PLEASE HELP!! Getting charged for bogus unused data

someone please tell me why that every morning when i leave for work, the instant i walk out my door onto data off mY WiFi i get hit with ungodly data usage?? i mean for example one morning was 80% of a GIG used. now i remind u that i am sleeping all night and on wifi so how does this happen? also exactly 6 hours later i get hit with another chunk of data usage..
This happens every day i leave the house for work  530am and exactly 6 hours later at 1130.. of course customer service over the phone cant help even tho they agree it doesnt look right and at the store they dont know.. 
I had the phone reset to factory settings and now again a few days later its starting again.. someone, anyone  if you know whats up please help!!

In your settings turn off update over cellular and chane it to update only on wifi. Additionally turn off automatic updates to your phone apps, they update on cellular unless you also change the settings to update over wifi only.
when at home and on your home wifi, turn off cellular data, and turn off cellular data roaming this should force the device to not use cellular data.
You need only turn on "cellular data" after you leave from home.
Now since verizon went to metered or tiered data use they have been raking in the cash in overage fees. I would not trust their accounting methods. I firmly believe this is a scam on the customers. Read the threads on this forum where people who never used more than 1GB or 2GB are now seeing huge data overages. It is very questionable in my opinion.

    Are you getting any prompt that you have to purchase the subscription as you launch the software. If yes then along with that message you will see an option "license this software", click on it and sign in with your Adobe id to activate the subscription.

    Surely it just gets counted as a seperate text if anything.

    If you have unlimited texting, then you should not be charged... your friends may be if they do not, however.

  • How do you get charge for visual voicemail?

    After reading a couple of post and being completely confused by them I tried an experiment. I turn airplane mode on and then proceed to check my voicemail from earlier.
    The voicemail played without me connecting to AT$T. So this verifies that the actual voicemail is someone being pushed over to your phone. WHich explains why you can now play the voicemail in any order. (it's like playing songs like your ipod basically)
    So then here's the question: DO we still get charged for listening to the message itself?
    ON a traditional cell phone everytime you listen to a voicemail message you lose airtime according to how long you listen to that message. No with the iphone things are different. Voicemails are storage on the handset and not located at at&t.
    Based on what i am reading there are two parts to the visual voicemail. 1.) the actual service that is "pushing" the voice messages to the iphone and 2.) listening to the messages
    Since the message is already on the iphone there is no way for at&t track how many times or how long you've been listening to your voicemail.
    So 2 things can happen. 1.) the visual voicemail plan actually covers the whole thing. Listening to messages on the phone and the service that does the pushing.
    or 2.) as someone earlier posted, you still get charged for voicemail. It's charged before it's been pushed to your phone. So if X calls me and leaves me a 5 minute message, i will lose 5 minutes of airtime before before i even had a change to check the message.
    NOw if number is true then that would suck.

    There's a flat rate fee for the visual voicemail service that is included in the $20/month iPhone data plan.
    The information gets sent via the Edge network to your phone, where it is stored until you delete it.

    I am assuming you are refering to charges for using Nokia Maps.
    Firstly there is no charge to use nokia maps to locate you position and to download any maps you want. So all map updates are also free.
    You will however have to pay for navigation if you wish to get turn by turn instructions. There are various rates for navigation. You can buy a single country or regions (eg. western Europe) for different durations such as a week, a month, a year etc. There used to be a 3-year license but I am not sure if this is still available.
    Typical costs depending on country/region for a 1 week license is around €7.99, 1 month €8.99, 1 year €79.99 and 3 years €89.99. I got the 3 year license for Western Europe and everytime I go away on holidays I might get the 1 week or 1 month license for the region I am visiting.

    I have never heard of an app charging for updates. As far as I know, you have to also allow in app purchases to download. If it is a subscription of some sort, you have to cancel it. Deleting the app does not cancel the subscription.

    There is no charge for storage on an iPhone - you may be confusing iCloud or you cellular data plan or something else.
    You can cancel iCloud's extra storage, however you would lose the items stored in iCloud, which may be the only backup of the iOS device.
    You should make a note of where you see the request & provide more info here otherwise we can only guess at what you may be referring to.
