Please help choosing
I cant decide. I am looking at Toshiba A305-s6905 or Hpdv5-1235dx
I am leaning towards Toshiba as it is cheaper. I have a newer desktop and just need a basic laptop to search the web, email, pictures, etc... basic stuff. I dont do any gaming.
Which should I choose? Any other recommendations? I prefer a 15" screen.
Also, should I have best buy setup virus protection etc... or what program should I purchase to do it myself??
I have a linksys router already... is there anything else I need to begin to use the laptop??

Would your company consider getting a (Lenovo, Dell, HP or custom) computer from a specialty integrator rather than getting it directly from the vendor? The reason to go that way is two-fold:
the system will be custom-configured for the applications you will be using, i.e. there won't be a situation where in 6 months you'll realize the computer is inadequate for the task and will have to get another one
professional support not just for the system but for the application as well
If you (or your company) prefer standardized Tier 1 systems with on-site support and that are familiar to most technicians, HP (Z420, Z820), Dell (T3600, T7600) and Lenovo (S30, D30) workstations are the way to go. My company among others (B&H, Promax) sells and supports these.
If you or your company are OK with custom systems built out of COTS (commercial off-the-shelf, mostly gaming) components, then there is a wide choice of integrators including ADK mentioned previously, Puget, Safe Harbor. Those are usually less expensive than Tier 1 based ones.

Syncing and backing up in iTunes can be accomplished with multiple devices. They identify the devices based on the phone number, phone name, etc. The only way you would have an issue is if you were using different calendar contacts on the computer. http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1495

I am shellshocked.... so far I am not happy with Firefox's latest effort. When I first got this version, my 'saved tabs' function did not work, which I use regularly, and I lost vital site information with the update. I figured out how to fix this by changing a setting, and figured my problems were over.
But NOW without any prompting from me, Firefox re-opened, having lost the tabs I had, yet again, and instead opened up two new tabs, 'Welcome to FireFox' (ty for choosing firefox4), and 'Mozilla Firefox Start Page', AND I have lost all my bookmarks!, WTF! Please help me to restore them, I have tried the help info provided, but they are still not restored :( Some of those treasured bookmarks, an extensive list, I will never get again, unless I can restore the ones I had. :( NOT IMPRESSED AT ALL.Ok this is bizzare!
Thank you for your response, I went throught each and every step without any luck, even got the recovery programme, and painstakingly tried to sift through all that mumbojumbo to find what i needed. finally found the bookmark bit, but it had been fully overwritten :(, so on reading about previous ff versions, found the sqlite thingys, and they were relatively unscathed(partly written over, but saveable apparently TG), saved them to adiff drive, amongst other possibly good folders. Then looked up how to install them, and it said to close FF, and install to profile folder.
So i tried to close FF, and the original problem from a few days ago, where it asked me if 'i was sure i wanted to close this window as it has X tabs open', popped up again. This is where 'open blank page' selection was set, over 'open previous tabs'. Wanting to save that info on how to sort out these friggin files, I reset the Option to 'open previous tabs', and closed FF. After unsucessfully searching for the profile folder on my laptop, i opened FF intending to search online for where i could find said folder.
AND BANG, surprise surprise, the FF I had just closed with only tabs open about finding out what the heck to do, had disappeared, and instead my original saved tabs were up, and my bookmarks are there..... I am gobsmacked! what the heck just happened there???
I have made 3 back up in different folders now, of those friggin bookmarks. I am weary now tho of shutting it all down.... what if its back to the other pages I had with no bookmarks, tomorrow :( -
I recently restored my 2009 macbook to factory settings and now its stuck on the welcome screen where u choose your country. My trackpad allows me to move the arrow around but when I tap on it to select continue it does nothing at all. The only thing else it will allow me to do is go thru the voice over tutorial by pressing escape. Please help me fix this I need to use my computer.

I found a couple of resources to help troubleshoot the issue you are experiencing. The first is this article named Intel-based Mac notebooks: Troubleshooting unresponsive trackpad issues found here http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1248.
Try disconnecting the MagSafe connector from the computer and check the trackpad function. If the trackpad becomes responsive again, improper grounding may be the issue.
If a two-prong AC plug is being used with the power adapter, try using the three-prong power cable that shipped with your computer and plug it into a grounded outlet.
If the issue persists, make sure the third prong is present and do not use an adapter to enable the three-prong adapter to be used in a two-prong outlet. Note that the ground in the three-prong outlet may not be connected. This is common in older homes or buildings with replaced outlets. In these situations, the three-prong power cable will not improve trackpad responsiveness.
If a grounded outlet is not available, rest your palm on the palm rest when using the trackpad. This should enable the trackpad to function properly.
If that does not resolve the issue then I recommend resetting the SMC on your computer. Here is an article on how to do that:

This can be a problem with the file places.sqlite that stores the bookmarks and the history.

Read the steps in the support article from which you came carefully as the order in which you follow them is critical. Note that you can do this only when creating a new Apple ID. You cannot use an existing ID.
If you are certain you're following the steps exactly as given and are creating a new Apple ID and still have problems, go here:

Before I uppdated my os to Montaine Lion I could choose wide under screen in settings. I'll take an ex for you. If you have Apple Care, call them and get a case number. Otherwise, take the computer to an Apple store or an AASP. Whichever is more convenient for you.

Neeraj@iDevAfter a week's worth of debugging, I found the issue.
The Java type returned from the call was defined as ArrayList. Changing it to List resolved the problem.
I'm not sure why ArrayList isn't a valid return type, I've been looking at the Adobe docs, and still can't see why this isn't valid. And, why it works in Debug mode and not in Release build is even stranger. Maybe someone can shed some light on the logic here to me.
