Please compare features of CS6 & extended.
This was asked a couple of months ago and the answer was not helpful (download & try them). I've found a comparison tool that shows what's in the bundles and another that shows what's different in the different upgrades, but not one that show CS6 & CS6 Extended.
I've also found various discussions about extended use, but they didn't clearly spell out the differences. I get the concept that Extended is about 3D, while CS6 is 2D, but that's about it. Any specifics available?

Problems with 3D features in CS6 Extended
Hi,
When I attempt to extrude some text in CS6, there is no ground plane, no widgets, no viewing panel and none of those fancy grab handles that are meant to be there. The move, scale and rotate for 3D tools have a 'no entry' sign when I attempt to use them on the model, even though it has extruded.
Any suggestions as to what I'm doing wrong?

I find Catalyst 12.6 or 12.8 do a good job with Photoshop's 3D rendering, with maybe a slight nod toward 12.6 as being more stable (I have a Radeon 5670).

Distorting a graphic in CS6 Extended
I have a graphic which I need to distort to follow the shape of a pen. I have tried warpping it but it begins to mess with the flow of the type. I have CS6 Extended and am trying to come up with a solotion that works. I need the graphic itself shaped and on its own layer, not applied to a created cylinder. Attached is a simple example of what I am trying to do. I am very knowledgeable in Photoshop but Extened is new to me. I have looked for videos show how to do this but haven't found one yet. Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks,If you want to dip your toes in the 3D features of CS6 Extended, it's quite easy to map the graphic onto a cylinder and produce a transparency that can be coloured as required.
This final image is a black PNG with transparency which you can blur, colour, dodge and burn, or do whatever you like. -
Photoshop CS6 (extended) Video card minimum requirements.
Can you tell me if my video card is adequate for using the 3D feature in CS6 Extended? The 3D tools don't seem to work. I get the message below. Do I need an updated video card or driver? Let me know if you need more information. Thank You.

You need at least 512 MB of video ram to use 3D.
You go to Photoshop's Help Menu and select System Info. I copied and pasted my video card info and as you can see I don't have enough video ram for 3D and it's dimmed out. No driver update will help.

I have Photoshop CS6 Extended Students and Teachers Edition. when I go into the Filter/Oil paint and try to use Oil Paint a notice comes up "This feature requires graphics processor acceleration. Please Check Performance Preferences and verify that "Use Graphics Processor" is enabled. When I go into Performance Preferences I get a notice "No GPU available with Photoshop Standard. Is there any way I can add this feature to my Photoshop either by purchasing an addition or downloading something?
Does you display adapter have a supported GPU with at least 512MB of Vram? And do you have the latest device drivers install with Open GL support. Use CS6 menu Help>System Info... use its copy button and paste the information in here.

The 3D Features doesn't work on my Photoshop CS6 extended.

I am using Adobe CS6 extended. I can't use my 3d features on creating objects but it can work with creating 3d font text.
When I select the object, the 3D Properties are unable to click on any function

Adobe tested the following video cards before the release of Photoshop CS6. This document lists the video card by series. The minimum amount of RAM supported on video cards for Photoshop CS6 is 256 MB. Photoshop 13.1 cannot display 3D features if you have less than 512 MB of VRAM on your video card.
Important: This document is updated as newly released cards are tested. However, Adobe cannot test all cards in a timely manner. If a video card is not listed here, but was released after May 2012, you can assume that the card will work with Photoshop CS6.
Adobe tested laptop and desktop versions of the following cards. Be sure to download the latest driver for your specific model. (Laptop and desktop versions have slightly different names.)

Can someonee please assist me in my Adobe Photoshop CS6 Extended. I keep getting a 'Couldn't Complete Your Request because Dynamic Link is not Available?" Is there a way of getting a software patch for this problem? I thought you didn't need extra software. My software other than that problem works fine.

Photoshop CS6 extended won't import videos, help please?
Before I get to the meat and potatoes (details), I'd like to ask that you don't be an @$$ with your answers, please, if my friend is doing something wrong, don't just say "well, derp, you're doing something wrong", actually tell me what he's doing wrong so I can tell him and he can fix the issue. He'd post but he's having internet issues as of 10 minutes ago.
My friend got Photoshop CS6 extended so he could do a few things with his photos, he also wanted to try out some of the stuff with the video editing, and since it's the extended version, it should (at least in theory) import video, right? Wrong, no matter what format he converts to he gets an error telling him he's using the right kind of document. I have seen the photoshop video editor, my friend has seen the video editor, but we can't get it on his copy of photoshop because he can't get a video to import no matter what format he converts to. Is there a way to fix this or has the promise of video editing in the extended version of photoshop just been a lie? I'm confused, please help.

He can use it for photo but he really wants to try the video editor since he doesn't like movie maker and he can't afford any other video editing software right now.To see if there is something deeper see if the video plays in Bridge.

i have purchased photshop cs6 extended, recieved my serial number, downloaded the 2 files that i was told to( the .7z and .exe),
but when i click on the .exe file it tells me that ' the file archive part os cs6 is missing and that both parts need to be in the same folder' and to download the files. both files the .7z and exe files ARE in the same folder. this is extremely frustrating. i am running windows8/8.1 on a laptop. please help.Hi Tantelunda,

i am using windows 7 on an HP Pavilion dv6-6108. I purchased Photoshop CS6 extended. The guy said it is a full Retail version and "self installs" the serial number and activates. It doesn't fully install into my control panel programs, instead it puts 2 icons on the desk top for Photoshop, but they have a "install shield" on them. I can't update (the update and register features are grayed out.under the help menu. The program opens, but everytime it does, it brings up the window asking if you want to let this program make changes on the computer. Supposedly the serial number that auto-loads is inscribed on the inner ring of the disk, but you can't really tell what they are. So I have no way to know what it is. Lots of other odd ball stuff that makes me doubt the genuineness of the product. What can I do to establish real or fake? And to get it registered like my other Adobe products.
