Please help...battery died...handheld data gone!!!

I know, my bad, been a tad distracted and let battery run out on handheld...battery is probably on its last legs anyway since it hasn't ever been changed yet but device showed 17% capacity when I first turned it on and within seconds, screen dimmed (expected), then froze (unexpected)...couldn't shutdown power...just stuck on a dimmed screen in last open app.
Anyhow, needless to say, did not make it back to cradle for recharge before battery drained completely and now need advice on best way to go about restoring at least the desktop data from last hotsync to the handheld. All data wiped from handheld, nothing left.
Should I perform a "normal" hotsync using default settings or go into custom hotsync menu and change to "desktop overwrites handheld"? Given that "syncing" usually means whichever record was updated last is considered newer and replaces the older one, is there a chance that a regular-old-hotsync will erase the data from my desktop, thinking that the no-data from the handheld is newer? Does that make sense? If so then, should I change settings to "desktop overwrites handheld" to be sure that I don't lose any more data? Does it make any difference either way?
Also, should I attempt to export copies from desktop just to be safe? Is there any way to archive all desktop data in one quick and easy step? It's been a while but seem to recall seeing archive copies available at some point in the distant past?

Whenever I've had a battery run out or switched to new palm (I think I'm on my fourth or fifth), do a hard boot (usually hold in power button and hit reset), then when you resynch, your computer will ask for your user name (attached to you palm device) and will reboot everything on the desktop to your device. If you have any doubts, first go to windows explorer and make a copy of the Palm directory under Windows to a safe place so if things go south, you have a backup. Good luck!

Hello Technical Experts... please help me on this error :- 'Tax data is missing ArrayOffset 12, srcLineNum 0, srcGroupNum -1'.

In my A/P credit memo screen i have incorporated a column for adding reference to closed A/P Invoices. upon filling this field with DocNum of APInvoice certain other fields also get filled from an SQL query. One among them is the TaxCode. My problem is that the TaxAmount(LC) field at the last row of the matrix is not filled with the appropriate value, it remains 0. On trying to add the document or pressing the link button on the TaxAmount field a status bar error message pops up showing, 'Tax data is missing ArrayOffset 12, srcLineNum 0, srcGroupNum -1'.
Please Help me solve this issue.

Please help: User cannot see webi report data

I've got a wired problem here in my webi report. Basically I am located in Singapore and produced a webi report for our user in UK. The report looks totally fine with all the data shown correctly. But when our report user logged into the dashboard from UK, she could only see partial data and some of the information are missing(blank cells in the report).
To verify the cause I've done the following test:
1. I remote control her computer and log into dashboard using my account, the result is I get same problem and I cannot see some of the data.
2. I let her remote control my pc and log into dashboard using her account, she no longer has this problem and can see complete data.
We use same version of IE, same JAVA version. And the report data is not time sensitive, so different time zone might not the possible cause.
This problem is killing me. Can anyone please help and let me know any possible solution? Thanks so much.

Hi Sinsin, what version of BusinessObjects are you using? Is it XI 3.1?
I don't know if it is the same problem or not, but I have seen that before when a user cannot view the data, change the font and/or background color and the data becomes visible. Reinstalling the client fixed that problem. If you couldn't figure out the root cause, you might want to consider this option.

I am currently a student attending LSU working on an SAP project worth a very significant portion of our grade. The following is a detailed description of the problem, which should hopefully help you put your finger on a solution.
My problem is that when I try to hit the accept button on PP10 for a goods issue, I get an error message "Accounting data not yet maintained" (please refer to attached screenshot #1). When I click the help button, I get a vague solution (please refer to attached picture #2). I have tried and "change" my material master record for Cushion 065 by going back to MM06/create material master for trading goods (please refer to attached picture #3), but I don't have the understanding of SAP to manipulate the information at this point. It is just giving me the ability to manipulate views and it is only letting me choose the following views (please refer to attached picture #4).
Please help me find a more useful pathway so I can proceed. If whoever is helping me needs me detailed information, please let me know. Also, if someone could direct me to a user support function where I can talk to a representative in real time, I would appreciate that.

I have to display 3 weeks data when the user selects one week.
In the front end i have start date and end date , after selecting the start and end date i have drop down list which will display the weeks . By passing weekid i need to fetch data for last 3 weeks, is this possible by passing only the week id. and what
if the user selects the last year as start date and current date as end date....
for example
if the user selects week -38
it should display data for week 38,37 and 36 . this is working if by decrementing the week by 1.
what if the user selects week 1, it should select the last 2 weeks of previous year as well. how will i do this by using week id...please help

Please help! Computer died and I'm stuck in Germany!!

Hello there,
My computer stopped working yesterday and I'm going to be in Germany till May, where there are no support centers, genius bars, etc.
When I try to turn on my computer it instantly goes to a gray screen, with only a small folder with a question mark on it. That question mark folder then turns into the finder icon, and they switch back and forth.
My comuter won't do anything else. I tried holding down the alt key, which brought me to a screen with a refresh button and and arrow button. On that screen the cursor can click either icon, then disappears and the screen freezes. I tried using the arrow keys but that did nothing.
The problems began last night.My computer slowly turned on, the cursor got stuck, and then it shut down. After that it wouldn't turn on. That was last night, and now its doing the folder icon thing I previously described.
Please help! This computer is how I do everything from Germany and it will be 3 months until I can bring it to a Mac center. Thank you so much!!!!!

In the mean time, do you have your original install disks? The question mark means the iBook can't find a valid system folder to startup from. The reason may be a simple file directory problem that could be fixed with the Disk Utility on your install disk. Or, it could mean the hard drive has gone bad and we should get a S.M.A.R.T. status from the Disk Utility or an error code from the Apple Hardware Test (also from your install disks).

Please Help. Macbook running up to date Leopard has optical drive problem

From Day one whenever the lid is shut on my macbook it keeps addressing the optical drive every 10 seconds or so. Its really annoying and I;ve updates the firmware and keep the OS up to date but it keeps doing it. It's like whenever its in sleep mode it keeps addressing the drive. God knows what damage this must be doing the the drive(although it still works fine). Any ideas?

Thank you for the insight. I tried what you described and it did not resolve my issue. Whether I right click to add the star or click the star, it results in the same issue. The only time I can add a star and not have it result in the message going back to unread is if I open the message and leave it open for a significant amount of time, then if I star it, it does not mark it as unopened.

I have a double value which I am getting from reading the excel file using Apache POI Classes.
For example: The date in the excel cell is 12/18/2008 and when reading the cell using the POI class it is returning 39800.0
instead of returning the original excel date 12/18/2008.
Basically I need to convert back the double value 39800.0 to 12/18/2008.
Did anybody face issue like this, or is there any other way to get date value from excel files.
I am posting part of my code for reference..

Cells have a type (string, numeric, blank etc) and that's about it as far as content is concerned.
But they do have a style.
cell.getCellStyle() will return you an HSSFCellStyle. And this class has a method getDataFormat() which returns a short value. I guess you might attempt to guess that a numeric value "was" a date from the fact the returned value is one of the known date formats.

In other words if you look at
short format = cell.getCellStyle().getDataFormat();and you see a 2 you know you are looking at an ordinary ("0.00") number value. If you see a 14 you are looking at a ("m/d/yy") date. And so on for the rest.

IPod does not sync music. Please help before I die. LOL

ok so i plug in my usb to my iPod after i dragged the music into itunes from folders and what not and you know usually when the music syncs it will till u the title of the songs and stuff at the top while its syncing right? well i add a lot of new songs and it just says that its syncing but doesnt show the process of it being synced...then when it says done i go back in my ipod and the new music isnt there...i've reset the pod a bunch of times..restarted my computer..reinstalled iTunes..i dont know what else to do..if u can help me it would b greatly appreciated..thank you!!

Have you tried "restoring" your iPod? Restoring will erase the iPod's hard drive, reload the software and put it back to default settings. Once the restore is complete follow the on screen instructions to name the iPod and automatically sync your songs and videos onto the fresh installation. Press Done and the iPod will appear in iTunes and start to sync. If you want to sync using selected playlists uncheck the box beside the sync automatically instruction and press Done, it will default to manual mode and you can choose whatever setting you like: Restoring iPod to factory settings with iTunes 7
