Playstation 4

Hi,
My wireless headset keeps disconnecting on my ps4. As far as ive done research, it seems that a lot of people have this problem. A popup window in the corner keeps showing while playing games, etc. Should I trade in my ps4 for a new one or is there a fix?
Must be something with the usb port not receiving enough power? Tried both ports in front.
Please advise

  • WRT310N Playstation 3 Slow Download speed and general lag

Hey guys, I just recently bought the WRT310N and got both of my computers working with it. One is wired directly into the router, while the other is running off wireless. My Playstation 3 is able to connect to the router but I am getting an extremely slow connection speed.
Right now, both PC's get about 6.4-6.5 Mbps download speed while my Playstation is anywhere from 600 Kbs to 1.2 Mbps. I have plugged in my Playstation 3 directly into the modem and got a speed of 3.2 Mbps and was downloaded a demo very fast, but I do not recieve anywhere near those results when using it wireless.
Any advice? I have tried opening the ports, but that only seemed to slow it down. A couple of days ago I opened the ports specific to the game NHL 10 and for two days I was getting such a good speed in the game that it felt like I was playing offline, which was great! Then this morning, it just seemed do a complete 180. Now when I play the game I get an extreme amount of lag, and my other games like CoD4 get random lag spikes. Like, I'll be running and I get a lag spike which seems to happen fairly consistently every minute or so.
Any advice? Should I try opening the ports again or what?

I think you need to adjust the wireless settings of your Router, The wireless settings on your Router must have been setup to its default that's the reason you are receiving low signal strength on your PS3.
Open an Internet Explorer browser page on your wired computer(desktop). In the address bar type - 192.168.1.1 and press Enter...Leave Username blank & in Password use admin in lower case...
For Wireless Settings, please do the following : -
    Click on the Wireless tab
    - Here select manual configuration...Wireless Network mode should be mixed...
    - Provide a unique name in the Wireless Network Name (SSID) box in order to differentiate your network from your neighbours network...
    - Set the Radio Band to Standard-20MHz and change the Standard channel to 11-2.462GHz...Wireless SSID broadcast should be Enabled and then click on Save Settings...
Please make a note of Wireless Network Name (SSID) as this is the Network Identifier...
    For Wireless Security : -
Click on the Sub tab under Wireless > Wireless Security...
Change the Wireless security mode to WPA, For Encryption, select TKIP...For Passphrase input your desired WPA Key. For example , MySecretKey , This will serve as your network key whenever you connect to your wireless network. Do NOT give this key to anyone and remember the key.
NOTE : Passphrase should be more that 8 characters...
    Click on Advanced Wireless Settings
Change the Beacon Interval to 75 >>Change the Fragmentation Threshold to 2304, Change the RTS Threshold to 2304 >>Click on "Save Settings"...
Now see if you can locate your Wireless Network and attempt to connect...

  • How can I hook up my Playstation 2 to my emac

I was wondering If I can use the apple video adapter to connect my playstation 2 to my emac. I kno for a fact that you can connect your TV via the video adapter but I'd like to know if I can also do this with my ps2.
    eMac PowerMac 6, 4   Mac OS X (10.4.5)

Followup: The eMac's video port is output only. It's possible to get TV video into an eMac through the Firewire port. Some TV adapters use USB 2.0 instead. TV tuner/adapters include devices like Elgato EyeTV. Note: I have no knowledge of how well such devices work for real-time game console use. Search at the Discussions home page for actual user experiences with devices such as EyeTV.

  • Apple BT keyboard & mouse won't pair with PlayStation 3.

I have an Apple Bluetooth keyboard and mouse (mouse is the older single-button BT model). Neither one will pair with the PS3, with new BT keyboard/mouse support via 1.6 firmware update. When I go to register BT mouse/keyboard it sees them fine, sees their BT names, but then gets an error when trying to pair, on each device.
Normally I wouldn't post this in an Apple forum, but since they are Apple devices and they pair just fine with Windows PCs, I'm wondering if there's some way I need to force pairing mode or something to get this to work.
Any ideas offhand how to fix this?
Anyone with a PlayStation 3 gets this working with Apple keyboard/mouse, please post how you did it. I don't want to buy a separate BT keyboard and mouse kit for the PS3 when I already have these in great condition, seeing little use.

Sorry I missed this and didn't respond. If you can afford both, keep both. Even at this early stage, my preference overall, especially for the long term, is by quite some bit, the PS3 and it's games, many now and lots more in the coming year. Also, I think Blu-ray will eventually "win" the HD movie format battle, meaning some studios besides Sony Pictures may drop Blu-ray exclusive releases and release on both formats, and Universal will step off HD DVD exclusive releases and release on both formats, but Blu-ray eventually be the only format on which you can get everything. But for the short-term future you will have more game variety for your 360, so you might want to wait and save for the PS3, or trade at a later date if you can still get good value out of the trade.
Since this reply is ex post facto, it seems like the PS3 blew out the European and Australian launches. Quite a bit different than console's initial reception here in the States.

  • I have a Motorola SB6141 modem that is connected to a time capsule. I am unable to connect to the internet on my laptop and playstation 3

Ive just switched to a "Motorola SURFboard eXtreme Cable Modem" which is connected to a time capsule.
I am unable to connect to my internet via. wifi on my Playstation.
I have already tried many different attempts to connect to the internet. I have tried to directly connect to the internet using an ethernet cable as well as restarting my mac laptop and playstation. I am only able to connect to the internet on my main computer.
    Please help?
I tried being the most descriptive I could

I am only able to connect to the internet on my main computer.
What IP does your main computer get.. ?? Post a screenshot if you can as it helps to see the details.
When you open the airport utility on the main computer.. click on the TC what errors does it show?
They will list in the summary.
What mode is the TC in? If the setup went wrong it might be bridged when it should be in router mode..
Remember any time to change things around with cable modems you MUST shut down the modem as well.. it cannot change the MAC address of the first item easily so need to be off.. a few minutes at least.. sometimes up to 20min or longer. Make sure the TC captures the public IP on the wan interface.. which is the only way this will work with a pure modem.
The most recent TC can still have issues.. new AC version TC and AE have the Max amount of issues with SB6121 and 6141.. there seems to be some ethernet issue between them..
What model TC do you have??
You can slow the LAN port down or specify the actual speed in the Gen1-4.

  • Port forwarding for playstation 3

    Hi there.
Seem to be having some very frustrating problems with our Time capsule.
I'm not much good with it, technically, however I'm trying to open/move/forward/map (I've no idea!)
port: 3074 to enable a specific online game to work on my playstation.
I've not got any connection troubles between the capsule and the console, but from hat I've learnt,
I need to somehow 'forward port 3074'.
I think I know what I'm doing until after confirming everything and clicking 'update' after I've entered the port number, I'm asked to make corrections before the airport can update!
It specifically asks me to enter the 'beginning DHCP address', which i've discovered is 192.163.1.1,
however it then asks for the 'ending DHCP address', which to be honest I have no idea.
I'm really not clued up at all on any of this, I just want to play a game on my PS3!
Any help would be much appreciated.

Hi dlmatthews and welcome to the forum, i've had the same issue, you can't port forward to both, I just DMZ my PS3 and port forwarded to my another PS3 in the household.

  • Connecting MacBook to Playstation 3

Does anyone know how to connect my MacBook to my Playstation 3? Both are connected on my home wi-fi network for internet access. On the PS3 menu screen, it has an area to search for media servers. I'm assuming this so i can display photos, videos, music, etc. However, it can not locate any servers. So... how do i use my MacBook as a wireless server to stream my media to my PS3? I think it would be cool to stream my iTunes into my game room from my office via my PS3.

ok. SO i have downloaded "eyeconnect". How do I update the firmware on the PS3? Is it just thru the most recent update? in that case, check, done it. I ran the eyeconnect, and searched for media servers on my PS3 but it found nothing.
I guess I really have no idea on how to stream my media.
Goofy.....If it's not too much to ask, can you give me a step by step instruction on how to do this? oh, and I am using a "g" wireless network

  • Connecting a Playstation 3 to my iMac. Is it possible?

Hi everyone. I am new to this forum and I'm sorry If I posted this in the wrong section.
I recently bought an Apple iMac G5. I haven't used Mac before so I'm not very familiar with it. I was wandering, is there any possible way to connect a Playstation 3 to it? And if there is, would the the output be HD (higher definition) or just normal?
    Thanks in advance..
    Yani

    Apple Discussions!
"I recently bought an Apple iMac G5."
Apple has not made a G5 iMac in over 3 years. More than likely you have an Intel iMac which is a different model.
You will need to re-post over in the Intel-based iMac Forums
"I was wandering, is there any possible way to connect a Playstation 3 to it?"
Have you searched Google? I know there are many detailed instructions to connect to a G5 iMac on Google.

  • Connecting a playstation 3 to airport extreme

I'm new to the whole wireless thing so please bear with me. I have a number of questions:
Firstly, the only reason why I did go wireless was for my playstation 3 and now I am having problems connecting it the airport extreme. Everytime I go on automatic on the PS3, it does not recognize the airport extreme. What do I need to do? It's also asking me for a SSID?
Secondly, how safe is this? Heard some stories of neighbors leaching on internet connection and what not. If so, whats the best way to prevent this?
Finally, how do i open ports for port forwarding? I used to use a netgear router and all I to do was enter the router ID and then just enter the password and username.
    Thanks in advance
20' intel imac   Mac OS X (10.4.6)   60GB video ipod (black)

If you are using encryption, make sure the N is set to WPA. WEP will not work. On the PS3, set it to WPA, type in the passphrase and it should connect. I have a PS3 hooked up this way.
For your SSID, make sure the N is broadcasting the SSID and it is not "hidden from view". Many devices like seeing the SSID in the clear. I know, this is not considered the most secure way of doing this, but with strong encryption enabled and MAC filtering, you should be OK. I live in a neighborhood with a number of other wireless networks and have never had a problem with this setup.
Port forwarding is another issue. I do not remember seeing this feature in the N. My setup still uses the Netgear router and the N is plugged into it. The router does the NAT translation, error logging, firewall duties and port forwarding, the N handles everything else. My daughter still plays her online games just fine.

  • Playstation 3 not connecting to PSN

I've just moved from BT standard to Sky Fibre and since the move I cannot get my PS3 to connect to the playstation network. The main reason for upgrading was for better gaming!Anyone with any ideas?I've tried setting a static IP, changing channels and I've turned off the shield.HELP!!!!

I have a vague memory somewhere that manually changing the DNS settings on the Playstation to use Google's servers (8.8.8.8) can fix this.

  • Problems connecting iMac and iWire to Sony PlayStation 3

Hi. Simple issue. I cannot for the life of me get my Sony PS3 to connect to my iWire local network at home, which otherwise I've never had any problems with.
When I go through the (simple) setup procedure on the PlayStation, it locates my network, then asks me for my WLAN Key Settings, giving me the options of None, WEP and WPA-PSK/WPA2-PSK. I try entering my iWire password into the system as a WEP key (which I think is right), then it says it's not recognised and prompts me to put in hexadecimal settings (?). I try the same thing on the WPA option, again, it doesn't work. I've also tried putting in my Airport Express password, see if that changes anything, but it doesn't
I couldn't see a topic heading on this subject heading through a search, so forgive me if it's already been answered elsewhere. Anyway, I'm stumped, so if anyone's connected successfully, could they share how they did it and what exactly a WEP key is! [Incidentally, I posted this earlier, but I believe in the wrong section]

Thanks. My Airport Express is providing the wireless network - and on my Playstation, it comes up as Robert's Wireless Network (what I've called my AE network) and I put in what I know is the correct password for that network, but it comes up as unrecognised, even though I'm sure I've put in the correct word. So, if as you say I'm doing the right thing, then maybe I'm entering the information wrong, or need to add something to my standard WEP password?

  • Mini and Playstation sharing a monitor

    Hi
Currently we are using an old crt with our Mac Mini and an old television with our PlayStation. I would like to buy a new lcd display (2 different inputs) which could be shared with both the Mini and our PS2.
Does anyone use a setup like this? What display resolution do you recommend? What about the size, is 17" enough? Experiencies?
    Mini   Mac OS X (10.4.3)

I am using a Samsung 17" LCD TV in such an arrangement. I can't remember the model number of the Samsung, but it doesn' t matter because it is 3-years old and I am sure no longer for sale. The newer ones are better anyway, and cheaper. The display is 1280x768 which is pretty useable as a computer monitor through the VGA port. 17" is adequate for our setup but it really depends on how close you sit as to whether 17" will work for you. You'll probably want to go bigger if this is your primary TV.

  • Can I use an iMac as a display for a Wii & Playstation 3?

    Hello folks,
My GF and I are planning to buy a 24" iMac and we are planning to replace our old boxy television with the iMac.
Can someone please tell me if it's possible to connect a Wii or a Playstation to the iMac, or should I keep the old telly handy.
    Cheers

I'm not sure how easy it will be with the Wii and not sure what PS your talking about. I have done it with the Xbox 360 as it has a DVI adapter to my 24" iMac. However some people are using boxes like this one; http://www.consolesource.com/ecomm/catalog/XCM-1080p-VGA-Adapter-Xbox-360-Wii-PS 3-PSP-Slim-p-2709.html to use a Wii with monitors. Granted it will only be VGA so you will need a VGA to Mini-DVI for the iMac. This is a little pricey but will work with most systems.
There are just stand alone cables like this one; http://www.consoleshop.com/product.php?productid=20658&partner=googlebase&bid=3 so you might need to look around for adapters. It can be done though.
