Please - any suggestions to get a Minolta QMS 2060 to work with S.L.?

I have 2 printers connected to my mac which were both working fine before the Snow Leopard upgrade this morning. I had the latest version of 10.5 installed previously.
These printers are:
Minolta QMS 2060 laserprinter (connected through ethernet router network)
Epson 1290 inkjet (connected through direct USB)
The Epson 1290 connected fine after upgrade to S.L. Automatically found in the printer preferences box and the driver configured instantly to Gutenprint v5.2.3. So far no real problem there.
However the Minolta cannot be seen in the same Print & Fax window. I've tried restarting both mac and printer but the printer cannot be found by adding a new printer. I've also tried connecting via the I.P. address (using Internet Printing Protocol) using both generic and QMS2060 PPDs. Here a printer icon is generated but once I try to print anything it cannot find the printer and puts the print job on hold. I've also connected the printer direct via the ethernet cable to the mac, with again the same problem.
I've searched these forums and not found anything that would seem to fix the problem directly. I've also sent emails to Konica Minolta but am not holding my breath for a response as unfortunately this excellent printer is discontinued. I've looked on the Apple site to see how I can record this problem with Apple, but it seems my only way of mentioning this problem is on these forums.
Any help would be greatly appreciated. Look forward to any suggestions.

I realised I had to change the I.P. address of the printer. This was a mission in itself as Minolta has all but given up on the QMS range of printers so I couldn't find much on their site. However a bit of digging around unearthed the manual for the printer, and I reconfigured the printers I.P. address to be close to my router address.
I then found another site that mentioned Minolta printers should have the suffix /ps after the address if networking via ethernet (this was posted pre Snow Leopard).
So after making these two changes I finally got the printer to work using the LPD window. I then reinstalled the QMS driver that was deleted by the Snow Leopard install, and added that as my print driver. All works well so far. 1 day lost but in the end it was worth the stress!!!

I then went to this site to change the name of the printer to something a little more human friendly.

Click on printers on the top menu, then click on your printer name, select modify from the drop down menu, and then you are able to change the name and location to something a little friendlier than I.P. addresses.
Solved!
I'm now going to redownload the Epson drivers as it seems from another thread that there was no real need for Snow Leopard to delete these old drivers at all...
