Please explain 3G-s Pre-Order for Store Pickup procedure

I've done this but what exactly does this get me? The fine print says +'Pre-authorization does not guarantee iPhone availability at an Apple Retail Store. iPhone is sold on a first-come, first-served basis'.+
So what exactly is the benefit to going this route? Will a separate and earlier line be opened up at Apple stores JUST for these pre-orders on the 19th?

One of the floor reps at the Apple Store here told me that if I go through the process and reserve online, then I can just come into the store to finish the purchase. I asked if that would mean that there will be one there waiting on me and I was told yes there would.
While she did not say this I am taking that to mean that say a store gets 10,000 phones and 5,000 reserved then they would only release 5,000 for people waiting in line.

  • Can't purchase a song from an Album that I cancelled the pre-order for?

    Ok, so here's the deal, I bought a £15 voucher and made some purchases, the first of which was the pre-order of an Album that was released today (Sunday 24th). I didn't know however, that the cost of the purchase was deducted from your balance once you actually downloaded the album, and I've spent my credit to the point where I'm pennies of being able to pay for the pre-order of the Album. I decided however, to hit cancel pre-order and simply just download the songs that I could afford, then download the wrest at a later date. However, the album that I've cancelled my pre-order for, still displays as 'Purchased'? I was able to download one song for pre-ordering the album, but that was a deduction of 99p, the price of a single song. I'm curious why I cant't purchase the wrest of the album individually, am I tied to the pre-order because I downloaded a song that was advertised as 'Early Access', or do I now have to pay the full cost of the Album because I've surpassed the deadline to cancel the pre-order (if there is such a thing).
    Some one please help me
    P.S. I've only been using iTunes for less than a week, so I'm pretty much a noob.

    Delete the problem track from the iTunes library, allowing iTunes to move the track file to the Trash. Then download the track again from the iTunes Store via this procedure:

    That fixes the problem for many people. If problems with the track persist, go here:
    iTunes Support
    and follow the instructions to report the issue to the iTunes Store.

    I'm working on Volume II of a two-book series. When I post Vol. I on iTunes (this month, March, 2013), is there a mechanism to accept pre-orders for the second volume? If so, what time frame lag between volumes is deemed suitable. (I'm expecting Vol. II to follow Vol. I by six months.) Also, what 'proof' does Apple need that Vol. II is legitimate. Thanks.

  • Stick of Truth Pre-Order In-Store Missing

    So, the Stick of Truth has launched!  I had pre-ordered this game for the PC some time ago, and when I went in on the 4th to pick it up, the store said they hadn't received any PC copies.  Additionally, none of the stores in the whole Illinois area had them.  Two days later, nothing seems to have changed, and no one is able to give me an ETA or anything.  Is there any word on PC pre-orders for this title?

    I'm sorry to hear that you have not yet heard from the Bayamon store about your pre-order.
    Generally speaking, for items pre-ordered in our stores, you should have five days to pick up your product. For the best and most accurate information, however, I recommend contacting or visiting the store.

  • Change delivery method for my pre-order for MGS V CE?

    I have preordered the Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain - Collector's Edition for PS4 in March. What I didn't realize at that time is I will be out of the country from 8/24 to 9/6, which means there will be nobody at my place to receive the delivery on 9/1. I was wondering if I could put the order on hold so I could pick it up at a local store on 9/7 or could I ship it to another address (i.e. my friend's place) so it wouldn't get returned and get cancelled. Thanks you.

    You can use 1 unified Apple ID for iTunes so you don't have to repurchase apps.   That part is fine.
    For iCLoud/iMessage/Facetime you should each have a unique ID so the 2 phones will be separate and you won't accidentally erase each other's content and overwrite settings, nor will you get the others messaages by mistake.

    I am trying to pre order a couple of games (Madden, COD, BF Hardline) and they all show unvailable for store pickup. I went ahead and checked other pre order games for diff systems - checked about 15 of them and they all s unavalabile for store pickup.. Is there an issue going on right now?

    I’m going to start by saying this is absolutely not a policy change. I saw your screenshot from your Twitter conversation and in all honesty, it’s quite unfortunate. I’m very sorry that you received this information and I’m fairly certain that our chat agent may have not been familiar with the issue at hand. While yes, some pre-orders such as specific limited/special editions are restricted to ship-to-home only, most pre-orders should still be just fine for in-store pickup.
    This is in fact a system issue and we’ve tested this to ensure that is the case. We’ve already alerted the appropriate teams within BestBuy.com and I’m confident this should be resolved in a timely fashion. Keep an eye on BestBuy.com, as you should be able to choose a store for in-store pickup once the functionality is restored. In the meantime, we sincerely appreciate your patience while this gets resolved!

  • Only Available for Store Pickup

    I have six Xbox 360 Games in my cart that I would love to purchase!  
    Only problem is "Only Available for Store Pickup" and no stores in my area?
    This really seems silly to me and is a missed sales opportunity.
    No one our buying these games and no one probably will.
    These titles have been available now for months...  
    Is there any possible way to simply have them shipped
    to me or my local BB if they must be picked up at a store?
    I would be more then happy to pick them up If I could.
    There must be a way around this, can someone here work their magic.
    Let's figure out how we can make this happen and make a sale!

    How frustrating it would be to get a great selection of several games in your cart only to find they aren't available for store pickup in your area! If they're fairly popular games that we should be getting consistent stock of, it would seem strange that none of them are available in your area. 
    Sadly, if they are only available for store pickup, we would likely be unable to ship them to your home. With that said, if you should like to provide me the name for each game (SKUs would work perfectly) I would be happy to look further into this issue with you!

  • Reserved for Store Pickup, No pre-order and Ship to Store!

    I'm reading all these discussions and my head is exploding. I was up @ 4am yesterday banging away like you all.
    My criteria was this; I was eligible for upgrade @ $199 with the activation fee waived (sweet). I wanted to pick the phone up at my Apple store because I trust it more then brown.
    When I clicked the pre-order link, there was NO option to have it sent to the store, it could only be sent to my house. Let me repeat that, NO option to send anywhere but house. It even says it "Pre-order your iPhone 4 from the Apple Online Store and we’ll ship it free — directly to your door and ready to use."
    So I went to the reserve in store process. There was NO WAY TO PAY for it up front. Let me repeat that; NO WAY TO PAY for the reserved phone. So I received my confirmation email and said there is a phone waiting for me on the 24th!
    I called 2 Apple stores and chatted online with 3 Apple support people and they ALL, every single 1 of them, said the same exact thing. The only way to pickup in the store is to go through the reservation process. The store will have 2 lines, reserved and general. The reserved will be there all day for you to pick up.
    So, does anyone have some proof that you pre-ordered it, paid for it and have it sent to your Apple store, not your home to pick up?

    Hi, I'm an international student and I don't have SSN and other IDs which are needed when making pre-orders.
    I think Apple Store will save iPhone5 for those who have made pre-orders and choose to pick up at Apple Stores.
    So, I'm wondering whether Apple Stores have enough devices for those who haven't made pre-orders.
    It takes more than two hours for me to get to the nearest Apple Store.
    I really want to go home with my new iPhone. I'm a big fan.....

    All you can do is phone the store and explain your position.   They could probably take a credit card payment over the phone as a last resort.

  • My Pre Order for Boarderlands Was not Available in Store

    I have a problem and I hope you can help. I pre-ordered the game Borderlands the Handsome Collection for PS4. When I went into the store to pick it up today, I was told they did not have one for me. The manager told me to have my preorder canceled and to just buy another copy when they're available. I asked them if I did that would I lose my $10 preorder bonus and he had no answer. I haven't canceled the order yet, but don't I only have a certain amount of time to pick it up or I lose the preorder bonus? Is there anything you can help me with on this problem.

  • My Super smash bros Wii U pre order because i pre ordered in store and placed a $5 deposit

    Let me share what I was told when I arrived at best buy store. By the way I will file a complaint to corporate about this and will see about filing it to better business bureau... I pre ordered my smash brothers bundle in store ( couldn't do it online because there are issues with my account for a year now and after numerous calls to fix it which I have been given so many ticket numbers,best buy just cant fix their own mistakes). I arrive at the store to pick up my pre order and the employee responds with a dissapointing tone"don't tell me you preordered the bundle." the employee just walks back and forth. She then asks her co-worker which she then tells me "we don't have your preorder...we only filled orders for the people who preordered online and fully paid the game." I asked for a manager and told him this is the second time best buy has messed up my pre orders and provide me with poor service. He then says that they only filled the orders from online purchases and who paid in full which makes me feel like I didn't matter only because I placed a $5.00 deposit to guarantee my copy.overall I received poor customer service, he did not own the situation and didn't offer at least some type of compensation to a "former" loyal elite customer. In general, best buy has given me poor service throughout the year by not fixing my ability to order online for a year, messing up my pre order of Mario kart 8 by charging me for the free $10 gift card which was supposed to be free for pre ordering the game and then refusing to give me a refund for the $10 charge, and finally telling me that even though I pre ordered, because I didn't pay the bundle in full I don't get my copy at all... Not even a phone call,common courtesy to notify me. This is it! Best buy will never get business from me and I will never recomment it to anyone. Amazon on the other hand does everything right, and owns the situations and strive to make things right.Amazon is now my go to for shopping all electronic and entertainment needs. Amazon even allowed me to place a new order for the bundle and will receive it next week versus best buy saying " we don't know when we will get them." In short I cancelled my pre order from best buy and took my business elsewhere. Finally when I asked the supervisor for corporate's contact information, he refused to provide it. Now I need to check online and hunt down that information

    Reading through your description of events I can certainly understand why you would be disappointed.  It is not our intent to leave any customers out when they pre-order a product with us.  While we are working to fulfill our in-store pre-orders that were not yet completed, I can also understand your desire to cancel the order and go where you could get an order shipped out to you.  I am sorry that was not us this time.
    I will certainly document your feedback so that we can learn from it and ensure that our stores are adequately equipped to fulfill orders as our first priority, but provide all care and courtesy when things don't go quite as intended.

  • How long does it take for a store to process an online order for store pick up

    Hello,
    I placed an order for a Macbook Pro on November 11, 2014. Scheduled an in store pick up where Best Buy estimated pick up date is November 14. I didn't receive the email or text to pick up the item, so I decided to call 1-800-best-buy to see if I can get the new estimated pick up date. I was told by the representative the laptop is actually already at the store, and waiting for me to pick it up. I called the store to make sure, and was told that I can pick it tomorrow morning. I called in today was placed on hold for around 15 minutes. Decided to call 1-800-best-buy again, and found out that it will take another 3-5 days before I get my laptop. I asked the representative to change the pick to another store that has the laptop available right now. It was change since around 10 am in the morning. I called the store to make sure that they got my order, the Manager told me that once the truck deliver more laptop. I will be able to get mine, and I should call in the afternoon to check on the availablity. I called around 5 pm to check, and was told that even if there is a laptop. I would still need to wait until best buy process my order. Called 1-800-best-buy again, and was told that Apple usually take 3-4 for hours to verify the information. Right now, my order status is still "Preparing Order".
    My Questions: How long will it take for Best Buy to finish Preparing Order?
    Why does it show on the website that if I order by 8 PM I wil be able to pick up the laptop today. Meanwhile, the store pick up was transfered since 10 am this morning, and at 10 PM tonight still nothing.
    If I cancel my order, will I get all of my reward zone certificates back?
