Please Help Deadline Coming Up Dropping Frames

hello everyone. I am getting ready tired. I've burnt this project 9x already. I'm using iMovie 08 and I'm editing on a Macbook with an 500 gig firewire drive. The drive has 230 gigs left so it should have plenty to write a temp file for rendering. I got a Core Duo/ 2 gig proc and 2 gigs of RAM. the video is about 1hr30mins. I've tried reimporting into Garageband to set the chapters because they play back great in iMovie and in Quicktime. They play fine in the Garageband window for the preview under the media tab. then I mark my chapter points and I send to iDVD. this is where I think it's messing up. but once iDVD is up and running I will customize the menu. I've tried leaving Garageband opened while rendering and closing it while iDVD is rendering. I've tried closing every program down and even the task pane up in the right hand corner. i've even turned off Airport. Either way I do it I am either dropping frames like crazy or this last time the video sped up. Audio sounds great on all the DVDs it's just an issue with the video. So it's either speeding up or mostly slowing down. Right now the only other thing I know is to wait 2 hrs for the old iMovie to import the video and do the chapters there (WHICH SHOULD BE LIKE THAT IN THE NEW iMOVIE). I definitely don't get that reasoning from Apple. Let Garageband do it's own thing and leave the video to the video apps. Ok well I'm sorry I'm just trying to beat a schedule.
P.S. was running Leopard and thought it might be an issue so I reformated and reinstalled Tiger. So it's on a fresh machine. all the patches updated for mac os x tiger and all of my apps. I've even tried different hard drives. I was editing on a 250 gig firewire drive and went out thinking this 500 gig would work.

I have recently just upgraded from my old white powerpc G5 which did not allow me to edit in HD and I had to down convert all my footage to edit in DV. I have bought the newest FCP studio, and I had to order a new firewire as my new desktop does not take the old one that I had before. The new firewire that I have which is the only one that fits into my iMac from my sony Z1 is a Firewire IEEE1394-B (800) 9 pin to 4 pin .
My Mac : Processor- 2.8 GHz Intel Core i5
Memory- 4GB 1333 MHz DDR3
All my settings are set to HD and the ilink convert is off, and VCR is set to auto. Why is it not reading my Z1???

Please help...Dropped frames while capturing from Canon XL2 to FCP!!!!

Can be many things but - as it is a miniDV tape Camera
• connects via IEEE 1394 also called FireWire
A. is it recorded by the same Camera ?
B. is it recorded in SP or LP-mode ?
If recorded in LP-mode - Then You must use same Camera as recorded the tape - That's why I recommend to NEVER use this - when Camera dies so does the tapes.
I used iMovie HD6 as intermediat tool to capture (as it's not so sencitive to drop-outs as FCE/P) - and this I set to NOT import as individual clips. Then I Copied back to a new tape - BUT this time Camera was set into SP-mode.
Eventually one can do a Camera to Camera Copy with receiving Camera set to SP-mode (but I'm not sure it works) (the new tape I pre-record with just any thing of no importance to get a full continuous Timecode - then I use this to take the Copy)
Why I'm not 100% clear is due to that it is about 10 years ago I had this dilemma.

Drag and drop application does not work in Flash Builder 4.6.
However, the same source will work with Flash Builder 4.5.

- If you have installed on pc, does not work adobe air drag and drop
[Solution]
1. Reinstalling the Windows 7 (32bit).
2. Install Flash Builder 4.5.
3. Flash Builder 4.5.1 updater and Flash Builder 4.6 does not install.
   (Instead of using Flex SDK 4.6 is set up)
In addition, Windows7 64bit environment does not work drag and drop.
Is there another solution?

Help imorting OLD VHS, dropping frames

Hi I'm trying to import an old concert video I have on VHS and I keep getting dropped frames when I play it back. The tape has some issues, but it plays. I'm importing through my Canon ZR70, when I watch what's coming through the ZR70 there are no issues, it is gettting everything, but I'll lose little seconds here and there on my capture, which obviously with audio sounds like a skip. Any settings, or things I can try to fix this?

If you are capturing the material directly to the system drive, that's likely your problem. Video puts demands on a drive that the system drive often can't support.
Get a firewire exeternal drive. Recognize that your Canon camera may cause problems if you try to use it in a controlled capture process. I wouldn't think it would be an issue in a non-controllable device capture.

PLEASE HELP crop my video in frame before transferring it to DVD

Please help. I don't know how to crop specific clips that the camera may have shot off-balance, something I did very easily in Elements 9. Plus once that gets taken care off, how do I transfer it to dvd? The setup is completely different from Elements 9.

PLEASE HELP DEADLINE PENDING...layer break range?

when i try to burn my dvd..and im pretty sure i did everything properly...i get this error msg:
Formatting was not successful. A suitable marker could not be found in the required layer break range. See the DVD Studio Pro User's Manual for more information.
Does anyone know what this means..i have no clue
please help..this project is due tomorrow at 10am

Some more details on how to set the break, basically there needs to be a marker at the point (can be more than one point) described by Max Average.
So you need to set a Dual Layer Break Point?
Since you are using a Dual Layer Disc, there has to be a break point where it crosses over from Layer 0 to Layer 1, if you have no Chapter Markers at all (or a limited number of Markers, none of which fall near the point where more than half the project will be placed on Layer 0) (Was your test project a DVD-9 also?) -- In general, Layer 0 has to be bigger than Layer 1
What you do is
1.) Set up markers in the areas where your would guesstinmate the Layer Break(s) should be
2.) Build the project (but not format)
3.) Format a Disc (in the dialog that comes up, click on advanced tab, then where it says break point, use the pulldown which will have all valid breakpoint markers dark/black, while non-valid Layer Break Markers will be faded) and selct one of the darkend selections.
4.) Press burn

Help changing ProRes to dropped frame.

I need to change a ProRes file to dropped frame. I right clicked the time code but it does not give me the option. I Tried turning the colons to semi-colons. Wondering what else I can do. Any suggestions?

I just figured it out. I created a new sequence with the correct frame rate and then dropped the file in. It converted it to the correct specs. Thank you though.

I am trying to write a short AS3 script in CS4 that allows me to step backwards and forwards through an animation.
I have a stop button a play button , rewind button and a forward button.
the buttons work ok apart from when I hit the rewind button sometimes it jumps to the start of the timeline rather than just step back a frame at a time.
when I use the stop button and the timeline stops where it is, the rewind button steps back as required. but, if the rewind button is clicked first it jumps to the start of the timeline, I know the theory as to why I cant get this to work. I need to know how to increment an integer variable (counter) to increment as the animation playes. i.e. the counter variable to match the frame number. below is the code I have, could someone please tell me how to match an integer variable to the current frame and tell me where to insert the line of code on the listing. I have added a dummy line or psuedo line of code to show what I am trying to do, but the syntax is wrong .

Linked fields not working correctly- PLEASE HELP DEADLINE LOOMING!

I have two tables. The first is called Orders and contains a autonumber field named ID. This field is linked to a field named OrderID in another table named ProductOrders. I am using a submission form with a cfinclude to submit to both tables. There should only be one Orders.ID and numerous ProductOrders.OrderID (but they should be the same number). When I submit the form there are no error messages but the ProductOrders.OrderID is blank and therefore not linked to Orders.ID. What should I be looking for? I have linked the fields in Access in properties and relationships. What else?

Please help!! Wifi drops every 3-5 mins!!!

I have iMac mid-2011, Yosemite 10.10.3, my wifi drops every 3-5 mins, have to run diagnostics to reconnect. Don't know when it started because I used to use cable, but now have to use wifi!!! I even formatted my mac disk and did a clean install of Yosemite! Pz somebody help! Nothing seems to work!

Can' creat a Book in iPhoto 08! Please Help Xmas coming!!!!

I have a problem! I want to make a book with iphoto but every Time I click on the book sign or any other way to create a new book I can select the theme and size but when I press "select" it does not create any thing. When I click on the calendar or card button there is no problem it opens and I can edit it. But I want a book not a calendar.
I'm running Iphoto 08 in the version 7.1.5 and snow Leopard 10.6.2
hope you can help me soon on the german site for iPhoto orders it says that I have to send the order before the 17. of December to get it on time.

quit iPhoto and delete the iPhoto preference file ("your user name" ==> library ==> preferences ==> com.apple.iPhoto.plist) - launch iPhoto and reset any personal preferences you have changed and if you have moved the location of the iPhoto library repoint to it

Please help: Populating values in drop down list by onchange - javascript !

I am working on a task - I need to populate drop down named "year" dynamically (from database) depending upon the select of an element from drop down list "carLine" . I am calling javascript funtion on onchange event of the html select and setting property of the selected element.The environment is Struts and dynaactionform is being used . Here is the my html select for both the drop down list s and javascript funtion to set value. The getYears method is defined in the locatoraction action class. But after doing all these carLine is not getting populated with the values corresponding to selected carline.
Database side is working fine .

My code worked perfectly fine after adding separate action mapping for Year and using that as action in the form though the new action mapping point to the same action class locatorAction ..I still do not understand the reason behind this exactly(any suggestion are most welcome) but it works. i installed the CC trial so i can do my photos quickly, however after opening it and clicking on continue trial it then crashed the internet and my software, told me to uninstall then reinstall product but as i am under cloud it says its all up to date and im not sure where to go from here, if anyone can direct me to a link i can download or purchase ADOBE PHOTOSHOP CS 5.1 which is my fav version i will be most happy

Premiere saving files at 1.5gb please help (Deadline Friday)

Running Premiere CS6 on Windows 7
My original file won't open.
When I open an auto save file which is 50,751 kb
MAKE NO CHANGES AT ALL
Re save the file on the same disc or another it makes the file size 1,505,879 kb
Really appreciate any help.

Solved this problem by opening a new project and importing my autosave file.
Now saved at a much lower size
