PLD Template

Hi All,
In the Layout Designer window we can select different document types.
If i select Sales and Purchase Register it displays the  Sales and Purchase Register report in the template list below.
I would like to know where this  particular report is linked with the document.
OR
How can I know which document is attached with which Report template ?

The Tables related to PLD document templates are RDOC and RITM.  When you set a PLD as default for a user or BP, then entried are created in RDFL tables.  You can also check RTYP.
If I have more info I will post it.

  • Copy PLD templates

    Hi all,
I am trying to copy a PLD template from one DB to another.
I am using the query that I found here on the forum:
    INSERT INTO [Target].[DBO].[RDOC]
    SELECT [Source].[DBO].[RDOC].* FROM [Source].[DBO].[RDOC]
    WHERE [Source].[DBO].[RDOC].DOCCODE = 'VPM10003'
    INSERT INTO [Target].[DBO].[RITM]
    SELECT [Source].[DBO].[RITM].*
    FROM [Source].[DBO].[RITM]
    WHERE [Source].[DBO].[RITM].DOCCODE = 'VPM10003' AND [Source].[DBO].[RITM].DOCCODE
    IN (SELECT DOCCODE FROM [Target].[DBO].[RDOC])
I get the following error however and I havent been able to figure out why:
Insert Error: Column name or number of supplied values does not match table definition.
I would normally use the method of copying all the fields, but the 2 databases are on different patch levels so i cant log into the source DB in the normal way.
Can anyone give me any suggestions as to what I may be doing wrong??
    Thanks and regards,
    John O'Brien

    Hi Suda,
    Thanks for quick reply.
I will try to get this cust upgraded asap.

  • Is it possible 2 copy PLD template

    Hi All,
I created one PLD template and i want 2 copy the same matter to another PLD template is it possible in SAP B1 if so plz help me.....

    Hi
When you copy the fields from a Sales Order PLD to an Invoice PLD, you will have to change the fields to 'point' to the correct tables. The Bill To for instance, must be changed to A/R Invoice - Bill To and the Document No field must be A/R Invoice - Doc No.
Use the field index window to highlight each field and make all the neccessary changes (including the hidden fields).

  • Problem w/ Duplicate PLD Template

    Good day mentors,
I used Duplicate PLD Template to copy from a source PLD. In which now I have already have the correct design/configuration for client's lx300 printers. The problem I am facing now is that the source document or PLD was from Delivery(System). This pld defaults to printing 2 copies of the pld even if I set the new pld in which i copied from Delivery to print only one copy.
    Steps:
    1. Created customized Delivery PLD.
    2. Copied customized Delivery PLD via "Duplicate Layout Template" into ARInvoice and Purchase Order
    3. Currently printing 2 copies even if repetitive area has only 1 line item for the source and target documents.
Client is using a preprinted forms w/ tripilicate copies via dot matrix printer. Thus I want to remove the extra copies PLD is making by default.
If there is another link which answers this please post the link.
    Thanks in advance,
    Sean

    Hi Gordon,
Sorry. My mistake. I thought there was something wrong w/ the duplicate layout template of SBO, but in fact its a problem of the page size in that I need to adjust the height of the areas inside the pld.
I am still fixing the pld, but I am certain that its the area height that's the problem.
    Thanks,
    Sean

  • PLD layout template cannot change or modify layout contents..

    Dear Experts,
I have duplicated a PLD layout template, but then when I wish to change either a picture or texts in the template, I was not able to save the template thereafter.
On a closer look at the DB, I realized the RDOC.CanChange field is set to 'N'. Can anyone advice me the nature of this field if it is related to my problem? and how I can set it to 'Y' using the SBO application.
    Thanks in Advance!
    Warmest Regards,

    Hi LIm ,
The header data of any PLD goes to Rdoc and Item level data goes to Ritm table .
Actually this is right concern for u , but this should by Y.
So pls instead of changing from backend , kkep looking  fron front end .
If you duplicate a pld template and save this with your own given name, u can do changes .
this is ideal application od PLD.
Chek the  database and formula field of your pld .
Hope this will help u .

  • Saving print layout templates

In a future release, would it be possible to have a function whereby you can save your print layouts in a folder, as a backup precaution incase you accidentally delete or alter an original one?  At the moment, you can only back the PLD templates up via daily database backups.  I have a customer who has spent a very long time perfecting their print layout templates and he thinks this functionality would be very useful and reassuring.
    Thanks

    Hello Kate,
Within 8.8 release, we are introducing new control of 'Report and Layout Management' which enables joint management of PLD and Crystal Reports layouts. This enhances the usability of maintenance of print layouts and should reduce a risk of accidential deletion of the print layout.
Moreover, Crystal Reports can be also saved outside SAP Business One as a separate file (similarly like those for XL Reporter).

  • Default PLD language in setup

    Hi,
When Canada localisation is used, the default language for the PLD templates is French, even if the base language is indicated as English.
Please fix this so that the PLD template language is determined by the base language selected.
    Thank you,
    Heather

Can you take a photo of the BIOS screens and post them here?
Otherwise, take a look at the BIOS screens and look for the word Sprache. That is the German word for language.   The word for English in German is Englisch.

  • Copy template from company to company

I have a PLD Template designed for one company.  I like to use the same for another company as it is.  I dont want to design a new template for the target company, just copy it and change the logo.  How can I send it from One company database to other company database?
    Thanks
    SV Reddy

    HI SV,
Yes ...you will have to copy tabel to table . This is a bit technical . You will havew to ask your tedchnical consulaten to look into it.
Also  as you mentioned this can be achieved thru Copy Express the Link of which is as follows.

  • Different PLD's for invoices

    Friends,
my client has three different types of invoices with different PLD's at the A/R Invoice window. Everytime he has to select a particular PLD as default for printing that particular type of invoice. Is there any method by which we can set the system to ask us as to what PLD fpormat we want to use and then select any one of them and execute print command.
    Thanks in advance.

The PLD template can be set as default only for a Specific User or Specific BP?
Service and Item Invoice type use different templates?
I don't think it can be done for different types of invoices,  What do you mean by different types?

  • Using Copy Express  in PLD

    Hi Experts,
Is it possible to transfer PLD layouts from one database to another using Copy Express.
Can any one help me to solve this issue. bcs i have created all layout in test data base now i want to transfer to production database ....ASAP pls....
    Karthi.

    Karthi,
Copy Express will surely do the job and if you want to just copy a few templates individually, you could use this SQL Script
    INSERT INTO [TARGET\].[DBO\].[RDOC\]
    SELECT [SOURCE\].[DBO\].[RDOC\].* FROM  [SOURCE\].[DBO\].[RDOC\]
    WHERE  [SOURCE\].[DBO\].[RDOC\].DOCCODE = 'CHO*****'
    INSERT INTO [TARGET\].[DBO\].[RITM\]
    SELECT [SOURCE\].[DBO\].[RITM\].*
    FROM [SOURCE\].[DBO\].[RITM\]
    WHERE [SOURCE\].[DBO\].[RITM\].DOCCODE = 'CHO*****' AND [SOURCE\].[DBO\].[RITM\].DOCCODE
    IN (SELECT DOCCODE FROM [TARGET\].[DBO\].[RDOC\])
I DocCode example shown above is of the Check PLD template
You can get the DocCode from the PLd Document Properties window

  • PLD - How to print 'Offic Copy' or 'Customer Copy' on Docuemnts

While printing various Marketing documents,  I need to print a messge saying 'Office Copy' on the 1st copy of the Marketing document and 'Customer Copy' on the second copy of the Marketing document,  Is it possible to do this using the PLD??
    Thanks!!
    Dana

    Dana,
The solution I am suggesting is my approach to your scenario.
Create a User defined field in the Marketing Documents ..Title level by going to Manage User Fields window, choose Tools  > User-Defined Fields > Manage User Fields.
It can be an alphanumic field.. Check Set Valid Values for Field and define
    Office Copy
    Customer Copy
Map this field into your PLD template and print.
    Alternate Approach.
Is to use the Printed field in the ORDR table to check if the copy of the first copy or Second Copy.
SAP Stored 'Y' on 'N' in this field and the same is available in the PLD .
In the PLD of the marketing document.. Page Header area
Add a Database field from ORDR - Sales Order...Field: Printed
Add a formula field and in the Contents Tab of the Field properties window .. Add formula to Check the Value of the Database Field you Added (Printed) = "Original"
Example: Field_203 == "Original"  (suppose field_203 is the printed field you added)
Add another formula field referring to the same printed field (Field_203 == "Copy")
Add two Text Fields with Text "Office Copy"  and "Customer Copy"
The the Office Copy text field, add the first formula field (Field_203 == "Original") as the link field and similarly the second formula field to the "Customer Copy" text field.
This way when you print the First time, the marketing document would evaulate the Printed field and Print Office Copy and the Second time onwards it will print customer Copy.
    Good luck

  • How to set a different PLD for checks payment vs. outgoing payments?

    Hi Experts,
Is there a way to configure B1 to use one PLD for checks that originate from the 'Checks for Payment' window/process and another for checks that originate from the 'Outgoing Payments' window/process? I see in our current configuration that they are sharing the same PLD and I would like to change that.
    Thanks!

    Hi Lang,
If they are issued from the same bank, then it would be the same cheque stock that is used for printing which is why they use the same PLD template. Whether the payment is created through Outgoing Payments, Checks for Payment or Payment Wizard, the end result uses the same template if the same bank is used.
If it's issued from different banks, you would select the applicable bank and could have different templates. In this case, the PLD template would be determined under Setup / House Bank Accounts.
    Hope that helps,
    Heather

  • Journal Voucher PLD

    Hi All,
I'm using PLD, my client want that on Journal Voucher they will print the "user". The user(usersign) resides on the OBTD table but in SAP B1 2007B PLD theres no OBTD table in the list of database. How will I print that data?
    Thanks and Regards,
    Lean

    Hi Clint,
Sorry for late response, here are the screenshots for my Journal Voucher and UDF..
Above photo shows the Jounal Voucher, and the encircled in red is the value I want to be printed in my PLD template.
Above picture shown the UDF I make so that I can call the U_USER in OBTF, but unfortunately, the SAP B1 system does not responding the way I want. When I revised the Journal Voucher (System) template and saved it as customized template, it seems that I can't modify it.
    Thanks and Regards,
    Lean

  • Copy Express PLD from test DB to Live DB

    Hi,
I'm totally a new user for "Copy Express" function. I would like to copy a PLD only from my testing db to my live db. I've read other
threads on this topic, and wondering whether can I copy only the PLD without copying the other datas (user cong, master data &
    etc). Please advise. Thanks.
    Cheers,
    Serene

    Hi Serene,
In the left panel of CXp, the selection boxes represent what will be copied. If you drill-down, you will see you can get it down to individual records, including specific PLD templates.
Best to test using the add-on to get familiar with it.
I suggest testing with one first. I've used CXp to copy PLD templates and recently noticed that I need to fix the formatting in the target db as some of the fields have the background in black. My workaround is to copy one template, fix it and then, depending on the template, use the Duplicate Layout Template tool to create related PLD templates (ex. Quote to create SO).
