Please advise: create chapters and create navigation menu

Hi,
relatively new to FCP I'm trying to create three chapters in a 1.5 hr. movie. Can someone tell me how to create 3 separate chapters, each preceded by it's owner chapter page.
I want to create a navigation menu from these chapters, that will be included on the DVD so that viewers can navigate immediately to either of these chapters.
I find the FCP manual rather confusing. Any help will be greatly appreciated !!!!

In FCP, you create chapter markers by first making sure that none of the clips are selected, then place the Timeline playhead where you want the chapter marker to be located, then hit the m key twice. A marker dialog window will open; give the chapter a name if you like (optional), then click the Chapter button in the dialog window.
Once you're finished with that (all editing should be completed before chapter markers are added), go to File-Export->QuickTime Movie. Include DVD Studio Pro markers in the drop-down menu.
Once in DVD Studio Pro, create the menu(s) you want to use, or import them if you created the menus in another application like Motion or Photoshop. Link to menu buttons to the chapters.
You should be able to find any number of tutorials online regarding this subject, as well as plenty of information in the DVD-SP user's manual/help files.

Creating Navigation Menu Screen

I am new using APEX 2.0. I'm trying to create a page containing a navigation menu consisting of 6 hypertext links. Each of these links has these properties:
1) needs to be associated with a small popup window in which I display some help text explaining the link. This help text window should popup whenever the user hovers the mouse on the link without displaying it.
2) when clicked on, the link should display a page residing in a different application (within the same workspace).
Would someone please help me get started.

The first thing you should do is setup all of your applications to use the same cookie name so they can all share the users session. This is done on the Authentication Scheme configuration at Shared Components>Authentication Scheme>Edit Authentication Scheme>Cookie Attributes (in v2.0 and 1.6 at least - 2.2 is a little different I think).
Then setup a little test by creating a link from one of your applications to another. In other words in f?p=100 setup a link that goes to f?p=101 or something similar. Once you get the links across apps working my preference would be to create a 'global' app where you would place your navigation page and make sure it's using the same cookie name. Then you can use the Shared Components>Lists in the 'global' app to create your navigation links.

Better you continue with that and plan and document the file system and size strategy.
'SAP Sizing' is very important, utilize it - service.sap.com/sizing
After you understand the guides' advice and explore standard sizing, then share your queries with us.
This concept is very detailed one and really the 'subjective' one - depends case to case - customer to customer - ultimately the SIZING will help you - It can't be explained clearly in a discussion thread 'initially'

Organizer not working properly, please advise.

The organizer imported all the thumbnails of my photos from my photo file but when i go to open that photo up it cant connect or find it. it does a "search" but its not found. i know my photos are there because i can open them directly from the photo file when i clich "Open with Elements Editor". I tried uninstalling /reinstalling, makingf sure no other programs are running. I would like to the Organizer as it is advertised. Any suggestions???? Thanks sara

Safari ▹ Preferences... ▹ Extensions
Turn all extensions OFF and test. If the problem is resolved, turn extensions back ON and then disable them one or a few at a time until you find the culprit.
2. Select
Safari ▹ Preferences... ▹ Privacy ▹ Remove All Website Data
and confirm. Test.

Combining Flashvideo and javascript nav-menu in same page?

Hi,
I'd be very greatful if I could get some help with the
following.
I have a page where I want to to insert a flash video. Only
problem is that I have built my navigation menu with a plugin from
PVII (PopMenuMagic-plugin) and it uses a bit of javascript.
So there is a mention of the menu's javascript in the
<head> and also in the <body onload=""> tag.
And this seems to collide with the mention of javascript that
Dreamweaver inserts relating to Flashvideo in the <head> tag
as well as it has its own <body onload=""> tag.
I don't know javascript (which is why I got the plugin in the
first place) so I don't know how to combine the flash video and the
navigation menu on the same page.
1) I don't know if there is a collision in the <head>
area between the javascript statements.
2) I don't know how to combine the 2 <body onload="">
arguments into a single argument.

Does anyone have an idea of how to resolve this?
I was thinking perhaps I could put the video in an iFrame as
a workaround but it would be nice to do it correctly without
iFrames.

Navigation menu--not centered

Mac gurus,
When I transferred my site to iweb 08, many things were different, but the one thing that I can't fix is the navigation menu. After reading some posts, I am nervous about publishing it, but even before I publish it, I would like to CENTER the navigation menu. The text block itself is still centered on the page, but the hyperlinks are now lined up on the left side of the text block.
I am unable to highlight anything in the text block in order to make the hyperlinks centered.
Any thoughts?

I feel your pain!
The funny/worst thing is that I have added 2 new pages since I posted the original request for help: one blog and one movie page. The blog page that I added is in a different template and it centered the navigation menu with no problem. The movie page that I added is in the same template as the original website and the navigation menu is un-centered just like the rest of the pages. Bizarre!!! I thought that a new page would not have the same issues as the old pages do upon transfer.

I am new on iweb, or website designg, i just did my page, and my navigator menu doesn't work, if i try go from welcome to about us, i click and nothing happends, same with my email botton, and i did the link with the inpector, same with the music! but it was working before..
any help??

Welcome to the iWeb Discussions. It appears that your grahic box of the hand is covering your email text and the nav bar is also covered by the Once Upon a Time box. Turn on 'Show Layout' and you'll see the graphic box extending over the email and the same for the nav bar.

Navigation menu links not working

I just published a site with iWeb and the navigation menu links are not working. They appear to be active when I mouseover them in iWeb, but but neither the mouseover effects nor the links themselves are working on the published site in Safari.

Finally solved the problem.
The title of the webpage had a clickable link right above the navigation bar. Once I removed that the navigation bar started working.
I'd guess that the webpage title was "infront" of the clickable navigation bar.

Help with publishing website templates and creating a menu please?

Hello, I’m new to this website and flash so please bear with me.
I have purchased a website template from istockphoto (example… http://www.istockphoto.com/file_closeup.php?id=631369 ), which is easy to upload pictures on to, but i have a few questions...
I have now uploaded my images on to it, but please can you give me some advise on how to publish it on to the Internet? I have bought my own domain name but I don’t have a clue how to link it to this web template, and I can’t seem to find any specific information.
Also I want to create a menue with 8 different subject categories, each with a separate image gallery and I don’t know how to link them together and list them in a ‘home page’.
If you could give me some tips or a link to some information that would be fantastic!

However, I missed to mention that we have two set of users One is for Finished Goods and another for Spares.
Only Spares users need to be prevented from creating Direct/Manual Sales Orders in Oracle.
As you suggested, if this will be done at Form level, that may Disallow FG users also to create Manula Sales Orders which should not be the case.

Creating a menu and overlay from Motion to DVD Studio Pro

I have created a menu in Motion. My menu plays a short video first before the menu choices come up. After sending it to DVD Studio Pro I noticed that when I burned it I could not access the menu options with my DVD player, only when I played it on my computer and used a mouse.
I tried creating an overlay and using that, but because my buttons do not display right away I am seeing one of the overlay icons right from the beginning.
If there is anyone out there with a suggestions on how I can fix this or create it differently so that I don't have these problems, please let me know!!!

Couple of things, first you need to make sure you assign navigation for the buttons, which is why the remote control on the DVD Player did not work, yet you can mouse over in the computer [Assign Navigation|http://dvdstepbystep.com/buttons07.php] and [a thread|http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?messageID=9134310&#9134310]
As to overlays, buttons will not appear (the highlights) until the loop point of the menu, but if ellements are in the background (video) then they will appear. If you do not want those items (in the background) to appear to the loop point you need to fade it in or otherwise do whatever effect you want in the background video.
