Please Continue Making Palm Non-smartphones

Hi, I used to have a good old Palm m100, and later got a Zire 71. I still have the zire 6 years later, but who knows how long it'll last. The trouble is that I don't want a smartphone, with or without a phone plan - I'm happy with using my Palm as an advanced organizer, in addition to the cool apps that I can install. It looks like Palm is slowly moving this type out, because there's only really the Zire 22, Tungsten E2 and TX left on their "Product Support Lifecycle - Current" list. My Zire 71 has been moved off to the Legacy list. I don't need a new Palm yet, but I'm afraid that when I do, there won't be any available. I'm assuming I'm not the only one who doesn't want a smartphone with all its strings attached. I just hope Palm realizes there are still people like us, and continues this product line. I also hope that they keep infrared so that we can use our old accessories (keyboards, etc.).

Apple- as a heavy user of FCS, and a recent purchaser of FCPX-
For the sake of your community of users please continue support of FCP7. I held off on upgrading two machines in my workgroup which are now stranded with FCP6, until issues & features are resolved with the new release.
Necessary features that must be fixed:
I spent half of yesterday and all of today working with FCPX, in spite of the software crashing a minimum on once per hour. Stability is a basic requirement of Pro software.
Inclusions of aspect ratios other than 16:9 or 3:4. thank you for 2k & 4k support, but much of my work requires a 3.15:1 aspect. I'm forced to use legacy software or another party until this is resolved.
I've yet to discover support for capturing live video via HD-SDI. This has always been available via "log and capture" but with the tapeless workflow, is now non-existent. Support for live production should be considered "Tapeless".
This is by no means an exhaustive list, simply my encounters after 36 hours with your product.
I am impressed with:
The simplified interface
Background Rendering
No longer needing to transcode footage
I'm willing to push through the learning curve and find what I'm missing, but at this point i'm a bit disappointed.
You did the right thing for your enthusiast users by making a legacy version of iMovie available during the transition to the current application, please do so for the dedicated professionals who rely on your hardware and software to serve their communities.

This is not an absoulte, but they will probably support at least one more major software upgrade. However the level of QA testing they do for older devices is usally very limited so I would expect to see more bugs over time. The same way that iPhone4 users started having a lot more problems after upgrading than iPhone4s users. Apple puts most of the focus on the newest devices. It should not really matter though. I am still using a first generation AppleTV and it is still working with no active Apple support.

Please Help. Palm Chat not working - Pre wont even turn on

After updating my pre to webos 1.4 the top right hand corner of the device showed the message 'phone offline' and no calls could be sent or received. I clicked the option to erase usb and data. This caused the phone to not start properly. I then proceeded to apply webos doctor. After this a message came up asking to contact palm support as the doctor file didnt work.
Doctoring again shows that the doctor consistently stops at 56%.
Please contact me palm support, this is highly frustrating.

He shouldn't get angry, unless you did something you weren't supposed to it isn't really your fault.
I would try resetting it - making sure to charge it immediately (sounds like the battery is low and it is shutting down automatically). It shuts down to retain some charge on the Lithium-Ion Cells to prevent what is called 'deep discharge', where the batteries go completely dead (it damages them and can cause the batteries to be unable to hold a charge effecti'vely - this is one of the cons of using LION batteries).

Upgrade non-smartphone line to iPhone 4S and then transfer to different phone line on family plan

I am on a family plan where I have a smart phone and my father and mother have normal non-data phones.
My line is not due for an upgrade until June 2012.
A verizon rep told me that I could use my father's upgrade to pre-order and activate an iPhone 4S and then re-activate my father's non-smartphone on his phone # and activate the iPhone 4S on my own phone #.
Once activated on his phone number they will add the Data plan; but once I reactivate his old non-data phone I will no longer need the data plan.
Will this work? I'm not sure the rep I spoke to understood that my father has a non-data phone when she explained this procedure.

If you have an online account with Verizon Wireless, you can transfer the upgrade from one number on your account to another number on your account (for example, transfer the upgrade from your father's phone to your phone).
Sign on to verizonwireless.com. Log in with your user ID and password. Click on My Verizon, and select Upgrade Device. Below each phone on your account, there will be an upgrade device date, and a link to Transfer Upgrade. Click the link and it will ask you which line you want to transfer from, and you can transfer the upgrade to your phone. You won't need to switch the data plan on your father's phone at all.
I just did the same thing on my account to be ready for the new phone tomorrow. Hope this helps!

I would say the advice is pretty spot on
Don't worry too much about the space for the answers, you can simply "Split" the question region any time there's not enough space for the answer and drag the right hand part to the right.
Also there's no need to mute the second track.

how do I send a group message from my iPhone 4S to non-smartphone users?

You can enter multple contacts to send same text message to all, but the iPhone's Group Message feature works with iPhones only that have Goup Messaging enabled on their iPhone.

I have two facebook accounts availible when I click the facebook icon in aperture it tries to log into the disabled account. It doesn't give me any option to continue making an album for the enabled account. Why?

I suppose I could delete it, but the whole point of multiple accounts is so I can post to either. One is mine, one is my wife's. If it is not enabled why would I need to log into it to post to my own account. The system has no problem associating existing albums with my account, I is only failing to allow me to choose only my account to create an new one. It is clearly designed to handle multiple accounts, but seems to have a bug directing it to ask for the password for a disabled account instead of allowing selection of and posting to the enabled one.

Hi everyone.
I have created a form in which the required data gets displayed in the excel (.xls) file on clicking a button.
When i run the form, I am getting error that is FRM-40735: WHEN-BUTTON PRESSED trigger raised unhandled exception ORA-106557.
When i run the form again, I am getting result as expected. It works perfectly fine.
After i log in to the software, only for the first click i get that error. Later it works fine.
So i tried to catch the exact error by putting an exception code that is:

Firefox 8.0 freezes and is very slow. Please continue supporting Firefox 3.6.24 .

I am using Windows Vista , latest updates. I am using Firefox 3.6.24 and I am very satisfied with it. Some months ago, you offered me to download Firefox 4. I had done this. But afterwards, I could no longer see the TV on http://bugu.cntv.cn/ . Other people in China had said the same. I am learning Chinese and therefore do need to have this ChineseTV website. I reinstalled Firefox 3.6.24 and it works very well. Now in November 2011, after you had offered me several times Firefox 8.0, today I had installed Firefox 8.0 twice. But it is defective. Though now, it does play TV on http://bugu.cntv.cn/ . But the vertical scroll bar on the right side and the scroll bars in the middle on the monitor do not move (freezed) except when a website is enlarged on the whole monitor. The other problem is that Firefox 8.0 is slow, it is much slower than Firefox 3.6.24 . Please continue supporting Firefox 3.6.24 . It is better than Firefox 8.0.

The slow / hesitant scrolling problem seems to be an artifact of the database Firefox uses to keep track of where you go, what you do, etc. It uses sqlite databases which get fragmented over time.
There are several fixes:
Some are add-ons and work internally, such as Vacuum Places (search the addons for it).
Some are external. Speedyfox is one I just tried, and found to work quite well. I think it did a better job than Vacuum Places, but requires Firefox to be shut down before it can work properly.
Find Speedyfox using a web search.

Even if you put a credit or debit card on file with iTunes it will still use your balance FIRST.
I would suggest putting a card on file and testing to see if it will allow you to make a purchase, then removing the card from the account after successful download of an item.

Can you upgrade an non smartphone line to the iPhone 5, than move it to an unlimited data line?

Here's what I'm trying to do:
We have three iPhone 4's and two basic phones (5 lines total). I want to upgrade the basic phones to the iPhone 5 with a 2gb option, then when they come, move those phones to the lines that currently have unlimited data, then move the basic phone back to the other lines, and then cancel the 2gb option.
Would that work?
I've been told it would, but then a csr told me it wouldn't. That the data option travels with the phone.
Any thoughts?

Here's my scenario and what I was told.
If anyone is on an older family plan like I am, here's the solution that came straight from Verizon customer service. You can call them to verify.
I'm currentyly on the 1400 minute family plan. Have 2 smartphones (with Grandfathered unlimited data) and 2 basic phones on the plan. We wanted to upgrade and of course like everyone did not want to lose unlimited data. So I called Verizon 3 or 4 times and threatened to leave when finally I got to the right person.
First, you have to be eligible for upgrade. Transfer or use the upgrade for one of the basic phones on the basic phone line. You'll have to go through the whole process of selecting data for that phone etc... Select the minimum for everything. If you order online your total should come to $349 for the 32gb i5 after taxes and fees. Once you receive the iPhone, you'll activate it on the basic phone line. Then turn straight around and reactivate the basic phone on that same line. The plan will go back to a basic plan for that phone and will leave the i5 open to use on any other line on your plan. Then just transfer your phone line to that phone and you're all set. No change in that lines plan, just a change in phone, thus your unlimited data remains.
Double bonus for me, I'm on a promotional $9.99 per month for unlimited data on my line. It doesn't end until Feb. 2013 so I don't loose that either!
Only question I have now after reading other posts and forums is do I actually activate the phone to the basic phone line or once I receive the phone do I activate it on my smartphone line? Seems to be conflicting opinions on this!!

PO order confirmation maked field Non editable

Dear All,
We had just shifted to ECC 6.0. When we create the PO and after that enter the order acknowledegement in confirmation Tab the field like PR, Contract Numebr on line item gets grayed out meand non editable. WHile I had tested the same thing in 4.6C and found that in this version although we enter the Order Acknowledegement in COnfiramtion tab and save the PO the field like PR, Contact number at line item does not get garyed out means it is available for editing also.
Please let me know is there is any settings in Configuration to be done. Or is this is STandard FUnctionality of ECC 6.0. Are there any notes or FAQ notes available on this which states this functionality.
Please reply as earliest as possible.
