Please advise? After 17/03/2013 Adobe update, Flash Player uninstalls itself on reboot.

Please advise.  After 17/03/2013 Adobe update, Flash Player uninstalls itself on reboot.

I'd like to investigate what's occurring.  Would you be willing to run the following steps to generate a debug log for me?  If this looks like too much work, please let me know and if you're willing we can schedule a quick desktop sharing session so I can do this on your system for you.
1. Download “SetACL (executable version)_2.zip” from: http://bit.ly/WEppuY
2. Extract the appropriate “SetACL.exe” from either the 64 bit or 32 bit folder and place it alongside the flash_report.bat file attached to this post.
3. Right click flash_report.bat and select “Run as administrator”
Once run, please copy/paste the contents of the flashreport.txt file into a reply.
Thanks,
Chris

Cannot reinstall. IT is not installed anywhere on the machine. How can I install it again and resolve the issue quickly?

Hi, You can read this Revised Troubleshooting Guide to make sure you have followed the correct procedures. Be sure to read it all, since it is not written to follow as Step1, etc. Some information that you may need could be listed over half way down.
    http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/191/tn_19166.html
Make sure you are the Administrator and use that Account. Also be aware that your Anti-Virus may block the Install.
After you read that and then Uninstall, then I would suggest using the Manual Installer(s) which are listed in the Guide.

Adobe Updater flashes a message on my screen once a week that says "No Internet connection. Please check your Internet settings and/or firewall. Waiting for connection..." Everything else works perfectly on my Internet connection.

    I'm experiencing a similar problem.
I have a MacBook Pro Late 2011.  I was using Lion (not Mountain Lion) with CS3 with no problems.  Recently I installed a new hard drive in my computer and used Time Machine to transfer all my files and settings (still with Lion; I did not try to open any Adobe applications at this point).  Then I udpated to Mavericks.  Upon trying to open one of the Adobe applications, it told me I needed to reinstall CS3.  I inserted the original disc and followed the instructions on the ReadMe file.  I went to Applications > Utilities > Adobe Installers > Add or Remove Adobe Creative Suite 3 Design Premium.  I did a reinstall, and at the end, it said that some of the components failed to install (see screenshot):
I did a partial install (not all CS3 applications), so there could have been more errors than this if all applications were installed.  The applications themselves appear to work fine, but when I try to run the updater, it tells me I have no internet connection.

Acrobat updater works just fine [after I install the manual updates till 9.2.0].
Can you tell me where to find these manual updates?  I looked on this page:
    http://www.adobe.com/support/downloads/collection.jsp?collID=1&platform=Macintosh
but I don't see 9.2.0 for any of the CS3 applications.
The CS3 that I purchased (Design Premium) came with Adobe Acrobat 8.  I tried to manually install the 8.1.1 update.  It said, "Please choose the copy of Adobe Acrobat Professional to update", but the application is grayed out (see below).  I did not try to install any other manual updates, yet.
I'm not sure what to do here besides use my CS3 applications the way they are without updating them ever.  (I would rather not subscribe to the Creative Cloud.)  Any help will be appreciated.  I might try doing a complete unintall followed by a fresh install.

  • I have tried to update flash player and when I put in my password, it is rejected.  I have recently updated my email address and changed my password, but adobe will not accept.  Can I get help, please, to update flash player?

I have tried to update flash player and when I put in my password, it is rejected.  I have changed my email and password and have so informed adobe, but I am still unable to install flash player update.  How can I update adobe flash?

This password prompt is presented by your operating system, and is intended to keep you from accidentally installing software.
If this is your personal machine and you don't need a password to log into the computer when it first starts up, you can probably leave the password blank and click OK to get past this prompt.  If this is your personal machine and your normal password isn't working, check to make sure that CAPS LOCK is off, and type the password carefully.
If this is your work machine and it's asking for an Administrator password, well, you'll need to have a conversation with your friendly IT person.

  • Update Flash Player via Adobe or whatever Apple updates?

I have always just let whatever Apple installer that updates Flash Player do my flash updating. Should I, instead, just always update directly from Adobe whatever the "latest" version of FP is? In the past, Apple seems to include a FP update with either a Safari or Security update. I have no idea if they do not update FP on a more frequent schedule because Apple has not "tested" the latest version.
Also, I have read that it is better to uninstall your current FP before running the current installer, however, the instructions on Adobe's website does not mention that at all.
    Any suggestions?

Apple does not provide Flash Player updates, and the version included with the OS X install disks may be out of date.
Update via Adobe when you hear of an update, or just check regularly.
The latest version of Adobe FlashPlayer can be obtained from here:
    http://www.adobe.com/shockwave/download/download.cgi?P1ProdVersion=ShockwaveFlash
(You can check here: http://www.adobe.com/products/flash/about/ to see which version you should install for your Mac and OS.
You should first uninstall any previous version of Flash Player, using the uninstaller from here (make sure you use the correct one!):
    http://kb.adobe.com/selfservice/viewContent.do?externalId=tn_14157
and also that you follow the instructions closely, such as closing ALL applications first before installing. You must also carry out a permission repair after installing anything from Adobe.

Chrome has its own "proprietary" plugin ("PepperFlash") which is embedded by Google and you cannot update it here. "Not no way, not no how."
You MUST update Chrome to update the Flash Player in it. (Even if that means completely uninstalling and reinstalling it, as I have to do on each of eight machines where I have chrome installed.)
    There are "offline" FULL Installers:
Flash Player for ActiveX (Internet Explorer)
Flash Player Plug-in (All other browsers)
and Reader's offline FULL installer can be downloaded here: http://get.adobe.com/reader/enterprise/
NONE of these require any additional downloading. YOu simply "save" them, close your browser, and run them.

  • After updating Flash Player, continue to get message "Flash Player Update Required"

Even though I have just installed Flash Player 12 and it shows on my list of programs, I continue to get the message "Flash Player Update Required" when I try to view a video or play a Facebook game.  I have rebooted but still doesn't work.

Issue resolved!  I uninstalled Flash Player and reinstalled it from the
Adobe website.  Then rebooted and that took care of the problem.
    Thanks for your help!

  • Update Flash Player (General Plug-in) in Adobe applications

    Hello,
Secunia PSI detects Adobe Flash Player 9.x (General Plug-ins)
as unsafe. The Plug-ins are used by the Adobe applications: Bridge,

use their own Plug-in (installed with the programms) and haven't
been updatet by the update routine of Flash 10.x.
How can I update the Plug-ins for these programms?

  • After a mac update; flash player asked to be installed.  Install successful but application will not work.

    Hello,
After a Mac update, flash player (along with silverlight) asked to be installed when I tried to watch video content or play games.  I installed flash player and it reports being successful and appears in my applications.  However, I cannot watch videos or play games, every time I am asked to install flash player again and again and again.  I suspect this has something to do with plugins but I am not sure.  I have un-installed the program and reinstalled but it still will not work.  I check my security settings and it does allow plugins.  I erased my temporary internet files.  I don't know what else to do.  Any help would be appreciated!  This is incredibly frustrating.  Thank you

Thank you for responding!  I am using a macbook pro 2011, 2.2ghz, intel
core i7, 16gb - version 10.9.5.   I have not intentionally installed any ad
blocking software; intact I am inundated with it most times.  My online
school work required that I disable pop up blockers and all was well until
an update a few weeks ago for both security and operating system.  To the
best of my knowledge I am allowing pop ups and plugins but this may be
where the trouble is.  I am unsure, honestly of what security is running
besides what I find in the system preference/security tab.  Thank you again
for responding and any help is most appreciated.

  • No sound after updating Flash Player 11.6

    Hi,
I need help. I have no sound on flash website, like youtube.com and vimeo.com. I try everything from all the fourms. Like updating my registtry. Follow all of adobe steps to fix the no sound problem(http://helpx.adobe.com/flash-player/kb/flash-player-games-video-or.html#main_Flash_Player_ information). Downloaded new codec's. Download a older verision of Flash 10 and completed reinstalled and deleted all old files and still no luck.
I have no sound on all my web browsers, like IE8, Chrome and Firefox. My sound works normally on itunes and windows media player, I just cant get my flash to work. I check all my speaker configurations and it is currently set on stereo.
I have spent countless hours and at the point of reformatting my computer if i cant fix it.

To help troubleshoot we'll need the following system information:
    Operating   system
    Flash   Player version(exact)
When reporting issues with video or audio, it's also helpful to get your system hardware and driver details.  Instructions for finding this information can be found here:
    Windows
Finally, sometimes video and audio problems are caused at a lower level and not directly related to Flash Player.  I recommend trying both of the links below in Chrome and Firefox to see how they perform.  If the problem exists with both, then Flash Player is most likely not the culprit as the HTML5 video link does not use Flash Player when playing.  You can verify the use of HTML5 by right clicking the HTML5 video and looking for the words "About HTML5" at the bottom of the context menu.
    HTML5   video
    Non-HTML5 video

  • Notification from Adobe regarding  Flash Player Updates

    Hello,
I work with a county wide non profit library system and we seem to have issues every so often with bringing up websites that use Adobe Flash to run their video player and game functionalities within the websites.   I've contacted Adobe to try and find out if there's any way at all that we could get on an email Distribution list to notify us everytime the Flash Player application plug-in for the web gets updated.  This would give us a "heads-up" pro active approach to this issue and allow us to serve our patrons more efficiently and effectively rather than waiting till we get complaints that our PCs aren't running Flash on them when we know that we are and the build just isn't the same.
    Any Help would be appreciated.

  • Hulu not working on mac OS 10.6.8 with Safari 5.1.8 after updating Flash Player to version 11.7.700.169.  YOu tube works fine. Any ideas?

I recently updated Flash PLayer to version 11.7.700.169 on my imac OSX 10.6.8 with Safari 5.1.8 browser and no longer get hulu to work. Scrren is black but audio is playing. You Tube continues to work fine.
    Any ideas?

JavaScript and Cookies are enabled.  my cookies list shows at least 3 associated with hulu.  Funny thing is, if I grab the up/down control bar on right side of screen with my mouse, then hulu plays in a somewhat chopped frame by frame. As soon as I let go, the frame freezes yet audio portion continues.
I don't know what a munged Hulu cookie is, however.
