    Touch
    - has more hard dri've space
2- Has a dedicated volume button and has a mix of buttons and touchpad(lot of ppl like that)
3- People seem to have a lot of prob with the touch software and touch does not offer EAX options
4- The LCD light could use a fixing.
    Micro
    - Smaller HD than the touch (5 GB)
2- Comes with a lot of features for its price. (FM, MIC, date and planner, removable disc mode, etc)
3- Better looking and is more compact and smaller, fits almost newhere.
4 - Software is better and is more reliable, plus removable battery.
    5 - 0 colors to choose from.
6 - Comes with a few of accesories ( Belt clip, stand, pouch)
Final - I have tried both the touch and micro for 2 months respecti'vely and the micro is better cause of its many features and creative really stepped up and fixed many problems that people were having with the touch so i suggest u go with the ZEN micro

Looking for some decision help here. From the research I've done it's narrowed down to a Creative MP3 player. Without going into all the details I thought I'd throw this question out to the community.
At newegg I can get a 20gb Zen Touch for $226.99 or a 30gb Zen Xtra for $205.99
    Which would you buy?

  • The old Zen touch into zen vision w tr

I'm sure this has been posted years ago, but is there any way to put the music from the zen touch back into your computer or into the zen vision w. Or is it that the zen touch really sucks because its encrypted?

Encrypted? Definitely not. I am able to transfer files between my Touch and my computer without a problem. Are the files you are trying to transfer from an online store? or are they from CDs that you have ripped?Eric

  • Differences Zen NX, Zen Touch and Zen 2

    Hi,
Can anyone tell me what the main differences are between the Zen NX, The Zen touch and the Zen 20GB? I've been looking into these three models for a while now, but haven't found any major differences. My main goal is to have my entire music collection on the player, and I would like to be able to sort my music on genre or in playlists. But as far as I know, all of the players I just named are able to do that. Which one would be the best one to go for?
    Thanks,
    Peter

  • Zen Touch or Zen Mi

Hi, I want to get a digital music player but I'm in a bit of a dilemma. The Zen Touch and Micro are the same price but obviously the Touch has four times the capacity of the Micro. The problem is I only have 3.8GB of music and while I might get a bit more there's only a possibility I might need the extra space. What I basically want to know is if there is any advantage to having a Micro over a Touch, as if there isn't I may as well go for the Touch.
I know there isn't much chance that anybody actually owns both of these but if anyone can help me I'd be grateful.
    Thanks.

I have a 5gb micro, with about 8 gb of music, i got it because i dont listen to all of that music at once, and my old MuVo TX could only hold about 5 or 6 CD's at a time. So if you have almost 4gb, maybe you should consider the micro over the touch. It is indeed smalller, more portable, the batteries can be swapped out, FM radio, and i hear that the touch pad on the touch is overly sensiti've. the Micro is really easy for me to use, but again, i've never used a touch.

  • IPod, Zen Touch or Zen Mic

I want to buy an mp3 player but I have no idea what to buy. I've read A LOT of reviews and I've basically boiled it down to the iPod mini, the Zen Touch or the Zen Micro. Unfortunately, there are no real reviews for the Zen Micro because people don't have it yet. However, one big advantage is the removable battery. Now, I need someone to convince me why:
    a. Choose Creative Zen over iPod
    b. Why should a buy the Zen Micro (5GB) when I can spend the same amount of money and get a Zen Touch 20GB? That's a lot of extra space to consider.
If you know any other good mp3 players, please write them down. I'm just looking for strong durability, good sound quality and a sensible interface. The battery issue is also a big concern.

A: Why Creative over Apple? Simple. PRICE. In my opinion, iPods are just ridiculously overpriced. Creative's products are at least priced sensibly.
B: I guess the major issue here is size. While the micro can easily be lost in your pocket, the Touch has more mass.
I, however, would buy the Micro instead of the Touch because the Touch's battery CANNOT be removed, whereas the Micro's can. So if for some reason you come across a glitch with the mp3 player, you can just pop the battery out and pop it back in, resetting the MP3 player. Also, if you need a replacement battery (since all batteries go bad after extended use), you can just buy a new battery instead a whole new MP3 player.
You can check out unbiased reviews/previews, here for the micro and here for the touch.

I spoke to a lovely lady at Exspect today and she confirmed that the Amazon uk info is incorrect. The first batch are due to arri've in the UK on the 27th of this month and therefore will not be available until the first or most likely second week in June.
So that is later than the May deadline mentioned previously on this forum. But she said that because it is their first batch, that Exspect want to make sure they are 50% Quality checked. They look way cool and come with a lanyard

    Mrspike
I tried typing in a US address in my amazon.uk account to see if it would allow an order for the skins to the US. Regrettably they count this as an electrical item and they will only ship book, dvd,cd items to America, sorry. Its really stupid but thats amazon for you!
I searched through the other shops on the Exspect website and HMV will send stuff to America (and most places) no problem. But I don't know if they will have this item available for order online it may be inshop only. HMV international info page link b?low

  • Transferring audio from zen touch to zen vision: m possib

Hi. So this is my first message, and I've just purchased a Vision M. I already have a 3 year old Touch, 40GB. I love it, I just wanted an upgrade, and like the compatibility I find with the Creative line.
I have nearly 5 GB of music/audio files on my Touch... nearly every single CD I own is on it. (I think I've a bit of audiophile in me... :P )
So here is my question: Is there any way I can transfer the music I have on my Touch to the Vision M without having to load it all back up on my computer? (some of it is there, just not all of it..) It would be so much easier if there were a compatibility driver of sorts to transfer the files from one player to the next more quickly. I realize that the chances of this are slim, and I've never heard of it on any other platform, but you never know. I did use the Creative MediaSource Organizer to transfer all the files, and they are all in the same format (MP3). If anyone has any information regarding this, it would be greatly appreciated.
    thanks,
    deb

have you tried plugging both into the computer at the same time? If you can do that, what shows up in windows explorer?
If they both show up then it would seem that simple drag and drop would work.

  • ITunes deleted songs/videos/playlists from iPod touch and won't sync them onto iPod, but songs can still be played on iTunes however I just can't transfer them back onto my iPod. HELP!

Hey, so I'm wondering if any of you can help me with this issue, I'd be unbelievably grateful for any help, I can't resolve it and I dislike my long commute without my iPod to listen to! Thanks in advance
HOW IT HAPPENED: I had my iPod touch (32GB, 3rd generation) plugged into a speaker charging whilst playing music, and simultaneously I had iTunes (latest version for windows) open on my laptop (Dell - Windows). My iPod started to sync wirelessly with iTunes on my laptop and my music suddenly cut off.
WHAT HAPPENED: Once the sync had finished, all (almost 4000) songs (and videos) had been wiped off my iPod (including any playlists) with the exception of less than thirty songs, all of which I'd noticed were songs I'd purchased on the iTunes store, a seemingly random selection though - some from a couple of months ago, some from a couple of years ago.
I closed down everything on my laptop and restarted both laptop, iTunes and iPod then plugged my iPod in to sync. My iTunes library on my laptop is fully intact, complete with playlists, and I'm able to play songs normally from there, however despite numerous attempts, they just won't sync onto my iPod. Interestingly, no apps were deleted from my iPod. There's plenty of room on my iPod now, and even when everything on my iTunes library is synced onto it, there's still around 3GB space, so it can't be an issue to do with lack of space. I have no idea why it's happened, and the settings are for everything on iTunes to be synced to my iPod (I checked again) so it's not an issue with selective items to sync only either.
A huge thank-you to anyone who can help me!

I have the same problem!! only thing is that i have the ipod touch 5th generation and a mac. I've been trying to find a way to get all my music to play cuz it will only play on itunes but when i try to play it on my ipod it'll just show a circle with a red square in the middle next to the songs i cant play.
