Please HELP!! Finals are due, and I Cant get past Kernel Error
I forced a shutdown holding the power button and now every time I turn on the Imac I am instructed to restart it, in several different languages. This screen comes up just after the "ping" when I turn it on and after the apple logo appears.
So far I have restarted it holding the power button down for 5 seconds. Resetting the PRAM with "apple" "option" "p" and "r". Restarting in safe mode holding the "shift" key. Attempting to reboot from the instal CD disk 1 holding either the "option" key, the "x" key or the "c" key - when I do this the spinning gear appears for about 90 seconds and then reverts back to the restart kernel panic screen. I have also tried starting from the power source alone without the battery inseted. No Luck. And I ran a check of the hardware, holdig dowm the "d" key on start up with the disk inserted. No problems found.
At this point, I just want to re-install the OS. I dont care about losing my data.
No you do not need an activation code however I would be wary of buying a copy off of CL. I suspect someone used it to upgrade and is now selling it. If that is the case that is a violation of the licensing agreement and considered theft. The upgrade is only $29 however it's controversial whether it's legal to go from Tiger to Snow Leopard using that. If you want to stay within the licensing boundaries you can get the family pack which I found on Amazon for only $44. Another thought is the Snow Leopard Box Set which includes Snow Leopard, iLife 09 and iWork 09, this is more expensive but gets you the most current products. I've found that on Amazon for $132 and Ebay for $105 (Buy Now) including free shipping. If you want the most up to date apps that's the way to go and then you're fully within the licensing boundaries.
Regarding messaging me via the forum, I don't believe there is.

hello I was updating my phone earlier today and it had the connect to iTunes sign on it and I cant get past that sign. I put it up to iTunes and its still doing the same and on my computer it is saying it cant reset my phone. what do I do?

If you see the "connect to iTunes" screen on your iPhone, that means its in Recovery Mode and needs to be restored.

Please help - finally installed Leopard and can't login
Okay, so I finally stepped into Y2K and joined the rest of the world (albeit a bit late) in installing Leopard on my laptop. However, when I get to the screen where it asks for name and password, I don't know what to enter and no matter what I try I keep getting the annoying little shaky thing when I do it wrong, time after time.
I have never had a user id or password, so I don't know what to do here. I am not very tech savy, so please have patience with me. I know that when I used to try to install software, or download an update in 10.3, I was prompted for a password. Is that what they are looking for here? Or are they asking for something completely different? I don't even know what to put as my user name either.
I have scoured the forums and support sites reading about people with similar issues (from 2 years ago... I know)and they keep directing me to different sites. I have tried everything, and nothing seems to work.

But I got a message saying that my password change would affect my keychain, but not my login (which does me no good if I can't log in!)

But as I was typing the part (dscl . -delete /Users/username AuthenticationAuthority), I was getting an error that said something like "NoNode..." or something like that. So I couldn't get this to work either.
My computer says my name (Erik Lundeen) on the startup screen, but I think my profile name is simply "erik". I have tried both of these as options to log in, as well as my password (the one I used to get asked for in 10.3 when I would install or update something)... which is simply and originally "mypass". But that doesn't work either.

yes, you did. every user has an id and a password. the password may be empty but it's there.

no, that's wrong. it's the other way around. it will change your login password but not your keychain password so you won't have access to your old saved passwords unless you can recall what your old password was. use the link above. -

You should be importing pics to your computer regularly as you would with any digital camera. Nothing should only be on your iphone. You should keep everything on your computer.
If you have failed to do this, then they are gone.
You can try restoring from backup. -

i was getting to know my firefox so i accidentally unmarked the menu bar the book marks tool bar and the tool bar. so now only my tabs are visible and i cant get to any of my add-ons or extensions.
and even surfing the net has become difficult cause there is almost nothing i can do with a new empty tab.
how can i get these bars back. i tried taking the cursor up to the thin line above the tabs and the window border but the menu to mark the above mentioned features does not appear any more.
i tried restarting firefox several times but it didn't work. i even uninstalled and completely downloaded a new version of firefox and installed it but the problem still persists.
i am operations system is windows XP.Firefox 3.6+ versions have a feature to allow the user to hide the Menu bar.

i have a new iphone 5c and i cant get past the security questions. i made my apple account a while ago with an old email. i created a new apple id with my new email but i dont use it. How do i terminate the account with my new email so i can replace my old email? If i reset my security questions will it delete all my stuff?
You can't delete an iTunes account, but you should be able to change the email address that is on it e.g. by tapping on it in Settings > iTunes & App Store on your phone and logging into it, via the Store > View Account menu option on your computer's iTunes, or via http://appleid.apple.com - you should then be able to put it on your old account.
For your security questions on your old account, if you have a rescue email address (which is not the same thing as an alternate email address) on that account then the steps half-way down this page will give you a reset link on your account : http://support.apple.com/kb/HT5312
If you don't have a rescue email address or don't have access to that email account (you won't be able to add one or change it until you can answer your questions) then you will need to contact iTunes Support / Apple in your country to get the questions reset.

When they've been reset you can then use the steps half-way down the HT5312 link above to add or update your rescue email address for potential future use
Resetting an account's security questions shouldn't affect any of the purchases that you've made on the account. -

Look no further help is here! Let's get those text messages going on your computer. You need to download the desktop client http://www.verizonwireless.com/wcms/consumer/products/verizon-messages.html to your computer to use Message +. Were you already using Message + on your phone?
What phone do you have? You mentioned the phone crashed. What issues are you having with the phone?

Please help-I was just informed I cant activate my CS software through Adobe?!!! What a pisser-I lost my desktop to a virus, I got a new one and refuse to ever go online with it. I put @Photoshop in, it wants an authorization code that Adobe says "CS is too old so please go to our forum for help"... So I am here Ladies and Gentlemen. I really need help on how to reactivate my software and without the use of the internet (last time I tried online, ended up doing over the phone which is no longer offered...) that cost me several hundred to begin with-I am upset @Adobe won't activate it-why? Why doesn't firefox open youtube videos, istead whole server get jam.
Only way to get out is stop process. When open videos sound and music is playing, but video stops after 0-2 second. Then firefox is jammed, nothing works.
