Please fix audiobooks to take any file type

Why, why, why can't Apple simply let any type of file be placed in Audiobooks?
Sure would be simpler than all the hassles so many of us have.
PLEASE... if anyone is listening. Just fix this. Thanks.

Because the audiobook format is more complicated than a simple file. You have to have chapter markers at each part, etc.

There are many ways of uploading any file type to R3, provided it depends on how do you want to store it.
In general there are two easy ways, one is using the upload UI element, you can specify a path in the server and have configured it for all files and store the file directly in the file directory of the server.
Secondly, you need to do some work on the sap side, like creating a simple rfc, which will take up the file content as a 'binary' (raw) data type and store in the database with the relevant parameters. you rfc will take / get the update from the webdynpro UI element ( you need to do create a model ..context / binding..etc ). The whole file will be stored in binary form.
Hope this gives you some picture of how to go about on it.

AE CC not exporting to any file type on Mac OSX 10.10.2

I have been trying to export my AE sequences to pretty much any file type possible. Initially thought it was the Quicktime/H.264 error that people had noted in other threads, even tried it with AME. I've tried exporting several different projects too, some that had third party plug-ins and even test projects with just in-software assets in them. I was having no problem up until just a few days ago when I upgraded. My best guess is that it's OSX 10.10.2 related bug?
Computer specs:
MacBook Pro (13-inch, Mid 2012)
Processer 2.9 GHz Intel Core i7
Memory 16 GB 1600 MHz DDR3
Graphics Intel HD Graphics 4000 1024 MB

Oh yes. My bad. It is in face the one-second mark. And it is in every
project I have tried.
The assets in the first project that I noticed this happening on (which was
also the first project I opened after upgrading to OSX 10.10.2) include:
- Solid background with a color gradient
- Alpha Track Matte
- Optical Flare
- Particular
- Null object
But this exact same problem occurs with every project I've tried to export,
regardless of what's in the project/comp

Itunes delays ONLY when playing mp3's. Also it delays when I move any file type into a playlist. Help! I'm about to go back to Windows Media Player!

Here's what I've done so far;
I 've checked my external hardrive (by playing it off my internal instead), I've tried reinstalling (although it wasn't an uninstall), I've tried clicking on all the neccesary boxes (let itunes organize files, copy files, consolidate, and reorganize), I've tried different sound cards, I've tried moving files quickly (as some have said this works). I'm not sure what's wrong. I have 7000 songs.
Any help would be great!

Have you tried installing Media Manager on another computer and streaming the songs from there?
How about smaller playlists? See the same problem?

Attach any file type in the same format and send it thorugh mail

Dear Guru ,
I have encountered an issue which i am not able to resolve .
The issue is like this I need to upload any kind of file type(such as .txt, .xls, .pdf, .doc, .jpeg, .bmp)
and need to send that file send that particular file and the same file type format attached in the mail.
how i should approch to get solution to this issue.
I have gone through the all prog refered in the code gallry (related to send mail with attachment) but i am not able to find out any prog which is giving guidine line attach any kind of file type from the PC (most of the prog is with either taking filetype .txt, .xls or RAW) and send it via mail .
Need proper guideline to resolve this issue.... how i should approch to solve this.....

Yes saha da i know using SO00 or Sap Business Workplace (SBWP) you can send it.
But the requirment is like this it must have to do from the selection scereen of the prog .User can save the path of the file which is residing in pc in a variant and from that variant prog will run in background to automate the process.
We can do it using harcoding the filetype while uploading data from the selection screen.
But we have to provide the flexiblity to the user so that he/she can change to any file or any file path.
I am not pretty sure but i my plan i am thinking 1st i will provide the provision of uploading the file into sap application server and from there we will read the file type , file content and send it to mail.
I know it can be done but right now dont know how it can be done ..... but i will findout...
Can you give me some more guideline reagrding this.

Is there a way to use this to serve any kind of file. This way I have to specify the file type, but it may change.

Um... well you could use a variable instead of hard-coding the MIME type?
Or am I not understanding what you're asking, because that sounds like too obvious a suggestion to me?

IPod click wheel won't take any files

I have an iPod with a click wheel, and have had many problems with it. When I first got it I loaded my music on it from my Dell PC. I have had many problems since, and currently I cannot get it to retain any files transferred from my G5 iMac.
When I connect it via FireWire, it appears in iTunes and seems to update perfectly. However, when I eject and subsequently disconnect it, the first screen that appears is the one which asks you to selesct a language. When I try to access my music, there are no files on the iPod. Is this a problem with the internal hardware of the iPod or is there a software solution to this problem?

I am sorry that you have had problems out of your iPod. This sounds to me, like the backup battery, or logic board is having problems. Since you disconnect it from the firewire cable (which is also its power source), the backup battery would kick in, the backup battery keeps information stored in a small memory module, called a bios chip. This memory module keeps up with information like, "My name is iPod, I love music., etc.". When the battery goes dead however, the memory does not keep the information, so when you start it up with the bios empty, it needs the information again, like "What is your Language, What time is it, etc." You could get the battery replaced at the Apple Store Genius bar, or send it into Apple. There are also some third-party vendors, but I like the original Apple parts.

No Thumbnails of any file type

Just downloaded and installed CS4. When in Bridge I see that the program is building previews but when it is done I get no icons. Doesn't matter what file type or what folder I click on I get nothing but building previews then a black preview area...
So far I've tried deleting the cache files, reinstalling CS4. I have the latest updates too...

Strange as it may seem, you most likely need to calibrate your monitor. A corrupt monitor profile can have that result. Lightroom seems to be more sensitive to a bad monitor profile than almost anything else, including photoshop.

Downloads of any file type

In trying to download any file, the download window appears and the file appears. When I try to open the file, I get a message which says the file has been moved. I have changed the download folder to different locations, with deletion option to manually, all with the same result. I only have this problem on my Vista PC. It works as it should on my Mac. Is there a simple solution?

No audio on playback of any file types. Driver issue? Realtek High Definition

I don't recall when this started happening, since I haven't used the program in a very long time. But, no sound is heard from any type of clips I drop into the program. Nothing from the source monitor and nothing from the main window.
Volume bars show up on the main window but no audio is heard. Audio Hardware preferences have the default device set to premiere pro wdm sound (i suspect this is the issue). I updated my Realtek HD driver last night to version R2.75 (6.0.1.7246 in windows properties). Premiere Pro CS5.5
Also, maybe not related, I can't drop audio files where I want. It's as if the audio tracks are locked. It only allows me to drop in added tracks, not audio 1 or 2. Even though I have audio in tracks 1 and 2, I can't move new files to these tracks. Even if I unlink the a/v, the audio still will not budge.

In the Audio Track Headers are "speaker" icons.
A single speaker is Mono
A double is stereo
5.1 says 5.1 (IIRC)
Mono only goes in a mono track - single speaker.
Stereo only goes in a stereo track - 2 speakers
etc....

Please fix Lightroom-it is replicating files at will!

Over the past 24 hours I have rebuilt my A PS LR Library, and it is still replicating files with the same file name. This might have happened when I imported multiple folders in an attempt to "streamline" my Lightroom Catalog, but the action added 6,000 files, but the good news is, it didn't smoke my Internal Hard Drive!
I am a hard-headed German and refuse to lose... Software is supposed to save me time, but when it ends up taking more time to fix software induced problems, it's time to take a walk...
I am going to B&N and get a new Beatles CD.
When I return, Lightroom v 1/1 might have a new upgrade, but I have dreamed before...
I am considering trashing the current catalog and starting over with a new import. I have spent the better part of the last 24 hours trying to eradicate files in the catalog with the same file name.
When LR creates web galleries in HTML, these files are stored as previews, and it's making me crazy. Sometimes I generate 3 web galleries a day, and am running out of patience, and External Hard Drive Space. I don't have the resources of Bill Gates, or Steven Jobs, but then I could win the lottery tomorrow, but my wife told me I had to buy a ticket to win...
I'm trying to get enough change together to pay attention... I am on a few drugs for hypertension, and they affect my abilty to multitask on multiple levels. Normally I CAN do several things at once, like chew gum and dance, but I can't polka unless I've had a couple martinis...
When I get back from the book store, I pray that there will be an upgrade from Adobe, to fix these known bugs. I had some maggots in my trash yesterday, and Waste Manangement carried them away for me, so I will have another bill to pay.

If the software were more streamlined and therefore efficient, the catalogs would be smaller, and files would not be replicated multiple times. I have images in my catalog w/ the same file name, but there might be 20 iterations for one file.
This is wasting my time!!!
I picked up 2 Beatles albums, and will spend the next 48 hours importing a new catalog.
If this persists, I may have no alternatives other than to try Aperture, but I have some known issues w/ some Chinese manufacturers.
I am not against the Chinese, they work very hard.
But some companies are SO GREEDY, they have Chinese people making USB proprietary cables for Canon cameras to upload to Mac, and each costs $20. I bought 2 and my daughters have each bought 2. So my family is helping the Chinese whether they realize it or not!
Perhaps I'm a little nieve, but also a Christian, and that helps guide my ways.
I will start rebuilding a new catalog just like I'm rebuilding myself. It's time to pick up all the good pieces, put them back together and move forward again!

No sound with any file type!

hi, ive rendered some videos from 3D studio max at work and put them into premier, then added wav's and mp3's for sound effects and background themes. they all worked fine at work but when i opened the project in my copy at home the sound files dont work.
ive exported the movie it to see if its just in the programme but that has no sound either.
all the files work in WMP and other programmes.
anybody got any clues?

It sounds like an Audio issue in PrPro. Do you get any Audio in it, regardless of the Assets? If not, then go to Edit>Preferences>Audio Hardware and look there. If you can't make sense of what you see, please do a screen-cap of that dialog box, and also the ASIO Settings' dialog box.
Since you get Audio in your players, it *seems* that your Audio sub-system is set up OK.
If your settings make perfect sense to you, but still do not work, you might have good luck with ASIO4All, a little freeware ASIO driver, that has helped many others.

"Where from:" Information don't work for any file type

As i know Safari and iChat stores the download url from a file - downloaded over the internet - in a meta tag called 'kmditemwherefroms'. You can see this information in the finder information dialog.
But not on my system. I'm running 10.4.8 on power mac G5.
To invesigate the problem, i used the 'mdls' comand in the terminal on a fresh downloaded file: the above meta entry don't appear.
Any ideas to activate this feature?

As a follow up to your good work, perhaps this may help to clear some of sstoll's issues.
If you watch your raw query as you download a file you will observe that the file will appear in the found list.
However, some will disappear from the list when they are finished downloading.
For example,
1) if you go to VersionTracker and download 'Google Reader', it lists as GoogleReader.zip.download until you click continue at which time it immediately disappears from the list.,
2) If you do the same thing downloading 'DownloadComment' - it remains in the list
3) If you right click a pdf in your browser to send a copy of the file down, it appears in the list. However,
4) PDF's which are set to open automatically in Adobe Acrobat will appear in the list but lose their WhereFroms the second they open in Adobe Acrobat.
These are not bugs. It is the way that the files authors' have compiled their downloadable files to either store the necessary metadata permanently or temporarily, or both depending on how the download is initiated.
Why would one want to only temporarily store or not include the WhereFrom metadata? Perhaps for security or privacy.
Now it is possible that the storing of the metadata may be affected by how the Privacy pane preferences are set for Spotlight at the time of the download. Certainly if the download is set to be saved in a folder that is in the Privacy pane it won't be in the index. Taking it in and out should restore the order but that depends on how the author may have set the metadata to be stored in the first place.
Unfortunately, updating applications, installing third-party search apps and diving into some of the, particularly Terminal, suggestions posted in these forums haphazardly can have a profound detrimental effect on how Spotlight is to function or the permissions in general.
As a general rule, we now run Disk Utility and verify/repair the permissions immediately that we install or upgrade an application. That and trying not to upset the Apple-cart by messing around with the system seems to keep our machines running as they should be.

Wont import any file type

I had to restore my Mac with a time machine back up, then when redownloading and opening Premiere Pro, I had to redownload the video graphics display. I done this, I can now open the software but it won't import any form of vide file.

Open any file type

I have come on a file that I can't open - and it has no extension as a clue.
Even though it is only 24kb and so likely to be text I'd like to know what ut is before I dump it, so does any one have ideas as to how extract the contents?
