Hi,
One of our user got this error when opening a query Please enter valid value for characteristics.
How do I fix this since I couldn't see any errors in SU53 and authourization logs.

We have a mandotory prompt on 0FISCPER for Web I Report . The promt is present in the universe.
The query works fine in Dev , but in Quality it shows the following error

The universe is on BW Query and the BW Query works fine.

We have created report level prompts and facing this issue because we were selecting multiple values for prompts.
Its working fine for single selection. Is there any way to enable multi selection for the particular object at the BW end ?
Or else we have to create the prompts (Single selection) at the universe level.

Encountering Error in webadi : "&Value is invalid. Enter a valid value for the Mapping column &Column"

We are having a custom WebADI, containing a field (Employee Name) which is a LOV.
The LOV has ID : Person ID, Meaning : Employee name, Description : Position Name.
There are multiple records with same Employee name but different Person ID.
If I select an Employee in the LOV which has multiple records (through different IDs), I am getting an error in WebADI:
"Enter a valid EMPLOYEE_NAME.
XX is invalid. Enter a valid value for the Mapping column EMPLOYEE_NAME"
The Query for the LOV is correct and is returning correct records.
Any pointers on this issue highly appreciated.

The problem could be with HR security profile attached to the responsibility from where you are launching the spreadsheet. Check it once.

MSA - creating/changing activity for bp error : enter a valid value for bp

Hello experts,
while using msa with activites, on one client for one bp
I cannot create/change an activity: error:
insert a valid value for bp
This happens only for one bp on this client,
on other clients this bp works fine.
When I look in old activites for this bp, there in activity -> detail
the field bp (hyper link) is not filled.
I think there is a problem with the incorrect bp, but in which tables
can search for this ?

Hi,
I assume that the BP is present in table smokna1 but not available in smokna1sht (anymore).
When creating an activity the BP selection is based on smokna1, but the field/property validation is based on smokna1sht (see error message).
But unfortunately I don't have any idea for now how to download this particular record to this site...

Please enter valid Security Code

My iTunes account wont let me download any apps or update them either because it says that my security code for my card is wrong. I have reentered everything about the card including the security code and it still keeps saying "Please enter valid security code". I'm looking at the security code and I dont know what to do about it. I was going to try and email Apple about it but I cannot find an email address for them and its complicated trying to contact them. How to do I fix this problem or email Apple about it?

I am using MDG 7.0
When I create a Request for "Create ERP Customer",
I then enter data including the sales Area Data and Company Code data
Then Submit
at the following approval step , Sales Area data and CC data is missing.
I get ERROR message "Enter a value for Field BP_GUID"
Please advise what Table or T-code am I missing values for .

I'm trying to test passing in parameter values from the URL. I have RS 2008 . I created an ultrasimple report based on a stored procedure output. There is no validation, No available values, No default values.
I'm trying to run the report like this:
/Reports/Pages/Report.aspx?ItemPath=%2fProduction%2fDBA+Reports%2fTest&iTest=1
I get:
Parameter validation failed. It is not possible to provide valid values for all parameters. (rsParameterError)
the one int parameter is iTestId
The RS log file says the following:

From your description, you want to pass multiple parameters via URL, right? To pass multiple parameters through URL, we can use an ampersand (&) to separate them. For example, I have a report with two parameters p1 and p2. The report is deployed in a
folder on the Report Server. When I navigate to the report on the Report Server, I can see the report URL is http://localhost/ReportServer_SQL2008NEW/Pages/ReportViewer.aspx?%2fFolder%2fReport&rs:Command=Render.
If I need to pass parameters through URL, I can just add &p1=value1&p2=value2 at the end of the URL and the entire URL would be http://localhost/ReportServer_SQL2008NEW/Pages/ReportViewer.aspx?%2fFolder%2fReport&rs:Command=Render&p1=value1&p2=value2

Force a user to enter a value for a parameter.

Hi,
I have a report with a bunch of parameters and I want to force the user to enter values for two parameters amongst all of them. Like for example when the user doesn't select values for those 2 parameters he should get a dialog box saying "please enter value for xyz parameter" or something like that, which will force the user to enter a value for the parameters before he can see the report.
Please let me know if BI Publisher can do this.

Error in BP: insert valid value for bp

Hello experts,
we use msa 50sp11 and it works fine, but sometimes
we have problems with creating/changing activitis to a bp:
error in BP: insert valid value for bp - error 2007 mtbfll
This happens after the user have made some changes to the bp and
replicated it. Then sometimes we get this error.
On other client with the same bp, there I do not get this error althoug the changes are there too.
When I then download an extract 'customer hierarchy' to the affected client, then
the user can work with the bp without problems again.
Does anybody know what there the problem could be ?

I am so pleased to see this post on the forum.
We have been having exactly the same issue intermittently since upgrading to SP11 but it is incredibly difficult to replicate.
It looks like a short record is missing but when checking the entry in SMOKNA1SHT, it has a full record there.
For us, we have generally seen it when navigating from the calendar, and then clicking the back button and for some reason, it does not seem to call the record from SMOKNA1SHT properly.
Closing MSA and reopening fixes it.
I believe that we raised an OSS but it is so difficult to replicate, it makes it vitually impossible to troubleshoot.
We are actually going to be replacing SMOKNA1SHT with a view in January, so it will be interesting to see if that fixes the issue - if it is framework, then it should not.
As well as the reported message, we had another one in the background that was half in English, half in French saying something like "Transferring the objects from cMSAActivities in section _IAC failed. Details: Not possible to carry out a cast from an object of type 'MSA.SCalendarTS' to type 'MSA.SMSAACTactoverview'"
That may not be the exist message as my French is a little shaky

The Market Group ID InfoObject is compounded. When I changed the query to include the compound InfoObject, the error is gone.
I did extensive testing using RSRT and I found some interesting things. First, this message can not be blocked because it is not available in the six message segments. I did not get the error when I executed the query using RSRT or if I used the ABAP Web button to run the query. Only when I used the Java Web button, could I reproduce the error message.

Hi, I need to know if when you are using a presentation that change the valid values of the argument dinamically is possible to change valid values?
There is an argumentValidValues() but when I put:
array = argumentValidValues()
nothing changes, does any one know if this is possible or if there is another way to do it?

You can refresh the valid values for an attribute (typically shown in a combo dropdown) in a BPM Object's presentation if you invoke the logic:
// note that this logic has to have double
// quotes surrounding the attribute's name
refreshValidValues("customerName")
This assumes that the attribute (customerName in this example) has its valid values derived from a "dynamic method" instead of a "static list".
When the logic shown above is run, the method associated with the attribute is automatically run and you should see your values in your combo drop dow get refreshed.
Please be careful to include the double quote characters in the logic. You'll be tempted to type:
// this logic will NOT work because it does not have the double quotes
refreshValidValues(customerName)
This is a common mistake and will cost you a day of scratching your head while you're trying to figure out what went wrong.

It happened to me today for the first time since upgrading to Mavericks 10.9.3, no "stop lights" in the title bar of the popup, in fact nothing at all.
I've never established a FaceTime account. So I tried to delete FaceTime from the Applications folder on the "system" disk thinking this may eliminate the popup. Mavericks informed me "Cannot delete FaceTime as it is used by the operating system.
Is this a MAC virus? Or is this an example user community alpha/beta testing that Apple just announced?

That being the case, why then did the FaceTime popup even appear in the first place?
It's not clear to me what it is. If it occurs again, please take a screenshot of the popup and post it in a reply.
To take a screenshot hold ⌘ Shift 4 to create a selection crosshair. Click and hold while you drag the crosshair over the area you wish to capture and then release the mouse button. You will hear a "camera shutter" sound. This will deposit a screenshot on your Desktop.
If you can't find it on your Desktop look in your Documents or Downloads folder.
When you post your response, click the "camera" icon above the text field:
This will display a dialog box which enables you to choose the screenshot file (remember it's on your Desktop) and click the Insert Image button.
The screenshot attachment option for this support site appears only on computers - not on iPads.
⌘ Shift 4 and then pressing the space bar captures the frontmost window.
