Please allow third party apps to do turn by turn GPS apps

Hi,
I emailed the people at www.garmin.com they have a software called "Garmin Mobile XT" the only one currently allowing Dominican residents to use the GPS map at www.ola.com.do, Garmin says that the current iPhone SDK won't allow third party apps to do turn by turn apps. Please change the SDK to allow third party apps to do this or talk with the people at www.ola.com.do so that the GPS map can be included in the google map's database. Thanks.

  • When installing third party software, how do I temporarily turn off the factory installed virus sw and firewall?

when installing third party software, how do I temporarily turn off the factory installed virus sw and firewall?  Is it necessary on a Mac to do so?  I come from the Windows world and am still in the learning curve on the Mac.

Correct.  I have not installed ANY other software for anti-virus, etc.  I want to install a Synch app for my HTC phone to sych with MS Outlook 2011 installed on my Mac.    HTC will not synch with it otherwise.  That was really the basis for my question....if installing a non Apple app can be done without messing with factory settings on the Mac.  In Windows I remember that I needed to disable Norton and the Firewall in order for installation to occur.
    Thanks.

  • Cannot check Allow Third-Party Content from Global Storage Settings panel.

I cannot check the box that says Allow   Third-Party Content To Store Data On Your Computer in the Global Storage Settings panel. I have seen many other people with this issues but they have either been unresolved or the resolutions to the problems do not work for me.
    I am running
    Windows XP SP2 32bit
    Firefox 3.6.6 32 bit
Can somebody please help me resolve this issue?

When you open Windows Explorer, type %appdata% into the address bar, and it will take you to the location.
On Windows XP this is usually C:\Documents and Settings\[username]\Application Data
From there go down to the 'Adobe' and 'Macromedia' folders and delete the 'Flash Player' folder in each.

After upgrading to Java 7 up21, I now need to enable the Internet Explorer security option to "Allow third-party browser extensions" to allow the Java login applet at the DCO Jabber site. How can I increase verbose logging in Java to help explain what has caused this change? Thanks.

  • Not seeing "allow third-party Flash content to store..." in Flash 10.0.45.2

    Hi,
I just upgraded to Flash player 10.0.45.2. I would like to review and choose my privacy settings.
When I go to the Settings manager through the online interface, I do not see the "Allow thrid-party Flash content to store..." as expected and as described in
    http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/546/4c68e546.html
    Instead, I see
I want to set up my settings to allow to store information from the original domain, but NOT from third-party domains, how do I do this?
The first choice is in French and says :
'Allow Flash content to store information on your computer". There is no reference whatsoever to "third-party" information.
Is this normal? Is this a translation mistake? Does the first choice there apply to ALL information (so-called Flash cookies), from the originated domain AND from the third-party domains?
Second question: I can't seem to find how to see the Settings manager in English...
I am using Firefox, but I tried with Opera, and the Settings manager looked the same: no choice for "third-party" thinsg either.
My OS is Windows XP SP2 (French), but all my browsers are English, so I'd like to see the Flash settings in English, too.
Thanks for any help, I really want to block the third-party cookies, but not the others.

    Hi again,
Thanks for your time... but I'm still stuck.
    The Language problem
I CAN change the language settings for the Global site, but the Flash Player settings 'live" window is ALWAYS in French, no matter what I do and which language I choose.
    The Third-Party Settings problem:
    As you said:
    In English, the choices are:
    Never ask again
Allow third party content to store data on your computer
Store common Flash components to reduce download times
    In French, the choices are:
Ne plus demander (This is a correct translation of "Never ask again")
Autoriser le contenu Flash à enregistrer des données sur votre ordinateur : This is an INCOMPLETE OR WRONG translation, the french sentence means "Allow content to store data on your computer". There is NO MENTION of third-party here.
Stocker les composants Flash courants pour réduire la durée de téléchargement. This is a correct translation of "Store common Flash components to reduce download times.
So, am I to think that if I uncheck the second choice, I will disallow third-party stuff (as in the English sentence), or will it disallow ALL content to be stored (as in the French sentence), regardless of third-party or not?
This is very important for me, and for all the French speaking Flash player users.
I can't believe there is such a mistake in a product used as widely as the Flash player is...
The Website Storage settings are per website settings, I do not want to have to accept/deny each website individually, I want a global policy for disabling third-party cookies, exactly as the second choice in English is designed for.
Unfortunately, the French second choice (apparently) doesn't say the same, as it allows/disallows ALL contents.
Could someone from the Adobe translation team (or equivalent) help to solve this, maybe?
Regards and thanks for any help.

    re:  http://www.macromedia.com/support/documentation/en/flashplayer/help/settings_manager03.htm l
Found this info recently, try this:
Note for IT / Tech Support staff: If you are in a Windows domain login environment, such as a workplace network, there could be a conflict with the location of the Desktop directory. Some users have reported success by creating an empty folder named "Desktop" in their home directories (so if you already have a "Desktop" folder in your home directory, this probably will not help).
In explorer, go to your home directory location:
    XP: C:\Documents and Settings\WINDOWS-USERNAME\
    Vista: C:\Users\WINDOWS-USERNAME\
Create a new folder named "Desktop" in that location. Then try enabling Flash Local Storage again, as above.

  • "Allow Third-Party Flash Content to Store" possible as a Linux user?

    Hello,
is it possible to activative the option "Allow Third-Party
Flash Content to Store" on the "Global Storage Settings" panel if
you are starting a webbrowser as a normal user under Linux? At the
moment it is only possible for me if I start my Firefox (or Opera,
Konqueror) with root priviileges. Do I have to change the rights of
a certain folder or something like that?
The reason why I ask is that I noticed that you can activate
sound in YouTube Videos only if you activate Flash Cookies.
My Flash Player version is the current one, version 9. I use
Kubuntu 7.10, if it is of any importance.
    Thanks for any help
    UltraBreyten

OK, I solved it. There is a hidden .macromedia folder in the
home folder, where the youtube sound settings are stored.
Everything in the macromedia folder was set as root. I simply
deleted the .macromedia folder, it was recreated with user rights
when I came back to youtube.

  • Not allowing third party cookies

I have absolutely no idea what happened, but flash player isn't allowing third party cookies on my mac. I've uninstalled re-installed and took plug-ins out of the internet plug-ins folder to see if any of them were conflicting with flash player and still no results. The worst part is that on the global settings panel inside of the adobe website it wont allow me to change any settings. Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Another interesting fact is that flash works fine under other users. At this point it seems like the only solution is to transfer all my files to another account. Does anyone have any ideas what is causing this?

  • Cant allow third party content

hi, i can't seem to select allow third party content on my toshiba windows 7 laptop........any solutions???

  • I can't enable/disable "allow third party cookies" with the new Firefox preferences

The newly revised preferences for Firefox--specifically 'Privacy' and 'Security' don't appear to have an option for me to enable and disable third-party cookies. I don't allow them generally, but need to enable them in order to use my bank's billpay. PLEASE--if anyone has an answer to this, I'm trying to find out how to enable and disable third-party cookies, as I did with the previous Firefox preferences.

In the History section of Options -> [[Options window - Privacy panel|Privacy]] , is the dropdown set to 'Firefox will: ''Use custom settings for History'' '?
This should reveal the granular settings for saving cookies and forms, etc.

  • Adobe Engineering - Please Help Third Party I/O Partners

    Hello Adobe,
I would like to ask that you take a close a look at the state of third party hardware I/O integration from you partners AJA, MATROX, and Blackmagic Design. If you browse any of the forums within the last few months, the common thread is that CS-5 and CS-5.5 is not working correctly with any of these hardware cards. I am certain that they did not try to put out an inferior product or bad drivers. There has been some speculation that the SDK kit provided to these vendors is not up to par. I am not a hardware or software engineer so I cannot speak to that speculation. What I can say is that in my own experience, I have felt the pain of all of these other users across all the different forums. If all three hardware vendors are having difficulties making their products work then I start to look at a higher level.
Adobe..can you please get your best engineers together for a summit with the best engineers from the three partners AJA, MATROX, and Blackmagic Design and get this figured out. We want to use your software professionally, but this is holding us back.
    Thanks
    Ray Tragesser

    Hi Ray,
Thanks for your comments and concerns.  I will pass along your feedback so that it is seen by the relevant contacts around here.
We communicate regularly with our hardware partners, and have been working very closely with them to identify and solve existing bugs, as well as to take advantage of new features (such as the Mercury Playback Engine and closed captioning).
Although I'm not in a position to discuss future, unannounced products, in broad terms we are working on some substantial improvements so that hardware partners provide even higher quality integration.  Rest assured that the team is actively working to improve hardware integration for professional workflows.

  • Allowing third party cookies on safari

I just got my Mac and upgrades my OS to Yosemite. I haven't had to use the website before i downloaded Yosemite so I don't think it has to do with that. I can't find anything about cookies in my settings. My OS is 10.0, don't know about the IOS

    Hi haymitch14,
    Welcome to Apple Support Communities.
It sounds like you’ve recently upgraded your MacBook Air to Yosemite and want to know how to control the way Safari handles cookies. The article linked below will help you find the cookie settings in Safari preferences and explain what they do.

  • Is it true that apple i phone 5 does not allow third party tethering ie connection to my mercedes benz comand online system

    .

I'm having the same issue with a Porsche Cayenne at work.
I have 5 devices paired with it, 2 iPhones of unknown type and OS, an iPhone 5 running the latest iOS, a Samsung Galaxy S II running ICS and a Blackberry 9700. The SGS2 is mine, the iPhone 5 belongs to my boss, the BB 9700 is his boss's phone and the unknown iPhones belong to our customer and his wife who test drove the car and now want to buy it complete with the Online Services function with syncs Emails and SMS. It falls to me to get this working.
In the Device Details option of the Porsche PCM bluetooth menu it lists the bluetooth profile that are active.
The BB 9700 lists AVRCP, A2DP, HFP, SIM-Acess and DUN. The BB syncs email and SMS.
The SGS2 lists AVRCP, A2DP. HFP and SIM-Acess. The SGS2 sync SMS but no email.
All 3 iPhones list AVRCP, A2DP and HFP. No Emails or SMS syncing.
iPhone supports MAP (Messaging Access Profile) since iOS 6.0 but not SIM-Acess profile.
I understand that syncing SMS and Email only works when pairing is initiated from the car, not the phone. Pairing initiated from the phone gives priority to HFP (Handsfree Profile) which locks out syncing messages.
I also understand that repeated pairng improves the connection, though I haven't had time to test this extensively.
Does anyone know if the Porsche PCM supports PAN and MAP with iOS 6.0?
    TIA
