Please help. Driver problem on windows 8

HELP!! I can't install the AMD graphic driver (both discrete & switchable) on my G470.
I have a Windows8 OS.
If I use the drivers "9000discrete" and "9000muxless" which I have downloaded from the Lenovo support. it seems like nothing happened. I tried everything. I uninstall the AMD Catalyst control and then reuse the 9000discrete I received an error that says "Your device is not installed or is not working properly." something like that. If someone knows a solution to this problem I really really need your help. PLEASE

i have same question

  • Please Help! Problems with Windows Vista 32-bit on Boot Camp (Wireless/Etc)

We recently purchased a new aluminum Mac Book (13 inch) with Leopard (10.5.4). I attempted to install Boot Camp and Windows Vista 32-bit. I can successfully alternate between both operating systems with no problems. However, I am having 2 problems:
    1) I cannot connect to wireless internet. No connections will even show up when I attempt to connect, its almost as if an adapter hasn't been installed.
    2) I cannot set up the trackpad to do right click.
I've read articles everywhere and nothing has helped. Can anybody please help me??? Any support/advice is greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!

    Welcome to the Apple discussions.
It appears that you may not have installed the boot camp drivers. Boot into Windows and insert your Leopard installation disk in the CD/DVD drive. This should automatically begin installation of the necessary drivers. Reboot the computer when instructed and all the hardware should work as designed.
The right click is accomplished by placing two fingers on the trackpad and then depressing the trackpad button. This should also work after the drivers are installed as instructed above.

(Windows 7) I would really like to hear my songs all the way through, but I can't . I tried the "Convert Protected ACC files to Purchased ACC files fix" but it DIDN'T work. I don't know what to do. Driver problems with Windows Professional XP 64bit Edition

Well, after looking around the forum here I found an answer that works! I wish I could remember who to give credit too though. I installed the latest Vista drivers and I got static all the time. I tried another members suggestion of disabling the X-Fi device in the Device manager every time I log off and then enable the X-Fi the next time I log in. I have great sound as long as I do that. Also, for connecting to a home system I am using the DTS-60, $00 on this website, but it works well if you havea DTS decoder. I am using the X-Fi extreme Music edition. Good Luck, hopefully another driver is on the way.

  • PLEASE, PLEASE HELP: Big problems with my Zen Touch. (Firmware/driver issu

    So here's the deal:
Last night I thought I'd finally take the time to upgrade my Zen Touch to 2. from .3 or something like that. I noticed that there was a warning saying that this was no small upgrade, and that I should back up everything I have on it.
I'm glad I did, because now my MP3 player situation is seriously screwed up, big time. During the upgrade process, my computer froze, leaving my Zen Touch without firmware (ok, so firmware version 0.0.0). Upon turning the device on, it boots up in recovery mode. This allows me to either format, clean up, or "reupload" firmware. I've tried all of these options, but the fact is clear that my computer simply will no longer recognize my MP3 player.
It does, however, recognize it at as a generic storage device. However, this isn't enough for me to reinstall the player's firmware unfortunately.
So basically, I can't update driver or firmware right now, because my computer won't acknowlege my Zen Touch!
    Somebody please, please help.
I've already tried using the setup file from http://www.jumpingcholla.com/jce_nomad_ZEN.htm.
    Seriously, please help!

    Sort of success!
I now finally have firmware 2. installed on my Zen Touch! Yeah! I'm not entirely sure how I did it, and I'm not bothering to find out, I'm just glad I finally got it on there.
But some problems still remain. After all this fiddling with my driver and firmware and whatnot, my computer just doesn't see my MP3 the same way as it used to. Before, it was great, all I had to do was plug her in and I could bring up Zen Explorer in Windows Explorer, or organize my stuff in Creative MediaSource.
Now that's not the case. The only way I can sort of add stuff to my player now is by going into Windows Explorer, which is still more or less acknowleging my player as a "portable device". Granted, there is a dri've called "My Zen", but it doesn't bring up Zen Explorer like it used to when I click on it. Furthermore, when I go into MediaSource, I can't select it as a location, there just isn't anything there.
It almost seems as if my computer thinks I'm just using a portable hard dri've. Is there anyway I can tell it that it's an MP3 player, too?
    Thanks!

  • Nvidia Geforce 650m driver problem for windows 8.1 on macbook pro

Hey guys. I installed windows 8.1 on my macbook pro (mid2012, Intel core i7, retina, Geforce 650m) of course only for game, but I have a disappointing problem with the graphics driver. First I tried to instal graphics card driver by bootcamp (not the last version, the one before the last) .It started to install drivers one by one starting with graphics card, but suddenly the screen got black and remained black forever! I restarted the windows and guess what! after windows logo it got black and nothing more! Then I installed windows again and tried to install driver from windows update. It checked for update and found the driver for it and downloaded it and started to install, but again the black screen !!! Please help me thanks.

    DemetriAA wrote:
no this does not work. bootcamp drivers are broken for windows 8.1 on an efi install. apple is withholding the discreet gpu drivers from microsoft to trick people into thinking osx is more stable/efficient and thus windows cannot detect which gpu it is supposed to use when it can see both. the discreet gpu is hidden in the fake bios setup that bootcamp wants you to install with. the problem with doing this is that the more powerful gpu is all you can use in windows so the computer runs more hot and is louder which is annoying and hard on the battery life.
thanks apple, if i knew that when i bought the laptop i would have gone with something else.
This is not correct. If you force an EFI installation on a preUEFI Mac, you will see GPU and Audio errors. A non-EFI Hybrid MBR installation works correctly. Does Windows have the ability to switch GPUs? OS X, using external monitors, uses the non-Intel discreet GPU and the machine does not run hot. If Windows can provide dual-GPU support (which they have) and also provide GPU-switching (missing), this can be done. Can it be done for older hardware, highly unlikely. MacRumors has threads with PCI Register changes to expose the Intel GPU and the machine still runs hotter.

  • Vivtar Webcam driver problem in Windows 7 Enterprise x64

Hi all, I had not long purchased a Vivitar DVR 708HD Camcorder and the camera itself is rather poor, but I was impressed with it's webcam function back when I had it working on a different computer. I'm not an amature as I'm usually quite good at finding
device drivers as I did a lot of manual driver installations in Windows 98 and 95 but this one as stumped me. The even more annoying thing is, I have lost the OEM disk for the camera (although, I wasn't entitrely sure if it contained a device driver for it)
and I have got it to work once but that was in Windows 7 Ultimate x86. Now my computer is running a 64 bit version of Windows (Windows 7 Enterprise to be precise, as described in the title) and I know some drivers do not like running in 64 bit if they are
not native to them but I was wondering if anybody possibly knows how to sort this. If it is a compatibility issue with 64 bit operating systems then so be it but I was hoping somebody could assist me with this and possibly find a driver solution to work this
    camera.
If you need the Hardware Identifications here they are:
    USB\VID_04FC&PID_1628&REV_0100&MI_02
    USB\VID_04FC&PID_1628&MI_02
I suppose it could also be possible that Vivitar features a different type of Firmware for this cameras I'm not sure but good luck if you can help!
    -Matthew

    64-bit Windows requires 64-bit drivers.
You will have to contact Vivitar for assistance with your problem.  Vivitar has sole responsibility for support of their products.

  • Please help, oracle 8i on windows xp?

Can oracle 8i run on windows xp?
When I tried to run setup, it did abolutely nothing. I can't find any information on oracle's web site about this and the only relevant forum post that I found was by someone that was having the exact same problem, but no one answered him.
    Thanks in advance,
    Joey

    Hi all,
I'm trying to install Oracle 8i on Windows-xp
Professional. it gets installed but runs only once.
that means its fails to run once I shut down the
system and restart & shows the message-"oracle not
found" or "tns server is not found". Can anybody
please help me? Thanks in advance. When attempting to install obsolete software on modern operating systems, one must expect problems. I've found that Oracle tends to survive well when installed on a supported platform which is upgraded, but there are usually issues when attempting a fresh install on a newer platform.
Your problem states "Oracle Not Found". Therefore your OS services know that they should be attempting to connect to an Oracle database but the database is 'not found'. Further, it says that the TNS Server is not found. TNS is Oracle's term for 'on the network'.
Is there a business reason that requires you to run obsolete software? If the database software MUST be obsolete, what is the logic behind upgrading the operating system? (In other words - why only upgrade one?)
You need to check the following things:
    1) You have a static IP address and host name, and are NOT using DHCP;
(look at or post the result of command line "ipconfig /all")
    2) Check whether the Oracle database service and the listener service are running;
(Under "Start > Settings > Control Panel > Administration Tools > Service" or command line services.msc)
    3) Tell us how well the listener is running;
    (Command line "lsnrctl status")

  • Bootcamp Driver Problems in Windows 8

I use a MBP 13" 2010 model, and I've used it for a long time, but it's never had any problems with Bootcamp until now.
Last month I bought a copy of Windows 8 Pro x64 (disc) and I wanted to install it on my recently clean-installed Mac. I installed it with no problems using Bootcamp. Booting into Windows 8, I found that the Bootcamp Drivers weren't compatible with Windows 8, but I looked up a guide that told me just to install the drivers one by one. I did that and rebooted.
The drivers still didn't work for some reason. The brightness controls weren't adjustable, the keyboard shortcuts didn't work, the trackpad failed as well, and numerous other problems plagued me in Windows mode. I re-installed the drivers and rebooted, but it still didn't work. I even installed the Nvidia display driver seperately, but no go. Is this Bootcamp's problem? Most likely the driver's out of date.
So I'm stuck using my office computer now, until I can find a way to fix this. Any help would be appreciated.

    defan752,
I recently put Windows 8 (64bit) on my 15" 2009 MBP. I performed a clean install utilizing Boot Camp. I followed instructions found online. Prior to installing Win8, I had WinXP installed on a partition, which worked perfectly.
For my Win8 installation I upgraded my MBP's OS from Snow Leopard to Mountain Lion. Mountain Lion comes with a newer version of Boot Camp (version 4.0 - I believe). The newer version has a slightly different process for driver installation. It has you create a driver installation disc within the Boot Camp Asstant software running on my Mac BEFORE creating the partition and installation. First it will connect to the interenet and download the latest support files for the drivers for your machine, then it will ask you to insert a blank disc, upon which it will write Windows friendly installation file (the disc contained an executable file [.exe] which is to be run on the newly installed windows parition). While Boot Camp (4.0 or whatever it is that came with Mountain Lion) doesn't have official support for Windows 8, utilizing the Windows 7 installation method will create a Driver CD that works in Win8. After creation of driver disc, follow the normal installation instructions (create partition, install win8). Once Win8 finishes installing, go to the desk top (Windows Button + D), pop in the driver disc and the Executable file. After the file runs the drivers will be installed but will require a reboot in order to be utilized. Reboot your machine and you should be good to go.
NOTE: hold on to that driver disc, I have already had to use it to repair some of my drivers that got messed (my own fault, not mac's or MS) and reran the executable file which fixed everything again.
NOTE: You will be able to utilize much of the drivers in the Win8 environment, however there are limitations. While the trackpad supports multitouch, it is limited (two finger right click, two finger scrolling). The nifty new multitouch gestures in Win8, are not yet supported. I suspect they will be with future updates to these drivers. But we won't get that until Boot Camp can fully support Win8. Also I noticed that my speakers don't switch to headphones when I plug them in, nor does it recognize the toslink connection. I'm still looking for answers to those problems.
For more details regarding the driver support in Windows 8 running on a Mac i found this website useful:

  • Please Help Printer Problems

I have just bought an Airport Extreme Base Station. I have a Mac Book, iBook G3 and a Win XP Laptop that I have so far connected to the network.
On the base station itself I have a Western Digital My Book External Hard Drive and an HP Photosmart C4180 all in one printer connected via a USB hub.
All the computers can see the external hard drive but I can only get the Win XP Laptop to print. The two Apple laptops will not print.
One last thing all my computers connected to the internet wirelessly via my BT Fusion Home Hub before buying the base station. When I first installed the base station I connected the WAN port to the BT hub. As far as the base station is telling me everything must be setup right as I have the solid green light.
What am I doing wrong. Please help I love Apple products and really do not want to send this back.

I'd like to suggest you go to www.tune-up.com and download and install this program.
You get a 30 day free trial to start. If you sign up as a reseller you can get the program for $29 after that.
I'm not an employee of the company but I just recommend the program as it has fixed many a friends
problems and has kept my computers and my familys computers running straight and clean with no problems.
Even if you don't buy the program after using it and it fixes your problems you can uninstall it and consider it a blessing.
I'm sure once you see what it can do you will think twice to buy it.
Other than that, I don't know much about your system to even begin to try to tell you what to do as a troubleshooter.
It could be any number of things that are wrong with it. Number one, the registry might be really messed up.
Tune-up will fix that fix off for you. A computer is like a car, it has to be kept in tune in order to keep running right.
Another problem area is malware and viruses. We all know about them but do we ever really know if we might have been bit
by any of them. Most times not until something serious causes us problems. Can I suggest another program you might try?
AVG Internet Security 2011 at www.avg.com.  It's another 30 day free trial program. I am also a reseller and have all my computers
and family members registered and using it.
I can tell you that with only these two programs installed on your computer you can rest easy and use your computer without any fears or problems.    Let me know how it goes for you. Good luck.

Hello!?My rear channels stopped working, I am thinking it might have happened because of the recent windows update. I have Audigy2 ZS Platinum Card and Logitech 5. speakers. Please help, I tried drivers from CD and the one on the website, no luck

I doubt if the recent windows updates has anything to do with your rear speakers. I have all the recent updates and my speakers are working fine. you could go the Add/Remove program and uninstall the updates. Then you would know for sure if that caused the problem.

  • Please Help, Numerous Problems

Had a problematic iPod not being recognized by windows, resetted, remformmated everything. Sent it back, got a new one. reinstalled itunes, reinstalled ipod update, same problem. Only now, it's stuck on do not disconnect whenever plugged in and whenever not plugged in displays the exclamation and folder with www.apple.com/ipod/support written underneath. Please help me, i am really upset as I have been having these problems for a long time

Well, I've now gotten back to the point where it's the iTunes problem again, my pc recognizes that my ipod is plugged in, but iTunes doesn't. And I tried updating the software, but it says that the ipod isn't supported.
I guess this makes me more certain that I'm going to switch to OS X and get a powerbook. I highly doubt that Macs have these problems with ipods. I guess I could get mad at Apple and say it's their fault, but my guess is it's a software issue, one relating to XP, oh well.
