Please give me back my backlight toggle

With my previous iPod, I would always leave the backlight off and toggle it on and off with the MENU button.
And yet now...I'm unable to do this. I know I can add a backlight option to the main menu, but that's a hassle compared to what I was able to do before. I dislike the preset backlight timers because I hate having the backlight turn on every time I adjust the volume.

This bothers me because older iPods used to have
the feature where holding down MENU would manually
toggle the backlight.
And this is exactly how the 5G (video) iPod works
with version 1.0 of the iPod OS.
It was removed on iPod version 1.1.

You could also try a full restore.

I restarted my iphone and when it booted back up i received a loud pining sound with a message stating please give me back my iphone. it popped up for a second and went away.

I just restarted my iphone because of lag and when it popped back up there was a loud pinging sound with a message that appeared that stated give me back my iphone. It went away after a few seconds and the sound stopped. I restarted 4 times since then to see if it happened again but it never occured.
After doing a bit of looking around online i noticed that messages like these appear through the find my iphone app. I bought the phone new a year ago from my provider and broke it right out of the box and everything so i know didnt buy a stolen phone or anything.
Help or adice on the issue would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks for the response. I thought about maybe i was somehow messing around in icloud but i dont quite recall doing that but with new toys you never know what you may press. I just wanted to see if there was some sort of glitch going around perhaps.
I've changed my passwords for all my accts to be on the safe side as it is looking like there is no glitch that may cause this.
it's beginning to look more and more like it was caused by a person.

Why Bing? Please give me back Google...

Bing comes back every time I remove it and restart Firefox. I tried many times, even removing it completely from my system, but it keeps on coming back as a default setting...
Both in the separate toolbar and as the "background" search engine in my browser.
Is this a new policy?? It's kind of horrible. I may switch to Chrome if this can't be solved.

Do a malware check with several malware scanning programs on the Windows computer.
Please scan with all programs because each program detects different malware.
All these programs have free versions.
Make sure that you update each program to get the latest version of their databases before doing a scan.

Please give us back "Save as" in Preview

I typically save high-quality PNG images from my 3D software, but send clients JPG images as proofs, during a working process.
The lack of "Save as" in Preview means extra steps for me now. I have to first create a "duplicate", then save it. "Versions" is a wonderful idea, but please let us have "Save as" too, so I can keep my faster workflow.
(I've submitted this directly to Apple, but in case staff members read these posts, thought I'd add it here too.)

Sorry LionDeveloper but I'm not buying that explanation. What more do I need to know about "how files work"?
I've followed 4 or 5 "how to" suggestions including Duplicate but none will allow me to actually save my resized image. I can get to the Save dialogue box but when I try to save the resized image it tells me I don't have permission to save it.
I am so incredibly frustrated with this I'm seriously considering reverting back to Snow Leopard!
For now I'm having to do all this work on my PC because I can't do it on my Mac anymore (since upgrading to Lion)!

9.0.5.2 IDE: please give me back the "rebuild" context menu

Hi, in several cases the "make" on a package or file does not compile my contained sources after removing the previous compiled .class files from the classes directory.
A workaround seems to be deleting the *.cdi file.
But anyhow, could you please readd the rebuild file / package to the editor and navigator node context menu?

Yes, you have found the right workaround, that whenever you delete one or more .class(es) from the output directory, you must remove the .cdi file at the root of the output directory.
We are working to improve this in the current version in development, you shouldn't really need the rebuild of a package, make should always do the right thing. But when you go out and delete manually some .class(es), it won't do the right thing.

I suspect unless he had some items in iCloud backup then they are gone. Connecting an iPhone to a different library from that to which it was previously connected will result in the device asking if you want to erase it.

To restore the MacBook Pro to factory settings:
1. Make a backup of your files because everything will be erased.
2. Insert the Snow Leopard disc and press the C key while your Mac is starting to start from the DVD.
3. Go to Utilities menu > Disk Utility, select Macintosh HD on the sidebar, go to Erase tab and erase the disk.
4. Close Disk Utility and install Mac OS X

The game you mentioned does not save online. If you have made a backup using "iCloud" or "iTunes backup" then you may be able to restore to that last save point on your device which will include whatever you had for currency at the time when the save was created.
Unfortunately, we do not have a way to restore game progress, this is done by the user on the device itself using the backup and restore method for the entire device.
If you have not performed a backup save for your device before this problem happened and you have lost currency from purchases, please contact the iTunes store customer service to inquire about your purchase and request help regarding this loss of currency issue.. Apple does not allow developers to handle billing issues.
If you get an answer saying that In-App purchases are the responsibility of the developer, please insist that they assist you as we have no way of accessing their purchase records. We are the developer and do not have access to any account or billing information on the iTunes App Store.

Select * from viewname where 1 1 gives records back

for one customer the following sql gives records back

we asked the customer to send over the database to us but we can't reproduce this behaviour. We don't get any records. the problem is we don't have the same version of oracle they use 9.2.0.4 and we used 10.2.0.1. i can't download the 9i version anymore.
Does anybody know of a bug in oracle which can cause such behaviour or a setting which can correct this?

Using a query with "where 1 <> 1" as a condition that is bringing back results, is clearly wrong. You have clearly shown that in other more recent versions of the database it is working ok, therefore you have already proven that there is a bug in the version they are using.
They are suspecting our view has a design flaw. We have in our documentation stated requirements for our software are the 9 or 10 version of oracle or sql server. So for me there are a couple of possibilities:
-we try to reproduce the query on their database on the same oracle database version as they are using - problem is we don't have this exact same version and oracle does not have this version for download on their site anymore or so it seemsThat's because it's no longer supported. Any good software house will keep on top of it's customers to ensure they are upgraded in line with Oracle's ability to support. So, partially, it's your companies fault for saying you support version 9, when clearly you can't.
--i ask other more knowledgable people(hopefully this forum) who might know about such problems which might result in a correction in the customer oracle database configuration or know of a bug in the customers version which causes this behaviour.You'll be lucky to find people still using such an old version (you're talking a version that almost 10 years out of date). The best you can do is to log onto Oracle Support and search there for known issues... and the answer on those is likely to be a recommendation to patch or upgrade too.
