Please Help...I am lost!

Ok, this kinda started recently, lets start from what I believe is the begining. I use Windows XP (which I hate anyways and am stuck with for the time being), and I had a project for a class and thought I could hook my iPod up to the schools eMac and move my Word page I was typing up to Word for Mac. But it would not connect because of the schools restrictions. And as I was going to another class it kept showing that file and exclimation point symbol and going off. That happend for an hour or so and then went back to normal. And a few days ago, after I was using my iHome speaker system, I tried to listen to my iPod and it kept freezing up...and then that ended. And when I got some more music for christmas, I added onto my iTunes and it worked fine. But when I tried to hook my iPod up with the firewire port & cable that is on my HP Pavilion a347x.
But the iPod showed that same file and exclimation point picture, with the website too. So it would not update at all, just charge. And soon after that, windows xp would shut down and reboot after plugging in the iPod. There was not even a warning. But it would not shut down if the pc was turned on with the iPod connected. And just not, iTunes will freeze and such. As I tried to delete iTunes and iPod updater, it would say "Error:-1618 Another istallation is already in progress. Complete that installation before proceding with this install." And a second ago, as I attempted to at least listen to music on my iPod as I was typing this; my iPod would freeze and skip portions and whole songs. I dont know what to do. I have a feeling its Windows, espicaly since iPod works on whats on iTunes on the PC. If someone could pleasehelp me! I am going to try to use the disc that came with the iPod I got exatly a year ago on christas day. Also, as I was looking at iTunes and playing a song, I was using internet explorer and suddently internet explorer kept clicking and acting weird as well as at the same time iTunes started acting like a stuck record and it was just chaos all over windows. Please, again, I need help with this! Thank you SO MUCH for ANYONE WHO CAN HELP!

Spooling the data in a comma "," delimited file is actually a good option. I have used this a couple of times and works like a charm. Spoooling the file is easy because it is a normal text file. Do remember to name the file as <something>.csv - files with this extension is linked to Excel in Windows.

If you have a rescue email address (which is not the same thing as an alternate email address) set up on your account then the steps half-way down this page should let you reset them : http://support.apple.com/kb/HT5312
If you don't have a rescue email address (you won't be able to add one until you can answer 2 of your questions) then you will need to contact iTunes Support / Apple to get the questions reset.

When they've been reset (and if you don't already have a rescue email address) you can then use the steps half-way down the HT5312 link above to add a rescue email address for potential future use

i lost ill not showing my bbm icon when i upgraded the bbm to the 7 version..i tried hard resets and also teh show all option, but its still not showing. i also tried to download it from the app world, but its showing reinstall..and when i reinstall it..it shows reinstall failure..

PLEASE HELP! I lost all of my pictures of my baby :(((((

I tried to restore an old copy of iphoto and when I did it deleted all of my pictures both the new and old. I saved the old restore copy to my desktop then when I tried opening it to import the pictures I wanted, the thumbnails wouldn't show up. I restarted my computer and when I did EVERYTHING all my old and new pictures are gone. PLEASE HELP. All of the pictures of my baby were there. I will be devastated if they are gone forever. PLEASE!!! I've since then tried to restoring to my latest backups within the last two days and all of my pictures are still gone. Can anyone help?

Let me start by saying that I did not say I did "everything." I stayed exactly what I did and said "everything" meaning all of my old and new pictures were gone. I'll admit I did freak out a bit but that is only because I thought I had lost the pictures of my baby. No need to be rude.
Now with that being said, I also want to say thank you. Last night when I searched in finder and got to the iPhoto folder, there was nothing in it. However, I just did what you said by scanning through "All Images" in finder and when I located one of the baby pictures and clicked on the iPhoto folder from which it came, all of my old photos suddenly popped up as though they were never gone.
So thank you a million times over!! I very much appreciate it! :)

If you made a typo while setting up and the iPad is completely not working, restore to factory and start over.
If the set up email was correct, but when you added the email you made a typo, just add the correct account first, then delete the incorrect account.
if that isn't it, please be more detailed in explaining the problem.

Hello guys, I have an Early 2011 Macbook Pro with many problems and I don't know where to begin. There are so many things that Ill just list a few to get started.
Here are my specs:
MacBook Pro (15-inch, Early 2011)
2.2 GHz Intel Core i7
8 GB 1067 MHz DDR3
Intel HD Graphics 3000 512 MB
NOTE: about a week ago I reinstalled the OS to fix a problem temporarily Ive been out of work for 3 months now because of these problems and am now out of money so I cannon afford to take it to a shop or the Apple store for fixing. If I cant get this fixed ill be unable to start my work again and that would be terrible.
SOME PROBLEMS TO START: I really need someone/something to look at my computer and determine ALL the problems with it both internal hardware and also within the OS itself.
*The core of all this is that i NEED windows 7 installed on my mac for work and bootcamp wont allow me to do it for some reason, I also don't want it installed virtually. I want windows installed cleanly. If i could install windows in place of the Mac os and then bootcamp Mac OS I would rather do that.
- Console has so many errors its crazy.
- Computer randomly restarts when I play games or am watching a movie
- I CANNOT install Windows 7 via bootcamp or any other method
- My Optical Drive failed so I have removed it so my only option is to install windows via a usb drive
- For some reason my External HDD that I save everything on now all of a sudden wont read.
- Disk Utility reads it and if i verify it and repair it it tells me everything is ok but then also reads that its updating drivers but nothing ever happens
I THINK IF I CAN GET THESE PROBLEMS FIXED THEN THE OTHERS MIGHT GO AWAY
Please respond asap as every minute my laptop sits like this is another dollar that I am losing

Guys Please Help! I lost my pictures!

I forgot my passcode so I restored my iphone, then before restoring backup I took some pictures, then i restored backup, and when it finished restoring backup, i couldn't find my pictures that i took before restoring backup! can you tell me where i can find them please?

If you didn't have them backed up somewhere, either on your computer or uploaded to PhotoStream or another cloud service, they're gone.

Please Help - I have lost 6 months of photos after a HD failure

Hi - my Hard Disk on my MacBook Pro died on me a few days ago. I have had it replaced and was lucky enough to have a Time Machine backup of my laptop. EXCEPT when I launch iPhoto, the only library it can find is from February!!!
Does anyone know what might have happened? I can;t find a newer library anywhere - including from the Tie Machine backup.
Have I lost my photos?

As I had to Time Machine restore my entire HD, iPhoto included, I don't know if it as checked prior to my crash or not. When I opened up iPhoto (after the TM restore on my new HD) I was immediately asked to locate the library. For whcih I could only find one dated Feb 08.
Havin check the prefs, the library is definitely a managed one as the box is checked yet this may well be a default setting. So I suspect, unless anyone else can suggest otherwise, that I must have had a referenced library and TM has not obviously saved ANY reference alias'.

PLEASE HELP-iTunes has lost my previous library

and i cant find it again! ive looked through the folder where the old libraries are but whenever i open them it just opens the same one. i have lost my most recent (and up to date) library. Any suggestions?? would be much appreciated

I archive files I don't use frequently. To facilitate this I like a docking station. It lets you take a bare drive (= no enclosure, just the drive alone which is cheaper) and place them on top for temporary use and fast swapping. I have an older Voyageur from OWC. I have several bare drives for things such as home movies and photos which I don't need at an instant's notice all the time. I also have another bare drive for backup. The main drawback is it's too easy to not be diligent about attaching the drive for backup, particularly if you're used to time Machine doing your backups constantly during the day.
If I were shopping for an external drive with enclosure I would again look at getting the components separately. For example, Seagate backup drives are popular, but the last time I looked at sites with tons of reviews (such as Newegg) Seagate was rated badly. 10 years ago they were top of the line, so you have to stay on top of things. I would again look at the OWC line (prices okay and they specifically support Macs) and get an enclosure I liked, and then buy a drive I trusted (right now I have several 1TB Western Digital blues -- again from reading online ratings). We were in an Apple Store recently and pondered a Time Capsule but nobody could tell me what drive was inside so I kind of went off the idea in case it was a lemon.

Program Error- cannot open file? Please help! I lost my whole project!

When I try to open an animation psd file, I keep getting a box that says my request could not be completed due to a program error. The file is 23.7 MB and I am using a PC.... I at least need to get the file open so i can export the animation.

I don't personally know how to repair such a file, but I can suggest a utility that will be able to fetch an uncorrupted backup copy if it is in Window's Shadow copy.
