Please help before 3-24-12 !!

okay, i have an ipod touch, and its one of the older generations, i think.. and it will NOT turn on what so ever. i have just bought many new songs on it, so it crushes me that its going to not work now.. but i've heard that it needs updated, well.. i plugged it into my laptop to get it updated, and my computer doesn't even recognize that i plugged my ipod in!
PLEASE HELP ASAP.

    I’m sure this has come up before but I have to ask.
    When I add new songs to my iTunes, it will “misplace” older ones and adds exclamation points to them?
    At first I thought this was because I had to have my hard drive replaced and it lost the original songs but the more songs I add, the more get “lost” and now its started to affect the songs that I have purchased from iTunes recently so I KNOW its not due to the hard drive replacement. What can I do? Way too many of my songs are exclamationed now. I backed up the list several weeks ago because I had a suspicion this was what was wrong. The weird part is, even though the songs are gone in iTunes, it doesn’t delete them from the iPod. Even if I clear those songs. It will add the new ones just fine, but it won’t delete the old ones. There doesn’t appear to be any rhyme or reason to the deletion of my songs. They just go as I add more. I have 330 songs and 70 of them are exclamationed. I had more but started deleting them before I figured out what was happening. So far, I seems to only happen when I add new music, no matter where its from. It even happens when I purchase from iTunes. Please help before it kills my entire library!
    I have an 8 gig iPod so I know its not because its full. Oh, and Im running on an older Gateway, but I can’t even begin to tell you what year or anything and OS is Windows XP Pro. I also have the latest version of iTunes and update regularly. Any other info you need?
    I haven’t needed to lately, but Im scared for if I need to restore my iPod. (I have had to do it once before) Im sure that it will delete the songs that have been preserved that were deleted on the tunes. One more thing, it APPEARS to be mixing up the artwork on the iPod itself with other artists. For example, my Kerli artwork is now my Matchbox 20 artwork and so on. That problem is only with a few songs though.

    Check your Preferences > Advanced > iTunes Music folder location to make sure that it is correct. Also, is "Keep iTunes Music folder organized checked"? Have you tried to Consolidate Library? (Note: I'm not saying to do that, yet, just asking if you have.) Have you used Windows Explorer to actually locate your music?
    I've seen where iTunes could be "missing" a song but not indicate it with the exclamation mark until some action is attempted -- moving, dragging, playing. For me it would be because I forgot to turn on the external drive where my music is stored. But then, once I mount the drive, I still have to point iTunes to its Music folder again.

  • At My Wits End - Please Help Before I Contact OFCO...

    I have been loyal BT customer since... well having a landline in my name.
    We have been experiencing problems with BT / BT Broadband now for over 3 months. During this period we have had over 6 engineer visits an countless phone calls to BT Customer Services and also their Priority Care desk and the problem is still not resolved.
    Over 3 weeks ago I also sent an email to BT asking for contact from someone residing in the UK that could assist with the issue. I asked for a response within 10 working days and stated failure to respond would result in contacting OFCOM, watchdog and/or Trading Standards.
    The problem comprises of two issues -
    1] very slow broadband connection - no more than 0.13Mb/s at best (and that is when we have a connection at all
    2] zero broadband connection
    The telephone line crackles badly too, but as the landline is only there for the broadband this doesn't really concern us too much. We use our mobiles for phone calls.
    A similar fault stems back to 2008 when we started experiencing slowing connection speeds, but after a service visit the fault appeared to be fixed until this time last year it slowed to a death again. Following another engineer visit connection stabilised at around 1Mb/s. Then 3 months ago the problem started all over again.
    Whenever I call the customer service line, we get routed to their call centre in India where we just keep being fobbed off by engineer visits by engineers that are either not capable of doing the work or do not have the time allocated to do a comprehensive service.
    We have been told a huge number of excuses (From aluminium in the ground running next to the cables to faults with our equipment in the house (which has all been replaced for new within the last 3 months) to "we can't find a problem") as to why the service is unstable and slow.
    Another Engineer is booked for tomorrow morning, but I am fairly confident they will not solve the issue.
    The lack of service is causing problems trying to sort out year end Self Assessment, book holidays, online banking etc... over and above communicating with family living abroad (via Skype) and general surfing - all things we can not do from work.
    I have a brief record of all the attempts to resolve the issue including records of speed tests. I can also get the entire case history from BT if necessary (as I think they are compiled by law to hand over any notes they have taken). I also obviously have a copy of the email sent to direct to BT.
    Can someone here please, please help or advise who I need to contact to get the issue sorted out for once and for all before I take the matter further?

    1) What is the maximum speed you can get in your area? Type your number into the box on the right of the following web page:

    It will tell you whether you can get BT Infinity and what your potential line speed is for your area.
    2) What package are you on? All BT packages are subject to a Fair Usage policy. Even if you are on the 'Unlimited' package your speed will be slowed down if you are a heavy user. Contact BT (call 150 from a BT landline) and choose the options concerning questions about products. Don't choose the fault options else you'll be put through to India. This way you will hopefully be put through to somebody in England as I was, and you can get the matter solved more easily. Try and find out whether your account / line has been put under Network Management.
    3) What products do you connect to the Internet with? Xbox? BT Vision? Give us a full list.
    4) As the above user imjolly said, run the BT speedtester and post some of your router information. A moderator then may be able to provide assistance.

    What is currently showing on the screen?
    Have you tried a reset by pressing and holding the Home and Sleep/Wake buttons?
    In the future, it might be best to leave other peoples devices alone.

    Hi,
    I have been trying very hard to understand what the problem I
    have been having is. Basically I am loading an external XML file
    into my FLEX app. I have add/update/delete functions that basically
    alter the existing XML tree. Everything is altered fine, as when I
    use Alert.show() to view the altered XML it is exactly how I wanted
    it. When it is altered I have it sent using http service to a PHP
    script that simply overwrites the existing file with the new
    altered XML. However, it seems that it will not send the XML,
    although it will send other values. I have tried copying the output
    XML and placing it in the PHP file and it works fine. There is
    definately something going wrong when sending the formatted XML to
    the PHP script. I have tried many combinations of .toString() and
    .toXMLString(). It seems complex XML will not work, as I have only
    had problems with this technique using the Rich Text Editor and
    with complex XML , such as the following structure...

    The reason all along was because I was using GET instead of
    POST! GET apparently can't handle the amount of characters, and I
    never use GET, yet the one time I decide to it sets me back about
    10 hours!!!

    Ok, so i always thought i was pretty tech savvy, but i have completely given up on what to do. I have a DV2945se 64 bit machine, and this is the second time i uploaded windows 7 64bit to it. a couple months ago my mother board went and i had to get it fix, probably due to the over heating of my laptop. but then i had reinstalled the original os and boom, over heating gone! problem is that now i reinstalled windows 7 and its right back to where it started, computer getting really hot and all. I'm scared its going break the mother board again and this is my main computer, PLEASE, help me

    I know thre reason, why on vista it's ok and on w7 it's not.
    On W7, do maximum power state of the processor to 99 percent. This is default on vista.
    It helped a lot of people.

  • Please help before I kill my computer

    Flash player screwed up after AVG malware/virus issue which highjacked my i.e. and caused it to have to operate in safe mode.  Have used malware bytes program for the issue and appeared to remove the malware.  Now flash player will not work.  Have used every microsoft fix it tool to repair internet explorer, windows, used mircrosoft security essentials numerous time for full virus scan, used adobe forum answers and installed flash player with download manager and manually. Still nothing.  The program shows in add/remove program menu but not in program files, or add on files in ie, no shockwave program found anywhere.  Used kill bit registry fix and still nothing.  I am using window 7-32bit, i.e. 8, microsoft security essentials.  PLEASE HELP!!!!!!  Wife is suffering becasue she cant play her facebook games.

    Hi, thank you for that information. I think you're wise in not using a System Restore at this time. With MBAM and MSE running full scans and not finding anything is a good thing.
    Now what I'd like you to do is go to this test site and let me know if you can see the Flash Player logo animate(spin).
    Also what Flash Player version is Displayed?

    Do this test with all browsers you may use.
    Then using IE, go to Tools, Manage addons and look for "Shockwave Flash Object". Is it Installed & Enabled? Also what version number?
    Go to Tools, Internet Options and under the Security Tab, make sure you have it set to Medium for the Internet Zone.

  • Can't get battery to charge - please help before I pull my hair out

    My daughter and I both have the Curve 8530, first, her battery didn't seem to hold a charge very long, then her charging port stopped working.  So we started swapping the batteries.  When hers was low, I would give her mine with more charge and charge up the other one, using it until the first one needed a charge.  That started getting more and more frequent, now, all of the sudden I can't get either one to charge in my phone.  Figured out that hers doesn't charge because it is broken.  We can see a piece of metal that should be on the little tab in the port, laying at the bottom of the port.  Mine is a little loose after 2 years, so I sometimes have to wiggle the connection or make sure I set it down and don't move it when it is charging.  However, this is making me crazy.  It was plugged into my computer usb to charge all night and was completely dead this morning.  Which, is not a big suprise as the usb port on my computer doesn't always like to charge the BB.  Gives me an error saying not enough power.  So I plugged in the wall charger and let it sit.  It gets far enough that it will start the OS, but then sat there for hours and never changed from red and didn't get even 1 bar of charge.  Usually it only take a short time.  I read another post about an internal circular battery under the sticker with all the identification numbers on it, but I don't see any battery resembling that and am not comfortable taking my BB apart like that.  So any suggestions as to what the problem might be?  Or how to fix it?  My daughter's, though she doesn't think so, is not near as important as having at least one battery for mine due to work, etc.  Thanks for reading and any help.

    I would suggest trashing the .itl and .xml files to make sure you start clean (quit iTunes before you trash the files, of course). Then use the Add Folder To Library command and select your iTunes Music folder. That should get everything back into iTunes, though you won't get any playlists back unless you made a backup of them.

  • SOMEONE PLEASE HELP BEFORE I THROW MY MAC OUT OF THE WINDOW!

    Is my setup useless?
    Logic crashes every time I open more than 1 external synth (e.g. predator, massive, ABL2). This occurs with no other instruments in the project.
    It cant seem to take the CPU.
    Here is what I have….
    Apple iMac Intel Core 2 Duo 1.83GHz 512MB (2x256MB) 160GB (upgraded with 2gig of ram – as much as it can take!)
    Logic 7
    OSX 10.4.11
    M Audio Oxygen V8 midi keyboard
    Memory 2GB667 MHz DDR SD RAM
    1.47gb memory free
    92.82gb space free on hard drive
    Can anyone offer some advice? Surely for what I have paid for the system, I should be able to get more out of it than this?…. is there anything else I can do to boost processing power?

    Hi David,
    Before sleeping out of your window waiting your Imac, maybe I would suggest couple things:
    - Getting LOGIC 7.2.3
    - Getting last M-AUDIO drivers (if lot compliant one)
    - Repair permissions with let's say ONYX software.
    - Are you using external firewire hardrive? (issue for some of Imac sometimes)
    if this still causes you troubles, then you 'll see my face outside your house with my arms ready.

  • PLEASE help before I throw my iMac G4 out of the apartment window

    Hello Apple Experts.
    I hope that you can help me out here before I throw my iMac G4 out of the apartment window!!!!
    I am having major problems with my wireless connection on my iMac G4(Uses original Airport Card).
    When I installed 10.4 the connection was just very weak and not all the bars on the Airport icon were highlighted.
    Also, on occasions the connection was totally lost and the iMac didn't even see the base unit (non apple) whilst it was switched on.
    Now that I upgraded to 10.4.10 (using the PPC combi update), the Imac does not see or connect to the base unit at all.
    As far as I know the card and antenna is conneted properly as I followed the Apple set up guide.
    I know that the base station is fine as I have another mac in the house that connects with no issues....
    I am wondering if there is a general issues with the iMac G4's connecting wirelessly with the Airport Card.
    It seems there maybe three problems here.
    1) There is an issues with the software update
    2) There is a problem with the Airport Card (although it is brand new)
    3) I need to configure someting to make it work!

    I'm getting the same problem. Probably since 10.4.10 but I can't be sure. I am have just been perplexed at why my other machines are working OK and my iMac G4 17" 1Ghz is having network problems. It has the original Aiport Extreme Card inside. I was Googling and saw a suggestion to delete all your "Network Locations" then start fresh. I've just tried that and I'm running a ping for a while to see how its performing. I think its improved but the signal read only 2 bars still when my MacBook Pro right next to it read 100%.
    Somebody must know something?

    Hi, I need help with my Airport Extreme (AE) please.
    History - I bought an AE last year as our network range was very limited - I'd previously tried upgrading routers and changing providers etc.  We're currently with Sky and have a sky router.
    Setup the AE and it changed our lives.  More than one connection could be supported at a time and even my son's X-Box connected easily, previously we had an ethernet cable running up the stairs. 
    We've got an iMac, 2 PC's (pretty old), a MacBook, 2 ipad and 2 iphones.  All worked well and we had no problems even when my son was on his X-Box live account.
    Then Lion X came out and we upgraded, bringing with it Airport Utility 6.0.  The airport extreme stopped working and we could no longer connect to the internet from upstairs.  Having read forums etc, I deleted AU 6.0 and reinstalled AU 5.6. 
    I can now get the AE up and running and AU 5.6 tells me it is reporting no problems and is connected to the internet.  However, although the AE is visible and responds to AU 5.6 it does not appear on the list of wireless networks on any device.  I've tried everything I can think of, reset the wireless router and the AE to factory settings many times - to the point where I'm doubting my own sanity.
    I tried today to re-install AU 6.0 but that turned out to be a minefield and I abandoned it. 
    All my wireless connections are in good order I've tested them all.  They can all see the AE through AU but not through Wi-Fi settings.  The light on the AE is green and AU tells me it is connected to the internet. 
    I'm PC literate and I know UNIX, pretty new to Apple though (apart from the iPhone).  I think the terminology is confusing me.  My experience of Wi-Fi has been pretty much plug and play and this is driving me nuts. 
    Any ideas?

    Hi, I've got it all working now but only by connecting my AirPort Extreme to the router via an Ethernet Cable.  The whole point is it should be wireless.  Can anybody point me in the right direction?

  • Array to DataGrid not working. Please help before I lose my mind (and my hair) completely.

    I'm new to the whole flex/as/flash builder, but I'm trying to do a seemingly simple thing and it's not working.
    Flex Mobile project has a button and data grid. When I press the button a 2 dimensional array is build with random numbers. Then I want to show the array on datagrid.
    The array does get build but it's not showing up on data grid.
    Any help would be appreciated as I've spent lots of time on this without any solution.

    Sorry, the <s:TextArea shouldn't be there, I was using it to debug the array. I removed the  <s:DataGrid> instead of <s:TextArea> by mistake.
