Please Apple...Fix the Safari crash problem.

iphone 3g crashes or sudden quits very often, the problem is not solved even on version 2.0.1. One of the main function of iphone is the internet and Apple simply cannot deliver it with stabilty. Very disappointed.

I was one of the first to get an iPhone and have since had 3 2Gs and now a 3G. The last 2G I broke fell about one foot out of a beach bag onto the face. I asked why Apple won't sell a warranty to cover screens after a key went through the screen of my second one while it was in my pocket. There were three others with broken screens replacing theirs that day. Anyone, I guess I should know why Apple won't sell even an expensive warranty for screens.
The point being is I have had these phones since the beginning and I have gone through a few of them. They all had a tendancy to crash or lock up, but not daily like my 3G. Just two nights ago a stranger complained to me about her phone starting to get slow and lock up now that she has had it a while.
I am in Florida on the coast and the nearest Apple store is 4 to 5 hours away. I just drove 7 hours last week to a counter appointment to replace my broken 2G because they would not sell me a replacement for cracked 2G over the telephone. Not cool about having to waste two days and several hundred dollars just to make an appointment so I could replace another cracked iPhone. I really don't want to spend another two days driving time, gas, hotel and etc. Just so they can tell me why my phone locks up and is so slow. These are just phones and they are just phone salesmen. Silly. Much easier to see me and I am a doctor.

Did Apple Fix the White Spot Problem (in older PBs)?

Did Apple fix the white spot problem in the older 15" PBs? By fix, I actually mean, in production - not having to send it in to have it fixed. If I'm going to buy an last generation, discounted PB it will need to be flawless.

We cannot go back very far away in the past in this forum, because posts are erased after a few months. I cannot personnaly answer the question whether or not the white spot where frequent or not, but it seems that there is for the moment very few posts talking about white spot in Jan/feb revision of PB15".
As I told you before mine from August has a very tiny white spot, that I will check carefully in the future.
If I can give you some advices :
Buy a refurbished PB less than one year old (Feb rev). Call Applestore and ask them if you can buy an Applecare on it, it will cover it for the next two years after the end of the warranty. Check the possibility to send it back if it does not work properly.
If your powerbook has no white spot appearing before 3 years of use, the probability it appears afterwards would be very low IMHO.

Has Apple fixed the audio encoding problem?

As many other people seems to have experienced before me, iDVD6 stops working when encoding audio. Everything works before that step but when it reaches the "Audio Encoding" sequence iDVD stops working. Did Apple fix the problem? What else can we do?

I followed your advice and restarted at 6:00 pm last night - this morning it was still going on - over 13 hours! The funny thing this time is that I got the 'rainbow ball' encoding audio at the beginning of the 3rd step, 'Processing movie' after only 1-1/2 hour. The last time I burned the same project, I got the 'rainbow ball' encoding audio message at the end of the 3rd step - in other words, it had processed the entire movie (which took 6 hours) and then began the encoding audio phase. I'm letting it run while I'm at work, but do you think there might be something else going on?
Here are some facts which apply to both times that I have tried burning the DVD project:
1. I have iMovie project (26Gb) on my external drive with about 15 Gb available space
2. and the iDVD project is on the internal hard drive with about 50 Gb of available space
The reason I moved the iMovie project to the external drive was because I would have only had about 24 Gb of available space if I left it on the internal drive (less than the movie itself).
Which drive is doing all the encoding and needing the most space - the internal or the external? I was assuming it was the internal drive. Should I move the iMovie project back to my internal drive and start over?

Will Apple Fix The Safari 5.0 Crash Problem Ever!!!!!!!

I have had this Sarfari 5.0 crash problem ever since the update has come out. I see hundreds of forum members having the same problem. the forum moderators are doing their best to help them to solve the crashing problems but to no end the crashing problems are still occuring. I have about 10-15 crashes daily. I send all the reports back to Apple after every crash. Looks like Apple would get the message! What it is going to take before Apple decides to fix this problem for good? Hey Apple, how about an update to fix this problem!!!!!!!

If not, then uninstall your current copy of Flash, then reinstall new then repair permissions.
Uninstall Flash
Install the most recent version of Flash here.
Now repair permissions.
Launch Disk Utility. (Applications/Utilities) Select MacintoshHD in the panel on the left, select the FirstAid tab. Click: Repair Disk Permissions. When it's finished from the Menu Bar, Quit Disk Utility and restart your Mac. If you see a long list of "messages" in the permissions window, it's ok. That can be ignored. As long as you see, "Permissions Repair Complete" when it's finished... you're done. Quit Disk Utility and restart your Mac.

Fixing the Safari scrolling problem

Judging by the number of posts on this subject, this seems to be a common problem. I have also seen various ways that different people have solved the problem for themselves. Well, let me add another method that just worked for me: turning OFF the Safari extensions. I did that, and I can now scroll again. Here's how to do it: Apple icon in menu bar>Preferences>Extensions>OFF. For me, that solved the problem, but there is still more to do. I have ten Safari Extensions, and now my job is to find the one(s) that cause(s) this problem. This is something I know I can do, but there's no hurry. A great start for the day.

Why won't Apple fix the wifi connectivity problem with the iMac and new OS instead of just havin us go through hours of useless mock fixes!

I have spent hours with apple care about this problem with wifi connectivity. According to all the posts I'm not alone. I love my new IMAC
but i'll be glad to go back to my PC just so I can get my email without all the headaches. It seems that Apple has lost interest in
the IMAC and all of the problems associated with the new OS.

Keep in mind that ASC is where people go to get help, so yes, you are seeing reports of people who are having WiFi connection issues. But while it might seem like there are lots of people having trouble, given the sheer number of iMacs in use, it is a very small number. Also keep in mind that WiFi isn't totally under Apple's control. There are dozens of WiFi routers. Even worse, the manufacturers of WiFi routers often release firmware upgrades to fix flaws without ever informing the consumer. And just to add to the confusion, while WiFi 801.2 n routers have been sold for several years, for most of that time there was no agreed upon standard!
So if you'd like help, first, what router do you have and have you checked the vendor site to see that it has the latest firmware?

sounds like 3rd party music then..
SO i would delete them from the itunes library and re add them to the itunes library.
TO test this out you should delete ONE SONG or ONE ALBUM and test that ONE SONG or ONE ALBUM only to see if they sync to the device..
are you using a windows or mac? Updated itunes?

You might have a 3rd party plugin that isn't compatible with Safari 4.0.4. Go here for help...

If you are using a USB hub, try disconnecting and restarting with just your keyboard and mouse connected.
From the Safari Menu Bar, click Safari / Empty Cache. When you are done with that...
from the Safari Menu Bar, click Safari / Reset Safari. Select the top 5 buttons and click Reset.

Turn off Private Browsing.
Tap "Private" on Safari Screen to disable Private Browsing. When top of screen is white, Private Browsing is off.

Has Apple fixed the problem with 4G cellular connection on the iPad 3?

Cellular connection problem was for US connection in Houston, Texas. Have an iPad 2 which functions perfectely on Wi-Fi or 3G. Bought an iPad 3 strictly to get the increased speed from the 4G LTE connection. Purchased on with the AT &T cellular. Wi-Fi functions fine, but 4G LTE connection is terrible when it connects at all. Went to AT&T and they said no problems with service in my area, but never get over 2 bars and most times, Web pages load very slow or will hang and not load at all. Went to the Apple store and they said it was AT&T network problem and went to AT&T and they said no problems with their service. Went to the Apple communities forum here and discovered that many people were having the same problems with the 4G LTE cellular connection on their iPad 3's. Didn't seem to matter if it was AT&T or Verizon. So I decided that I would just return the unit and wait for Apple to fix the problem. Hence my question.

I have provided some steps below that may help with the Caller Id issue you are experiencing.
Try completing a soft reset on the device. A soft reset would be powering the device off and pulling out the battery. Once the battery is removed, place it back in and power the device back on.
Dial *228 and send. Once dialed, listen for the recording to prompt you for option 1 and select option 1. The phone should complete its programming within a minute.
Ensure you are using the area-code and 7 digit number format (ex. 9999951212)
Try removing the contact and re-adding it.

Do i need a new drive or should apple fix the problem!

since i upgraded to osx lion i keep getting an error code 0x80020022 every time i try and burn a dvd doesn't matter what type of program i use the some results error code.. 0x80020022 . does this mean a new drive is needed ?.. or bearing in mine it worked perfectly before lion was in stalled should apple fix the problem?
i wish i hadn't bothered with lion..

Restore your bootable backup/clone or Time Machine of your previous Snow Leopard installation and see if the problem persists.
