Improving SQL skills will often be a good thing for a large range of people.
Checkout [www.oracle.com/education/certification] and particularly 'View all certification' to help you choose.
Also Drill down from the that link for exam topics, training and authorized practice exams.
A better way of choosing the question is what set of skills would do I think I can and would like to master,
Where do I think these skills will help me in a career,
What training will I need to master those skills,
And what certification will should that I have mastered them.
If you have already a little/experience I suggest 1z0-047 for Oracle Database: SQL Certified Expert* perhaps ought to be exam of choice, as this ought to be useful for the widest range of jobs. However I might actually suggest going for 1z0-051 first as a possibly easier target stepping stone. Incidently I have not taken 1z0-047 myself.
1Z0-001
Introduction to Oracle: SQL® and PL/SQL™This exam is about to be retired and is therefore probably bad choice.
1Z0-047
Oracle Database SQL ExpertCannot be taken online, perhaps a good thing. May lead to an OCE certification. May be harder to study for and marginally more expensive
1Z0-007
Introduction to Oracle9i SQL®
1Z0-051
Oracle Database 11g: SQL Fundamentals 1Both can be taken online and are adequate component of a number of certifications. 11g is obviously more up to date. Both, I believe, are not subject to a 14 day retake if you fail.
The osbourne/oracle press ISBN-13: 978-0071597869: OCA Oracle Database 11g SQL Fundamentals I Exam Guide: Exam 1Z0-051 (Osborne Oracle Press Series) does a good job of covering 1z0-051 if your starting with some experience of SQL but I suggest you should suppliment that with quality (eg Oracle) training if necessary

    Hi All,
I have 2 years of work experience as Plsql developer, even then i dont have in-depth knowledge of the subject.
plz help me to choose the right certification path which make me learn new topics and even boost my career.
    For Level 1: IZ0-047 or IZ0-051.
    For level 2: IZ0-144 or IZ0-147.
    For level 3:only 1 choice IZ0-146.
i even need suggestions on combinations....
    IZ0-047+IZ0-147 ?? or IZ0-051+IZ0-144
    Thanks in advance..

Thanks in advance..1z0-147 is an old exam and IMHO has a poor choice of subjects and is out of date and is targeted somewhat at PL/SQL use within forms. 1z0-144 is a more modern exam targetted an more modern PL/SQL needs.
Between 1z0-051 and 1z0-047 the choice is different. 1z0-051 is an 'easier' and less advanced exam than 1z0-047, therefore you should be able to get up to speed and pass it much easier. However you will learn some useful SQL techniques studying to pass 1z0-047. For 1z0-047 you get the SQL OCE certificate as well.
Perhaps a good choice, if you have the money, is to take 1z0-051 first and then 1z0-047 if you feel like it, perhaps after you have your PL/SQL OCP.
    But the choice is yours.
If you start studying for 1z0-051, and find it too easy, consider switching to study for 1z0-047. The topics on 1z0-047 are are superset of 1z0-051's (Though 1z0-051 might not go into so much detail on some areas of 1z0-051).

  • 10G Confirmation Of Exam Passes Needed For OCA Then OCP

    Hello
Apologies if this has been asked in another thread.
In order to be allowed to gain 10G OCP do I need to pass these exams in the following order:
1Z0-042 and one of these(1Z0-007, 1Z0-047, 1Z0-051) to gain OCA first and then 1Z0-043(plus course).
I have passed 1Z0-042 and I was wanting to study for 1Z0-043 next. I have been told that before I can sit 1Z0-043 I would need to complete one of these first(1Z0-007, 1Z0-047, 1Z0-051).
Please confirm the right course of action for me.
    Thanks

ThanksYou can take the exams in whatever order you like. So if you want to do 1z0-043 then (1z0-007/047/051) as you seem to want to do you can.
So you appear to have been told misinformation ..... however .....
    0) If you passed 1z0-042 a very long time ago, dec 2008 from memory, you dont have to do an SQL exam. Certview will show your exemption if you are exempt. And you will already be an 10g DBA OCA.
    1) It is IMHO probably far far more sensible to do 1z0-051 or 1z0-007 before continuing with 1z0-043.
--- This is because passing a the SQL will gain you (with you 1z0-042 pass) an 10g DBA OCA. .... and also because good SQL will help with your Oracle Practice and with your OCP study.
--- (An exeption might be if yu just attended a hands on course and wished to study to take the 1z0-043 exam as soon as possilbe after the course).
Important thought is for you to have planned to attend an appropriate Hands on course for your 10g DBA OCP ... its time to think about that if your haven't already.

  • GPU Acceleration. Which one to choose for Premiere CC: CUDA or OpenCL?

If anyone has any experience regarding CUDA vs OpenCL acceleration in Premiere Pro CC, I would really appreciate your thoughts on this:
I have a Sager 8270 laptop with an nVidia GTX770M video card with 3GB GDDR5 VRAM that I need to exchange since the one I got is defective.  I can either exchange it for the same model, or an identically spected model with an AMD Radeon HD  8970M Graphics with 4GB GDDR5 VRAM.  Which one should I choose?  Is CUDA acceleration inherently better than OpenCL for Premiere, After Effects and Photoshop?  Is it the other way around, or are they about the same?
Do AMD cards that aren't on Adobe's officially supported list of cards work the same as unsupported nVidia cards?  Neither one of these two cards are on the list, but in CC, my GTX770M works fine without any hacks.
Any info on this is much appreciated, including links to other relevant articles/threads! (I found the 'OpenCL vs Cuda for CS6' thread but it didn't help)
    Thank you!
In case this helps, here are my laptop's specs:
    Intel Core i7 Haswell 2.7Mhz
    32GB DDR3 1600Mhz RAM
Windows 7 Home Edition (on Windows 8 now but will  go back to Windows 7)
    120GB SSD for OS
    960GB SSD for Video Files/Projects
    1TB HDD for documents

  • Which processor to choose for Final Cut Pro working with files from DSLR?

I am shooting in hd with Canon Eos 5d MK II and another camera the Panasonic HDC sd700.
I am considering upgrading my Mac to either a stationary Mac Pro or an Imac 27 inch (which is a bit more flexible).
1.) How much difference in performance of FCP between the 2,8 GHz Quad-Core Intel Xeon "Nehalem" and the 2.8GHz Quad-Core Intel Core i5 (the latter installed in the Imac)??????
2.) How much need is there for external esata drives which I can get with the Mac Pro option in regard to performance needs in comparison with the slower FW800 I get with the Imac? Is this crucial? Will FW 800 external drives be to slow?
I am thinking of installing 8GB of ram if I go for the Imac and 6GB of ram if I go for the Mac Pro.

A point to remember Motion uses the RAM on the graphics card for rendering not the machine RAM .. I have also read that while FCP is still 32bit it can only access something like 4 / 6Gb RAM at a time .. so as a previous post says you can always add more RAM and more HDDs in a MAC Pro .. indeed it is a breeze to upgrade a graphics card too .. I have both a MAC Pro and an i7 iMAC I never use the iMAC for FCS work .. it is powerful enough but Geekbench (free benchmark tool http://www.primatelabs.ca/geekbench/) puts my MAC Pro way ahead of the iMAC .. my Pro is a 2 X Quad Core 2.26 with 12Gb RAM

  • [SOLVED] (...) which CFLAGS to choose for /etc/makepkg.conf

Hello all. I read about certain CFLAGS you can set in /etc/makepkf.conf, so I checked out if there was anything i could do to make the packages built on my system more optimized. However, as the title states, I'm not sure what to set. The sticker on my Thinkpad T61 says "Intel® Centrino® vPro™ inside™"
Which CPU type from the Intel list on that page applies to me? Thanks

This Gentoo wiki page looks legit. You may want to do a bit of background research before you dig into compile flags, as there's quite a lot that gcc can break when you tell it to crunch down your programs. Also, gcc's man page is pretty exhaustive; but if you're just looking for your -march flag, it's pentium-m.
Big 'AFAIK' here, but ignore the 'pro,' as Intel tends to arbitrarily tack that on products to up the price tag a smidgeon.

  • Please advice mac server & os x server for open directory ?

I have plans to create an open directory server, please advise what kind of computer I can use for mac os x server?
and use the mac os x server version number?

Technically, any Mac model capable of running Mavericks (10.9.x) can be used as a Mac OS X Server system running Open Directory. That's the least of your problems, but there's not enough data in your post to tell if that's enough.
There's a world of difference between running a home server with half a dozen accounts and a 10,000 user enterprise with network accounts, network home directories, etc., etc.
You may or may not need to consider availability (e.g. run multiple Open Directory servers to manage load/failure, etc.) - a small home network might not care, and enterprise would.

  • Which soundcard to choose for recording (guitar, MC etc)?

Which soundcard upto 150 USD would you recommend for RECORDING sound? I do not need all these 7.1, 3D sound and other things for computer games and DVD movies - I DO NOT play computer games and do no watch DVD movies, I do not even listen to music with a computer - I have a CD player for that purpose. So the output can be plain, I do not care; the important thing for me is INPUT. I want it to be clean and of high quality. So what soundcards would you recommend me, being no more than 150 USD?

If you have a pre-amp for line sources/microphones,
    ESI Juli@ (around ~130US$)

    E-MU 0404 (under 100US$)
If you need a device w/ mic-preamp then you propably need to pay a bit more.
M-Audio USB, E-MU 0202/0404 USB, Presonus Inspire, etc.

  • How do I know which adapter to choose for my MacBook 4.1?

    Hi,
I have a MacBook 4.1 and need an adapter. I know I need an L-shaped one, but there seems to be all sorts of Wattages out there. Which one's the right one?
Thanks a lot for your help!

Welcome to the Apple Support Communities
You have an Early or Late 2008 MacBook, that uses a T-shaped MagSafe. See > http://support.apple.com/kb/HT2346
In your case, you can buy this power adapter > http://www.amazon.com/Apple-60W-Power-Adapter-MacBook/dp/B000FQ245I/ref=sr_1_5?s =electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1364162769&sr=1-5&keywords=T-shaped+magsafe

  • NVIDIA GeForce GTX 775M or 780M iMac, which one to choose for PS CS6?

    Hi,
I'm planning to buy a new iMac 27", 16MB, 3 TB fusion drive. But for the graphics I don't know (and cannot find) what is best (would be sufficient) for Photoshop CS6 (and Lightroom-5). Would the standard GeForce GTX 775M 2GB be enough for my use or will the GeForce GTX 780M 4GB give a really better performance? It’s not the budget that’s holding me, but sometimes you get too much unused power in your Mac. I use Photoshop and Lightroom for (sometimes extensive) photo editing and not for video or 3D.
    Murk

    Musch Imac,
Did you ever post your findings?
I'm in a similar situation.  I want to get a new Imac in the very near future (few weeks max).
The areas i'm not sure about getting as options are:
    1) I5 vs. I7 -> tho leaning towards I7
    2) Nvidia GPU 775m 2gb vs. 780m 4gb  -> tho leaning towards 775m
From my research if I go with the I7 then I could probably skimp on the GPU and get the 2GB 775M
Currently I do not nor do I plan on any gaming.   Photo and video editing is at a bare minimum - HOWEVER, photo and video editing is something I'm interested in and would like to pursue.  With the Imac, once you buy it, you can NOT change or upgrade.  So i'm thinking better to be safe than sorry.
Having said that, do my poins 1 and 2 above make better sense?
    Thanks,

  • Which codec to choose for a music video edit with this setup?

I am using a new camera (for me that is) a Panasonic Hdc Sd700 and have shot a music video with two of these cameras. I am using Clipwrap to encode and the options as far as I can see are:
    Apple Intermediate Codec (Aic)
    Apple ProRes 422
    Apple Prores 422 HQ.
I am going to use some effects so there will be several tracks of video to deal with. I have an external esata drive and another external FW800 drive.
I am working on a laptop (Macbook Pro) with these specs: 4 Gb Ram, 2.5 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo
Is 422 HQ to much too handle for this machine?
I still have much to learn .....

Is 422 HQ to much too handle for this machine?
It's overkill anyway, just based on the camera you are using. Regular ProRes or ProRes LT will be fine.
    Don't use Apple Intermediate.

  • OCA: Which exam first - SQL or OCA

    Hello
I want to get certified on Oracle 10G OCA. Will I be allowed to take the OCA exam first and then the SQL exam?
    TK

    Hi TK,
Yes you can take them in any order. Administration followed by SQL is perfectly fine. I suppose people just suggest the other way around as it gives you more time to decide between 10g and 11g but if you've decided then go for it.
