Playlists missing after copying library to new computer

I have just used my iPod to copy my iTunes library to my new computer following the instructions on the iTunes website, but contrary to what it promised, while it has copied the music, all the playlists are missing. Can anyone help me to avoid having to make all the playlists again?

I have moved my itunes files from my old computer to my new computer. I went into Preferences to link to the new file, but the library and songs do not show up in itunes. I went through the files and added the songs manually to the library, but the playlists are not there? What did I do wrong? I want to copy my music from my iPod classic 80GB to my MacBook Pro and then copy some of that music to my iPhone 4.

You cannot copy from an iPod.
You should have the content of the iPod Classic in an iTunes Library on a computer. Let the iPhone Sync with that Library.

But since you got your old system transferred, this mean that your library and your playlist are in the new Computer.

Can't find previous itunes file after moving info to an external drive to move library to new computer!!! HELP

I have moved my itunes files numerous times to new computers as I get one. This last time I had everything running off an external drive, to conserve hard drive space on computer and hopefully from computer failure. I need to move library over to new computer and get away from old computer that has Windows XP to the computer with windows 7. After installing itunes on new computer and plugging in external to new computer, it finds all music and movies, etc., however, I can't seem to find the file that has the playlist info, play count, and to see where the backups of my iphone(s) are. I have been working at this for days to no avail. It may be right in front of my face but can't see where to find it. HELP!!!!

I have a new Macbook Pro. I transfered the content of my itunes folder from my previous laptop to the new machine but playlists did not transfer. Now I have my playlists on my iphone but want to sync to new computer but Itunes warns me that if I sync my data on the phone will be replaced by the data on my computer, which I do not want to happen because then i would lose my playlists. I have just transferred my iTunes library from PC to new MacBook Pro and I have an inkling that you may not have copied over your iTunes library files properly from your old library. If you copy over your old library files properly (iTunes library and xml library file- found in iTunes folder on computer)then it should re-create all of your old playlists, ratings etc on new machine.There are lots of postings on this support forum and internet about transferring iTunes library to new computer, may help if you give a bit more detail about how you copied over library in first place and then work from there.

Sync is only oneway, from PC to your device. Unless you have the music on your PC, iTunes is going to wipe out what you have on your device if you are syncing to a new library.
You can only transfer Purchased music over to Itunes on your PC.

Application Manager no longer works after I got a new computer.

Application Manager no longer works after I got a new computer.
I moved all of my data from one mac to the other, but the Adobe Suite no longer works.
I tried to re-install it, but it says now that Application Manager is damaged, it keeps sending me to the download page, I download, it starts installing then it says it is damaged, and so on... Got any idea?

Locate Adobe Creative Cloud and Adobe Application Manager folder under Utilities window and trash both folders.
2) Trash Adobe Creative Cloud from Applications well.

Click on the below link and download & run Adobe Cleaner tool :
Select the option "Adobe Application Manager for Mac OS X 10.6" and then click on "Clean up Selected" .

Once the installation process is completed , the installation box will disappear. Then open Application folder and locate Adobe application manager icon and double click on it .

If my memory serves me correctly you can only have Aperture 3 installed on 1 computer at a time so if you have it installed on the original Mac and this new system at the same time it may give you a multiple installations detected warning or something of that nature.

That is correct however Aperture does allow multiple installs to allow a user to have Aperture running on one computer at a time. For example a photographer may have a MacPro notebook and and Mac Pro desktop. He can use the license when he's on a shoot in the field using the MBP while the Mac Pro sits dormant at home. The software is sophisticated enough to detect he's trying to run one license on multiple machines simultaneously. I have successfully migrated Aperture myself and use it on my iMac and MacBook Air however as stated only one machine at a time.
The OP mentions the machine is new to him, which complicates matters quite a bit. I hope he got the original media from the seller if he did not then there is a good chance he is running illegal software and was duped by the seller. The OP doesn't say where he got the iMac so I'm assuming he bought it used, if I am correct then this is one the problems of buying used, caveat emptor. If I'm incorrect (like maybe it was a hand-me-down from a relative) then all he needs to do is get the media and key code.
Apple is careful on it's licensing on it's professional software.
