PLD Document ID

I would like to display the document (PLD File ID) name on the actual PLD form. Is there a system variable or function that will allow me to do this?

Hi,
Welcome you post on the forum.
I doubt there is such system variable. You may use the Alt+Click to select all tables to find the right data under RDOC. However, this function is not under SAP support. You may need manual update whenever you upgrade your B1.
Thanks,
Gordon

  • How to print the PLD document in A5*2 paper size?

    Dear All,
I am trying to print the pld Document in A5*2 paper size. Is it possible in SAP B1 PLD?
    please help me.
    Thanks & Regards,
    Mahendra

    Hi,
i don't think it depends on the print layout designer.
when you print it you have the choice to select the printer and change the settings.
when your printer driver supports it you should be able to print it.

    Hi All,
Can anyone please let me share any of the PLD Document Configuration Templates. This is for requirement documentation. Based on this we would like to design the SBO outputs for all the marketing and other documents. Any help would be of great value.

  • PLD document is more than one page

    Hello
When a document has many lines I want the recurring area for a PLD document to stop at a certain distance from the page footer but the end of report area must remain at the same distance.
Meaning a documnet with 2 pages the recurring area always stops at the same place and restart on the second page when on the 1st page the area reserved for 'end of report' data will be empty and filed up on the second page...
What shall I changed in the format of the recurring area to have it like this?
    Thank you....

    hi DELANOE,
    Go to Administration>System Intialization>
Print Preferences-->Set Max. Rows per page(as per y'r requirement).
In PLD normally End of Report will be empty if print documents
goes more than a page,End of Report will be displayed in
    last page.
Hope above answer will help you.

  • Different contents in PLD document with multiple copies

We are using PLD for our reports for eg. to make a set of CASH SALE  document(AR invoice+payment) with 3 copies.
However, we do want the original copy not to show some of the contents in the 2nd copy and 3rd copy
as this will be given to the Customer. How do we hide these contents not to show in the customer copy but to show in other copies?
    Regards
    Asif

    Thank you for your response.
We have used the CopyNumber() function but how do we link a field so that it appears in two or more copies. For example, in AR Invoice + payment report having 4 copies, we have a transporter refno field which we would like to appear on copies 2 and 3 only. Is there any option to combine the formulae field having the copynumber() function so that it links to copy 2 and 3 only?
    Thanks

  • Add all contacts of the BP in PLD Document Marketing??

    Hi partners
I could insert in the PLD the data from the contact person for the marketing document? Not only to be affixed in the document but all those who belong to the business partner of the document?
    Greetings.

Whats the maximum number of contact person you have on a BP?
What is the field you have linked this FMS to?
You could handle this using Functions.
Create a function like this in SQL Server Management Studio
    <FONT Color = "Blue" Size = 2>
    CREATE FUNCTION dbo.ConcatContacts(@BP VARCHAR(20))
    RETURNS VARCHAR(8000)
    AS
    BEGIN
         DECLARE @Output VARCHAR(8000)
         SET @Output = ''
         SELECT @Output =     CASE @Output
                        WHEN '' THEN [Name\]
                        ELSE @Output + ', ' + [Name\]
                        END
         FROM  OCPR
        WHERE CardCode = @BP
         RETURN @Output
    END
    GO </FONT>
    Your Formatted Seach should be
    SELECT DISTINCT dbo.ConcatContacts(CardCode)
    FROM OCPR
    WHERE CardCode = $\[$4.0.0]

  • When printing a PLD in 9.0 the color background does not show

I have a PLD document (Sales Order) that I changed a field to have a "red" background which shows in my PLD document fine.  But I cannot get the color to show in my print out or in the print preview.  This issue has not been a problem for us in 8.82 but in 9.0 the same changes I make does not work.
Has anyone had similar issues with this and if so, any suggestions on how to fix?
    PLD layout
    Preview of same layout
    Thanks

    Hi,
Please compare and check both layouts. (8.82 & 9.0).

  • PLD Template

    Hi All,
In the Layout Designer window we can select different document types.
If i select Sales and Purchase Register it displays the  Sales and Purchase Register report in the template list below.
I would like to know where this  particular report is linked with the document.
    OR
How can I know which document is attached with which Report template ?

The Tables related to PLD document templates are RDOC and RITM.  When you set a PLD as default for a user or BP, then entried are created in RDFL tables.  You can also check RTYP.
If I have more info I will post it.

  • Using Copy Express  in PLD

    Hi Experts,
Is it possible to transfer PLD layouts from one database to another using Copy Express.
Can any one help me to solve this issue. bcs i have created all layout in test data base now i want to transfer to production database ....ASAP pls....
    Karthi.

    Karthi,
Copy Express will surely do the job and if you want to just copy a few templates individually, you could use this SQL Script
    INSERT INTO [TARGET\].[DBO\].[RDOC\]
    SELECT [SOURCE\].[DBO\].[RDOC\].* FROM  [SOURCE\].[DBO\].[RDOC\]
    WHERE  [SOURCE\].[DBO\].[RDOC\].DOCCODE = 'CHO*****'
    INSERT INTO [TARGET\].[DBO\].[RITM\]
    SELECT [SOURCE\].[DBO\].[RITM\].*
    FROM [SOURCE\].[DBO\].[RITM\]
    WHERE [SOURCE\].[DBO\].[RITM\].DOCCODE = 'CHO*****' AND [SOURCE\].[DBO\].[RITM\].DOCCODE
    IN (SELECT DOCCODE FROM [TARGET\].[DBO\].[RDOC\])
I DocCode example shown above is of the Check PLD template
You can get the DocCode from the PLd Document Properties window

  • Document printing - differrent layout

    Hi,
We have developed in PLD an Invoice and a Quotation.
    1. Invoice - in PLD Document Properties, the Format is A5.
    2. Quotation - in PLD Document Properties, the Format is A4.
In SAP screen, File--> Page Set up, the page is A4.
When we print the Invoice, SAP is printing out in A4 format. We have
refer to note 1030589, and thought that it is the PLD should have
    overwritten the default Page setting.
Could you please advise how we could print different format in SAP? Is
    this a design restriction?

    Hi,
Just got a reply from SAP support, in case anyone is interested.
    (Question raised)
If I understand you correctly, does that mean:
    - although I have set different paper size on Print Layout designer, SAP
will ignore it. The page format in Print Layout does not take effect.
    - Every time when I need to print A4, I need to go to Page Set up to make
sure A4 is selected. When I need to print document in A5, I need to go to
Page set up to make sure A5 is selected.
    (Answer from Support)
Yes, for the paper format the settings are to be done in this way.
As the system will always take the paper size which has been set as
    default for the printer.

    Prachi,
Is the quote document that you are printing a PLD document?  If so, check the field in the PLD to make sure that it is being pulled from the quote table and NOT the BP customer table.

  • How to print PLD report on A3 & A2 size papers

    Hi,
I want to print the PLD Report on A3 size paper.
In Tally, already this Report is printed as "Sstd Fanfold" paper.
i selected the same paper type in SAP b1.
but it is not displaying properly.
    normal A4Traversal it is showing.
    plz help me asap.
    Regards,
    Nagababu

    Hi Nagababu,
If you want to set the PLD Report to Print on a different (A3) size paper, Couple of things you may need to check.
The printer where you intend to print on A3 should be set as the printer in the PLD document properties.  From the design mode of PLD, click on <b>Print layout designer on the top menu</b> and Click <b>Display Document Properties</b>
Go to Paper format Tab > Select the Printer which you want
Doing this will expose the different Paper formats available on this Printer.
Now, for the Paper format drop down select the A3 / whichever Paper format you want.

  • Printer Selection using the PLD

My current customer is automatically printing a Sales Order to the user's default printer when the Add button is pressed in Sales Order Entry.  This works well, but my latest challenge is depending upon the time of day ( that is, morning vs afternoon, by a User Defined Field set at Order entry time) to print the Order on a different printer, which is actually a different color of paper that resides in a different tray in the printer.
Is there a way to have Print Layout Designer direct the Sales Order to the desired tray in the printer  from the value in the User Defined field  with out having the person entering the Sales Order select a printer?
I hope this makes sense and thanks in advance.
    Dana

    Hi,
Cannot confirm whether your issue is same or not but
In 2005A you can check :
If your different trays have different colour paper :
    - Via Windows, define each Tray as a different printer (i.e. PRT1yellow; PRT1red; PRT1green)
    - Via PLD   > Document Properties   > Paper Format   > Printer section select the desired tray (i.e. PRT1green) and click OK.

  • Copy express add on  sap 8.8 -PLD coping problem

    Dear Experts
While coping the PLD  from one database to another by using copy express ( sap 8.8 PL 00 ) only the empty layout (without any field) was creating. Pleas give the solution.
    Thanks

    Hi Ganesh,
    Try this,
Here is a simple way to copy PLD from one Company to another Company
Please follow these steps to copy PLD from one DB(Test DB) to another DB(Live DB)
    1. Login to the Test DB and open the PLD. Click on menu 'Print Layout Designer' and select 'Display Hidden Fields'
    2. Goto Edit Menu and select 'Select All'
    3. Copy All the fields (select copy from Edit Menu)
    4. Click on Administration and select Choose Company and login to the Live DB.
Note: Donot Logoff from the Test DB)
    5. Open the PLD in Live DB. Click on menu 'Print Layout Designer' and select 'Display Hidden Fields'
    6. Goto Edit Menu and select 'Select All'
    7. Delete All the fields
    8. Now Paste the fieds which you copied from 'Test DB'.
    Note:
Ensure that the Document Properties like Width, Height, Top Margin, LeftMargin etc.., are same before pasting in 'Live DB'
    OR
Pls use Export and import method of sql database .
there is a short way but it is not ideal, u can directly open the Rdoc and ritm table and copy the data related to particular PLD(document id) and paste into rdoc and ritm of new database respectively .
    Check the thread,
    Copy Express a PLD

  • Documents printing in French, need script to default to English

Hello all, since I selected a Canadian demo database, whenever I print marketing documents, they come out in French. I was wondering if there was a script to automatically default PLD documents to English instead.
    Thanks in advance,
    Lazar

    Hi Lazar..........
Apart from standard setting of Language in the General Setting there are  some more settings at PLD level.
So please check whether you have set the correct language in Print Layout Designer or not.
You can set this language by following steps......
Open the document window for which you want to set the printer as per print layout and Go to Tools and Layout Designer.
This will open the report and Layout Manager.
Now you can see the Layout you take a preview and just select that and press edit button.
This will open Layout Design and there right click on design and go to Properties and there you can see the Language selected in Dropdown under General Tab. Just the right language here and then save PLD and then preview and give Print.......
Hope this will resolve your Issue..........

    Rahul
