Please advice process change in Solution Manger user creation

Hello All,
We have like 5 systems linked to Solution manager now.
We are trying to make some improvements in our daily activities by reducing / eliminating few steps. In our current scenario, users are LDAP authenticated, so we run a query (RSLDAPSYNC_USER) and create a user. Then assign the roles in SU01.
So, is it possible to have user creation (by LDAP authentication - RSLDAPSYNC_USER) and role assignment in a single step?
Or
Can you create a user group for each type of user and have any automated jobs for automatically assigning roles to the users of that user group?
We can use su10 for assigning roles in case of more users, but i am looking for some more options.

We are using solution manager for user maintenance.
If any internal user requests for SAP application access we give it via solution manage. Solution manager is again connected to our LDAP server and pick the details from LDAP by running a query.
During this user creation process we have some default roles which are supposed to be given to all the users related to one particular system. Lets say SRM users, if we are creating any SRM users then we have to give the default roles to all the users we created.
So, is it possible to have these default roles assigned automatically when i create?

Is your purchase account active in your system.
The entry which is showing means that you have booked both Goods/Planned delivery Charges together.
Which normally should not be done as vendors are different and creates confusion.
It is always better if you can book your Planned Delivery cost and goods cost separately.

Ip Centrex failure solution -- Urgent please advice

Can anyone provide me a solution for the below case ?
According to the above layout, here's a scenario for Hosted PBX or IP centrex.
Incase my exchange goes and lose connection between my Service provider, ofcourse my extenstions will not able to communicate with each other.
I need a solution by which it doesnt matters if the connection is lost bby atleast i can dial internal extensions.
For example
Here IP PBX is hosted to our Service provider, and connected to the customer (ABC Corp. Ltd.) having each floor extensions (ext 100, ext101, ext102)
Suppose if exhange goes down and the connection is lost with the Service Provider (SIP trunk). in this case the extension 100 will not be able to dail 101 or 102 and vice versa.
Please advice that through which solution connecting the VOIP phones will it allow to work internally within the office?

This is one time Company report where they want to keep in their server. we have this report by branches in Excel sheet, which works for them. we need a report for the whole company (say for eg, ATT). How to delegate the users creation permission on OU in active directory using security tab

I trying to give user creation permission to a security group on OU using security tab. I have given the following permission :-
1. Object tab ---> Applies to = this object and all descedent objects ---> permission = User creation object
but this is not working. User from this security group are not able to create users. getting permisson related error.

You need to grant additional permissions - user creation is not enough, on it's own...
Why not use the Delegation of Control Wizard?

Are you saying that Adobe Reader or Preview can't read PDF file that you download? Or, are you saying that you can't display PDF files in your Safari broweer? If the latter, then delete any AdobePDFViewer plugins you find in /Library/Internet Plug-ins/ and restart. That should allow Safari to display PDFs in its window. BTW, that's the worst place to view them. Better to download them and use Adobe Reader or Preview.

Can you please advice on RAW device file permission change to crw-r-----

Currently we have Oracle9i (9.2.0.5) RAC on IBM AIX 5.2 system with 2 node cluster.
We use the RAW device for Oracle data file default file permission for raw device is crw-rw---- can we change to crw-r-----(remove write permission from group).

Containers in practice � please advice

Hello forum users,
I am finishing computer science studies this year and I need to create thesis. I�m interested in Solaris containers and would like to describe this technology. I want to create a project that uses containers to do �something useful� and provide some functionality, not only shows how to create zones and assign resources.
I have an Ultra 10 with Ultra Sparc IIi 300MHz CPU , 512 MB RAM and 20 GB HDD available. Does someone have any idea how to show practical use of containers on such machine?
Other solution I think about is just to design containers without implementation, so I would not need any hardware. But Unfortunately I do not have administration experience to decide about resource allocation.
Could you please advice if you have any ideas about using containers on Ultra 10, or if you can provide any suggestions for using Containers in practice.

Ah, the joys of a senior thesis...
First, I hope you have a faculty adviser who's on-board with your plan -- it will make things must easier and they can provide a lot of guidance about how to proceed and what to work on.
As for zones, I would probably look at doing a work that is mostly theoretical (though you'll need to do some real world work to get enough experience to be able to write this with any sort of authority). I'd aim for a piece on where zones came from (eg. BSD chroot jails with a smattering of java sand boxes and VM's in general) and what they gained and what they lost in that process (maybe even a bit on how much of the OS they had to touch/modify to support it -- eg. the scope of work). If you've got any contacts who can introduce you to any of the key players in zone development (again, where your faculty adviser comes in handy) you might include some interview material, but I'd wait till you understand the technology very well before you go that route so you can ask good, meaningful questions.
If you want something more "down to earth" (if zones can ever be described that way...) then I'd probably pick a common task that computers do (web/application serving, databases, etc. -- whatever you might have some background in already) then describe your implementation of that in a zone, what challenges it presented, limitations and advantages it has. For example: we're very interested in the possibility of giving DBA's root access to their own zone (probably just in development) so they can take care of day-to-day root.sh runs on Oracle and such but we know there's going to be lots work in management of resources that will fall to the admin group which makes us less excited...

If you are unable to login you need to delete SAP* so that it will be recreated and you can login as sap*/pass
Try doing this
login to ora<sid>
sqlplus u201C/as sysdbau201D
delete SAPSR3. USR02 where BNAME = 'SAP*' and MANDT='000';
commit;
bounce the server for paramter to take effect then try with sap* and pass
SAPSR3 would be your schemaid
To find the schema, perform u201Cenv | grep schemau201D (if its unix platform) windows check in enivronement variable for schema id
See that you have parameter login/no_automatic_user_sapstar = 0
then only we can reset sap* password
If the parameter doesn't exist then maintain in instance profile
/usr/sap/SID/SYS/profiles/SID_DVEBMGS00_Host
with entry login/no_automatic_user_sapstar = 0 and bounce the server

Could you please guide me to advice the User Exit/Badi which can be used for changing Quant Data during TO Creation.
User Requirement: Using "Recepient Field" in MIGO as a Key Value for FIFO in WM during goods issue. Receipient is copied into TR and TO (Standard SAP Functionality). For the purpose of Stock Removal based on Receipient Value, we need to copy this value into Quant Data field named Certificate Number ("LQUA-ZEUGN").
I will highly appreciate reply from Gurus.

FF 6.0 doesn't open pdf-links, after clicking on "open pdf" error message says file not supported or damaged. IE opens file all right. Please advice.

Firefox 6.0 doesn't open pdf-links after clicking on "open pdf". I frequently need to do literature searches and I need to view pdf files in the browser. After clicking on the pdf - link of a file the main options are to open or download the pdf. Every time I try to open a pdf-file a blank page and an error message appears saying the file would not be supported or is damaged. IE, however, opens the file all right. I tried various changes in the security and cookie settings without success. Please advice.

This document is almost certainly a dynamic XFA form. Unfortunately, our mobile Reader does not support displaying or filling such forms. The application that produces this form embeds this message into the document so that non-supportive viewers (like ours) will display this "error" page when the document opens. I do realize that this is confusing and I would like to add some additional detection to our Reader for this case. However, we've avoided doing this for fear of confusing users even further. Your feedback helps though. Hopefully we'll find a way to detect this case and present a better message to the user like: This form is not supported by the mobile version of the Adobe Reader. Please open and fill it on the non-mobile version of the Adobe Reader for Windows, Linux or Mac OSX.
