Playlists on iTunes are not syncing correctly with iPhone on iOS 7-only 48 of 134 songs on one playlist are appearing (all songs are checked and I've tried this both hardwire and wireless)...help!

So, I could use help from people who know mre about this than I do. I did a sync last night between iTunes on my Mac (latest version of iTunes) and my iPhone 5 running iOS 7. For some reason, about 90 songs in one of my playlists have disappeared.
The songs are all checked in the playlist in iTunes
The songs were all on the iPhone playlist prior to the sync
I've tried a sync again both by hardwire and wifi
I added a song to the playlist on iTunes and the song appeared in the iPhone playlist, but none of the other 90+ songs came back
I haven't checked my other playlists to see what is there and what isn't (I have lots of music, so this would take days to verify).
I've thought about managing my music manually, but I would have to rebuild everything from scratch on the phone which would take days and I'd never get everything back to the right place.
In as much as I'm otherwise liking iOS 7, the new iTunes app for iOS 7 has been a real pain. This is what's really put me over the edge on it!
If you all have any suggestions that could help, I'd really appreciate it! The playlist I'm referencing most specifically is my most-used playlist and I'd love to have it right.
Thanks!

Hi oxman78,
That definitely sounds frustrating! Let's give this a go to see if we can isolate the issue futher:
First, connect your device and choose the "Music" tab. Next, uncheck the "Sync Music" checkbox, and apply the changes (so there is ultimately no music syncing to your iPhone).
Once you have done that, recheck the "Sync Music" checkbox, and apply the changes once more. This will instruct iTunes to completely remove all music from your iPhone, and then copy the files once more. If you have a large amount of music, this initial sync may take a while.

  • IPhoto events not syncing correctly with iPhone

    Hello,
Basically, my iPhoto events are not syncing correctly with my iPhone. Some events will sync, whereas others won't, though no error messages are ever displayed.
I have all my photos, 961 photos in 34 events, organised in iPhoto, however iTunes doesn't seem to recognise all of these events, only reporting 881 photos. I've got iTunes set up to "Sync photos from iPhoto - All events" and this works for most events, but not all.
On my iPhone, I can tell which events are missing, but no matter how many times I restart my Mac or sync my iPhone, it refuses to sync the few missing albums. There is over 4Gb of available space left on the iPhone, so this shouldn't be an issue.
    Many thanks in advance.
    Peter.

Any ideas, please? I hope I explained my issue clearly enough.
    Thank you,
    Peter.

  • One of my playlists in iTunes is not syncing correctly to my iPhone

When my iPhone updated to iOS 7 a while back, I started having a problem with one of my Playlists. I was willing to ignore it for a while, but it's become enough of a nuisance that I'm seeking a solution.
I have a smart playlist called "Unrated", which I've set to contain any "Media Kind is Music" and "Rating is (none)". Before iOS 7, this correctly filtered to only new, unrated songs I'd recently added to my iTunes library, letting me play them on my iPhone and rate them as I went along. After iOS 7's update, however, the list still filters correctly within iTunes, but not when I sync my phone to it.
First, there seemed to be a random sampling of hundreds of songs showing up in playlist on my phone, even though I'd rated them. Eventually, I figured out that problem: I was syncing only some of my library to my phone because of space limitations, and any song I'd purchased from iTunes (not ripped from CD) was showing up there even if it wasn't really on my phone. I tried adding a condition to my smart playlist to weed out the iCloud (a feature I don't want to use because of cell data rates), and that still didn't work, so finally I just ended up adjusting my sync requirements to make sure that every song I'd purchased from iTunes was always synced to my phone. That took care of the rated songs appearing... but left my Unrated playlist completely empty. Even truly unrated songs I added to the library would show up in iTunes but not on my phone.
So I did some searching of the forums here, and read about the "dummy playlist" solution. Set up your intended playlist (the one I described above), then set up ANOTHER playlist whose only conditions are "Playlist is (the other playlist)", and that should work. But I tried that, and the newly created playlist didn't even appear on my iPhone at all.
Thoughts? Help? Bug that Apple's going to have to fix? Please?

Hi all.  I can’t tell you how to solve your iCloud 3.x issues.  Heck, I don’t think they’re even solvable.
But if you had a previous version of iCloud that was working correctly then I can definitely tell you how to solve the “iCloud Photo Stream is not syncing correctly to my Windows 7 PC” problem.  …without even a re-boot.
Log out of iCloud 3.0 and uninstall it.
Open My Computer and then open your C:\ drive.  Go to Tools/Folder Options and click on the View tab.  Select the “Show hidden…” radio button and click on OK.
    Open the Users folder.
    Open your user folder
    Open ProgramData (previously hidden folder)
Open the Apple folder – not the Apple Computer folder.
    Open the Installer Cache folder
In Details view sort on Name
Open the folder for the newest entry for iCloud Control Panel 2.x – probably 2.1.2.8 dated 4/25/2013
Right click on iCloud64.msi and select Install.
When finished, the synching between iCloud and your PC will be back to working perfectly as before the 3.0 fiasco.  The pictures will be synched to the same Photostream folder as before the “upgrade”.  Now all you need to do is wait until Apple/Microsoft get this thing fixed and working before you try the 3.x upgrade again.
I think the iCloud 3.0 software was written by the same folks who wrote healthcare.gov with the main difference being that healthcare.gov might eventually be made to work.
For those of you who hate to go backwards, think of it as attacking to the rear.  Which would you rather have, the frustration of no synching or everything working on an older version?
    Good luck…

  • ITunes still not syncing correctly with iPhoto 9.4.3

Since upgrading to version 9.4.x, iTunes hasn't been syncing correctly with iPhoto. There were duplicated events/albums, missing photos, photos not appearing in the same order on iOS devices as they do in iPhoto, etc.
With each version upgrade since 9.4, this seems to have been improving bit by bit. I have just upgraded to 9.4.3, and now photos appear in the same order as they do in iPhoto. The only problem left for me, is that there are still photos missing in iTunes. Which photos that are missing seems to be completely random.
I have tried rebuilding the library, which made matters a lot worse. Using 3rd party software like iPhoto library manager to rebuild the library didn't help either (iTunes syncing became a total mess, even more photos were missing afterwards).
I hope by version 9.4.4, iTunes will read all info correctly from iPhoto again, as it did in version 9.3.2. Anyone else still experience problems?

Sorry about that. Well, I've tried deleting the AlbumData.xml file as suggested also, but iPhoto itself generates a new file every time it's opened, so that's really a dead end. Rebuilding the library and through iPhoto Library Manager are the steps that required most work, and both did not work either, unfortunately.
I do believe that I'm not the only experiencing iTunes syncing problem, as there have been many posts here before when 9.4 came out. Like I wrote, it has been better with each upgrade, so there's definitely something in the coding with 9.4.x that messes things up. I had no trouble whatsoever with version 9.3.2 and prior to that.

Please share a comprehensive list of things you've already tried so we won't your time - and ours - making suggestions you already know won't work.
Library size is not part of this issue. 12k photos is not a large library these days, I have one four times that size with no syncing issues.

  • Calendars that are not syncing successfully with iphone

I am making scheduling errors now because appointments made on my laptop are not being pushed onto my iphone. It has been working fine until suddenly...and I don't know if or what I would have changed to bring this about. Help me, please!!!

    touche99
I had the same problem and fixed it like so:
-Create a new calendar in Outlook File>New>Calendar. Name it whatever you choose and Select Calendar from "Select where to place the folder"
-Export current calendar to file using comma separated values (windows). File>Import and Export…>Export to a file>Next>Comma Separated Values (Windows)>Next>Select folder to export from(calendar name)>Next>Save exported file as(click browse and choose file name)>click OK>Next>Finish
-File>Import and Export…>Import from another program or file>Next> Comma Separated Values (Windows)>Next>File to Import>click browse and choose file name>Next>Select a destination folder (choose new calendar)>Next
-In the info section of iTunes select sync selected calendar and choose new calendar.
    -Sync iPhone
-If you uncheck your previous calendar in the sync box, it will no longer appear in your iPhone and the new calendar will become your primary. You can use your old calendar as a reference until it is no longer needed and then delete at the time of your choosing.
-It will now sync back and forth.

  • Movie playlist in iTunes is not showing up on iPhone after manually managing syncing and including movies from playlist.

Movie playlist in iTunes is not showing up on iPhone after manually managing syncing and including movies from playlist.

Thank you.  This solved my problem too.
But, one little thing to share:
"There's an option in settings for Playlists. It was set to Music only. Changed that to All then found the movie playlist under Movies by selecting Genre."
This is not to be done in iTunes in your computer; this is to be done at your apple TV under "setting". "audio video" "show playlist" "music only/all"
I am posting this here because I started chat mode with Apple support last night at midnight till 1:30, they didn't know what to do.
They called me back this morning at 10 am.
    It's not 11:40 they finally know what I am talking about and showed me where to to find the "music only / all" toggle.  My problem is now fixed;
all these time, they have in front of them a screen shot of your questions and answer but they don't know where to change it from music only to all.
So, I hope this will save the next victim a lot of time.
    Again, thank you.

  • ITunes could not sync calendars to iPhone because the iPhone disconnected

    error message
iTunes could not sync calendars to iPhone because the iPhone disconnected
I have spoken to Apple a couple of times in the last week (approx 2hr) apple support said it could be a Microsoft issue I have spoken to Microsoft and read endless information from the net and it seems that Microsoft is not the issue.
I have uninstalled itunes and reinstalled, reset all settings in Settings\General on the phone, reset sync history on the iPhone, upgraded microsoft office 2003 to 2007 and I am still getting the error message.
I have a iPhone 3G, pc is running windows 7 and just upgraded to microsoft office Home and Student 2007 and Office Outlook 2007.
    iTunes version 11.0.2.26
    iPhone iOS 6.1.3
I have the same error on my wife's iPhone as well.
    Any help would be great.

Thanks midwestcraft. I had this problem and your answer solved it for me.
Thought this further info may be of use to some who wants more historic dates in their calendar.
I had "do not sync events older than" unchecked and the input field set to "0". When I changed it to 180, it worked perfectly. I've found that I can increase this number to "545" - anything higher causes the error. This seems to coincide with some strange multiple-entry events in my calendar.
Don't know if this will be a clue for somebody to fix the issue.

  • Message "iTunes could not sync contacts to iPhone because an error occurred while committing data"

Hello all. I recently replaced the HD in my MacBook Pro. Just after, I retrieved my old files from the Time Machine backup, which I made just before the replacement. During the first sync of my iPhone via iTunes and while I was trying to sync my contacts I saw the message "iTunes could not sync contacts to iPhone because an error occurred while committing data". After that, I lost my iPhone contacts (I have them only from iCloud). The only problem is contacts, all the others (Calendars, Apps) are normally syncing. Does anybody has a solution? Thanks in advance!

    hello,
There was a similiar posting that I have seen from others and they found out that the back up was bad. https://discussions.apple.com/message/6139533#6139533
I would use a previous backup (earlier one) to the one you have tried to just do.

  • ITunes doesn't sync iCal with iPhone after upgraded to Mountain Lion

iTunes doesn't sync iCal with iPhone after upgraded to Mountain Lion. I even tried to use Replace Information On This iPhone and it doesn't work. Any idea guys?

I'm having the same problem. It's as if my iPhone and MacBook Pro now have two separate calendars.
Basically, I have a MacBook Pro (Mountain Lion, 13", late 2011) that I sync via USB with an iPhone 4S (iOS 5.1.1). Before upgrading to Mountain Lion, all of my iCal events would sync flawlessly. But none of the events I've created in iCal (Calendars) since upgrading have synced to the iPhone. Likewise, no new events that I create on the iPhone Calendar will sync to iCal. Also, changes to an existing event (even one created before upgrading to Mountain Lion) don't get synced either.
Everything else seems to be syncing just fine though (music, apps, contacts, etc).

You will have to put your phone into recovery mode and restore the phone as new. Since you don't have a back up, you will lose all the data on your phone but you will be able to use it again.
