Please help - horrid crackling noise ruins mp3s - more info

I have just realised that infact all the music that I imported from my friend's computer, that played fine in the old i-tunes, is covered in this horrible crackling noise in i-tunes 7.
My friend's computer is a windows pc and i imported the files via our ethernet. The crackling sounds seems to happen when the pitch of the music gets too high.
If anyone can tell me what i can do about this I would be very very grateful.

Check your import settings. If the bit rate is set too low, the music will sound like crap. If it is less than 64kbps, reimport it at a higher bit rate (I suggest 128 if you have enough space for it). Remember to reimport the original files (the non-crappy sounding version) or else it won't improve.

If the System Profiler application isn't in the /Applications/Utilities/ folder, the More Info button will be dimmed. Look for this application elsewhere on your hard disk; if it isn't on the hard disk, use Pacifist to extract it from your Mac OS X installation disks and then run the combo updater for your version of Mac OS X.

I went to http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1925 and did a complete removal and reinstallation of iTunes. You MUST follow the directions here exactly...it's more than just iTunes that must be removed, and it MUST be done in the order in which the support article says. I followed the exact instructions, and iTunes is back on my machine (no more C runtime error) and you do NOT lose your music...it's all in my library, as it was before.

Click here and follow the instructions. You may need to completely remove and reinstall iTunes and all related components, or run the process multiple times; this won't normally affect its library, but that should be backed up anyway.

By 'won't accept them' you mean ... ? Are you getting an error message ?
For a credit card to be accepted (debit cards and prepaid cards won't be) it needs to be registered to exactly the same name and address (including format and spacing etc) that you have on your iTunes account, and have been issued by a bank in the country where you and your iTunes account are.

Please help with Horrible noises on Win 7 64bit install?

? I have an X-fi xtrememusic card that came from Dell preinstalled. The card works fine in 32 bit OSes and in 64bit linux but I'm disappointed yet again with this latest driver update that fixes nothing for me. I have terrible noises coming from the channels that do work. It's a 5. channel system. Any help and guidance would be appreciated. I had tried researching and fixing this before but put it on the back burner hoping an updated driver would eventually fix it. Win 7 RC has been out quite a while now and still no fix from Creative so here I am begging for help in a forum. Thanks in advance to anyone willing to help. I have an nvidia video card that is sli ready but I don't have a 2nd card installed, not sure if that info matters.

What does dep compliant mean? Are you talking about Data Execution Prevention? I understand win 7 is still in beta or Release Candidate status. It is due to start shipping in only?a few months so if Creative doesn't get on the ball, OEM's will ship with other vendors hardware. My on board Realtek sound works just fine but I would like to use the "upgraded" card I paid good money for. I am using the latest driver from Creative which is for my configuration. I'd say the problem started a few month ago when my Pioneer DVR-111PB optical drive started to fail. He could recognize some DVDs and not others. But then I got used to it and didn't look for a drive anymore. Then, second problem, the original mighty mouse as well started to fail. I tried to repair it but only tape around the chord could do the trick, but it got more complicated to use, so again I used my notebook to control the MAC PRO; This time, I didn't last long to buy a new mouse and I opted for the new magic mouse. It got here pretty fast, but before it got here, my MAC PRO one morning wouldn't start, or better would give me that white grey screen with the question mark. I know it means something like the system has lost his path and a way to recover is to start the system from the install disk, do a repair and you're good. Right, but you remember I have no drive!! So , I look for a drive on the internet and buy a Samsung (Samsung SH-S222). Two weeks later, here I am with my new drive. Put it on, insert the Install OSX DVD, and then nothing. Not even a question mark. Tries a few times with the C or Option key press. Nothing appears on the screen. Just the fan making a loud noise for a minute or two, the led of the MAC PRO stay still, then the fan stops and the light starts to flicker (?) Actually, the question mark appears when there are no DVD in the drive. Tries this PRAM thing (commandoption+PR) nothing happens. So what is going on? Where does the problem come from? Was really really hard to read one long single paragraph.
When "?" shows all you need(ed) to do was go to Startup Disk control panel and set the default boot drive. If it doesn't boot, and the Option key doesn't work though, then you need another boot drive to find (hard drive).
And you should always always have bootable backups (clones).
A copy of SuperDuper or CCC
And of course Alsoft Disk Warrior
And and "Emergency" boot drive.
I never use or need to rely on the DVD other than to install the OS the first time, or to have a pristine clean new OS for my emergency boot drive, at least for repairs.

Please help me find a good MP3 tagger for Mac

I have switched to Mac.
I am now organizing my music properly, with Lyrics, Art, genre's, etc.
iTunes does a good job at some things for tagging but not others. I used to use some good apps on Win XP but they dont work on Mac.
Can someone recommend good taggers for Mac please.
I want to get rid of/edit comments (iTunes doesnt work good on this), art, lyrics etc.

See if your credit card company will give you a single use number. Many will. I had no problem with the company when I bought Mp3 Rage from them, though.

Please help with ability to play Mp3 Email attachments

I am new to the iPhone (as most of us are) and one of the key services I have with my previous Windows Mobile phone was that I would receive voice mails left on our corporate messaging service via email to my cell phone.
I would get an e-mail with a caller ID on it and an mp3 file which was the audio message I could play.
In my office when one of these emails comes in to my PC, I click to play the mp3 file and my itunes opens and the message plays - however, when the message comes to my iPhone, the attachment shows up, but is greyed out and NOT playable.
Since Apple prides itself on being a "MultiMedia, digital" type of company, I sincerely hope that this oversight can be resolved quickly via a firmware upgrade.
I tunes can of course play mp3 files, so I would think this should be a relatively easy issue to resolve.
How about it Apple - can this get on your list of updates???

Please help to use my class in a JSP

Please could someone help me i've started a new job and need to create like a "Add to shortlist" functionality to their website.
I have created a class to create a cookie using the offerid specific to that page which is done in the doGet() method.
Now, the problem is that i don't know how to basically make the cookie be created when the button is pressed.
I have thought of using <jsp:useBean> and putting my class in there but don't know how to call the doGet() method, if you know what i mean.
Otherwise i've thought of doing the cookie creating in the JSP but then also i don't know how to make by the click of a button, it creates a cookie with that offerid.
PLEASE help!? If you need more info pls let me know,

There is only one thing to do in your case: hit the books and learn how to properly program servlets and JSPs - until you know at least the very basics (clicking a button and "doing something" falls in that category), it will be impossible to guide you to anything productive. I've seen it happen before many times; an answer is given, the answer is not understood and then the demand for "sample code" pops up, after which it all goes downhill fast.

How can I create a new iCloud account on a preowned phone (with that persons account signed on) without deleting their whole account entirely (on all devices)? Totally confused, please help:-(

My mum has upgraded to the iPhone 5, she has given me her 4S with a new contract etc. the problem is all her contacts are still on here and calendar dates etc . All from her iCloud account. I have my own account but I don't know how to get my phone on that without deleting her iCloud account entirely and from all devices and her new phone. Please help, I'm probably confusing things more but I really need some help

Just delete her iCloud account from (now) your iPhone 4s - doing so will delete it from your phone and your phone only. It will do nothing to any of her devices with her iCloud account set up on them.
Then login in with your iCloud account login to set up your iCloud account on that iPhone 4S.
If you want to set up the iPhone 4s with a clean slate, just delete her iCloud account, then go into general settings, under the reset tab and select "erase all content and settings". Then run through the activation and setup dialogues with your own information.
