Plays only part of the song

New to ipods. We have two new ipods one is a mini and
the other is ipod with video. The problem is there is
one song (spirit in sky) that they will only play
part of it and skip to the next song. It appears that
this is the only song it does it to. I have tried
updating the ipods and itunes. The song plays fine in
itunes on the computer. Is there anything I can do?
Is there any support contact available?

This is the exact same thing that is happening to me, on BOTH of my iPods, on the same songs.
Did you find a solution? I have not found one yet. I am going to try a completely reformat the iPods, but not sure that will work.
I think it's an iTunes issue.

ITunes is playing only part of a song. Why?

About two and a half years ago I discovered a fan site for my favorite band that allowed other fans to download (for free!) bootleg recordings of the band's concerts. I've played the files a zillion times with no problems. Recently, I discovered that at least two of these files are not playing correctly in iTunes. iTunes will play only a portion of the song before it abruptly switches to the next song in the list.
For example, one of the songs is 8:28, but iTunes will only play the first 1:38 before it switches to the next song. Even more curious, if I allow the first 1:37 to play and then force iTunes to pick the song up again at 1:41 by dragging the cursor on the horizontal line indicating song progression (in the small window that also lists song title/album name/artist), iTunes will begin to play the first 1:38 again (although the horizontal line indicating progression shows that you are 1:41+ seconds into the song).
I cannot replace these files because the site where I found them has been taken down. Does anyone have any idea how to fix this problem? Thanks!
By the way, I am running iTunes version 8.0.2

I should add that I downloaded 34 tracks (including the two affected files) from the fan site on 6.2.2006 and 6.3.2006. After looking at the 'Date Added' column, 6 songs (including the two affected tracks) are listed as having been added on 4.3.2007 and 1 song is listed as having been added on 11.18.2006. In fact, those songs would have been downloaded on the same days as all the other files--6.2.2006 and 6.3.2006.

ITunes syncing only part of the song to this particular iPod?

I'm trying to sync a long mp3 (approx 16 megs and 34 minutes in length) to my iPod video, but iTunes only syncs about 7 minutes of the recording, then repeats that same seven minutes over and over again until it reaches the length of the original mp3. I've tried resyncing the piece, rebooting my iPod, and changing the mp3 so it reloads it to the iPod differently and nothing works. The mp3 plays fine in iTunes and on my iPod Touch, but I really need it on my older iPod, too. I'm using iTunes 9.0.1.8 and the iPod has the most up-to-date firmware that I know of for it loaded on it. Any help would be appreciated.

when you play the song on the ipod, have you tried using the jump to option to jump past the point where the song starts repeating?
Have you tried converting the file into another format? ie right click on song in itunes, chose convert to ACC.
have you tried restoring the ipod? warning this dose delete every thing off the ipod.

I bought music and when I listened to it, only part of the song was there.

I bought music with the gift card I got for Christmas and downloaded some songs off of iTunes

Try:

How can I play only part of a song (stop the song short) during a slideshow in iphoto and fade into the next song?

It's difficult to compare these apps. They have differences in capability - some are driven off templates. some aren't. Some have a wider variety of transitions. Others will have excellent audio controls. It's worth checking them out to see what meets your needs. However, there is no doubt that Final Cut Express is the most capable app of them all. If your country's iTunes Store allows you to redownload purchased tracks, I'd delete your current copy of the track and try redownloading a fresh one. See the following document for instructions:

ITunes is only playing only part of some songs

Some of these are purchased. Some aren't I can't figure out why. Yes I have itunes match.

I finally found all of the "database files" and deleted them. Then rebuilt the database, and almost all is well.
Problem that remains is that I also imported all of Garage Band loops as songs. ARGH.

Only parts of my songs from itunes match are downloading onto my phone. The full song plays fine on computer but not on iphone

I recently purchased Itunes match to download some of the songs from my library onto my phone. Everything downloaded fine. At least I thought, until I tried to listen to my music on my phone. I found that some of the songs that were downloaded from the itunes match are not fully there. The full song plays fine on my computer, however on my phone it will only play a part of the song and then immediately cut off and skip to the next song, while the display still says the other song should be playing. I tried turning off the itunes match and just re-synching the music from my computer itunes library to my phone but still encounerted the same problem. Is there an easier way of fixing this, or do I have to basically restore my whole phone?

Did you let the scan in iTunes finish before you enabled the service on the iPhone? If not you need to. Disable iTM on the iPhone, then launch the Music app and let the content clear out. Once the scan is complete in iTunes re-enable iTM on the iPhone.

When unlocking an iPhone while a song is playing in iOS 7, the player skips to a different part of the song, has anyone else experienced this problem?

If I am playing a song in iOS 7 while the phone is locked, unlocking the phone seems to cause the Music app to skip to a different part of the song. It seems to be a random placement, sometimes ahead; sometimes back; sometimes very close to where it was, but rarely a continuous feed. Anyone have a clue what might be happening? Shake to Shuffle is off, only the Home Button has been touched. I also noticed that the display on the lock screen may be indicating where the playback will go once the phone is unlocked. Thanks for your help!

In reading other threads, I found a few that recommend a hard reset to solve the issue. I have tried it, and thus far haven't expereienced the problem again. Hopefully that's it then

The old "part of the song can't be played" message

Okay... so I bought an MBP for recording on Pro Tools and Garage Band.
There are two unusual trends/problems that have occured since my purchase on Garage Band that I'm hoping someone can explain and maybe help me out with.
First off, when I first start playing a song in GarageBand, I ALWAYS get the "part of the song can't be played because you too many tracks... etc." message. For some reason, I have to do a couple of minor tasks in GarageBand, then just start my song, hit okay on that message prompt, start again, about 5 times, then I usually don't see it for awhile.
Why does this happen? Is there anything that I can do to help this (besides the Optimizing Performance steps because I read and have done all of those.
Second, I just finished a song, and it had a ton of tracks (probably about 20), and so I locked them all up, and tried to listen to my song... it will not play back. That stinkin' message just keeps coming up. I have iStat Pro on my Dashboard... I hit play on my song, and then go to my iStat and monitor my CPU and RAM, all is good... but the song won't play. I have something like 1.9 GB of RAM left and my CPU is only at 40% or so... but within 20 seconds the song will not play and I get that message.
Why is this happening? What am I doing wrong? Is there another part of my computer that is being used to the max that the song cannot be played back?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Try deleting the problematic file (electing to remove original file if/when prompted) and then re-downloading the file from the iTunes store.
You can re-download content purchased from the iTunes store (availability varies depending on location) using the purchased option from the Quick Links section in the top right corner of the iTunes homepage in your iTunes application on your computer.
You can re-download content purchased from the iTunes store (availability varies depending on location) using the purchased option at the bottom of the screen of the iTunes app (or video app) on your iOS device.
If the problem re-occurs, select the content which is causing a problem and use the 'Report a problem' button in Your Purchase History using your computer.

Depending upon what country that you are in (music can't be re-downloaded in all countries) then try deleting that track from your iTunes library and redownload it via the Purchased link under Quicklinks on the right-hand side of the iTunes store home page on your computer's iTunes
