Please Confirm: Can a user change options in Viewer?
In Discoverer 4i Viewer, can the user change options such as show null values as blank and warn me if the query will take longer than 'n' seconds?

Yes.
Click on the 'Options' icon in the upper right hand frame of the window (not the presentation options link above the worksheet, but rather the Viewer options).
This will let you set both the query governor and null settings you are interested in.

What locations are you seeing these "problems"? If the satellite photos are older or not as clear, you may see some of what you describe. Take a look at one of the major cities and see if they are also appearing as you describe. Someplace like New York, London, Paris. Those are among the cities that seem to be updated most frequently.
Incidentally, the maps are web/cloud based and not contained within the maps app on your iPad, so regardless of the version of your app, you will still get the most current map available. -

With Multiple Users--Can One User Change The Download Location of iTunes?
Hi Everyone--
We have separate user accounts on our computer so that my dh and I can each have our own iTunes accts. However, we've run out of room on our C: drive. Now I know you can move where iTunes downloads--either external hd or the D: drive. But if I move where my iTunes downloads to, will it mess up where his downloads to? I'd really hate to mess up or merge our downloads.

Both of your itunes preferences are separate. If you change yours, it will not affect his.
My advice is to consolidate your library to wherever you want it, and then consolidate his. If you just move the files around in Win Explorer, iTunes will still be looking for them on C: and not be able to play them.

I have been asked to do something with Captivate 2 that I am
not sure can be done.
Can a quiz be set up so that a user can go back to a
previously answered question (after it has been submitted) and
change their answer to that question and re-submit the answer? If

TPKEnable the web server and then enable web services, and enable user password changes. (Details vary by the OS X Server version.)
There are other mechanisms available, such as allowing the user to log into the server via ssh. That assumes the user is comfortable with or can be provided the sequence to reset their password via passwd or other local tools. -
Can external users change their language, time zone, and locale settings?

We’re migrating our hosts from WebEx cloud to our on-prem solution right now (CWMS 1.5.1.323.A).
We’ve learned that CWMS 1.5 does not provide an online address book where hosts could customize language, time zone, and locale settings for their external attendees.
Do external users have any chance at all to change their language, time zone and locale settings individually?

"external users" are those participants, who do not have an LDAP account in our deployment, since they are not intendet to act as hosts: our stakeholders, partners, customers, clients.
It looks, as if these people would stick to the systems' default language / time zone / locale.
We are wondering if there might be a CWMS-component like this:

Hi all, I've just built my first fluid grid site with Dreamweaver CC, just wondering what is the easiest way to give an option to the user to view the desktop version on a mobile device (so they can zoom-in and pinch around and get to see what would be shown on a desktop). My mobile version of the site is a lot different to the desktop. I've kept all the original code structure, css, media quries and use of boilerplate etc intact from the original dreamweaver cc template. If someone could please show the best way to do this would be great
Hi Ben, yes I know but I come across people who insist on using the desktop version of sites because they are more familiar with the layout of the buttons and dont want to relearn etc, I come across this many times on sites I visit myself actually where I don't have time to relearn the navigation of the site because I know the desktop version so well, if in a rush etc.
Hi Mary Blight its definatley possible, I mean I could create a new css file with desktop version only css and use jquery to change the mobile css to this new css file when a user clicks "view desktop button", its just that I must have over 2000 lines of css and about 200 classes thats properties are spread over the 3 different media queries (with different inhertence), and I really don't want to have to manually go through each if I have to.
Was hoping I might be able to use some view port meta tags like how apple does on their devices

my pc (OS Windows Vista) has 3 different users. today i closed my session and casually log on with another user, when i opened the browser i had the option to restore my last session so i did it and surprisingly it opened the last session (including the inbox of my email) of my administrator account. so, what should i do if i don't want to have more privacy?
Don't change the permissions on the Home folder or you might end up with various issues.
Open the Terminal and type this command:ls -ale /Users/username The folder with a single . at the end is your home folder. It should look like this drwxr-xr-x+ and the Access Control Lists (ACLs) that it prints below the home folder should be: 0: group:everyone deny delete
If you create a folder directly inside of your home folder, it will inherit the permissions of the home folder, except it won't use the same ACLs. You would need to change the permissions to match the other folders. The default permissions and ACLs are:ls -ale /Users/testuser/

ALV issue - capturing user changes in editable fields using custom button?
Hi,
I created a custom button in ALV tool bar. And also in my ALV grid I have couple of fields Editable option. User can change values for these 2 fields.
My question is -
After changing values for these editable fields(more than 1 record) , user will click on custom button and then I have to update all the user changed values in to my internal table(lt_tab) and then I have to process logic.
Problem is when user click on Custom button in ALV tool bar it is not having the changed values in lt_tab table.
Only when user clicks some thing on ALV grid records or fields then it is getting all the changed values in to lt_tab.
Can any one tell me how I can get changed values when user clicks on custom button?
1. Can we place custom button in ALV Grid? instead of ALV tool bar?
or
How I can capture user changes when they click on custom button?

On my computer, I am not able to navigate to any sort of page that allows me to change my phone line's data allowance without having to change my entire plan to a Share Everything plan. Every time I go up top to the My Verizon tab and select "Change Minutes, Text, or Data," I get redirected to a page that simply shows my current plan, and then suggests that I change to a Share Everything plan. Why are there no options in my 'Current Plan' details that allow me to add or reduce data allowances?
I have found that I can accomplish this via the MyVerizon app on my phone, but I really want to know why I'm not given the option to do this on my computer. Customers should not feel forced to change plans simply because some web site features have been removed or relocated. Please re-establish these plan changing options, or provide a link to their new web site location.I don't remember exactly what the 'Change Minutes, Text, or Data' page used to look like, but I'm fairly certain that it has been changed since the last time I tried to look at it. I used to visit the page and be able to change data settings on individual lines very easily. Now I have no options to change data or minutes in my current plan. The only way to change my plan at all on the web site is to select a new share plan, which I am not currently committed to do.

1. Is experience defintion the only way of defining a different look & feel including navigation for a set of users?
2. Can a user be part of two experience definitions? If yes, which experience definition he will see? Can the user have option to switch between two experience definitions that he is part of?

You can use, for example, the same Exp Def but different communities, so look and feel will be still different.
Exp Def is a kind of TOP LEVEL portal object where you can define differences for look and feel. For example, this is the place where you can define different NAVIGATION or STYLES.
But it doesn't mean that Exp Def is the only place to do this. You still may want to have the same style but different portlets on default community page for different group of user. Even for navigation you can not say that Exp Def is the only place to have different navigations. For example, you can use the same Exp definition and turn off portal navigation, then you can use canvas portlet as navigation for different communities. So you may have 2 different navigations for the same Exp Def. At the same time you can still choose different way and create 2 Exp Def and use 2 different navigation. What I want to say is that you can reach the same results applying different ways.
2. Can a user be part of two experience definitions?.
Yes.
If yes, which experience definition he will see?Depends of the Exp Def rules. The first rule that validate to "true" will be applied. For example, let's say you have user that belong to group "A" and you have 2 Exp Def rules both setup as rule condition for group A:
1) Rule 1 ( user belong to group A ) --> Exp Def 1
2) Rule 2 ( user belong to group A ) --> Exp Def 2
So if this is the only condition for both rules then Rule 1 will be validate to true first, so user will be redirected to Exp Def 1 that is associated with Rule 1. Now if you change sequence of these rules to:
1) Rule 2 ( user belong to group A ) --> Exp Def 2
2) Rule 1 ( user belong to group A ) --> Exp Def 1
user will be redirected to Exp Def 2.
Of course, in real life you are going to have more conditions for rules, this is just simple example.

We discovered in Oracle Directory Manager(in unix is oidadmin), there actualy
column to expiry date.(the default is 60).
We follow this notes in metalink..

Even though the note is for Portal30(release1), we just wangt to try it in our Release 2...

But, when we try to login again in the portal, we can still login...
So, is the function still exist in Release 2?..
If not, why Oracle Portal throw that function away?
Why there still columns in WWSEC_PERSON$ that maybe linked to the password problem?

Implemented UWC, CAL, MSG, ID.... and so on...
Two questions :
How does the user change their password via UWC? They were able to do it via the webmail express... yet they will only be using UWC.
How can the user change or update their contact information that gets posted on the Corporate Directory?
All this with out Admin intervention.

AngelThe UWC uses the Identity Server. The only way for the user to change their password is to login to the Identity Server. The Identity Server provides a web login screen where a user can change their password as well as other LDAP profile attributes. The URL should be something like...
http://<server-name>:<port>/amserver/UI/Login
In our case the server is 'trinity' and Identity Server runs on port 8008. So our URL likes like this.
http://trinity:8008/amserver/UI/Login
It's not linked as a tab to the UWC interface... so we just added a link on our Intranet to provide access to users. -

However, i found that user can change other image file. How can prevent user change the image file? Are there any methodologies can archieve this?

If not and this has to do with the frame icon, simply have the icon packed into the source jar where you can determine access rights... ? The image remains available to the app but is not visible to the user..., at least , the majority of users who don't know what a jar file is.... :)
