Playstation 3 nat problems fix BT hub

The problem is with online gaming on the ps3 where the nat is set to "moderate" rather than "open".
First access you hub settings by typing in 192.168.1.254 then settings/advanced settings/application sharing now with your ps3 turned on select playstation 3 from the game/application menu select it and also select its address from the device menu...apply.
Now the next bit is up to you as I'm no internet security expert but it seems to keep the nat in "open" state.... from application sharing under advanced settings select firewall and disable it then apply.
Now go back to the most overrated game in history...black ops and your nat should be open - this seems to work for most.

Your connection is Openreach Modem -> BT Home Hub 5 -> iMAC.
After a bit of reading - http://www.broadbandchoices.co.uk/guides/hardware/bt-home-hub
Openreach Modem - Optical Network Terminal (ONT).
HH5 - is a 4-port Ethernet Router/Switch
It looks like BT may be locking the MAC addresses of the modem and hh5 with access control lists, so customers cannot connect a device to replace the HH5.
You have an option. Connect one of the HH5 LAN ports to the WAN port of the Airport.
Set the Airport to Bridge mode, no DHCP address distribution, Create a Wireless Network.
You can just ignore  the HH5 SSID(s) completely and just connect to the ones you create on the Extreme. The iMac can connect to any LAN port on the Extreme or one of the remaining HH5 LAN ports.
The only challenge you may have is, if the number of IP addresses the HH5 can allocate is limited to 4 (by BT's configuration). It can be verified using more than four (4) devices.
If this works, then there are alternatives where a new LAN within a LAN can be created if the IP address limitation becomes an issue.

  • Azureus Nat problem

    Hey
I am running a 17 inch imac and experiencing some trouble with my bittorrent client Azureus.
I simply never get the green smiley face. I read the wipi-help from Azureus and confirmed by using their instructions that I do have a NAT problem. I have no firewall running. I did continue reading the explanation in the Wiki but it seems to be PC oriented. Can anybody give me some good info to fix this problem?
By the way will my downloads be faster when I do use a correctly configured NAT?
    Samuel
PS I am not using a router just a ADSL Modem

I had the same problem but turned off my firewall, opened the port 59981, turned my firewall back on & it worked straightaway, my d/l speed shot up frpom 20kb to 280kb. My only problem now is that when I am running azereus my internet connection sometimes drops and the only way round it seems to be turning off my mac & cable modem and rebooting. I'm on Telewest Blueyonder cable with a webstar cable modem and it only happens when I'm using Azereus.
    Very frustrating!!

  • Open NAT problems with Xbox One .

When I first got my 1900ac I used Media Priortization to get an open NAT for Call of Duty Advanced Warfare on my Xbox One ; prioritizing the Xbox . It worked fine for about 6 months until I changed cable/net provider to Nextech in Ks. This company uses the 1900ac to hook up it's system for all it's customers ( since I already had one they're using mine ). Unfortunately I'm unable to get an open NAT in this game anymore ; I've tried just about everything , NAT forwarding , triggering , Media Prioritization . Nextech support & Xbox Live support , useless . Tried Portforward . com , nothing . Forwarding port 53 cuts off net connection & doing the static ip change for Xbox didn't help . Almost everything I've looked at seems out of date & I'm at my wits end . It would seem by now Linksys should have solutions available , any ideas ?

Thank you chin_pamz13 for your response . I tried to check if my modem had a public or private ip address but I'm not sure how to do that ; I've read about double NAT's elsewhere . Regardless , I think I've finally found a solution that seems to be working so far . I went to the website " tech - recipes . com " & found an article , " Xbox One open NAT " by Aaron St. Clair . I tried his first suggestion about port triggering , with extra ports I had'nt seen before . That did not work for me so I followed his instructions for putting the Xbox in the DMZ & it's working ! I think my problems from before were the result of improperly setting up the static ip address for my router & Xbox . Previous instructions had me changing the ip in the console along with the router ; Aaron said not to do so in the Xbox , let the router do the work it's supposed to do & make sure the settings in the console are on automatic . In the router at the DMZ , I was'nt sure how to proceed , but at the bottom is a section labeled DHCP reservations list ; clicked on that , saw XboxOne , clicked on that & it filled out the MAC address above for me . Then I went to the Xbox network settings , advanced settings & clicked " automatic " at ip address , subnet & DNS . I checked mutiplayer connections & did the " hold bumper & trigger buttons " trick & finally got an open NAT ; fired up CoD Advanced Warfare & got the open NAT there also . I may have screwed up when I did the port triggering but since the DMZ fix seems to work I'm going to leave things alone . Hope this helps others with open NAT problems .

  • WRT120N Xbox Nat Problems Again

Yes, somebody else is posting about getting that stupid NAT open on Xbox Live.  If any of the solutions posted so far helped I wouldn't be the 1987th person asking.
This is my third router I've used with my xbox over the years.  This is not my first rodeo with this problem.  I know about the port forwarding, mtu, static IPs, firmware updating, etc.  I've done it all several times over.  Normally I'd be the one helping somebody else get this problem fixed for them.  But for some reason, with this WRT120N router, I've sat here for 8 hours pulling my hair out trying to get this thing working.  No matter what I do this NAT won't open.  I'm out of ideas and looking for more, please.

Try to reflash the same firmware on your router...reser the router for 30 seconds and reconfigure it from the scratch...
As your Internet Service Providor is Cable follow this link to reconfigure the router.
For the X-Box, try this :
Open an Internet Explorer browser page on your wired computer(desktop). In the address bar type - 192.168.1.1 and press Enter...Leave Username blank & in Password use admin in lower case...
On the set-up tab change the MTU Size to 1365 and click Save Settings...
Click on "Administration" tab and disable the option UPnP and click Save Settings...
Click on "Applications and Gaming" tab and then click on "Port Range Forwarding" subtab...
    1) On the first line in Application box type in ABC, in the start box type in 53 and End box type in 3074, leave the protocol as both and under ip address type in 192.168.1.20 and check the enable box, click Save Settings once done...
    2) Once you return to the set up page click on the Security tab and uncheck Block Anonymous Internet Requests and click on Save Settings...
3)Click on the Status tab and take note of DNS1 and DNS2 Addresses...
    4) Goto the XBox Network Settings and IP Address Settings and select manual IP Settings and assign the following on your Xbox
    IP Address :- 192.168.1.20, Subnet Mask :- 255.255.255.0, Default Gateway :- 192.168.1.1...
    5) Also assign the DNS Addresses on the Xbox
Use DNS1 and DNS2 Addresses you took note off of the router status tab as Primary DNS & Secondary DNS for the xbox...
    6) Turn off your modem, router, and Xbox...Wait for a minute...
    7) Plug the modem power first, wait for another minute and plug the router power cable, wait another minute and turn on the Xbox and test it...it will connect...

  • Does  Mavericks have the problem fixed with working with the Dell UltraSharp U3014 30 inch monitor?

Does  Mavericks have the problem fixed with working with the Dell UltraSharp U3014 30 inch monitor?

I have this (or a similar) issue and I did notice something interesting. After I boot into Windows via Bootcamp (where I have the U3014 specfic driver installed) and then reboot into MacOS X (Mavericks) the monitor works flawlessly.
I would hazard a guess that this means bootcamp is retaining the driver used in Windows. Kind of the reverse of the TB GBE adapter driver issue.
To explain my issue for anyone else: the monitor flicks on and off as if the connection was poor. Connecting via HDMI. Connection is fine and as stated, everything works fine in Bootcamp.

  • Xbox360 WRT54GS ver. 6 NAT problems

my xbox 360's NAT is set to strict and prevens me from connecting with a lot of otehr players and my wireless router is a WRT54GS ver. 6

for xbox 360 having NAT problem... you need to call Xbox to ask for the port numbers to open...now if your isp is dsl then call them up and set the modem to bridge to set the rtr to pppoe...in this way we will be able eliminate the multiple NAT issues and for your xbox to work...

  • Route or NAT problem?

    Hi Everyone,
We have an ASA 5540 at our data center, with ASA 5505's at most remote sites.
At the sites without layer 3 switches behind the ASA 5505's, we can't reach the data center internal network through the ASA for flow-export, etc.
So, what I'm basically saying is, even though the tunnel is up and everything behind the branch ASA can reach the data center networks fine, the ASA itself cannot reach hosts on the data center network.
I'm hoping to configure these ASA 5505's so I can do flow export and SNMP logging from them, but without this routing or nat problem resolved, they just won't do it.
Doing a packet tracer from the ASA 5505 to the data center server I'm most focused on, reveals this:

I configure dynamic nat for internet its work. In LAN switch has 4 VLAN one server VLAN ip add 10.88.61.0/24.
Now i map a public ip 37.10.1.3 for server 10.88.61.10 from outside internet its work. But when i try to ping server public ip 37.10.1.3 from LAN its not ping but server local ip 10.88.61.10 ping from LAN.

  • Jumpy scrowl control with mouse.Only with Firefox, not Internet explorer. Problem fixed when I updated to 6. 0.2 but problems returned after about a week.. 0.2

Jumpy scroll wheel control with mouse. Only with Firefox, not Internet explorer.Even pushing the scroll wheel and trying to adjust for a smooth easy scroll the text stops and starts. Problem fixed itself when I updated to 6. 0.2 from an older version but the problem returned after about a week.. The problems go away when I go to web site and scroll but is back when I return to my home page (mozilla firefox)

Good post, and glad to hear you had a solid transition. Mine went well too, though I think I beat the rush.
It's worth noting that the vast and overwhelming majority of headaches people were experiencing were related to download and activation servers (as well as credit check servers for some mobile carriers) being crushed and overwhelmed.
To give you an idea of just how crushed, here are some numbers. In the last year, something in the neighborhood of 8 million iPhones have been sold. That's just shy of 22,000 per day. So the typical traffic is around 22,000 times a day, someone is hitting the server for update/activation.
This weekend, Apple sold 1 million iPhones. In other words, 333,333 phones per day. Holy crap!
As if that wasn't enough, there are 8 million of us out there with the first generation iPhone. Not only do we need to download the new firmware, but we have to install it. The installation process requires hitting the activation server again, to validate the phone. Mind you, not everybody upgraded this weekend, but a few million did. For the sake of argument, we'll assume that's 1 million a day. So, instead of the normall traffic of 22K phones a day, those activation servers got SLAMMED with 1.33 million activations per day.
It ***** that some people had delays and hiccups and a hard time and everything, but completely understandable. With luck things will run more smoothly from here on out.

  • Nokia 6700 USB cable connectivity problem -fixed-

Ok, got my 6700 today. Everything worked like a charm, until I tried to connect it to my PC using the supplied USB cable. I downloaded and installed the latest Nokia PC suite which supports this phone (7.1.30.9) and connected the phone. Vista was unable to install a driver, and the phone was listed in the device manager as 'unknown usb device'. The phone display reported 'no response from host' after plugging in the usb cable.
I searched online for a solution, and tried the following:
    - repaired the install of the Nokia connectivity cable driver: no success.
    - deinstalled the nokia pc suite, ran the pc suite cleaner, rebooted and reinstalled the pc suite: no success.
    - threw away the unknown usb device in the device manager and plugged the cable back in so that Vista would try to install the driver again: no success.
    - tried other USB slots (not behind HUB): no success.
At this point I was so frustrated that I decided to take out the supplied 1gb micro sd card and transfer some data to it using a card reader. When I looked in the root of the sd card, I noticed that there was an executable called pc-suite.exe there, among some other files. I decided to delete those files to see if they were causing the problems, I deleted the following files:
    - autorun.inf
    - launcher.exe
    - pc-suite.exe
    - qf
Replaced the micro sd card in the phone, plugged in the usb cable and voila: connection! Everything worked like a charm.
During my online search I noticed I wasn't the only one experiencing connectivity problems with the 6700. Maybe this fix will help other people as well, that's why I decided to post it here. ;-)
    Peter

Thanks Peter, nice job - same problem, your solution is working. Shame on Nokia - i have so many problems with E52, and now with 6700 - why ? Is it so difficult to make a reliable software ? So disappointed ... maybe Apple is the solution - but after 10 years with Nokia why change with Apple ?

  • Problem with usb hub 3.0 to connect printer and hd

    Hello,
I have problems with using a usb 3.0 hub to connect a HD and a printer to my Time Capsule. HD is found and works properly. Printer is visible in programms but doesnot work.
    How to fix this.
    Ciao Pieter

OK, plug the hub back in with the printer.. delete the current setup on the computer and try reinstalling it.
But it tells you something if the printer is not recognised..
Why don't you just share it from the computer.. USB printer are not supposed to be plugged into a network device. They are designed as local printers.
