3rd party to sap using HTTP adapter

Hi Folks,
I'm sending some IDOC to sap from the 3rd party. I have to use HTTP adapter as sender and IDOC as receiver adapter.
Can you please suggest me how to configure teh sender side. As I know there will be no such configuration for the sender adapter as it is HTTP then how the HTTP adapter will get the data sent by the 3rd party and how it will pass it on to the idoc adapter ?

Hi Experts,
I'd like to know if PI's HTTP Adapter supports HTTP posts with multipart/form-data content type. If it's not possible, what's the possible alternative?

I'm planning to use SOAP Adapter to send the data to target system using since HTTP Adapter can't be used to send message with attachment (provided that Java Mapping won't be used). Is it possible for SOAP Adapter (receiver) to be an alternative of HTTP Adapter by configuring the adapter not to send SOAP Envelope, would it still expect to receive a SOAP response?

I'm having 1 year work experience in php and java. But now I want to learn sap. what are the qualities required to learn. and I heard about that sap are having many modules.
Studying course only enough to get a job in that field or have to get the certification.

Hi,
SAP is like a big ocean which contains many-many modules and have roles as technical consultant, functional consultant, development consultant at broad level. These days JAVA guys are very much demand in SAP as SAP is integrating its some of tools to totally comply with JAVA. Its not necessary to have certification to get a job, but yes having certification is always an added advantage for the person. Only studying is not at all enough to get a job, these days competition are getting more tougher as there are many numbers of SAP professionals are available in the market. I will suggest that go through the training from a good institute like SAP or from SAP authorized center and try having hand-on as much as you can coz only good knowledge pays back.
If you want to do coding in SAP the you have to go for ABAP (the programming language for SAP) and you already know JAVA, it will be an added benefit for you. Plz find two linkss which talks about various modules of SAP. Go through these modules and decide which one you like most:

I was testing a developed object. There are two types of testing
- Negative testing
- Positive testing
In negative testing we will give negative data in input and we check any errors occurs.

We can create a internal table like 'bsgmcgcoll'. All the messages will go to internal table. We can get errors in this internal table.

HI we are currently integrating a http to rfc connection with the URL in the format of

we want to pass the url parameters name and country to a rfc in sap but we are having difficulties using the apply URL Parameters on the sender http adapter when it comes to message mapping. can you give a sample xml that will be generated when we received the said URL and how we can map these on the receiver RFC. You need to tick ASMA and then under apply URL parameters your entry should be like this:

   If you need <PACKET type="REQUEST" version="1.0" >, then you need to create attributes 'type' and 'version' under node <PACKET>. At mapping level you can pass constant values for those attibutes.

HTTP Adapter and Message confirm

Hi Experts,
I don't understand an aspect of communication with SAP PI.
I have a External System that comunicates with SAP ECC via SAP PI HTTP Adapter.
When SAP ECC sends an MATMAS message to External System like payload of HTTP message, How Does External System confirm MATMAS is recived?
In R/3 System there are methods to commit, roll back transaction, there's a similar mechanism with HTTP Adapter?

it does not - http adapter does no support acknowledgments
the only way would be to receive a message back from http to PI
with some status info and for example on the basis of that
change the status of the outbound matmas idoc to - received successfully
but there is no confirmation with HTTP adapter that the message was received

Header Fields in HTTP Adapter

Hi,
Can anyone please explain meaning of "Header fields in HTTP adapter" ? It has "Name" and "Value" fields in the receiver HTTP channel.
If I enter values like:
Name                         Value
Source                        XYZ
Destination                  ABC
Where will these appear in outbound HTTP post ?
Also, is this different from "HTTP Header Fields" checkbox available in "Adapter specific message attributes" section ?

You use this, when you want to have dynamic header fields. You put here a key, but instead of a value you put a parameter name, which can be filled with a value during mapping runtime.

Can I get a response back when I use HTTP adapter

Hi ,
I am doing a integration between SAP and ThirdParty Product using PI 7.1.
The scenario is ThirdParty -> PI -> SAP ,using HTTP adapter between ThirdParty and PI , and IDoc adapter between SAP and PI.
So,its a HTTP sender and IDoc receiver.
So I was just curious to know if the IDoc posting failed in SAP ,can I send a response from SAP to Thirdparty regarding the failure along with some error message.

Hi,
It may lead to some timeout problems if you design your scenario as synchronous i.e sending response back to HTTP..
as SAP may take time to process idoc and need to provide response back to PI ..by that time the connection may become invalid and thirdparty may receive response as timeout error...
As anyway PI has the option of Alert managements..you can trigger the error mail to the third party recipients for letting them the status...

I am going to implement SAP (FI-CO) project into Vietnam company but I cannot find the Vietnam's localization or the information that is important for my implementation.
Please give the information which is helpfull for me.

> Business System : This is defined as part of the SLD and is a physical system whose parameters are well defined.
Business Service : This is not defined as part of SLD and whose technical parameters are not completely known.

data types just define the abstract XSD structure . but since In XI we are using XML langauge. so We need a Root element in our message. that root element is added by Messagr type.
means data type is just an abstarct structure and message type add root element to data type.
thats why in Mapping we use message type only.........
and one message type corresponds to one data type only............

> Message Mapping is used to map the sender and reciver message structure. it is the format in which data will be processed.

Interface mapping assigns message mapping which can be of different types

For synchronous Interfaces , we have a request interface mapping ans response interface mapping.
They are two different types of interface mapping. one is standard and another one is enhanced.
