I can't believe i actually installed this playsforsure firmware upgrade!
!!! First of all, it almost completely renders the Creative Media Source application dysfunctional even with version 3 and the associated plugin installed; secondly i can't see where it works any better for the Windows Media Player 0 for which it's intended. I find it absolutely ABSURD that Creative would even allow a firmware "upgrade" that basically cripples their own software and device interface as this one does!
I now read further down the download page where insult is added to injury as i learn that the firmware is not revertable to a previous version. After the wonderful Microsoft Playsforsure firmware upgrade to my 40GB Zen Extra I can now look forward to a 2+minute wait EACH and EVERY time want to manage my Zen Extra in either Windows Media Player or Creative Media Source application. Furthermore, during this 2+ minute wait my machine will not respond to any commands until the Zen Xtra is finished loading. Finally, once the player has taken it's time loading into my media application of choice I am now confronted with a totally UNMANAGALBE file format that Jumbles Filename, Artist, Album, and Track information into one inefficient list. Please Help!
Well, yeah, with your MicroPhoto we're talking for 8GB max, that can translate to no more that what... 3200 files at best?
However the Xta has 60GB, imagine the device trying to read the metadata for about 24.000 files... can you imagine where those 2+ minutes come from?
And no, the only reason MTP even exists is to facilitate on-line music services, otherwise there isn't a single thing that the MTP protocol can do that UMS can't (with the correct firmware design that is...) plus, the afore mentioned metadata take up space themselves thus seriously decreasing the available space for songs. It may not be that noticeable for 8GB but you can be ****ed sure that it will be for 60GB...
Anyway, let's juts hope that Creative will release YET nother firmware, either correcting the former's inability OR better yet, enabling roll back to fw version ...

Ipod 6th generation plays for about 20 sec then pauses by itself...ideas?
I have a 6th generation ipod nano. I plug it in via headphone jack, select a song, and it plays for 20 sec or so, then automatically pauses. Have tried different songs and have tried going to settings and resetting settings. Have also tried holding the power button and shutting down, then restarting. Upon restarting, I do not get the normal apple logo, it just goes back to the song that was paused. When I hit play, it plays for another 20 sec or so then pauses again. Any ideas?
This is usually an indication that your iPod's headphones are not plugged all the way in. The white part of the headset should be flush with the body of the Nano and no silver from the plug should still be seen.

So the big question here is how on earth do i reset my profiles on Game Center so that I can play my own games. I tried the thing where you swipe and choose remove uninstalled the game no matter what it came back up with the other persons game, instead of letting me start my own game. I even made a new Apple ID and it did it too.
Sounds like you are logged in with this persons ID still. Go to Settings>iCloud does this persons Apple ID appear here? If so select it and Sign-Out. Remember to do the same when you've finished and tell them what you've done so they have no issues.

Why such sorry sound quality on iTunes? On some of my purchases the sound level is suppressed on the audio. On others the volume is so low that if I have it set for another song and a new one starts I have to increase the volume to hear it.
There is so much distortion on some of the music I have to play it with QuickTime to get a "clean" track.
What can be done to get a consistent volume level or is this another typical Apple product that you have to take what you get and be happy because it's not a Microsoft product?If that's the best you can do why don't you get on another forum?

No. There is no version of Word included with a Mac purchase. Pages is free for Macs purchased after October 1, 2013. Having said that after trying to use it for over a year, I gave up and went with Open Office. Another free alternative that is very powerful and closer to Word in features is http://www.libreoffice.org

Hello, my engineer (Japanese) is trying to start AdobeMediaServer but he got stuck after getting "Waiting for another script to finish..." message. Any idea how to resolve this situation?

And suddenly it stood there on the table, a shining (it was shining back there) new "hp pavillion entertainment pc" with its smell of fresh plastic mixed hwith the strong smell from the cardboardbox, remember it as if it were yesterday
... Since then.... I have today a good solid pc knowing! (at more advance level cmd,bott menu, recovery, blah, blah... NERD!) here at the last awhile, ive prommised to make a lot! A lot of video projects!
(okay 2, but some big ones!) avchd multilayer 2 hours!!!!
So the poor hp laptop -dual core i2 4gb ram, has been begged to it knees! And simply cant handle it of course! and it have just trough time benn loaded with lots of crap, and is extremly noisy, heat, slow, anoying = unusable!
SO hwat i need is...

A computer setup that will EASILY! could handle stuff like that (avchd, multilayer, 2 hours project) -and simmilar. A total power machine! But Im tired of windows! And ugly cheap looking design! The times have changed and i change with them!

the MacPro is the muscle machine and not constrained by power or cooling limitations like the MacBoo Pro is.
OR AT LEAST BE MORE THAN ENOUGH FOR REALLY HEAVY STUFF?
If you press the MacBook Pro like a desktop machine, it will blow fans like a hurricane but will do the job eventually.
The longer you blow fans on a laptop, the sooner it clogs up with crippling dust and shortens the life of the machine.
You'll need the top end 15" or better, not the 13" as it has no dedicated graphics, only CPU graphics.
Preferably if you just now getting into video, you should be considering Avid on a Windows 7 tower, it's because Apple has been ignoring the MacPro for hardware updates to improve it and it seems like they don't want to carry it anymore. Also the last Final Cut Pro version had Hollywood up in arms as Apple removed a lot of required abilities to make it more "consumer friendly" which upset the Pro market who likes control.
Apple is focusing on the consumer computing market and getting away from the "Pro" market which needs the heavier hardware to handle video needs. They stopped selling the X-RAID and the X-Server, so Apple really isn't a "computer" company any longer.
Sure you can use a MacBook Pro and a external monitor for doing home movies and such occasionally, but if your into serious production you need to consdier other options now.
There is nothing wrong in getting a MacBook Air and a Windows 7 professional video tower too. -
I'm trying to create a new ichat Acc because for some reason the old one is not working, so I go to Create an Apple ID and start creating a new apple ID, when I submit the Acc it tells me that my Email address is already verified for another Apple ID and thats the only email address I have... What can I do?
There is no way to consolidate iTunes accounts.
Setting up an iPhone has never required creation of a new Apple ID.
You've apparently purchased content with both Apple ID's. Sign into the device with the correct Apple ID and sync the content. -
cant update apps on my mac or iphone4. asks for password for another account i had on a dell notebook. either i forgot the pass word or its not taking it . i can download apps and music. how can i update apps on my mac and iphone 4?
I had the same problem today and was able to resolve it without having to do a restore or reset. The problem had something to do with my mail accounts. The upgrade reset my mail settings, switching both my gmail and my .mac mail to "archive all mail". I went into the General Settings, disabled that setting, and resynced the phone. The "other" storage allottment dropped back down to less than a gig.
Before you restore or reset, I would try that first. -
I am getting the following error during the play of a rented movie from my MacBook that i am trying to watch on AppleTV Could not play the rental “A Thousand Words” because it is authorized to play on another computer or device." any ideas?
Rentals can only play on one device/computer at a time. Have you tried to play on the computer and still have that window open?
Have you transferred the rental to iPod/iPhone or iPad to watch?

The title says it all. I returned a macbook that was authorized and got a macbook air instead. iTunes will not let me deauthorize all of my computers for another 10 months. So what am I supposed to do?

In Itunes store, song preview plays for only 5-10 seconds and then stops. Songs in my Itunes library play entirely from start to finish.
My Itunes previews have been playing fully now for the past few days. After trying every suggestion possible to fix the problem of 5-10 second previews, I took the advice on one feed to use OpenDNS for your network internet connection. There are internet sites that will instruct you how to do it. Just Google "opendns for (your operating system)". I have Windows XP and followed a video instruction at www.top-windows-tutorals.com/using-opendns.html. Afterward, close your browser and then flush the DNS Resolver cache; Start/Run, type CMD in the open field, click OK, in resulting window type ipconfig/flushdns, press return on keyboard. No guarantees, but my browser is faster and my Itunes previews are playing fully so far. But I still shudder every time I hit the preview button.

MS Word Starter 2010 continually asks for product key yet keeps closing.
When I try to open the free pre-installed MS Word Starter on my PC I am prompted to enter my 25 character product key. After doing this a I receive ‘Your product key is valid’ on pressing the ‘Continue’ button MS starter opens yet three seconds later the
same box appears prompting me to enter my product key again. On entering the product key again I receive a further confirmation my key is valid. On pressing ‘Continue’ the box closes yet so does MS Starter 2010.
It used to work when the PC was new.
I have run ‘Repair’ MS Starter and ‘Repair’ MS Office 2010
The same happens with MS Exel starter.
I use MS Word 2010 day to day which works fine.

No I probably did not uninstall it from the old computer and that machine
was scrapped some years back.
Just to recap, I use Word 2010 and Excel 2010 every day and they work OK.
As I understand it these programmes, Excel & Word 2010, is what I got from
downloading the MS Student & Teachers discs?
So in my limited understanding, as they both work OK, I don't appear to have
a problem with the license being used twice. Do I understand that
correctly?
My problem is that on the rare occasions I decide to dip into the MS
Starter Programmes, a window appears asking for a product key. When I enter the
key for the MS Student and Teachers disc it says its valid, Word Starter opens,
the box asking for the product key appears again and when entered both windows
close. I don't quite understand why It asks for a product key for something
factory pre-loaded?
