Please assist with installation (Adobe Reader); currently receiving installation error messages

Please assist with Adobe Reader installation.  Currently receiving installation error messages 1) #1311 "source file not found" and 2) #13050 "raise without handler".

Last idea I have: try using the MSI installer http://ardownload.adobe.com/pub/adobe/reader/win/11.x/11.0.00/en_US/AdbeRdr11000_en_US.msi

  • I am unable to print PDF's using either Adobe Reader or Safari. In Adobe Reader, I get an error message from my Cannon printer that says, "/usr.libexec/cups/filter/pstocupsraster failed". In Safari, I can only print the first page of a PDF.

To try to resolve this problem, I have done the following actions.
    1 - I have run Disk Warrior.
    2 - I have repaired permissions.
3 - I have deleted all plist that are either Cannon or Adobe.
4 - I have downloaded and installed the lastest versions of Adobe Reader and the Cannon printer drivers.
I am still unable to print PDF's.
In Safari, I can print only the first page. In a multipage PDF, Safari only seems to recognize the first page.
In Adobe Reader, I get an error message from my printer: "/usr/libexec/cups/filter/pstocupsraster failed".
Any help would be greatly appreicated!

I've recently updated from Adobe Reader X to Adobe Reader XI using Adobe Cleaner and installer from the website. • Adobe Reader 10.1.2 error message

I"m using an iMac OS 10.7.3 and Adobe Acrobat 10.1.2.  When I attempt to open an internet-downloaded Microsoft dmg installer I get the error message:  "There was a error opening this document.  This file could not be found."  Both Apple and MS techs are stumped.  Any suggestions?

    I will try this.  Thanks.
It strikes me that I should first "uninstall" the 2 A/R apps I have on my computer before I try to install the one downloaded from the site you suggest.  However, I could find no "uninstaller" associated with either of these now resident A/R apps.  Is there something in particular I need to do to uninstall these?
As to your comment about a MS installer for Mac OS, the installer pertains to MS wireless keyboard 2000 that is Mac compatible.  And as to why this somehow incorporates Adobe Reader I can only speculate that there's a document that has to be opened in the installation process and it is this "opening" that is getting hung up.

Try the offline installer from http://get.adobe.com/reader/enterprise/

I have tried many things to try to install it and I have been unsucessful. Please help I have windows 8 64bit.

This did not resolve my issue, it actually made things worse. I did what
you had told me to do below, and it did not work. Tried to access the
internet to respond back to you and my computer was not able to reach the
internet. Tried reaching adobe support and not was able to, even tried
calling was on the phone for 20 minutes and no one answered. I was not able
to re install windows. Contacted Asus from another computer and they were
not able to help me reinstall windows They had asked me to ship my computer
back to them, due to them not being able to resolve the issue and help me
reinstall windows. I luckily had a backup on my external hard drive and was
able to reinstall windows 8. Spent over an hour and half trying to fix
that. Here I am still not able to install adobe reader. I was very unhappy
with what I was told to do and it gave me this issue.
    ·  Open an Administrator command prompt: Right-click Start > All Programs >
Accessories > Command Prompt and select Run As Administrator. Click Allow
    for the elevation prompt
    ·  In the command prompt, type the command below:
    fsutil resource setautoreset true C:\
The line above assumes that C: is the drive in which Vista is installed. If
it is installed on another drive like D:, change the drive letter
    appropriately.
    ·  Restart the system.
    ·  Install Acrobat or Adobe Reader again.

  • Problems with opening Adobe Reader 9 or pdf files

    Hi,
Can someone please help me resolve this problem?  I had no problem using Adobe Reader 8 but since removing Adobe Reader 8 and download the updated Adobe Reader 9, I cannot open any pdf files or the Adobe Reader 9 (on desktop) without receiving the following error message:
"Adobe Reader 9.3 has encountered a problem and needs to close".  I tried several times to download and reinstall Adobe Reader 9 without any success.  Any help will be appreciated.  Thanks.

    Hi Michael,
Thanks for coming back to me.  Remember when I've received the error message previously "Error 1327. Invalid Drive: E:\",  I've decided to try inserting my flash drive into the E drive (since I've downloaded the Adobe file previously from my flash drive to my desktop pc) and then try removing the Adobe Reader 9.3.4 and it works!!!!  I am now working with the earlier version ie. Adobe Reader 8 which works fine.  I would like to try again to download the Adobe 9.3.4 but have previously tried 3 times and failed.  What else can I try to do to download, install and run this latest version without experiencing the same problem over again? Thanks.

  • Help with opening Adobe Reader and downloading updates

I can not open Adobe .pdf files any longer (this started yesterday, prior to that I could open adobe files).
When I double click a .pdf file I get this notice on my screen: Windows cannot access the specified device path or file. You may not have the appropriate permission to access file.
So I went to the Adobe download site to download a new copy of Adobe.  When I start the download I get this on the screen:  The instruction at "0x0e3a0068" referenced memory at "0x0e3a0068."  The memory could not be written.  Then two options are listed: click OK to terminate or cancel to debug.  So I click on cancel and I get this on my screen: Internet Explorer has closed this webpage to help protect your computer.   A malfunctioning or malicious addon has caused I.E. to close this webpage.
I don't have AVG running, I do have avast but I've disabled it.  I ran Registry Mechanic and an I.E. erasure program but nothing helps.
I have gone into I.E. and reduced the security level to its lowest state but no joy.
So, any ideas or suggestions on what's the problem and how to overcome it would be appreciated.  Thanks, in advance, for your reply.  Jim R.

Hi Mike..tried that as well but no joy.  A friend of mine was looking at it all and noticed that it was an I.E. thing as far as not letting me redownload the reader so I went to Mozilla Firefox and I could download a new version but....whenever I attempt to open a .pdf file I get that message, "Windows can not open the specified device, path or file. You man not have the appropriate permissions to access the item."
Damn...this is irritating as I need to get to some of thos files as I need them for a Journal I'm working on as editor-in-chief.
It all worked just fine last Saturday but starting Monday when I was on my flight out to D.C.  no joy.
    Sigh...Jim R.

Try downloading the trial. It ought to detect that you have a 64-bit system.
You aren't using Vista, are you? PSE 13 requires at least win 7 and I think a few folks with vista have gotten a similar error message on trying to install it.
